Bill is an AMAZING prof. I don't think many people realize how much he puts into this class and how hard he works for us students. He is MORE than willing to help in any way possible, if you have a free couple hours, head up to his office and have a chat, he'll talk your ear off. Great stories.

Great professor! I hated biology before college, now I don't mind it. He makes lecture interesting, applying all concepts to examples when possible. Best lecture instructor I've ever had!

He is the greatest teacher I have every had, he makes a lot of funny comments, he loves trees, and he just makes class fun and exciting. He makes you want to be there.

Bessler makes biology interesting even for those who hate science. This class is time consuming, but if you study for your exams it's not that hard. He's very understanding about make-up exams. He's very friendly and cares about the individual student, even with such a large class.

Lectures are enjoyable, dude straight makes some funny ass comments when you get into the sex part of biology. Kind of a smart ass but in a funny way.

Funny guy, makes lot of jokes in lecture. Likes to talk about sex and loves trees. Make sure you know that a lab also goes along with the lecture, and Bessler is not the lab instructor so only half of your classes are with Billy Bessler.

A GREAT PROF! I highly recommend this class if you need to take a basic biology. Bessler fueled my interest in Biology with his interesting lectures and humor. Notes are easy to take in this class and are very easy to study. Cross your fingers for a good TA for lab.

He was a very funny teacher and willing to answer any questions. I recommend taking him. He made light of things by making jokes but it helped because you remembered the joke in relation to the question on a test. Good guy.

Fun class to take for gen ed

besslers a great guy! very funny and entertaining...i hated my TA, but bessler made the taking bio worth it.

I really enjoyed having bessler as my prof. he made learning biology fun and made the lectures easier to sit through...take him!

TAKE HIS CLASS - he's very clear, and he has this dry sense of humor that sends you through the roof. Funny stories that link to biology too. Never thought I would enjoy bio so much =)

Bio 100 has a lot of work but it's pretty interesting. Bessler knows his stuff pretty well too. I'd recommend it if you need to get a Gen Ed out of the way

An amazing person, uses his life stories to teach, really funny too!

He is a really cool guy, interesting and funny. His tests get kinda hard, but other than that this class is good.

Take it as a night class. with lecture and lab together, way easier

Despite his horrible jokes and a vocabulary comprised almost entirely of the word "okay," Bessler's a fabulous professor. If you need it he's always available to help, and he will likely go on about trees or the efficiency of the European transit system far past the point of your needing said help. He's teaching Bio 100 again in the fall.

Bill was a great lecturer, he tells great stories (that will have questions on the exams) about different topics and tie it in to what he was lecturing on.

I wouldn't say this class is an easy A, it requires work but his lectures are fun, he tells hilarious stories, if I had him in every class I would actually like going! Lecture notes make up a lot of the tests! So attend lecture! Labs are easy as long as you do the work! Easy to get a B in the class!

I had Bill for lecture and he was awsome. He punctuated his lectures with life stories and he made it interesting. On Halloween, he wore an outfit he had from the 1970's and he brought us all totsie roll pops. He's really nice. I would reccomend taking the class if he is leading the lectures.

Bill is a wonderful human being who brings his love for education into the classroom.

Took him my first semester of college and he made the lecture fun. I hated my TA because no one could understand what she was talking about but I always looked forward to lecture! If you get the chance to have him leading the lectures, take the class. It's an easy A, especially with the homework too.

He does a great job teaching bio. He knows his stuff and how to teach it. He does a great job engaging his students by being as cool as he could possibly be!

Bessler was a great teacher as far as bio he knew what he was talking about the only problem with that class is the TA you have in small groups who do 100% of the grading

He is a great professor. Really does try to make the class fun and understandable. My only complaint is the GA. I had a horrible GA and I wish that part of the class were different (she was so bad). The class is a lot of busy work, but if you try to do the work, you'll do fine!

Bessler is an awesome teacher. Alot of the test questions come word for word out of the book from the chpater reviews at the end of each chapter. The class is somewhat alot of work but not too hard.

Professor Bessler is a nice guy and he really wants to see his students to succeed. His lectures are funny. The tests are not hard, but they do require a little studying. He tells what is on the test though. I would definitely recommend taking a class with him.

I absolutely loved his lectures! He was kinda dorky but in a funny way. He made things a little more interesting. Taking notes was a little rushed though.

I don't like science, so that was a downfall already. The labs are fun, but lectures are pretty boring. A lot of note taking. A laptop is nice for that otherwise you'd get hand cramps from all the notes.

Professor Bessler is the MAN! He does such an accurate job of explaining his expectations for the class as well as giving MANY points to booster your grade! Plus.. he's SUCH a nice helpful guy! Plus you don't need to buy a book for this class!

Very nice and extremely helpful. There is no textbook, which made things cumbersome at times, but still good. Study a couple hours for the test and go to lecture and you'll be fine!
