great guy, has a HUGE curve. I took him once a week for 4 hours on a wednesday. Each test has a 20 pt curve. He is a great teacher and relly knows his stuff. He used to teach at rpi.

The subject matter of this course is very difficult. The teacher does a VERY good job explaining the subject matter. Offers curves, and has plenty of office hours for help!

No lie, if you are going to transfer schools i highly recommend taking him, he will teach you. I graduated from HVCC and now go to Seina and he is one of the only teachers that prepared me for that change, take him you'll be better off in the end.

Very knowlegeable, and if you attend regularly there really shouldnt be a problem, if you dont hes gonna break ure balls, somewhat of a difficult class

not a fan of this guy... gives a test almost every week. they are usually 2-3 3 part questions with no partial credit. i dont understand how someone can teach a math class w/o giving partial credit! but he deff. knows his stuff

Mr Eckert is DaBomb, he has a very good teaching method by breaking down each topic into understandable pieces, and also provides humor as a learning aid. Mr. Eckert makes the time go by fast with as little pain as possible to the student, and offers the use of a self made cheat sheet-.he is awesome

Mr. Eckert is a very committed teacher who enjoys what he does. He is alwasys willing to help you and HAS a great sense of humor. He gives curves on exams and gives exemptions for the final exam. I recommend this teacher to anyone who is willing and eager to learn.

One of the best teachers at HVCC. Very nice, funny, and intelligent. New material presented daily, so go to all classes. Very fair grader, DOES give partial credit. Makes courses fun and easier to understand. Cares and tries hard to help his students. Highly recommend him for the serious student.

First time I've understood a math class in 3 years. Excellent when it comes to teaching, leaves much to desire from a grading standpoint. One tiny mistake and it's 30 points off your test.

I was not looking forward to statistics, but it was required. Mr. Eckert is an awesome teacher. He is extremely helpful--always there when you need him, and has a caring heart. He is A-1 in my book of teachers.

TRUTH- Mr Eckert is very hard. He has people remember how to do a ridiculous amount of formulas, then u can't use examples on the formula sheet for the test! I've seen him rip up people's formula sheets. The guy is a real asshooole. (Hardest class I ever took/ I am a 3.3 GPA student and i worked my sack off to get a "C". Screw him he's boring too.

He is nice, But not a very hard, if you make a little mistake, the grades the entire problem wrong. i was supposed to put + and - sign, I put the + sign but i forgot to put the - sign, but i got the answere right, he still graded wrong. He gave me "0" for that question. As a teacher he makes you work your ass off, I wouldn't take him.

This man is a machine. He is was teaching 24 credits last semester, which is double time. Anyhow, his classes are extremely structured which makes it easy to know what is going to be on the test. Daytime stat classes have only small quizzes and a final, which means less to study. Take this class if you do your homework and want an easy A.

He was very accessible. I took the class online, which made it challenging, but if you have a question, just email him with your phone number and a time frame to reach you, and he'll call!

If you are willing to do the homework and ask for help, he will work with you. I worked hard and he helped me with what I needed help with, and I got an A. He wants the right answer not the right idea.

Big E is an amazing teacher! I took his class for QBA- got an A and didn't have to take the final! :-D- I'm currently taking him for stats which is a hard class in general durh (dont be bitter because the class was ZOMG CHALLENGING- something you've probably never expirenced in your life) but he makes it very comprehendable- just show up for class!

I've never met a teacher who had as much care and concern as Mr. E. He truly enjoys teaching and wants his students to succeed. He was always there when help was needed and was very prompt in responding to voicemails. Willing to give extra help and was very clear in his teachings. Wouldn't take math from any other teacher !!!

MR. Eckert is a great teacher. He is willing to go the extra mile to help you understand his material. He is fast paced, but the layout of his material, helps you to remember the material. Come test time, he lets you create your own cheat sheet to the way you remember the material. I would recommend him as a teacher, i would take his class again.

Easy class if you show up every day. He provides curves on several tests, and lets you have a cheat sheet. If you plan on missing several classes don't take the class with this teacher because you will pay for it with your grade.

For everyone who failed with Bill and passed with pennsi - all that shows is that you're too dim to understand math. all you need is the plug-ins. Bill actually teaches you WHY things work out the way they do!

He's knowledgeable in his teaching and presents it as clear and easy as possible. He'll spend time on a point until he's sure most of us got it. He's more than willing to work with you on what you need to know so long as you return the favor.

Statistics is NOT easy! Get over it. Now ... if you are interested in statistics or need it for another major, Prof.Eckert is the man. He is a nice old teacher. He gives lot of knowledge that is required in this type of world. Also, he makes students aware of the real-world happenings especially business and politics.

Bill Eckert is a bargain. You pay for a stat teacher and you get the best teacher, as well as, a comedian. I took his class at night after an eight hour work day. Professor Eckert's sense of humor kept the class interesting and entertaining. He is also a great teacher with a deep understanding of what he teaches. I reccomend him to anyone.

Statistics can be a hard class, but if you show up, and DO THE HOMEWORK, you can get through this class. His notes are fantastic. He actually gets his students to smile and laugh and he cares! He's also always available for extra help!

He is a comical guy but the class a frusterating, there are 12 tests and 2 are dropped, also there are only a few questions on each test and he doesn't give partial credit! That nearly killed me, but i went and saw him for help a lot which he appreciates and will help you out. My test avg was a D but somehow i got a B in the class, he curves it.

Mr eckert is the coolest teacher ive ever had. hes funny and gives you alot of backround information that you dont need in order for you to realize how easy the material really is. you get a reference sheet on every test and he drops your two lowest. easy to get along with, helpful, made the hard material fairly easy.DO NOT MISS CLASS YOU MISS ALOT

hes a great teacher and his class was the only one i looked forward to going to in spring 09. If math isn't your best subject it might be a little hard, but he prepares you for everything. as long as you do the optional homework, ask questions when you don't understand something and go to every class you will do fine.

Prof Eckert is a great teacher. Have you ever had a math class where the teacher teaches you information or formulas but you dont understand them? This is not that class. He will not move on until you understand why, and how the formulas work. Makes stats class enjoyable with his humor and yes, there are 10-12 tests, easy tests. Drops lowest 2 A++

Oh man, the online course is very hard. He will not give you an inch, so do all the work. I am working my a** off in his class and barely hanging on. Great guy. Don't buy the book, you never need it and he actually said don't read it. Save the $100

Don't use text - use his notes. Do assignments BEFORE tests. Always available to help. Put in the effort and he'll take care of you.

Eckert was a good teacher, but his tests/quizzes were rediculous. All were 2-3 questions, and gave NO partial credit. So basically if you mess up anything you fail. Great guy, funny, but needs to be a little more lenient in a math class where mistakes happen... Struggled to get a B...

You're allowed a sheet of paper for every test and he gives excel projects to boost your grade. 10 total tests, drops the two lowest. Exemptions from final are possible. Never use the book. If you have to take statistics, take it with him!

professor eckert was seriously the best teacher i've ever had...he makes a difficult class fun and enjoying to learn...personally i think he deserves to have a chilli pepper...and anyone who says he is an awful teacher is a clown

Best math teacher I've ever had on any level! Very clear when breaking things down in simple terms. People who do poorly are the ones who don't go! Text book is not essential, because he gives a homework packet. I never did the assigned work in the book, because his questions better reflect the test and he doesnt collect hw.

This is an amazing teacher. Stats covers a lot of difficult material and he makes it easy to understand. Although the homework he assigns is not graded, it is very important that it is done in order to succeed. The tests are not outrageously difficult if you do your homework and ask questions. He drops the lowest 2 tests. Very reasonable teacher.

i had eckert for QBA and Stats the same semester, he runs his classes basically the same, not that thats a problem. He teachers very bluntly, and will tell you what to write, and what to practice etc. if you do the homework before the test it will almost always help you ace the test. Dude seriously gives no partial or extra credit though

Mr. Eckert is one of the best professors I have ever had. He is an excellent instructor and makes a very difficult subject easy to understand. Don't buy the book, if you need to copy a few pages you can bum it from a student or the library. Thank you Bill!!!!!!

He knows his stuff and doesn't let you forget it. Other than that I wouldn't recommend him as a teacher for statistics at least. He fails to understand how anyone can get anything wrong on his tests. He repeatedly says everything is easy and literally will make fun of people who get bad grades. If you understand math take him, otherwise DONT!

GREAT Professor!!! Loved his class :) I would defenately take him again! Always there to hepl you, not only with the course materials...easy to talk to and has jokes. If you come to all the classes and practice problems from "do not loos it" handout you will do great! No need to buy the book...his notes are the best. AWESOME!!!

Prof. Eckert is honestly one of the best professors I have ever had. A brilliant man, who is very outspoken with his life views. You will leave his class everyday feeling you learned something and are better for it. But also the most challenging professor I've ever taken.

You will receive a good grade ONLY if you do all of the homework and Attend all lectures. Which prof is very clear about the first day of class. His lectures and material are tough but as long as you follow up with homework and study for exams you will be golden. Stats is not an easy course but prof eckert makes it understandable and fun

He is a GREAT teacher. His class is very easy. I did the homework at least three times. and I go to his office hours at least twice a week. But I definitely go before the test day. I was born in other country and English is my second language. If a foreign student can get A, you American definitely get A+ !!!!!! .

This is not an easy clas so you HAVE TO so the homework! Don't have to study like crazy, just do the homework until you understand. Mr eckert is very fun with extreme humor. Some people find it offensive but I find it just like a stand up show most of the time.

Class will usually finish 10-15 minutes early, and you can use that time to talk to him and ask him any questions you want. He only grades a couple assignments and if you show them to him before the due date he will tell you if its good, or what you need to change. Borrow book from library and make sure to show up to class attendance is a must.

Do the Homework. It only takes 3-4 problems to understand how to do everything, and that is all he gives! His tests aren't long, because there isn't much material on them. He also gives you a cheat sheet to bring into the tests. There is no reason you shouldnt do well if you do the homework and come to class. Anything less is classic freshman.

Stats isnt easy and lectures can be dull. Show up to every class on time, do the homework until you fully understand, and attend his office hours; chances are you will get a good grade. Dont get mad at him for your failure when he is so willing to help. Ask questions. His lectures and methods are easier to understand than the book.

He's a great guy don't get me wrong. But he makes you feel like you're dumb by saying how easy the problems are. It gets real old real fast.

I don't understand why people think this class is hard. If you show up to class and pay attention, plus do the homework you will have no problems. Professor likes to break everything down and explain everything before he does examples on the board. Stop blaming professors for not handing out A's and making you do the work and earning one.

This is by far my favorite teacher this semester. He will not hand you a "A" but he cares, explains everything clearly and is always willing to give extra help if needed. I have taken Professor Eckert back to back semesters for both QBA and now Statistics. I elected to take another course with him because his class is a pleasant retreat from the constant droning on of boring Professors. He throws in jokes and anecdotes to keep class fun. I HATE math, but the classes I took with him were two of my favorites at HV.

I took him for QBA and Statistics. Got an A in both classes & there's a clear reason why. Mr. Eckert doesn't teach like a normal math teacher, he makes you understand the logic behind the equations rather than simply plugging in. The homework is optional but DO IT, if you do and go to class, you will be fine. Always there to help & great humor too.

Anyone who bad-mouths this guy probably didn't pass his class because they didn't study. Listen in class, ask questions, and STUDY! If you just show up and don't take notes, go home and study, you won't pass. It's as simple as that. He make things very simple and is willing to help you on his extra credit assignments. Statistics was the hardest class I had ever taken. Mr. Eckert's availability for office hours was the key factor in me passing. It was like having a personal tutor. if you put in the extra effort to get help from him, he will do anything to help you. If you don't put in the effort, then you will get the grade you deserve.

I was worried about taking statistics but Professor Eckert made the class very clear. His tests are short and getting one thing wrong can mess with the grade. However, there are many tests and if you do well on all the others you shouldn't be worried about doing poorly on a prior test.

Excellent professor. Doesn't hand out extra credit because he wants students to work hard and think clearly - avoiding mistakes and making extra credit pointless. It's either wrong or it's right. Work hard and make sure everything you write down is correct. Nice guy and explains everything. If you are unsure, ask. If you fail, it's 100% your fault.
