His class is not hard. When he puts something on the board write it down. All you do is type papers and essays. There isn't alot to do though. He keeps you interested during class and makes jokes and is a fun teacher and will get you involved in class.

He is as good as it gets; fun, helpful, inteligent, easy going and charming. He knows how to keep the students listen to his lecture. 4 essays and some reading was all we needed to do. The overall experience was like a breeze of fresh air in comparison to some classes.

He is an overall GREAT teacher. It is obvious that he loves his job, which is awesome! He really does care, unlike many teachers i have had in the past. He wants you to understand. His lessons are very interesting and not extremely hard. I highly recommend him!!!

HE IS AWESOME!!! I love writing so much but I did appreciate the theory much. He changed my perspective in classroom learning. I had fun the entire semester. I always have to look forward for the next class not because I am oblige to attend, but because I am excited to learn! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!

Mr. Hogan is hilarious. I had him at 8 a.m. And I am no morning person but he made his class fun. Everything that came out of his mouth made me laugh. His essay assignments are actually really interesting so it makes them easy to do. He's always willing to help and give good ideas. You'd be stupid not to take him.

He was a very nice teacher, although he does give more attention to his prior students from COM 101. He tries to make the class really interesting to his class and revolves it around real world topics. The essays were a bit hard but if you need help he's happy to help. Topics were really interested as well. His classes fill up fast!

Mr. Hogan was a very good teacher. His class was fairly simple. Had to write 3 essays and 3 writing posts on discussion board along with some reading quizzes in between. Just take notes during class and ask questions which he will gladly answer and you should be fine. Good teacher and class overall.

He is a great teacher! Can make you feel dumb when asking questions but it is all in good fun. Great sense of humor and knowledge of the subject. Makes class interesting and is very helpful. Do not be late or absent often. Rarely use They Say/I Say book but the little penguin handbook is very helpful. Lots of papers but they are interesting. 10/10!

Great class he is fun and keeps it real interesting. Grade is made up of 4 essays and 4 online discussions. He provides reading material via online articles. The people who say he is one sided are kind of right but its a side that you really cannot argue with. All in all a real fun class id recommend it.

Bill Hogan is awesome! He is super funny so his classes always keep you entertained. I learned a lot about organization with his COM 101 class. I really liked the topics he chose for the essays.

Great professor! I wish i could have taken him for 102. He explains everything to the best extent, and also is open to different view points. you need to put effort into your essays. he is fair and smart and really funny. really enjoyed his class. he also has a great personality and will help you if you go to him. i surely recommend him to all.

He was a great professor! If you didn't do what he wants, then you won't get a good grade. Do what he says and how to do it to get a good grade. I always went for help and he loves to answer questions. Take him if you want to learn something, because I finally am learning how to write well.

His jokes are hilarious! We had 4 essays and 4 research narratives to do.He also showed a couple of movies.Do not buy the books! you can check them out of the library if you really need them. It's a college level writing class so it's not 100% easy, but you won't regret taking Mr. Hogan. :) Always helps you too!

Hands down, Mr. Hogan is one of the best teachers at Moraine Valley. Take notes, listen, read, and write your essays on what you learned. 4 essays, 2 discussion boards, and some quizzes. Mr. Hogan can teach and grades fair. You know your teacher did something right when most students tear up on their last day. Take Mr. Hogan,you will be amazed

He is an awesome professor! Do what he says and you can get a good grade. Basically, what he writes on the board is how to do the essay, write it down! He is VERY helpful and don't hesitate to ask him. The essays are not easy, but he does help you become an excellent writer. Writing is never easy, so take a teacher that will benefit you! He only grades by letters by blackboard, the final is an in class essay peer reviews and group talks occasionally. He his so handsome and funny! TAKE HIM

My favorite teacher by far. Took him for com 101 and loved his class so much I took him again the next semester for com 102. Learned so much in both classes and ended up with an A on each paper. You have to put in the effort though! He is very willing to help you. I recommend him to everyone. Great teacher. Fun class. Wish I could take them again.

I can honestly say I looked forward to going to his class, he is the happiest person and knows how to keep everyone's attention. Your guaranteed a good laugh every time you go to class. His essays arent hard, I got a 100% on my 1st one and I'm not even that good of a writer. Just take notes bc he writes the answers on the board half the time! TAKE!

BEST TEACHER EVER. If all instructors were like Hogan, the world would be a better place. Don't take him for granted! He is not only helpful with writing, but with life in general. Not to mention, he has a great sense of humor (which helps when it's a morning class)

He cracks too many jokes and stories that are not all that funny, but are useful if you want time to go by fast. He presses on a book to read that will help you write better but to be honest, i have not even opened it once and i am doing fine. Overall, he is a good professor but he annoys me sometimes. btw His laugh is just, somethin' else.

I've always looked forward going to this class! He's an awesome teacher with a great, down to earth personality! Not to forget, his assignments are straight forward and not hard. You gotta work to get an A but I passed with a 97%! HES AMAZING!

Hogan is super attractive and funny, yet his grading is rough. I understand that we are in college in all, but he focuses way too much on structure. I don't necessarily regret taking his class, but it has added a lot of stress to my schedule having to make sure my papers are on point before turning them in.

Tries to be funny but classmates laugh in pity. Group project is never fun. Clear on directions though, I'll give him that.

I was in Hogan's COM101 class, which I enjoyed, but since then he's become such an annoying political party pushing windbag. And I support the party he pushes on people! I hate to write that because he's always there to help and you will likely finish the semester still thinking about what was covered. Be sure to read all of the materials.

Mr. Hogan is awesome! I received a HUNDRED on all my papers & a 98% on my final... People saying he is a hard grader are WRONG!! As long as you turn in your rough drafts and listen to his feedback when you receive it back , there is no reason you should receive anything less than an A.

Mr. Hogan is THE BEST. So knowledgeable and inspiring. You will learn so much if you take his course. He's extremely helpful, too. And hilarious. He usually lets you re-write the first paper if you don't do well. You'll probably get 3 papers and 1 group project. If you take it seriously and do the work, you'll get an A. Please take him!

Professor Hogan is simply amazing (slightly insane), but still amazing. Only three total essays due, one group project, and a final are due but each one is critical for a good grade. WRITE DOWN WHAT HE WRITES ON THE BOARD! YOU. WILL. NEED. IT. Unbelievably great professor, trust me. Would take again!

YOU HAVE TO TAKE HIM!!! His is HILARIOUS! The papers are all 7-8 pages, only 4 of them for the semester, a group project, and 4 homework assignments. The homework assignments literally go into your paper so you'll be 14 done with the paper. I'm not the best writer and got above a 90% on all my papers. So easy.

He is amazing!! I really enjoyed his lectures which made me not mind coming to class. He uses blackboard accordingly. We did 4 papers this semester. He gives you a lot of material to go off. Overall awesome teacher and great class!!

Mr. Hogan was very helpful this semester and I definitely would take him again. I had a personal situation this semester and he was completely understanding of it and I was thrilled. He's funny but can get a little annoying at times. He totally sets the conservative students straight, love it.

Easy grader! I'm a decent writer and I got 100 percent on 3 out of 4 of his essays. Essays are about 1000 words. Assigns a book read which literally has nothing to do with class until the last paper where u review the book. Barely cracked it open and got a 100. Participation counts. Pushes a political party and only his views are right, but easy A.

Good teacher, good person. He is strict with attendance. Do not be late, and do not leave early. This man loves to talk, he's very funny and he'll laugh a lot, usually at his own weird jokes. If you read and come to class, you will definitely pass.

He is very funny and often makes his lectures feel very light and entertaining. He gives a lot of help on writing essays and has a very clear picture of what he wants in the essays. Attendance is important, but being in his class was an enjoyable experience, it was never a bore.

He is an easy grader. Papers are not excessively long. Longest one was 1500 words. 4 papers total, which isn't many at all compared to other Com classes. Very specific on what he wants in his papers. Has one topic that the class revolves around our was the Obesity Crisis. He is very knowledgeable. Easy A as long as you do your papers.

he is nice , but makes you read a lot. he assigned 4 essays, we had to film a video for one. I enjoyed his lecture, but wouldn't take his class again because he makes us work way to hard for a com class.

He is a pretty easy-going professor, he jokes a lot and you don't really feel that you're in a class. He only has 4 assignments(2 writing assignments, a video(group project) and a podcast (group project)and the Final Exam. You have to read a book and several articles but he goes over them in class so it's simple.

Prof. Hogan is an all around great teacher. He has a very specific way that he wants you to write essays but once he explains it putting it into action is no problem at all. He is very easy going and makes class bearable. I highly recommend him as a teacher and even wish i took him for COM-102!

Took him for a 3 week class in the summer and watched tons of movies. Learned about the food industry. Easy A. He gets off topic but always explains what he is looking for in papers. Totally would take him again.

I didn't read any of the books that we're required; this class was comically easy. As long as you listen to his lectures, you'll get enough context on what to write about. His essays range from 750-1000 words, which is very easy to do. I did all of my essays last second and got mostly 100% on all of them. Being in class is imperative.

Mr. Hogan was very funny and entertaining and he likes to talk. We read the novels The Sellout and Pastoralia and we watched several films. We had to write only three essays, which I found The Sellout essay to be the most difficult. He is mostly clear on what he wants you to write about in the essays relating to the novels and the topic of comedy.

Took his COM-101 class last semester; COM-102 is just as good. Just put critical thinking into consideration and you'll do amazing in this class. He really doesn't care for grammar and only makes you write two essays. Everything else in the course is creative things like a podcast and commercials. He loved my commercial.

Great teacher. He picks a topic for the semester and the whole class writes about it which is great if you don't like having to pick a topic yourself. You work on essays It may be food based; he likes food. He is funny and keeps class light and fun but he is very particular on how he wants his essays and writing. Great class if thats what you like.

Mr. Hogan was a great professor. He likes to chat during class and is very entertaining! He is very lax on assignments- if he thought we needed extra time he would extend the date. Overall I was happy with his class, and he endorsed me for a job on campus! I received a 100% in his class.

Bill is such an Amazing Professors. He is funny and makes the class laugh. I always have a smile on my face when I am in his class. He is a little anal about cell phone use in class but he is nice about it. We just had to read some short stories out of 3 books which wasn't that much and write around like 5-6 essays. His class is a nice easy class.

Among the teachers who have taught me, Bill is the best teacher that I ever had. I took him for com101 and com102. He has excellent preparation and organization skills, and the ability to build caring relationships with students. I LOVE his class. What I like most about him that he make me smile all the time. He is PERFECT.

I dont know why anyone would say he was a tough grader. He is literally amazing. He made my day every single day. He is so funny and he gives life advice on top of class advice. He often extends due dates. He really cares and is super intelligent. I wouldnt hesitate to take him, I wish I could have him every year. PLEASE take him. 10-10

Funniest teacher I've had in a long time.

This guy knows what's up. He had our class read interesting stuff about the food industry. Everything we read was interesting. He taught us not to be cynical, and if a candidate is not for Medicare for all, then, they're probably being funded by private healthcare lol. He is so hilarious that time will fly by in his class. He is awesometastic!

Hes literally one of the best professors Ive ever had. He was definitely my favorite. Idk how there bad comments about him saying the good ones are wrong. He does help A LOT and he will talk to you about anything you need wether its about class or not. His assignments are pretty easy unless your just a lazy student and want to blame him for it.

Fantastic teacher. Cares about students, allows essay revisions, and extensions for assignments. Funny as well, he can make really good conversations with. Accessible outside class, and will help if you're having trouble. I never cared for writing, and would do mediocre on writing assignments before, but after taking him, I write now as a hobby.

I took this class over the summer in an 8-week course. There was a lot of writing due. One essay every other week along with 2 weekly writing prompts. A book is also read in the class but it is not an issue and not overly long. He was also very understanding when I had an urgent matter and had my final paper pushed back to accommodate. Good guy.

Great teacher. Very funny and can make great conversations. 16 discussion assignments and 4 essays. The essays are challenging but fair as he gives plenty of time to write. Gives feedback through assignments and essays. 100% would recommend this teacher.
