Good, comprehensive introduction to CRM. Don't just blow off the lectures, you'll see this material again in AS-408 and any other course that places an emphasis on safety. You must be prepared to work within the team framework he sets.

Enjoyable Class. Teacher made me very comfotable to ask questions and it was a very relaxed atmosphere.

One of the coolest profs I have ever had

Bring a freaking crayon because he's gonna teach the class like it was grade school. Not that that's a bad thing, I still got a B. Just a little childish for a college class.

class is pretty easy to get an A in. I don't really like group projects but you have to do one with any teacher that teaches this class. Kohlruss is the man.

Was looking forward to this class and lived up to my expectations. One of the best profs i have had, but he will make you know you know your stuff. Is knowledgeable and keeps your attention in an 8am class. Would recommend him over the alternatives. knowing some electrical and engine workings helps.

I wouldn't go as far to say that he's the easiest professor around, but if you come to class and do some reading, the material will naturally come to you. He posts his lectures on blackboard so that students can print them out and bring them to class in order to follow his lectures better. Nice guy!

I would definately take Mr Bill again. He knows his stuff. He always wears the same ERAU hoody and has a coffee mug. His quizzes will ask questions that will trick you a lot, but overall still very easy and great policy on homework and attendance!

Nice prof. Tests can be difficult, and his reviews are sometimes vague, but he's open to further explain concepts with students who approach him. Homework's count more in his class, so make sure to show up and do most of them, or it'll cost you.

not a bad class. learned a lot. only 3 tests (each worth 27% of grade, hw worth 19%)and you must study for them. do the hw and turn it in no matter what. hw grade benefits you at the end.

I don't know why but this was kind of a tough class. Study hard for the tests and try not to take him in the morning or drink coffee cuz you'll probably fall asleep. Study for well the tests and you should be just fine. Tests are more than just "rote" memorization

Professor Kohlruss taught this class with interest. We had no tests or quizzes. All you gotta do is show up, participate, do the assignments and your worthy of getting an A. I am also taking him for systems and components and I would most highly recommend you take him for that class as well. Take Kohlruss for every class possible.

Very helpful. Turn in you homeworks, grades them really easy. Print out the slides before class and he tells you what is on the test. GO TO THE REVIEW SESSIOn before the test. he tessl you exaclty what to study and what will be on the tests. all the tests are multple choice.

Easy, but you have to attend every class. Makes it very hard for people with other commitments (full time job/family). Will not accept or give out homework early or late. Its easy as hell but if you miss one class you could miss alot of homework if he hands out a couple and a couple are due that day. Change that policy and he's awesome.

Before entering this class i was not very interested in how the aircraft works because it seemed complicated but if you take this course with Mr. Bill then you will have a new appreciation and good understanding of the basics for all aircraft. i enjoyed the class and the proffessor was always trying to find ways to help his students. Really EASY class! He is really big on class participation and attendance(20% of grade). Multiple choice mid-term (20%). Group led discussion (20%), really fun you just sit and talk. A LONG (45min) group presentation (20%). And, a final paper (20%). Great class, learn a lot and have fun.

I thought this professor was great... very helpful during his office hours, and his class was not all about tests. There was a homework grade that helped. I was a bad test taker but doing the homework brought my grade up immensely. Very Fair at grading peoples work.

Powerpoints are easy to understand but do not include pictures so it requires you to look at them in your book. Course was pretty easy to follow and as long as you attend class and turn in all of your quizzes you should be good.

Class is good, teacher has a tendency to talk alot. Not a tough class, but many things are graded subjectively on his opinion. Only one test, everything else was his judgement, which at times seemed biased or unfair.

He is a pretty good teacher. He tells you everything that's on the test in class; however, it is a class you must continuously study for. Attendance is not mandatory but I highly recommended missing the least amount of classes.

Most important thing is to get the quizzes done as they impact your grade a lot if you miss one. Only three exams in the course and no final so its really easy to lower your grade if you do poorly on one.

It is a very good class, you will be well prepared for tests not a lot of surprises and very well mapped out. But I do not suggest the early section, because sometimes the material is very dry, and tardiness means you don't get to submit your homework which can really hurt your grade.

I had Mr. Bill for AS 356. It's a difficult subject, but he makes it much easier to learn. He's enthusiastic about teaching and takes his time explaining important concepts; he won't move on until everyone is comfortable. The reviews he does helps solidify important topics from the day before. I recommend taking him if you want to learn Systems.

SUPERB CLASS TO TAKE FOR AS356 homework were meant to boost your grades, lectures and explanation were top notch, exams review is the best he will tell you on what you need to study and focus on and he doesn't try to trick you. Take Mr. Kohlruss for AS356. The course can be challenging without the right proffesor. He explains everything and the homeworks are strictly there to boost your grade. Not to mention the day before the test he spells out exactly what needs to be studied. His office is always open for anyone with questions. Great guy, super helpful, Take his class.

Mr. Bill breaks down difficult systems into easily understandable concepts. Extremely knowledgeable on all areas covered, take Mr. Bill and as long as you study the material you should have no problem getting an A!

Professor Kohlruss was a pretty awesome guy. He was very nice and respectful and he really knew how to keep the class engaged. His review guides for the exams were also very easy to follow and pretty much guaranteed you an A if you studied them. I would take him again if I could!

He is an awesome prof. Homework turned in with only your name on it get 90, do the hw, 100. Its basically Extra credit. Tests are straight forward. Pay attention in class and you will get an A. 3 tests, final is a make up incase you miss 1 of the tests. Don't need to buy the book if you go to class everyday.

Probably one of my favorite teachers. Mr. Bill is super nice and helpful. As a female I always struggled with Systems, but Mr. Bill does a great job of breaking everything down so that it is crystal clear.

A 90! just turn it in. he pretty much gives you the test the class before you take it. all powerpoints are online. always willing to help during class or after hours.

Mr. Bill's class is extremely well organized and as long as you follow all of his suggestions, you're garunteed a good grade. The homework is always easy and his test reviews are essentially reading the test questions to you.

Attendance is not mandatory but home works are due at the beginning of almost every class so you will most likely be going to every class anyways his test reviews are very helpful so as long as you turn in every home work and go to test reviews a B is very easy to get

Professor Bill Kohlruss is one of best AS professor at embry-riddle. I learned very specific on the aircraft systems more than I learned in the flight course. Professor Bill is very helpful and kinds. Take him if you can. That's the first priority when you register AS356 class.

As a woman with not a lot of experience or too great of an interest in systems and components I was very pleased with this professor and the way he taught class. Everything was very straight forward, and he was always available to go into further detail if need be. If you go to class, do the homework, and pay attention you will do just fine!

Dr. Bill is a fun professor. I have no background in electrical components or anything but he can convey what seems like such complex topics in a manor that I could understand it. He has 3 tests and homework. You are going to have to study for the test but if you attend his test review you'll know exactly what to study for.

Class overall is great experience, you get to understand more about systems of the aircraft you are flying. Tests are challenging for those who do not know the material. class is clear cut, show up and you pass. tests are worded tough though.

Kohlruss is an amazing professor. Material is tough and boring, but he gives you the best test review the class prior to the test. He has pop quizzes that are graded so that you can never get below a 90%. But if you skip class and miss a pop quiz you get a 0 for that quiz. DON'T MISS CLASS.

Mr. Bill is one of the best and amazing teachers and here at ERAU. Very helpful and very knowledgeable. I would take his class over and over again if I could. I recommend to everyone to take his classes because Mr. Bill's lectures are clear and interesting, and the tests are easy if you read the material and come to class everyday.

Took this class in fall of 2015. This class is a easy class as long as you attend class everyday to take the quizzes. The quizzes are not hard and the worst you can get is 95%. He gives you the questions he is gonna ask on the test a class before the test. Overall he is a good teacher and I would take this teacher over most of the teachers.

Mr Bill provided a class that was fair and very detailed however there was never a time where I felt like the information was too challenging. Mr Bill demonstrated extreme knowledge and expertise on his subject. if you pay attention in class and read the textbook you will never see a test question that you aren't prepared for. Awesome professor! Has a funny dry sense of humor. Most of the class is lecture, but he really tries to make sure everyone understands the material. Cares about his students. Always available outside of class and encourages coming to his office even if just to chat. Most material came from the PP, but some from the book. Highly recommend!

TAKE THIS GUY EVERY CHANCE YOU GET. He wants everyone of his students to pass with an A, and he serves it on a silver dish. The guy gets right to the point and practically tells you exactly what you need to know on the exam. The course can occasionally be dry, but all in all very interesting.

Mr. Bill is one of my favorite professors so far. Here are a few tips to do well in his class: STUDY THE REVIEW; NEVER MISS A QUIZ. If you miss quizzes, it can come and hurt you when at the very end. Excited to take him for turbines.

Great professor. Taught the material in an understandable format. Powerpoints available when needed. Always answers questions via in person or email (very quick via email). If you have difficulty understanding something in the class, ASK QUESTIONS! Read the material and prepare for quizzes at the start of class.

Mr. Bill explains everything really well and always points out potential test questions from slides. Attend his exam reviews, they really help you get an idea of what to expect on the tests.

Mr. Bill is THE Professor to take for AS356; I really enjoyed him!!! He explains Systems really well honestly! 3 Tests, 27% each, and 17? *POP* Quizzes, 19% percent total. Make sure to come to class, or you may miss a quiz, aka get a 0. If you show up for a quiz, its lowest grade feasible is literally (100 - # of ?'s on it). Take Mr. Bill for 356!!

that's one of the amazing class in COA. Professor Bill teaches the class properly, with his passion and the excellent presentation. Also, the RR lab makes the class make more sense, simply because there are many jet engine in the classroom. 3 exams, no final, many quizzes but easy. spend some time on study then get a easy A know about the engine

Mr. Bill is the best systems professor out there, so please save yourself some time and take him. Some aircraft systems are fairly complicated to understand. Mr. Bill teaches very slow and deliberate (perfect approach for this class). Best yet, Mr. Bill highlights exact exam answers during lectures (he also tells you verbally). Better show up!

Mr. Bill is truly there for his students. If you dont understand something, raise your hand in class, go to his office hours, or email him. Hes always willing to help as long as you show youre trying. Do study though because you only have three exams that reflect your grade.

Mr. Bill is a wonderful professor! Having only private pilot knowledge, I did have to study more, but Mr. Bill was able to help with anything I didn't understand during office hours. Also, as one of the only females in class, I never felt like I was treated any different than the other students. Don't skip class or test reviews, they're important!

He is the best. Print out his lecture slides, he highlights all of the test questions red in each PowerPoint. Tell you during the review exactly whats going to be on the test. 3 very simple exams. No book needed just review the slides!

Mr Bill is a must take professor for AS311. He is extremely knowledgable of the material and has powerpoints that specifically highlight the important concepts he would like you to know. His test preparation classes are something you don't want to skip as he will ensure you are prepared for the test the next class. Textbook is optional but helps.

The AS356 Systems and Components class is an inherently dry class with a lot of lecture material, so I wouldn't recommend taking it early in the morning or after a long day. Mr. Bill is an incredible professor who gives great advice and feedback, and he is extremely friendly and respected. He gives great test reviews before the three exams.

He is a great professor willing to teach in an in depth level who not only just knows the subject but also cares about the students that come to his class. Attend lectures as they are not only helpful for the test but for overall knowledge. In terms of difficulty, I would say put in the daily review (15-45 mins) and you should all set! Good luck!

Great teacher, very knowledgeable on the topic. Though the class is very lecture heavy i.e. power point heavy, if you pay attention and go to class you should be able to pass the class with at least a B. IF YOU WANT THE "A" STUDY HARD. Exams are almost all true false but one word will make the statement false. Read carefully!!

I went out of my way to take him a second time. One of the best decisions I have made. No homework, No assignments, No Final, but you actually still learn something and remember it. Things I have taken in the first class I had applied to the second and I noticed I did not brain dump because it is all useful information. GO OUT OF YOUR WAY TO TAKE!!

Professor Kohlruss's AS311 is lecture heavy and there are only three tests. However, he does a great exam review session that every student should attend. I would say showing up is the most important part of his class, but attendance isn't mandatory, but those who showed up will see the benefits if you come down to needing a bump up at the end.

His tests are mostly from the slides. Some of the questions are tricky so just be careful. He as a professor, very nice.

Although lecture heavy, he makes this class engaging and fun. No homework, just three exams, although if you study the slides and attend his review sessions before the exams (gives out the exam questions), you should have no problem excelling in this class.

Mr. Bill is a true gem of riddle. Used to instruct for Riddle back in the day. Can be dry at times, but it was an 8 am course. Really enjoyable class take him if you can before he retires!
