he's a cowboy! and he's so cute, but extremely hard to follow in lectures and lab doesn't count for enough in this class, but he drops the lowest test grade and exams are right out of the book. don't really have to go to class, just read
This man is great. He is boring in class, but he is extremely fair with his exams. They are taken RIGHT out of the text. No need to go to class cause notes are on WEBct, and huge curve on final grade!!!!!!!

He just reads his notes that you can get off WebTC. He doesn't explain and you can't even take notes off what he says!
He is a really nice guy. Talks very slow but its easy to understand him. Very laid back. Test are a sinch.

EXTREMELY BORING!!!! He does nothing in class but drone on and on and on and the notes he talks about are right on Webct. I wouldn't recommend this class unless you are good at self teaching yourself.

Class was definitely easy...don't even bother going to class it will just put you to sleep. As long as you get notes off webct and every once and a while pick up the textbook you'll do fine. Nice teacher...reminds me of a cowboy
His first time teaching physiology- I learned more in anatomy last year. His class is self-learning, He knows the info but doesn't know how to teach it.
Not sure why I never skipped the class - lectures don't help. Just study off of WebCT. Nice guy, but a bit of a...well, he's interesting. You can be the judge of that. If you can stay awake.

His class is easy if you read the book. He cant teach for anything. He is hard to understand. The class is easy to pass. He is not flexible at all. He by far is the worst teacher i have ever had.

This prof is awesome! If you have to take Bio, take him. His tests are easy as long as you study the notes he gives you. Always willing to help during office hours or explain in class.
Not a very good professor at all. He is a nice guy but his lectures are terrible, I stopped going after the 1st exam. Fairly easy, all you have to do is read the book and get his notes off of webct. There must be a better prof, worst one I've had yet.
DO NOT TAKE HIM FOR BIO104......worst professor ever....lectures are torture and very confusing....hard tests.... book is just as hard to understand as he is...take someone else for this course
long, tedious lectures, uses the notes that came with the textbook...I can't stress enough going to his office hours, not the greatest lecturer in a large lecture hall setting, but he's extremely helpful and willing to help one-on-one or in small groups.

Prof. Reed is really weird. His lectures are boring, so you can get by by just reading the slides on his website, b/c those are the notes he goes over in class. Read the textbook. Tests are difficult. He is a nice guy, but not the greatest teacher.

great professor!!! really nice understanding guy. take the class in the summer if you can. drops lowest test grade and you get to make a presentation on anything relating to physiology that counts as a test grade which is an easy 100. this saved me! lecture can be boring but he puts his notes on webct. study and read the book and you will do fine.
Is he still at UD? Is helpfull, not the greatest lecturer, great class though, makes funny comments, and gets students involved, go to class, office hours, and read the book and you'll be fine.
Professor Reed is a wonderful professor who cares about the success of his students. His lectures are boring, but he emphasizes what exactly is going to be on the exam. His exams are difficult but fair if you study. I highly recommend taking this class with this professor.
I think professor Reed did the best he could to teach this class. The material is boring and in order to do well on the tests you need to study the notes and textbook A LOT.
This professor is awful. His lectures are dry, but he expects you to know everything without him teaching. He has no knowledge how to properly teach a group of students. He makes things a lot more difficult then they need to be, making up his own terms to memorize biology. He is uncomfortable, awkward, rude, and unforgiving. DO not take.

Bisc 205 was such a great class!! Professor Reed teaches from a powerpoint which correlates to the textbook. 3 exams and he drops the lowest one. 1 group project. 10/10 recommend Reed!
Professor Reed is the best teacher at the University of Delaware. He cares for his students and teaches you a lot, but is understanding and doesn't make anything too hard. He cares about his students and is a overall great guy. If you read and study you will get a good grade.
This class was way too easy for a college level bio class, so it's an easy A with Reed. Reed is very quirky and caring, and loves science, but it can be hard to stay awake through a 75 minute lecture. He posts all the pp's online, so attendance isn't necessary. Nice guy overall, and easy A.
I had Reed for BISC205 and BISC276 over the winter. Great guy, quirky and passionate about science (and you will get a lot of random facts about bees.) 4 exams, lowest one is dropped. final is only 2 chapters, and there is a group presentation worth 15% of final grade. Lectures can be a little boring and monotone, but still a great class.
He's easily one of the easier Bio Professors for 205. Just read the chapters in detail and you'll pass. He usually only assigns 2-3 chapters per exam. There are only three exams but he drops the lowest score. No homework, no quizzes. Not hard at all. But take the exams seriously cause thats the only thing that makes up your grade.
Hes a sweet guy but his classes are very boring. You have to study a lot for his exams, not many.. 3 exams with 1 getting dropped. class isn't mandatory to show up too, all his power points are online
3 exams (lowest dropped) + final is worth 60% of grade, 25% of grade is the lab (warning lab final is actually hard), 15% grade is based on a group project which is basically an automatic 100. For exams study with the book and you will do fine, although sometimes he uses terms in the exams you've never heard. Ended with an A.
Reed has very dry lectures & he posts all of his notes online. Theyre basically word for word from the textbook so its easy to take your own notes. 3 exams, lowest dropped, & a final. Easy presentation to boost your grade. You have to study to get an A
If you have an interest in science or a background in biology, this class is pretty easy. He takes a lot of "breaks" during lectures and is very caring. Also drops the lowest exam grade and assigns the simplest project ever as a grade booster. Definitely need to study for the exams though
literally this man goes so fast that i think im gonna have carpel tunnel by the end of this semester. goes on tangents that have nothing to do with the subject and overall all over the place.
take a different class if you can. he clearly doesn't care about his students or the material he is teaching. lectures don't make sense and exams are worse.

Hes a super nice professor who really cares about how well his students do. The only reason people give him bad reviews is because they don't show up to class and take BASIC notes. The class before the exam he gives you terms to study and diagrams to memorize. Tests are straight forward. He gets super bummed out when 15 out of 75 people show up.

Professor Reed is a sweetheart, no doubt. He genuinely cares and wants you to succeed. He's too smart for his own good though. Don't write notes, just print them out and use those to study. Three exams, drops the lowest and a presentation that he gives you full credit if you show up and present. Don't recommend skipping though.
my boy willie is the man. this class is difficult cause bio is tough but he posts chapter outlines. don't even think about reading a textbook or taking notes cause this man got you. tests are difficult but fair but if you study you'll do fine. talk to my man willie about boats or bugs and he'll love you
This class was really tough for me but his grading really helps. He drops your lowest exam out of the first three and you have a group project thats an easy 100. Finished with a B- on canvas but when the lowest grade was dropped and the group project was added I got an A- . Really suggest going to class especially the one before the exam.
Lectures are boring but you need to go to pass. He is a nice guy and definitely knows what he's talking about. He posts lecture outlines on canvas so bring them to class instead of trying to write everything down because he changes slides so fast, but the outlines have everything you need to know for exams.
I love this professor so much. You can tell he cares about his students so much and will do everything he can to allow you to do well. Class isn't mandatory but you should go in order to do well. It's definitely a lot of material and you have to study a bunch but if you can do that you will be fine.
