Great teacher, I loved coming to class because he is so smart and you learn so much from him!!!!
He is fun, easy to learn from and definately HOT!! I would recommend him to others in a flash!
Great guy, fun class, great teacher. Ask him about when he played in the band at Ohio St!!!
Professor Werner has a way of making a potentially boring and complicated topic fun and easy. Everyone will enjoy this class!
Awesome teacher! Makes law my favorite class because he is interesting and makes things easy to understand.
Cool...talk to him about football, make sure he knows your name - DON'T Ever walk out in the middle of a class - he thinks that is very disrespectful.
Super fun class! He tells great stories! Do the readings and participate in class and you'll do fine!

One of the best teachers I have ever had. Makes law interesting and easy. If you go to class you will have fun and do well.
he is totally horrible... would not take this class unless i was a law major....
The worst prof ever.... he taught us as a law students and the EXAMs are "oh my god" the hardest ever.
The MUST TAKE prof for HMD 401! Do not even think about taking anyone else! Study from the book, which is easier than the other profs, and as long as you go to class and take notes, you will be fine. Plus he puts the powerpoint online. As long as you do the reading, you will do well, but there is a lot of reading.
Awesome teacher! Very animated. If you read the text and show up to class youll do fine on the tests.
He made the class interesting. I recommend taking this class from Werner.
Class is a waste of time, towards the end of the semester, he had the attitude he didnt want to be there. Just rambles on about pointless stories and topics just to take up time. Had no interest in class, but it was required.
I have to disagree with the last comment! This is one of the best classes and prof's I have had at UNLV. He made a really hard class so easy to understand, and very enjoyable. I never even wanted to miss any lectures.
i took this class in an 8 week module during the fall. mr. werner is AMAZING, hands out powerpoints, & there are only 3 tests which are all easy. *tip: court cases are not included on tests at all, but they are useful to read before quizzes. textbook is available at a dozen local libraries so you don't have to buy it. easy A & super funny guy.
He knows what he's talking about and fun class. He trys to make the class awake. Helpful information, he uses powerpoint and pop-quizs, 3exams. You must attend the class inorder to pass, cuz his leacture is fun and useful. At least B'
The book he uses was so much better than the book Hardigre uses. His lecture was very attractive, and easy to understand the concept of hotel law. You should take this class with him!!!
teaching boring law in a fun way, really helpful
Great professor, really funny. If you read the book, you will do well in the class. He appreciates students who come to class and will often give out bonus quizes on days when no one shows up. His lectures are interesting and funny.
Great, great teacher!!!
Awesome Prof. and person. Super helpful all the times and makes you interested in Law. Take him if you can.
Awesome teacher! He teaches in a way where you will actually use the material in your future hospitality career. If you show up and read the book you will get an A. He's super funny and makes class as easy as possible.
he is a great prof! you should definately take him, he makes class so interesting and gives tons of examples so you understand the material. had a great time!
Prof. Werner is one of the best professors at UNLV! He managed to turn a commonly boring subject into something really interesting. He jokes around a lot, which makes the class go by a lot faster. Midterm was really easy. Make sure you READ the book for quizzes (usually one a week). The only hard thing was the final. But overall easy class.
Professor did a nice job of stressing the importance of "liability" - a word commonly used and feared in the industry. The course covered most aspects of the industry and the professor offers clear, concise examples to support the text.
I took Werner for 401 and 402. I'm about to graduate, and I can honestly say he is the BEST professor I have taken at UNLV. You gotta be outta your mind if you don't take law with Werner. He turns boring law and makes it fun... plus you learn tons in the process! Highly, highly recommended!
I took him for both law classes required! He is one of my favorite professors at UNLV. He is so helpful and he's got a great sense of humor, but I learned a great deal at the same time. That takes a lot of work! He is awesome :)
Awesome instructor, he keeps the class entertaining. Readings are very short, you mostly have to study the cases. Test are moderate but if you read, test are easy. Lots of group work.
Took Werner for both 401 and 402. He's an excellent teacher. No busy work. A lot of hands on learning. The course itself is not designed to be easy but Werner's teaching style makes it an easy A. You would be crazy if you took anyone else for law.
This guy is awesome! Highly recommend him! He is funny, knowledgable, and genuinely cares about students. Reading is short (less than 10 pages a class), but you are quizzed over the material so its important to read! Lots of group work. Very entertaining way of learning cases through live examples. Easy tests,Easy final-you can have 1 pg notes.
Absolutely the best prof I have ever had in UNLV. I wish I can take all of his classes. He makes you laugh every second. Read book carefully if you wanna get an A.
TAKE HIM FOR LABOR MANAGEMENT. This guy was a labor attorney for 20 something years. He knows what he's doing, and everything he says is from real life experience. He takes a boring subject, makes it entertaining, and is there for you to make sure you learn. The class isn't hard as long as you do the work presented to you. A MUST!
This is the best class I have ever taken! He is awesome and knows what he is talking about. I enjoyed going to his class and definitely memorable. Only thing is that he is so layed back that you forget how hard the subject is so you dont do so well on the quizzes and test. Watch out for that! And he isnt really clear with what will be on the quiz.
By far the funniest professor at UNLV. You will absolutely love this class and he will have you laughing every day. Super easy elective, easy A as long as you go to class and listen. You don't even have to take notes. Definitely recommend him!
By far the funniest professor i ever had. You will absolutely love this class and he will have you laughing every day. Definitely recommend him!
Best professor for HMD 401. He is very funny, smiles all the times and makes class enjoyable. If you apply yourself some, the class isn't even that hard.
Like most of the other coments, he is the BEST professor in UNLV Hotel. Very knowledgable, clever, and friendly. One of the very few classes I bought a text book for because it is actually useful. He inspired me to switch gear to law. You'll be addicted to his lectures, very informative, interesting, & real world stories. A MUST take.
Best professor for HMD 410. He is funny, smiles all the times and makes class enjoyable. If you do the work you will receive a good grade
Must take! Great and informative professor!
Werner is the best professor ever!!!!! He is smart, funny, very friendly and honest. He will show you the true life not a theory! He puts students into groups, so we can get to know each other better! Werner got a talent to teach from GOD! Take, take, take !!!
He is one of the best professor that I met in UNLV. The class is very informative and all assignments are clear. Mid-term is tough and Final is okay. Any one who needs to take HMD 401 PLS take Professor Werner class.
I love Werner. He is one of the best instructors in the hotel college. He's hilarious and brings his real life experiences to class.
Really awesome teacher. I actually looked forward to going to class at 830am. The lectures are always fun and interesting. There are 2 group videos that you have to make, but he grades them really easily. The textbook is an absolute must, if you don't read, you won't pass.
Werner has been one of the best professors I have ever had! You have to be on top of your game to do well in his class, but if you read and come to class he is a really great teacher. Coming to class on time is a must, or he will find ways to make fun of you! I definitely recommend taking his class!
Almost too easy. If you are a foreign student looking to freeload, this is the class for you. His classes also provide useful real world information for the minority who are interested in learning. He will help and answer your questions until you understand. He needs to be more strict about attendance and slackers in general, but he's too nice.
This was probably one of the best classes I have ever taken at UNLV. Werner made class fun and interesting and I always looked forward to going to class! We only had 2 exams, 2 small group video projects and there were a whole bunch of easy group quizzes. You have to read the book to understand the class, but it is really interesting and easy.
We got to have a page of notes for both exams. The material was very interesting and Professor Werner is really funny and encourages class participation. He is an excellent professor and I recommend him 100%.
It will probably be one of the best classes I have taken at UNLV. Professor Werner is very knowledge and he is always available for help. Taking it over the summer, awesome, read his assigned reading and cases, prepared for the class, you will get a B+ at least, without doing too much better on your exams. His lecture really makes me learn a lot.
Professor Werner is great, he genuinely cares about his students and their overall participation & grade. Exams are solely based on the readings, attendance is mandatory, your allowed to bring a page of notes to every exam, & he gives pop quizzes. Lectures can sometimes drag on and sometimes you forget you were supposed to be paying attention.
Werner is great. There's no other better professor for HMD401 than Werner, you will actually enjoy the class and become interested with the homework.
Werner is an awesome teacher who definitely knows everything about law. Attendance is required but class is so interesting that you won't want to miss. He makes the lectures fun and exciting and ones that you will always remember. I would absolutely take him again! Definitely recommend this class!
His class is very interesting, and you can learn a lot from it. It is not very hard. If you do not read the book, you will probably fail his class. If you read the book before each class and listen to his lecture carefully, you will be fine.
Interesting lecture
I'm going to miss this class so much! Wonderful professor, interesting material. One of the best classes I've ever taken at UNLV. Definitely read the book though...
Great guy and professor. He is there to help you. If you do the readings and show up to class you will pass with no doubt. He makes class enjoyable to be in
Loved the course because Werner made it interesting and fun. Read the textbook and the cases- they will help you immensely on the exams, and go to class.
Werner makes Law interesting. YOU MUST READ. Exams are based on textbook and not really the lecture. However, attendance is required. YOU CANNOT BE LATE. Occasional pop quizzes. You need to put effort into this class, don't expect a good grade without putting in the work. Work load is reasonable and not hard. Learned a lot from this class (:
Read the book, not only is it a good read but you'll pass the class with flying colors if you just read the book. Prof. Werner's lectures are awesome and I couldn't pick a better class to have at 8:30 am than this class. The examples and stuff he does in class is very entertaining and he's funny and absolutely true about the real world.
I took his Union Law class for an elective and if you are interested in that kind of field I highly suggest this course. He was an amazing professor with great lectures. He understood we were just an elective class so he made things very easy and understandable but still made sure we could be tested on our knowledge.
AMAZING! Read the book (it's good) and go to class and you'll be fine. Prof wants you to learn, is super accessible and helpful, funny, and listens to student feedback. Quizzes, bit of group work (not bad and I hate group work), worksheets, and 3 exams. Top three professors I've ever taken. Don't overthink what you're learning. He's reasonable.
First to clarity, he is a nice professor but not in teaching. There are two group videos, three exams, assignments, pop-quiz, and extra credits. Do not choose his session based on overall performance on rate my professor. The students in his session get like 50% average and pass this class with C which lowers you GPA
There are a bunch of materials from textbook you have to read for the exams and pop quizzes. Note that the exams are all short answers! You have to get an exam book from student union, do not write on the left side.
When he notices the average grade students get is C in his law class, he tries to offer pop-quiz as extra credits, which is a good thing.
Michael's session is good
Michael can help you with exams and the exams are basically from the lecture. Please go to class on time and you'll be totally fine, which makes you learn about laws.
William tries to make his class fun. Your group video requires laughs. The class is pretty interesting, but you should avoid taking his session if you were looking for a high grade. Three exams are all short answer--all hard!
Two group videos (laughs), three exams (short answer), no extra points given. He makes his lecture interesting, but you get nothing after each lecture. The average grade is his class is C+.
He is a really nice professor, always there trying to help students. Yes, his class is very difficult, but as long as you attend class and read the book, you will be fine. To be honest, this is the only class that i feel I learned throughout my college, and it is the only class that is interesting can keep me not touch my phone for an hour.
Easily one of the best professors I've had at this school. He is an amazing professor and knows his subject well and the way he teaches it makes it easy to understand. Read the textbook and just listen in class and the class is an easy A
He is just a wonderful professor, helps a lot outside of classroom go see him in his office, he is very funny, he makes the class super interesting and funny. Be ready to read a lot. 3 exams, 2 team video projects, quizes and bunch of extra credit option One of the most approachable teachers, he wants you to pass but you have to put effort in it.
Professor William seems like having no experience in law, but he can organize the law principles in lecture. Two video projects (content not important) concentrate on laughs. Three exams, structured as short answers, are not easy! Final is accumulative. I don't know why it's multiple choice--harder!
Werner is an awesome teacher who seems to actually care whether or not students truly pay attention & learn in his class - which is pretty refreshing. Hands down - best professor I've had at UNLV. Yes, he assigns reading and actually expects students to work, but if you put the effort in, you will like this class. Very fun, interesting, & engaging!
I took Professor Werner's online class this summer. His online class is easier than his in-person class, because there is not video project, and most questions of quiz and final exam are multiple choices. But still, you have to spent at least 2 hours per day to read textbook, do discussions, and finish quizzes. Overall, I learned a lot from him.
Back in high school again with the video projects and acting.
Werner was great! I would definitely take him again. If you read the book you'll be fine. He gives lots of opportunities for extra credit. He likes to give pop quizzes so make sure you read. You have 2 written exams and the final is multiple choice.
Professor Werner is the best professor I have taken at UNLV, and had the most useful class. He only assigns small reading instead of a whole chapter, we didn't have group projects or essays, and it was a huge relief!
Best Professor Ever! He cares about his students. Advice: get the textbook and read it, really good information, and it will make the class pretty easy if you read it and do the worksheets. He is so funny and one of my all-time favorite professors. I wish I could always have him as my professor. He is passionate and teaches in an interactive way!
As for the HMD law professors Werner is the best. Not sure those other creatures count as professors. He takes all of his knowledge and is ready to teach lessons that he has learned. Not going to lie you are going to have to read and be on top of the ball. Be ready with your study habits now. Everything just depends... Maybe
I love his class!!! One of the best Professor! It is my favorite class for sure, , I learned a lot. I want to take all the law classes from him. He is super funny, I don't want miss any class from him. It is not an easy class, but Read the book and go to class, make sure do all the assignment ( they are not hard), you will be fine!
He is one of the best Hospitality professors at UNLV. If he is not available as your 401 teachers, he is so good he's worth waiting on a waitlist for or trying again next semester. He isn't an easy A, but if you just pay attention and go to his office hours you can definitely pass his class. I failed my first exam and still got a B+ in the course.
Werner is great! His class is tough because it's hospitality law, but he works really hard to make it entertaining and applicable. I would take him again in a heartbeat and I know so many others who would as well!
Useful course, especially for those who want to go into management, as companies may look for those who have knowledge of labor unions under their belt. Professor Werner lays out his modules in an organized way; some weeks are definitely lighter than others. Mostly video lectures, court cases, and group work. Would take this professor again!
Very tough class, but the lectures fly by and you'll want to attend because the stories make it fun! Absolutely need the textbooks or you won't know what is going on.
Werner is one of the best professors at UNLV!!! Be prepared to be challenged and actually learn! His lectures are engaging, fun, and really help you understand the material. Make sure to read the book before class, it'll make your life a million times easier. He genuinely cares about his students success too, so head to office hours if youre stuck!
Dr. Werner is by far the best professor at UNLV. Yes the class is tough, its a law class. But his lectures are so enjoyable and he is all around just a great guy who genuinely cares about his students. Go to his office hours, pay attention, read the book, have fun with it! I liked his class so much I even took his elective course! TAKE HIS CLASS !!
I took this class as an elective because of how much I liked Werner's law class, HMD 310. HMD 480 is very useful for any hospitality student as everyone should have a basic knowledge of unions and how they work. Not only that, but the class is easy, and his lectures are fun!
This class is really easy as long as you read the textbook and show up to class. If you can't do either of those things then you should probably look in a mirror and ask yourself "what am I even doing in college?". Bill's lectures are super fun and interesting and I don't think I've enjoyed a class as much as Bill's aside from wine and beer class.
Do not hesitate to take his classes. you will learn something in a very good way.
I enjoyed learning from Professor Werner. He is very knowledgeable and loves engaging in relevant discussions. He opens up the classroom for discussion and creates a welcoming environment. It's important to show up for class. For a more difficult and content-heavy class, Bill Werner does a great job at making it as enjoyable as possible.
Do not hesitate to take his classes, you will learn a lot. GREAT professor.
The expectations for this class were more difficult online than in person. The coursework asked questions with vague/unclear situations, so it was difficult to find a clear answer for the quizzes/assignments. After studying using the textbook/material that the professor posted, there was still lots of confusion when applying it to his assignments.
The best professor I have ever had!! Just show up to class and do the readings. He cares a lot and keeps the whole classroom engaged.
By far, the best professor I've had throughout all of college. He genuinely cares about his students' success and you can tell when you're in his lectures. Even with it being an 8am class, he kept us engaged all up until the end. Very beneficial content for the real world, and just interesting to learn about! Highly highly recommend his class :)
Professor Werner's HMD310 is a challenging yet engaging class. Attending lectures and using the textbook are a must, but the material is made interesting through his stories. unstuckstudy was a helpful study tool alongside other resources. Overall, a rewarding experience.
Professor Werner was a great course to take. with his fresh and energetic attitude and stories always captivating the class. However, be prepared to read a lot from the textbook cause you will not pass this course without reading the textbook or not showing up to the lectures. Overall, great lecture and professor!
This was the best professor I've ever had. This was a hard course but he made it as simple as he could. He was always available for office hours and you can tell he truly cares about his students. The workload isn't bad at all, usually a quiz before every class and sometimes an in-person quiz. He allows 1 sheet of notes for all 3 exams.
