Best teacher I've had. He has awesome stories and promotes great class discussion. He makes you excited to learn the material which makes his 3 tests (and no final) easy!

THIS GUY IS AWESOME. I loved going to his class eventhough it was a power lecture because they were always so interesting. His stories i still remember. TAKE HIM! He's so funny and a really smart guy!!!! Definately recommend this course!

Very intelligent and works hard to help students understand. I never knew learning soc could be this funny. Careful on his essays, though, because he won't let you use "it, this, we, they," and so forth.

You learn a LOT, but I was not sure if everything he says is true...but there is not final so that's great! The essays are really hard because of his no "it, they" rules.

Kind of a radical who thinks he knows everything, but is very interesting and funny to listen to. Tests are easy and no final, which is a plus!:)

Best professor I've ever had. This guy knows what he's talking about. Tests are easy as long as you review your notes, and there is no final exam. He makes class very interesting and involves everyone in class discussion. I highly recommend to anyone.

Great class and you really get your eyes opened to the world and yourself. Some people get scared by that, but I think it was wonderful.

awesome guy. the only people i know that don't like him are either very fundamentalist, conservative, or just very narrow-minded. very radical sociologist. i can't stress how smart, nice, and helpful he is though!

Great class, but I see that some don't like him. One even said if you are a psych major don't take him, but I am a psych major and I think he is great. Soc is a different perspective from psych and some people just don't get it! Take him, he is very good.

He is amazing

Very easy class...keep in mind he is very biased and his tests are multiple choice. You have to learn his opinions on things and put his answers down on the test. Didn't really agree with him much myself but the class was still easy. Some days it seemed like a waste of time to even be there as he just talked about how corrupt the gov't all class

Either you like him or hate it.... I loved him. His tests are so easy and class is real interesting. He's a funny guy and very willing to help. His real life experiences make it fun to go to class. I had him in the summer and I never minded going. Yes, he is opinionated, but he has experienced a lot to feel that way. Take him!

Didn't like me, although I participated and missed no classes! Took last summer! Tests pretty easy. Didn't like to hear your opinions if you had been hurt by drugs (including alcohol) and didn't use them. He seemed to think it was so great that he had tried almost every drug. I found him a little too into himself!

He can talk tough but he's pretty easy. He is into himself and his experiences I admit, but that lends to the class in that he's incredibly knowledgable on the topics he discusses. He's not just going to read from the Powerpoint (which he uses). He'll take one line and discuss it with the class for the entire hour sometimes. Highly recommended

Ridiculous grader. Not straightforward with expectations. You will learn a lot, but you'll have to put up with him being vulgar, condescending, and sometimes talking pure nonsense.

Zollweg is AWESOME! He made me laugh continuously even though it was early in the morning. The tests were very easy, pretty much the only tests I could get A's on. It's true that he uses vulgar language, but whats wrong with that?! I wish there were more jobs in sociology, because he got me very interested in it. Most fun prof I've had!

society and drugs is a very interesting class and he's an awesome prof! very knowledgable on the topic

Zollweg must be completely different in lower-level classes. I had a great experience with him, actually one of the best professors I have ever had. Very interesting lectures, both informative and entertaining, and very engaging in class. I hope to take other Soc classes with him.

Class was interesting, and it wasn't hard getting motivated to show up. the tests were pretty easy and he is very willing to help you and give some extra points.

Great Prof!!! he is very oppinionated and upfront about it. Many people cant handle that, but it is one of the only classes I have gotten an A in. Easily the easiest tests I have ever taken (in college). Funny as hell and knows how to make students question their own beliefs, with his radical beliefs.

This is is honestly one of the greatest professors I have ever had. His class is awesome- he is really funny and tells great stories. You really learn a lot- everything he says makes a lot of sense. Tests are easy- REALLY NICE GUY!!!

Great Prof. I wish I would Fail so I could take him again. Fun to go to class. Makes you Laugh. Tells good stories. Take little notes. Only three easy Exams. NO FINAL EXAM!!!

His tests are pretty easy. He will tell you what is on the test, and most of the time, the things that he tells you on the test are on the test. The only catch is that he talks too fast when he tells you. His lectures are really interesting and you will never get bored in his class.

He was extremely interesting and made what you had to know interesting. I personally think a lot of Sociology and Psychology is a scam, but as a professor he is really good.

Dr. Zollweg's class is enjoyable to attend, and the exam's are pretty easy!

Very layed back professor. Made what I expected to be my least interesting class of the semester enjoyable. He does have some bizzare ways of looking at some topics, but he states repeatedly he is a radical in his field. As to him being argumentative, you missed the point, he will challenge your expectations and assumptions.

He is such a character. I truly enjoyed his class. He is very helpful & teaches you things you never knew before. Everything applies to real life & he has a great sense of humor. The tests are unreasonable either!

Good teacher, keeps the class time very interesting. Tests are very easy and the workbook is simple. Only thing is he has a lot of info on everything, some of which i fell he makes up.

It's an interesting class. He's a cool guy but very dedicated to his ideas and doesn't really accept new thoughts if you challenge him. And some of the statistics seem made up. Exams are fairly easy and there isn't a final. And you only need to skim the readings to get the main idea for the exams. Overall easy class and makes you think.

I really enjoyed this class. He challenges the way you think about yourself and the people around you-be prepared for that. Sometimes, you may find yourself saying "No, I can't accept that..." You don't necessarily have to accept everything that he says, just know it for the exams and you are good to go.

This is by far the coolest teacher I've had in a long time. He has very clear in class notes, speaks with great enthusiasm, and is completely down to earth. I learned so much in one semester taking his sociology class. WOULD DEFFINATELY TAKE AGAIN!

Best professor ever! He is so funny and interesting. This was by far my favorite class because he is such a good teacher. I definitely reccomend him because he tells you exactly what is going to be on the exams so it's hard not to do good and there is not a lot of outside work except showing up for class. You take all your test online, and his notes are all posted on the internet. some of the things you learn are questionable, but make sense. You have to agree with him, and participate in class. very knowledgeable professor!

Dr. Z is really the best professor I have ever had. People who get bad grades rate him low because he expects students to be active learners. If you try, you will do well.

The guy is hard, but fair. Do the work and you will earn the grade. I have no idea what some people are talking about with this guy. He asks you to look things up, if that makes him hard on people I don't understand.

Single best class I have ever had. He makes learning easy, but he has high expectations. If you want to learn, this is the guy. You can reach your own conclusions, but you will have to work.

I had Bill for three courses. The caring he has for his students is unrivaled, but he also forces them to think critically and from different perspectives. It helps to enter as a tabula rasa, but personal experiences also help with understanding. I've learned more from Bill than all other professors combined.

I really love attending Dr. Z's class. He has the best stories. Sometimes he makes up his own theories and seems a little bizzare, but he has good reason behind them. He's not the easiest grader by any means, and his tests are worded hard to make them more difficult than they have to be.

Seriously, the best professor you could EVER ask for. He finds a way to make everything interesting and will do his best to make sure every student is understanding the subject matter. He truly cares about his work. AWESOME, AWESOME guy. Absolutely take him!!

Easy and good teacher. The only downside though is he thinks he is God and the republicans represent Satin. Besides his own personal views on the world he is an good teacher.

Overall an amazing professor! He wants you to participate and really think like a sociologist. The lectures are extremely interesting; I looked forward to every class! Also, pretty easy to get a good grade. I definitely recommend Dr. Zollweg.

Bill is very very interesting. He is so smart that sometime I seem to feel offended by what he is saying. He ask you question that make you feel so stupid because he is so smart. But when he say things it is really mind blowing! Take his class to understand reality but not for schooling!!

Dr. Zollweg is awesome. Make sure you do the workbook and reading responses because they will creep up on you at the end of the semester. Going to class is not neccessary but I think you will find that you want to go to class because of the interesting concepts and stories that Dr. Zollweg presents.

The absolute best professor and class I have ever taken! He has really opened my eyes to how society works. Everyone who has something negative to say about him need to be more open minded. Sure the guy is opinionated but he has every right to be! I enjoyed his class so much and really learned a lot. TAKE HIM!

Easiest class to take. You need to go to lecture and absorb the ideas he is talking about to be able to pass with flying colors. Sometimes I forget that I have this class because there is little outside of class work. I would recommend if you have a heavy schedule but need the course.

He is a really cool guy, but I hate his exams. There are always spelling and grammar errors and they are completely unclear. He's radical in his beliefs, which is fun to an extent.

He is very opinionated however he really is passionate about his class. I learned things that changed my perspective on a lot of things. You only have 1 workbook that is due at the end of semester and 3 online exams that are open notes. Honestly take him because I learned alot and it was an easy class (still have to work to get an A)

Dr. Zollweg is the best professor I have had at UW-L! Lectures were always interesting and I found myself wanting to go to class vs. dreading it. His exams were all online & fair (no finals.) He’s a professor that cares what students have to say and is very approachable. He gave me a lot of confidence as a student to succeed, take him if you can!

The best class and professor I have ever had, bar none. Every thing done in class is to make you think, even things some find inappropriate. Those are just to make you think more about what is being taught. Great Prof.

Dr. Zollweg is an AMAZING teacher. He knows what he's talking about and makes it easy to understand. The class is fun to go to (even at 9:55). He's the only professor I've ever used for office hours!

Professor Zollweg is very passionate about what he teaches and opened my eyes to major issues. His class is easy, only 3 tests and a workbook. You occasionally need to do readings but other than that there is little outside class work. He is very funny and time goes by fast. Take him!

I love him! I'd smash. Don't disagree with him unless you have points to back it up because he has 5 research projects, 10 essays, and 50 points for his opinions. His lectures are amazing and he gets really into class. He brings awareness to a lot of problems. He doesn't care if you show up or not, but you defiantly should AMAZING HARMONICA PLAYER
