Mr. Clem is an amazing person and awesome teacher, a true sasafras if you will. I loved his class & will take another soon! Ooochie! (sometimes I just slap myself for fun, woops!) I would not say his class is an easy A. You have to work for your papers. And if you get a C or B in his class that does not necessarly mean your an idiot. There are common errors many struggle or overlook and that's when the points go down at. Simple as that. He is very reasonable and a sweet person. Although he may not seem like it.

Billy is an exceptional teacher. Always willing to help and support, but be prepared to actually work for your papers. While he is very lenient as far as due dates and minor mistakes, he makes it clear on what he wants in papers, so make sure you do it! Very discussion based and never a dull moment in the class! HIGHLY recommended.

He is an awesome teacher! If you put forth any effort you will do good in his class. He answers your questions ASAP and he is very clear on the first day of what he is expecting of you. Yes, he does get sick a lot but he makes up for the days that he missed. I learned more from him in 102 than I did from my other teacher in 101!

I took Clem for 102 last summer-- best class I had except for 101 also with Clem. He's easy, kinda political, and funny. I recommend him because he teaches you many things about a lot of stuff--not just the boring English and writing stuff but stuff about the world. This guy is great.

I took Women's Studies because I wanted to know more about my life. I learned that feminism is necessary to figh discrimination. Let me start by saying I absolutely love Billy Clem. He is a brilliant man, and extremely wise. Second off, if you do not know how to write prior to entering his class, do not take it. This is a college level class, he is not here to teach you the basics you should have known in high school. He also likes to socialize which is refreshing.

He comes off as hard at the beginning of class, but if you stick it through, he is an awesome guy!

All I have to say is that Billy is one of the best English teachers I have ever had. He was absent a lot but he made it up by telling his students what needed to be done on the assignments. It is going to be tuff from the start so do not let him get to you. It is a very easy class as long as your grammer is perfect. So edit your papers at the writing lab at waubonsee it will make your life a hundred times easier.

I took billy's ENG 101 class and am taking women's lit JUST to have him again. It is the one class that i look forward to going to. A lot of great discussion. If you are going to enter this class, make sure you are a decent writer. If you did not do well in high school writing or was not taught the right way, you will not do well in this class

B Clem is amazing! He is very blunt with his opinions and statements. He is very knowledgeable, so if you have a question he has an answer. Know your basic grammar and writing skills and you will have no issues in Clem's class. The experience I had in Eng101 was fun and intellectual.

I just had him. He will seem like an ass on the first day but believe me when I say when you go back the next time he will seem like a different person. He is supper funny, tells you exactly what he thinks and he is super helpful. He has tons of information and you will always end up talking about the most unexpected of subjects. Best teacher ever!

He is the best teacher ever! Clem is one of those either you hate or love. The first couple of days he tries to scare you but really he just doesn't want you bullsh*tting around in his class. He is very particular and has a habit of scaring his students for the first week or two, but if you do the work, are willing to learn, and follow directions you will be fine. As long as you work hard during the course you will learn a lot and be grateful you had him as a teacher.

We all have to take English 101, like it or not. Our choice in the matter is limited to when and with whom. (See what I've learned?) Prof. Clem expects students to be willing to improve their skills, and he avails himself and all the resources at his disposal to all his students. Come with an open mind and be prepared to laugh. This was the last English class I needed to take before I got my Associates degree and I was so disappointed I didn't know of him sooner! The first week, I wrote a really average paper and unlike lazy professors who would've passed me, he failed me and it made me work harder in my writing than I ever had. He doesn't accept last minute BS. Beware!

While there are a lot of papers (which is expected from a composition class), I feel like this is a very fun class that I look forward to every M/W. Clem is an incredibly understanding teacher who is very aware of current issues. I would recommend him for anyone who is struggling with mental illness or any other disability.

First few days of class, the Prof will try to create an atmosphere where one might feel uncomfortable. But he does it to get your full undivided attention. Billy is an amazing person and teacher. He is incredible smart and it is obvious that he genuinely cares about the material he is covering. Billy is definitely the friendliest professor I have had yet. As long as you turn in complete work on time, and try your hardest, you should be okay.

BClem rocks! I've taken three classes with Billy, and he's the best teacher I've ever had. He's friendly and his interesting/random class discussions made coming to class worth it. His writing workshops were very beneficial. He taught me more about grammar than any teacher had before. I'm a better writer now because of him.

If you are a bigot in any sense of the word then Billy's class is not for you. He does not tolerate racism, ableism, sexism and any form of discrimination. He is always more than happy to help you if you present your questions well. He tests one's writing abilities and you will leave his class as a better educated writer.

Clem is a great teacher and is a very easy grader, he seems mean at times but hes really not. show up to class write your papers and you will pass 102 and 101 if you still need both. take all his classes to be honest best class you will take every time.

Billy Clem's Multicultural Literature class was a breath of fresh air. The books were fun to read and the discussions were insightful and entertaining. He has strong opinions, but he's careful not to force them on students, and he respects different opinions when they come up. As long as you put some effort in, you're sure to do well.

Billy Clem has been one of the best professors I have had. Multicultural Literature in the United States has been a wonderful class to take. In this course we were to read excellent books as well as write analysis papers on them. One of my favorite things from this course was having Nate Marshall come to WCC to read his poems!

English 101 with Billy Clem has been my greatest experience at Waubonsee thus far. With all of the classes I was taking this semester, I was able to also keep up with the assignments in this course. As a hard-working student, I am easily discouraged, but he gave credit and recognition where it was due. Just work hard & be willing to do so.

From the first day, he informs you what you need to do to get a good grade: use correct grammar, have a strong argument, and use correct MLA. He gives good feedback on your papers, so you know how you can improve for the next one. The lectures are phenomenal; you discuss writing techniques and how assignments topics are important to your own life.

Clear expectations, interesting conversations, loved this class. Billy clearly wants to help us be better students and people.

I learned so much about writing an essay that I did not learn in high school. This class is not hard at ALL, turn in your assignments on time, attend class, and pay attention.

If you really want an easy A, dont take him. Clem will be honest and straight forward with you. He will teach you. He will show you what to improve on and how to better yourself, as a writer and as a person. He is fighting ailments and still fighting to teach you about the world. He is a caring teacher that guides his students on passing the class. His guidelines for the class are pretty straight forward. Don't procrastinate on writing papers start right away and go to the writing center. If you work hard you'll get an A What I liked about him is that he actually teaches on how to write argumentative/persuasive essays.

I took his three weeks English 102 class and it was all really fast paced with an essay due every week. We had a total of four papers. He is a hard grader but he is fair. He is so funny and lets us express our ideas in class.

This is a lit class so if you dont know what that is, its lots of reading and then analyzing text. Prof is sassy and fun, but will rightfully make you work for your grade. This isnt a blow off class, most college isnt. This is not HS. Work for your good grades. Participate. Do the readings and youll do well. Fantastic prof, would take again.

At first, I wasn't very fond of Billy; however, as the semester continued, I started to enjoy his class. He has expectations for his students in which he is strong in. Be respectful, do what is asked of you, participate in class, always bring what is needed in class, and overall come to class, and you'll be fine in this course!

I have taken Billy for three classes now. I have already signed up for the 4th for next semester. He has great lectures & he is passionate about his work. He makes learning fun and easy- but challenges students with his papers. It is the best of both worlds in his class, easy yet has some challenges. I recommend taking him for every class you can.

Clem was a great teacher! Seems to have this recurring problem of being terrifying first day that he acknowledges and apologizes for. Funny and friendly, if a little heavy SJW at times. Even when sick and bombarded with doctor's appointments still found the time to look over my papers and answer all my questions!

I took this class in FLEX setting, and for a higher level of English, Bill Clem is AWESOME. He wants every student to succeed in his classroom, very nice to get used to especially if you have a core strength in reading and analyzing. he does grades heavy but all you got to do is speak to him and reach out for help. You do get only 3 assignments so be prepare. The one that can affect you a lot is the research paper that is worth almost all your grade.

You usually only get 3/4 papers to write for the semester which is truly not difficult to accomplish if you just try. he is a tough grader, but he gives great feedback and does workshops every lecture. Dr. Clem is a great person and teacher. Took two semesters so far and I am pleased. I don't understand how people have anything bad to say about him. I guess if you can not handle constructive criticism. But over all highly recommend. Thank you Dr. Clem!

I really enjoyed taking ENG 102 Online with Dr. Clem. We only had several assignments for the whole semester, which made it important to bring your A Game while doing your work. Dr. Clem is very particular about how he grades, but makes it clear from the beginning what he expects of you. He is a great professor and offers extra credit opportunities

Gives sufficient time to finish work! If you have any questions, send and email and he will reply fast. His instructions and grading system are pretty straightforward. Few assignments but they are time consuming but again, he gives more than enough time to finish them.
