Excellent teacher! I cannot rate him highly enough!

Best teacher I have ever had. Really tries to make course fun.

Had him several semesters ago and think he is one of the most helpful teachers I've had. He's fun, and makes class a pleasure to attend. He's always willing to help in any way possible. Take any class he teaches. You won't regret it!!!!!!

He has the best haircut ever!! He is much more than just another pretty brain on a stem. He makes class like being on a big comfy couch.

He works so hard to make sure we are winners in the class. His test are pretty hard, but I will be a better teacher because I had him. I was about to quit school before I had him and now I cannot wait to be a teacher.

Awesome instructor! An inspiration to anyone interested in teaching. Be prepared to work...but to learn so much!

I have to just add what everyone else has stated... I was about to change majors - my last education teacher told the whole class we were stupid for wanting to teach. Then I had Mr. Hix. He gave up a job at NASA to just teach. He tells us that he was called to be a teacher - and it shows.

I took this class online - I was told that he was a good teacher, but he was the first "real" teacher I ever had. He was always online. He answered any question I had in minutes. And I learned so much about teaching in his class. I hope I can be half as good as he is when I teach.Thank you Mr. Hix

I have only had Professor Hix 3 times, but I never liked school at Motlow and my mom really is the one that would not let me quit. Why cannot more teachers be like Mr. Hix. I cannot wait to get back to class. He is on fire to make sure we are going to excellent teachers someday.

Billy is a great guy and an awsome teacher. HE is super cool and i recommend everyone take at least one course of his.

Mr Hix is awesome. I would take his class again anyday. He is intimidating, which is what makes him such a good teacher. Atleast he is upfront and honest with his students about the facts of life in the Education field. At first I didn't care for him, but then after i was in class for awhile i began to like him even more. overall he's a great teacher, always so excited to be in class which is a plus. i would take him again in the future if i needed to. just gotta not be too intimidated by him or else he'll scare ya away!

I did not like him the first week or two of class. I thought he was too loud. Today on the last day of class, I cried. I have NEVER cried at the end of a class. I want to teach like him so bad. He works all the time and does all of these neat experiemnts that he uses to help us become teachers. I will never have someone like him again

He is definately made for teaching. He teaches you things when you don't even realize it. I thought the class would be boring, but he kept it interesting. Very Good Teacher.

He was an interesting teacher who taught me alot about computers and how to use them in my teaching

We just watched him do a TV show for younger students about our space program. He works for NASA during the summer. He is so excited to see us, how many teachers come 30 minutes early to class everyday to work and inspire us. I never enjoyed a class so much and I hope that I can be a teacher like him someday. He is the best!

The best instructor I've ever had the honor of taking a class under. He is truly a gift to the field of education. If I can be one tenth of the teacher that he is then I will be an outstanding teacher. His class does require you to want to succeed.

Today we closed the class with 3 letters from Tebby. There was not a dry eye in the class. We gave Mr. Hix a standing ovation. I started wanting to be a teacher due to the summer break. Now I am ready to change the world -he is the greatest teacher in the world.

He is one of the best teachers that I have ever taken. He is so exciting. I skipped a lot of my other classes, but I never would skip his. And when he found out that as I future teacher that I skipped a class, he jumped all over me. but he cares for his students. I want to be a teacher like him!

This is my 2nd term with Mr. Hix, and he is better everyday! I so want to be a teacher like him someday. He is full of excitement and knowledge. I hated science when I started his class, now I want to teach it. I do not know why more MSCC teachers do not learn from him and the way that he teaches the class. He is the best teacher I ever had.

I am taking 3 EDU classes on the main campus. If not for Mr. Hix, I would change my major, for I would think that all EDU teachers are terrible! But I WANT to be a teacher like Dr. Hix. He is hard on us, but way less than school administrators will be. No one can really understand why he stays at Motlow, but I am glad he does.

I went to school a few years ago, but never was excited about school until him! For the person who gave him a poor rating, wake up and look at the other ratings, do you think it might be you that is the problem? Most everyone talks about him being the best ever, and you think he is bad. Maybe he is telling you something you need to hear!

I am a returning teacher with 17 years of experience, and he is the first teacher that touched my soul. He inspires me every night of class. He IS the teacher and spirit that have looked for for the past twenty years. I wanted to quit teaching and know I look forward to my job everyday. Mr. Hix, you will never know the difference you make!

I did not like him the first day - for you could tell that he was going to be demanding. But now I know why. I talked to a principal as I set up my observations and he told me that NO ONE worked as hard to make sure we could get a job. I don't have another teacher that is even worried if I come to class. I did not know how special he was.

I love Mr.Hix because he tells it like it is!! So many students have chosen the teaching profession because they think it's "easy" and Mr.Hix makes everyone realize how hard, yet rewarding it can be. He is the best Education teacher Motlow has!!

If you're looking for an easy course (a bird course) this is not the instructor for you. Mr. Hix is so much more than a teacher. I learned lessons in his classes that will go with me throughout my entire career. You will be held to a higher standard than you will with other teachers, and you will have to work extremely hard but it is so worth it.

I own Mr. Hix everything. I am a 2+2 grad and they did not help me even look for a job! However, I contacted Mr. Hix about a job and he made phone calls and even when to the school to speak to the principal on my behalf. How many teachers would do that. I NEVER had a class or teacher like this. He lives by "when you are here, you are family"... I don't want this to end. Going to Mr Hix class was a fun experience every time. I always looked forward to what he was going to have us work on next. He is a great teacher and I enjoyed every minute of his class.

The greatest teacher ever. I would almost take his classes again to just have him. I can really offer nothing else that others have said already. I got to go with him to an elementary school this past fall - and he is great with children. The hang on every word and he has such control over them. It is magic to watch. Thank you Mr. Hix.

His students don't know how lucky you are. I am teaching my first year at Harris Middle school and there are 6 of his former students here. He is the only one that was working for us when we got out. And he is a rock star. Go anywhere in education and tell someone you studied under him - and people will just go on and on about him. He is GREAT

He is WONDERFUL! He just told us this week that he has been selected as one of the 3 teachers in the US that will be working with the space foundation. We are thinking that this will be the end of his teaching at MSCC. He made me want to be my best. He lives what he preaches. I hope that when I teach, I can be half as good as he is. Thank you!!

The best teacher at MSCC! Period! I have not had a class that I walked out of and thought my life was different. I also learned why so many people are such poor teachers. When I needed help in getting a letter, I asked several teachers for help, Mr. Hix was at NASA and he wrote me a letter and then called to help. A great man.

I am a teacher today due to Billy Hix. During the first class that I had him in, he really fussed at me - I hated him. No other teacher would do that. He is the ONLY teacher that wanted me to be a professional. I loved him dearly by the end of the 2nd class. He is GREAT - go anyway, everyone talks about him. Thank you for making me do right!

Today I had my last class with Mr. Hix and I teared up on the way out the door. He had made me a better student and I am proud to have been his student. His last words to me today were "You are going to change the world" and I believe him! I am a freshman and I doubt I will ever have a teacher like Mr. Hix again.

Goodness, he really is awesome !! I NEVER had a class that I did not want to come to an end, but today, was a first. He is the best teacher at Motlow - but he is better than Motlow, I understand after today why he is in such demand. He was never anything but a professional in class. Thank you for changing my life. Before I took his class, I read these reviews, and I thought that the people writing them had to be nuts! No one is that good. No teacher at Motlow is like this. Ok, I have had him for 2 terms, and he is better than anything I can say here. I am changed -I see the world different - and I will be a GREAT teacher - all due to him. God bless you.

I am a single mom with 2 kids and little help. I would have quit if it was not for Mr. Hix. God, he is good - he has a fire that makes you want to be in his class. I was so tired one time and he just really fussed and then he hugged me. I left his class and cried. No one cares like him. And I work at a school and everyone praises him. I'm so lucky

I miss Mr. Hix so and I know I will never have a teacher like him! He is everything that everyone has said about him on this site and more. I was not sure about being a teacher, but I am now. I was not even sure if I wanted to keep going to school, but I do now! He is harsh at times, but he loves you and works so hard for you!

He is just GREAT!!!! He is SO smart. He just spoke to our student leadership program at a state park. He did an astronomy program. You understand why he has so many awards. He is great. He is so funny and knows so many neat things and he goes way beyond what anyone does to make use special. Thank you Mr. Hix for all you do.

I looked at all these reviews at the start of fall term. I wondered why people would say all these things. Well, I do now! In my 2 years at Motlow, he was the ONLY teacher that I wanted to know and would never miss his class. He is so smart and I was so worried that he would quit before the end of the term. He is in such demand. He is GREAT.

He is just the best. I have been trying to get a job, and of all my teachers, he is the ONLY one that tried to help. I would not be going into teaching if it was not for him He is very special!

He is a GREAT teacher. This is my first term with him. I was afrid of him, but he is a GREAT man. I visit a teacher who told me that he was the reason she got a job. He is alway ready and so exciting. He makes my other teachers really look bad. I have heard that he might be leaving to work in Huntsville and that would be sad for all of us.

A wonderful teacher. He makes you do the right thing. Some people don't like him for he makes them behave in class. But those of us who are going to be teachers love him. He has made it so that we will get jobs. And he will do anything for you UNLESS you don't try. I am very lucky to have been his student. I will take him next term.

WOW - that is all I can say - wow! I went to MTSU last year and hated it. I was not excited to attend Motlow, but I realized that his class was going to be better than anything I have ever taken. He is SO smart about everything. I went to see him work at a school this term and he has kids eating out of his hand. You will work hard, for he does.

I can only say what everyone else has said. He is GREAT. I cried on the last day of class. I learned so much, and one thing I learned was to understand what he was doing on the first day of class. He was modeling for us how to do our classroom. I thought he was mean the first day. I have not cried at the end of a class since 1st grade.

He walks on water! I just hope I can be like him someday. When the shooting took place in Newtown, all I could think of is how he is making us grow up so that we will be ready someday. I am proud I am going to be a teacher someday.

He is not like any other teacher I have ever had. He is intense in the classroom. And he is by far the best teacher I have ever had. I am a first year teacher and he spends so much of his free time helping young students and teachers, I don't know now how he does it. He works so very hard and he practices what he preaches - and he does preach.

Just an awesome man! I was disappointed that I had to go to Motlow after high school, and I ended up with the best teacher anywhere! Just ask students who go to MTSU or TTU. No one comes close. I was very lucky to have had the chance to study under him.

Today is the last day of this class. I have found that Mr. Hix is such a caring person. I was not sure if I wanted to be a teacher or not, but I do now. He is a great teacher and made me think differently about the classroom. I am very sad that this class is coming to an end

I am a former student of Mr. Hix. He came to our school this summer to work with our students and conducted a STEM camp. He knows how to teach kids. They have never been so excited. One of my students said that due to his camp, he was going to be an engineer and stop global warming. You will never have a teacher who practices what he preaches

The best teacher I ever had. I can't wait to attend his class. I hope to take him next term, but he is always joking about being too old to go on. I hope not, I was not sure if I really wanted to be a teacher, but I know now. I have taking other edu teachers, but he is the only one that is worth taking.

What a good teacher. I can't believe that I am going to miss any class, but tonight is the last night of his class and I am going to miss his class so much. A great man.

I asked another teacher for a letter of recommendation for a job - and they never sent it. I asked Mr. Hix for a letter and he wrote a letter that night and then called the school where I was trying to get a job. That is the kind of man he is. He works hard for his students and I am so proud to have had him

Do you know what he does during the summers? He teaches STEM to poor kids. I know, for I had the chance to help him. He also worked with kids at public libraries and other programs. I have never seen someone do so much work for kids. He is an example of practicing what he says we should do. I am honored to say that I was his student.

He is such an inspiration! His lectures were interesting enough that the 3 12 night class went by quickly. My suggestions are attendance & participation. All of his assignments are baby stepped out - making it impossible to make a bad grade as long as you show up and complete the work.

He is a fair and kind teacher. He works so hard outside of the classroom - and he is the model of organization. Some of my other education teachers are a mess - mix up dates - don't give us guidelines on how to do things. But not Mr. Hix. I was lucky to have him. I also attended his star party that he does for the college - it was great!

What a good example of what a teacher should be. Do you know that he knew the name and address of every student in our class on the 2nd class meeting. I have many teachers who don't know our names at the end of the term. He mades you think and he is very kind. He is the hardest working teacher I have had. I hope to be like him someday.

His class is fun. You learn a lot and the stuff you learn is actually useful to your career. He is very understanding and caring. If I could take his classes every semester, I would. Such a wonderful professor.

He is the first teacher ever that I had at college that cared about his students. It kills me to think that he is retiring, for I wanted to take him in the fall. I was not sure if I wanted to be a teacher or not, but after his class, I wanted to be a teacher badly. Thank you Mr. Hix for all that you do for us as students!
