I cannot understand this guy. If you are not good with understanding Asian foreigners, this class is not for you.
Not a very difficult class (Multivariable). More than half of the class dropped. If you dont know Calc 1,2 and linear algebra, you'll be at a loss. Since there really isn't much new, just expanding stuff you've already done.

class was very easy. the professor is just hard to understand because of accent.
Hard to understand him. Boring class and he NEVER lets you out early. :(
cant understand his accent

He is a very bad teacher, he has trouble explaining things and answering questions. His accent is hard at first but, after awhile you can understand him. He told my class, "no more questions" and was really mad, because we were not understanding something!
I thought he was incredibly easy. As long as you attend class, you should be fine. He goes over everything on quizzes right before them and gave us a take home midterm. I would take him again.
Quite easy, but probably because he was assigned to teach the course last minute. Often feels as if he taught himself the material a day before lecturing on it. Gets tripped up when asked questions. Too much emphasis on methods that were later deemed "not so good" (one of his favorite expressions).
Does his belt need to wrap around him 1.5 times? I thought he was funny, not that he tried to be, but he was.
Very easy prof. Teaches material straight out of book. I would not recommend him because he does not invoke any new ideas or any interest in the subject. If you are looking for a challenge or are ACTUALLY interested in mathematics do not take him.

If your not to great at math..save yourself the time and money...wait for someone else!
He is not easy to understand at all. He talks like a human technical manual. He has one way and one way only of explaining things. If you don't understand it, don't bother asking. He will just verbatim say what he did the first time. He is a very nice person, though. He really tries, he just it not good at teaching what he knows.
Always had funny things to say. Pretty good at teaching this course, its very basic math. Takes attendance, but increase grade at the end of the semester 1% if less than 5 absences. Quiz every week :(
takes a day to fully understand him
great, classes are easy.
Overall a good teacher. Kind of hard to understand him at the beginning but you get used to it. Very helpful and funny. takes attendance and pretty easy quizzes every week.
He is a really good teacher with good teaching skills. Screwed me over we he said he would round my grade up I was kind of mad.
Great instructor! There's a quiz every week, but it really helps learn the material. As long as you show up and do the examples, the quizzes will be a breeze without attempting the homework. He puts all test, quiz, and homework answers on his website- very helpful before tests.
BingWu Wang. Oh my how i adore this man! One of the funniest, nicest teachers i've ever seen. Every class lesson was guaranted to be top notch! He explains everything clearly with good examples, weekly quiz's are beenficial and he try's his best and it shows results. TAKE HIM or you'll miss out on a wiked teacher. BING WU forumrula ahaha
Such a little cutie. He really is a good teacher and helpful. It wasn't that hard to get an A-. Take him, he knows his stuff.
Greatest, nicest professor. If you like math, you will find this an easy class. He gives you a take home midterm and there is a quiz every friday which i thought are very helpful. I got 100% on everything because he explained everything really well and the quiz questions came straight out of his examples or homework. Go 2 class and you'll do great!
One of my favorite teachers. I didn't find the subject to be difficult and probably would have been really bored in class but I think Wang is pretty interesting. Quizzes and exams are really easy if you have good notes and review them and do the homework. Nice guy who will help you if you are stuck.
Great Professor! I didn't do any of the hw, just went to class and got an A on everything. Gave a take home mid-term and about a half hour of studying was plenty for the final. TAKE THIS CLASS!
B WANG is the man. Very smart guy, great teaching methods. (Or as he would say methards). Hard to understand at first, however after 2 weeks you get used to it. He is a real upbeat positive dude I actually enjoyed going to this math class!!! Two thumbs up.
Bingwu Wang is a great Prof. I hate math and never understood it until I had him. He has an accent, but he is still easy to understand. He makes math easy to understand for everyone. He takes attendance, but if you come everyday, he raises your final grade percentage by 1% which can help. I recommend him for anyone who has trouble with math.
He is really good math teacher. Even though he has an accent he is easy to understand. You get to drop your two lowest quiz grades, and he is very helpful. I would recomend Wang to anyone who has trouble with math.
I loved Wang. He made math easier to understand. His accent was not a big deal at all. He is so cute, and his attempts at jokes are really funny :] He drops the two lowest quizzes, which altogether are not too difficult at all. The exams were fairly short and not too hard either. Awesome professor, easy class, loved it :]
I loved BingWu sooo much! I have been trying to take other math classes with him, because I am terrible at math and have never liked it, but he makes it understandable! He is so funny and I have been telling everyone to take at least one of his classes!
very good teacher he likes math and you can tell homework is not collected but it will show if you dont do it there is a quiz every week and only 2 tests the midterm and a final over all a bood teacher and i would take another one of his clases
Excellent teacher! Bingwu is one of the best math teachers I have ever had! He takes it slow and builds your math skills all semester. Straightforward weekly quizzes help your overall grade. One midterm and final. Study from the quizes and you will be fine for both. Also homework is not mandatory, but it is helpful.
This class was really easy. He's a little hard 2 understand but most the material is from old classes. He drops your 2 lowest quizzes but they are really easy!

The professor gives easy tests, his quizzes are open book/notes, and he gives you 1% extra credit for a good attendance record. His accent makes it extremely difficult to understand him, but he's so easy that the lack of clarity isn't an issue. He doesn't require you turn in homework.
He's a little hard to understand sometimes but overall I think he's a pretty good teacher. His quizzes and tests are all pretty easy and he drops the two lowest ones. He makes little jokes here and there and tries to explain things in simple terms for people.
Didn't understand anything from the first day of class, but got an A
So many people in my class had no clue what was going on.. I thought it was a breeze. If you learned anything about math in high school, then it should be ridiculously easy. He is so cute with his little jokes! And he makes things really clear and to the point. Follows his syllabus exactamento.
This teacher is pretty damn good, his only problem is his Asian accent(no body laugh at his jokes).Quizes and tests are so easy that I got an A as a breeze.HW are for practice(not graded), he drops the worst two quizes and he also give 1% extra to the total average if your attendance is good. Some times you will see extra credit.Highly recommended
This professor is awesome! He sometimes is hard to understand but grades really easy! FUNNY!
hard to understand but easy class, weekly quizes are from the notes, midterm and final are from the quizes, he's also lenient in grading
Good teacher, kind of hard to understand. He wants you to do well and he cares. Quizzes are pretty easy as are the tests.
Professor Wu is the greatest, he's hilarious, knowledgable and interested. He's more than willing to help during his office hours, and prepares the students extremely well for the quizzes and tests.

Bingwu is difficult to understand initially, but you get used to him. He makes clear illustrations and spends a plentiful amount of time on each concept. Grading scale is more than fair, and helps you focus on learning rather than keeping up a certain number.
If math isnt your subject, fear not because he will make you feel like a math wiz.Hes such an easy grader on quizes. He doesnt collect homework but you have quizes once a week, but theyre only ever about 3 problems.Seriously easy TAKE HIS CLASS!
He is a great professor. Not a difficult grader. Explains things in depth and clearly. Homework every class but does not check. Quizzes every week but only 3 or 4 questions. A little hard to understand at first but you'll get used to it. Easy A
If Bingwu taught every math course at EMU, I would be a math major. He is awesome!
Not a blow off class. You should probably put 4 to 6 hours a week if you want to understand the material. Definetly a really good professor, one of my fav.
Very nice guy and shows alot of enthusiasm and humor when teaching. His accent is not that bad and he doesn't speak in any broken English. Get ready to do Homework everyday and go to his office hours when needed if you expect to get an "A".
He is a wonderful math professor! I had him for the fall 2012 semester. He knows his stuff and explains concepts really well. He assigns homework for each section but it is not collected or graded. Theres a quiz once a week ,and its usually only 3-4 problems. I would definitely recommend him! He also is very funny
Excellent professor. I've had him for Algebra II, Trigonometry, and Calculus. He's and excellent professor, cares very much about your understanding, grades fairly, and is always available to help.
Made calculus easy to understand. Ungraded homework everyday, but it really helped for the weekly quizzes. Tests were based on quizzes, and let you use note card for the cumulative final. Extra credit for attendance. VERY lenient for grading; so long as the process is right, you'll get full credit, even if your answer is off.
Very concerned with your understanding easy to understand once you get used to his accent. Quizzes are once a week and exams are based on what's incorporated on quiz. makes math easy to understand
He grades fairly easy. The hardest part of his class is understanding his accent. Once you get past that, class will be a pretty typical math-lecture class.
His accent is easy to get used to. He does have a sense of humor. Homework is not graded and he only suggests 15-20 problems each week. Quizzes are once a week as well but they are max 3-5 questions and exactly from the homework. Exams are based on the quizzes. If you hate math-take him! Lectures are simple and to the point-he is a great teacher!
I've always hated math and have only been average at it, but Professor Wang makes it so easy and straightforward! His class was a really easy A, and like I said, I'm not great at math. He's also super cute like he makes jokes, is passionate about math, and is overall very likable :) Would definitely take him again.
Good professor. Has an accent but its easy to get over. Fair grader, simple quizzes. Really makes sure you understand the material.
Quiz once a week, 2 Tests. Lets you have a sheet with equations and formulas for the tests. He's a good teacher. If you try, you should be able to pass. Homework not graded.
This teacher is amazing. Best math teacher in the whole department. You will never regret taking his math class. I am terrible at math but he is helpful and makes his goal to make his students pass. He is like a friend.
Great!
The best math professor in his field. Makes difficult concepts very easy to understand. Gives homework everyday for practice but also solves it for you next day, do those and you are all set. Extremely intelligent, helpful and knowledgeable. Makes learning easy by the way he teaches. Take him if you want to learn, be good at math & get a good grade
One of the best math professors I've ever had. Attendance isn't optional, however if you attend most of his classes, he'll give you extra credit at the end of the semester. Final was lightweight and took half of the period. Real chill prof, will be taking him again in the future.
Great teacher! Easy to follow & understand. Show up, take notes, do the optional hw, and you will pass with an A. Quiz every week, helps you to know material and prepares you for the 2 exams. Funny, when you least expect it. Would take another math class with him as my teacher! EC at the end of semester if you come to class everyday.
I love this guy, he really wants his students to succeed and he's a funny guy. There's a quiz almost every week and only 2 exams. If you read the book and do homework problems on the stuff you don't understand you should be set for an A. He lets you have a cheat sheet too for the exams.
He is great, explains things in multiple ways and can answer the questions asked in different ways until you understand. Homework is optional but is closely related to the weekly quizzes and exams. He is silly and engaging which encourages class participation. Do the homework and ask questions in class and you will do great with the professor.
This was a very difficult course, but he always took the time to make sure you understood the material. Homework was optional, but I highly recommend it since his quizzes are based off the assignments. Overall, if you work hard and seek help, this class isn't going to be too bad
"is that right"
All lectures, weekly quizzes(he drops 2). Cheat sheets on the exams. If you show up every day he takes it for 1% of extra credit. Only grades are quizzes and exams. You have to care to really do well with him.
Everyone else explains his grading well. I'll add that he is very boring and it can be hard to focus. He teaches a lot of unnecessary stuff, and will never let you leave early. The class is not hard. It is just hard to stay focused. The book is used for hw but I never did any and did fine. Im taking him again next semester so hes not that bad.
Homework isn't graded or turned in so it is only for practice. There's a quiz every week which counts for most of the grade and the lowest two quiz scores are dropped. For the midterm and final you can bring a cheat sheet. He had a review day before the final and I HEAVILY recommend you go to that he is very clear about what to know for the final.
If you hate math take trig with him. Literally the easiest teacher to take this class with. As long as you do the homework the quizzes are easy. Period.
I loved having him as a teacher. He would tell us stories about how certain math came to be and it usually ended up hilarious. Homework was not graded but it correlated closely to the weekly quizzes. He struggled a little but to help students who did not understand but he always had great intentions! Best math professor at EMU.
Allows cheat sheets on the exams, drops the 2 lowest quiz scores (out of 10) and gives a 1% bonus for excellent (every day) attendance. Partial credit all the way. Very wonderful to learn from!
This is my second time having Wang. I don't love him, but he's the best math prof I've had at EMU. He assigns daily non graded hw from the book, which I never opened once, and I ended up with a B. Weekly quizzes, but he's a super chill grader. As long as you make an effort, you should get a B on most things. One easy semester project.
I had Wang for Linear Algebra and this time for Calc 3. The class grade depended almost entirely on the midterm exam and the final exam, both of which he allows a cheat sheet for. He even had a review day before the exams and told us EXACTLY what to prepare for. The other third of the grade was from weekly quizzes, the lowest two scores are dropped
He really tried to engage us and make it as easy as possible. Sometimes he didnt know how to answer questions but he tries. If youre not a math major and just want to pass, take him. Hes an easy grader!! Attendance helps your grade!
Homework is assigned but not graded. The textbook doesn't help and is only used for homework. The professor is hard to understand due to accent and will not explain quiz results to you. He doesn't like picture (of board, homework, ect.) When comparing quizzes with other classmates you'll realize you'll have the same answers but different grades.
He is so nice and funny, I loved taking trig with him. He is very lenient and easygoing, if youre not passing its probably because youre not putting in the effort or youre not asking for help.
He actually cares about the subject that he is teaching and will do everything in his power to help you understand the concept. He will make jokes, stories and will draw diagrams in order to cement the concepts. Although don't waste your money on the book, you won't ever use it if you take good notes and use khan academy.
Professor Bingwu Wang is an excellent teacher. He really goes out of his way to make sure you learn and understand and is very flexible. He has a tendency to say "is that right?" after he makes a point (so beware aware of that, but you get used to it) but aside from that he is excellent all-around as a teacher. Would highly recommend this class.
Dr. Wang is very kind and understanding. He is always open to questions and is a very fair grader. He sometimes can go a little too fast during lectures but will slow down if asked. He makes it very clear what he expects on tests and always reviews with the class before the exam. I would definitely recommend him!
My course with Wang was not a bad one. It was probably his first time teaching online, which is difficult for many teachers in 2020, and taking Wang through an asynchronous course had its ups and downs. My main criticism is the weekly lectures. I would listen to some lofi-beats in the background with the lectures. They were very monotone.
I had Professor Wang for an online asynchronous course because of COVID19, and it was great. I only had to watch two videos a week, which can be a little lengthy at times and he is somewhat monotone, but overall he makes the math process very clear. I already signed up for another online course with him.
I had a standard online course with Dr. Wang. No meetings or anything. He posted two videos per week as his lectures. If you don't watch these videos, you won't understand the course material and will fail. There weren't a bunch of tests, but they were a good chunk of the grade. He did an excellent job and I'm taking him again for trig.
He post two lectures a week, sometimes they were lengthy. He also gives two homework assignments a week he gives you all semester to complete them but there are a lot of problems. But, he gives you the answers at the end of the lectures. Also, he grades test really weird and difficult.
This class had 3 hw assignments per week that took me 3-5 hours each. I took the math problems to tutors for almost every assignment and the tutors couldn't even solve some of these problems. Be prepared to teach yourself, the lectures are so confusing.
He gave 3 video lectures and 3 homework assignments a week. The videos were very helpful and provided a lot of examples that directly applied to tests and homeworks. The homework took forever more often than not so time management is important.
There are 3 lectures per week that average 45 minutes each. The class wouldn't be so bad if lectures and homework were cut down. You will spend HOURS working on homework in this class and you won't get credit for your solutions if you don't show detailed work.
I took math 112 and he gives out so much hw!!! I was trying my hardest to keep up and one bad week kept me behind for good! Then I got sick and it made me even more behind. He uses these easy examples and expects us to do these math problems that are way harder. Long story short hes not the professor of me.
I spent 5-6 hours a night 2x a week trying to complete homework for this class. Until I got sick and had to take a week off and then have not be able to recover since.
This guy gives about 10-12 hours of homework a week, his video lectures are absolute trash because he can barely speak English. This class was only worth 2 credits, felt like a 4 credit class. He gives ZERO details on what the exams are going to be on or how they will be formatted, it was like a big surprise F-U when it came time to take it.
why he has a 4 rating makes no sense to me!! LOTS OF HW, midterm was graded so heavily even though we tried so hard. Videos made 0 sense because he used examples way easier than the hw. IF U CAN AVOID AVOID!!!! GOOD LUCK IF U TAKE HIM. So mean wehn u email him
He's an okay professor, I liked how he gave credit for late hw. If you take him DON'T miss assignments because it will be really hard to catch up. 2 assignments per week, classes are lecture. He has an accent but easy to understand once you get used to. Midterm was really hard, for final he gave a practice exam that helped me get an A+ on the final
Expect 10+ hours of homework a week, if you are sick or miss a week for whatever reason good luck catching back up. The midterm and final make up %50 of your grade and expect to spend 3+ hours on them.
He makes sure you know the material and explains it super well. He allows you to have a cheat sheet on the exams and gives you a practice exam almost exactly like the one you'll take. He only gives you 2-3 HW assignments a week which you can submit for late credit. He is very nice, funny, and a good communicator with assignments and exams.
Dr. Wang is awesome! Super helpful on homework questions; 2 lectures and 2 assignments per week. He responds to emails super fast.
I was supposed to be in an in person class and this professor only has lectures online, you get to do them in your own time which is nice, but I wanted an in person class and i find it wrong and that he sort of scammed me, hes also horrible at explaining and does not go over why he writes things down, he just writes and is like yeah thats it.
If you want an A get ready to spend at least 2 hours/ week on homework. He assigns a TON of homework and the questions are long, but there is only one midterm and then the final. He had literally 5 hours of online office hours this semester and he would literally write out the solution for you whenever you asked.
His lecture videos are great.Hw takes awhile to finish sometimes. He emailed me back in the same day when I needed help on a problem(his response helped me solve it).I turned in multiple assignments late near the end of the semester and got full points(A day late). Mid term and final exam were easy we had the whole day no time limit to finish them.
This "in person" class is all online. The scheduled class time is used as office hours and no content is taught. You are paying for access to youtube videos containing the lesson and the homework for that day. The videos pass over many of the in-between steps needed to solve the homework problems. The professor is also hard to understand.
Get ready to do a lot of homework. He posts two lectures each week that have a homework assignment along with them. There is also a Midterm and Final exam.
I really enjoyed Prof Wang since he does these really interesting slides that apparently takes a really long time to make and it shows. Especially for calc 3, he manages to make clear notes and his class was the easiest to really grasp. I struggled in Calc 1 and 2, yet calc 3 was the most fun to try to understand, try to do the homework though.
He makes you watch hour-long videos for lectures and assigns so much homework during the week. Do not take his class bro
I have never been so bored during an online lecture in my life. This class is difficult solely because the videos are just painful to watch. It's unfortunate because he knows what he is talking about and he puts a lot of effort into his content, but each assignment takes me 8 hours to complete because I would rather do literally anything else.
This class is easy to pass as long as you do the homework and pay attention to the lectures.
Make sure to pay attention during class, and put in the time that he says you should.
