Dr. Tran first impressed me by providing printed lecture notes for every student every class. Organized and stapled, these notes were sufficient to study for his tests AND the network certification test. Dr. Tran worked behind the scenes to provide a Network Certification test environment at our college. Overall a wonderful experience.

Dr. Tran made Itec fun. At first I thought it was ridiculous I had to take the class as credit but I really appreciate it now. He taught me ways to be more efficient with programs I already use like word, PowerPoint, excel, etc.

A fantastic professor Ive already taken multiple times. Although it is an easy A, make no mistake that you must pay attention. His lectures arent exactly extensive as much as they are concise. If you take plenty of notes, theres not much wiggle room to fail.

Taking Dr. Tran for networking has been a comprehensive and fulfilling experience, mostly due to the fact that we can get a basic networking certificate at the end of the course. He whiteboards everything for clarity and makes sure all students are on board before he moves on the next chapter.

Most days consisted of note taking while Dr. Tran stood and talked while using the white board to write down notes and explain concepts. His attitude was very upbeat, and his explanations were easy to understand. Each chapter had a quiz that heavily relied on spoken notes. The course's preparation for the MTA was very great and helpful.

I took Binh Tran in ITEC 3100. So far hes one of the best professors at GGC. His lectures are on point. You just have to show up everyday, take notes and also study his handouts and you will be fine. Dr. Tran is, hands down, the best IT prof at GGC. He brings in various routers as visual tools to help with the lectures. He takes the class to the network lab to build cables to help with the understanding of the content. I would recomend him to everyone!

Obviously, there are other criteria to judge a professor by. He gives free hand out during each class, that means you really don't have to get the textbook. Then, study it well.

If you haven't had him yet as a teacher, you are missing out. This professor not only has study guides for his tests but helps prepare students for outside tests and exams that are more useful than the class' grade. Is highly qualified and does not let this get in the way of the course schedule. I love this guy.

I came into his class knowing very little about computer networks, and left his class understanding so much that I was almost tempted to change my concentration to computer networks. This is among one of the most practical professors I have ever had the pleasure of being taught by. Dr Tran has the outstanding ability to translate and simplify the dull and the theoretical into English. Among one of his first lectures, he discussed switches and used himself as an example. I walked away that day with a full grasp of switches. Wow.

Professor Tran is great! He explains everything thoroughly and gives time to answer questions. He is very understanding and kind. You do have to show up to class in order to pass, as all notes taken during class get submitted and graded for participation. Overall, would most definitely recommend!

Honestly, hes a great professor. He is very straight forward and to the point when giving lectures and taking notes. Make sure to attend class and to do assigned homework early. Constantly review material and youll do well. Also very generous in keeping the Dropbox open if youve forgotten to turn something in. The class itself is very enjoyable.

He's a friendly professor that knows you exist and has engaging lectures, that make you interested in topics you wouldn't think you would find interesting. The class goes by very quickly, and as long as you do the homework and study for the quizzes you should have a high B if not an A. 100% recommend the professor!

Professor Tran is by far my favorite professor. He takes notes along with you in class, he makes sure that you understand the material, and his quizzes are very easy and straight forward. If you see an opening for his class my best advice is to take it.

Great professor helping his students learn the material and also gain industry experience. His class alone allowed me to apply for and get an internship and I cannot think him enough!

He is a kind and genuine professor. The structure of his class is quite simple. If he is doing notes, then you do the notes as well. If he highlights something important, then you best highlight it in your notes too. All of the materials he covers will be on the quizzes, so make sure you study the notes you take in class. Rinse and repeat.

He is very good at giving the information that you need all you need to is do the work and your fine. The work consist of taking notes doing homework and then the following week a quiz on the notes.

Every week we have either a lab or quiz on the lab, and there's a single midterm and final exam, which is actually the real networking certification exam, so by the end of this course, you can be legitimately certified in networking! Took him for Networks. From the very first class, he made things very clear and put perspective on each of the ITEC concentrations. The class is structured very well and theres lots of reinforcement of concepts. This makes it easy to learn the material and ultimately apply it to the networking certification exam. Would definitely take him again.

Professor Bihn Tran is an amazing professor and makes ITEC 1001 easy. He goes over the material in class and you type the notes he provides on your own computer. The notes are a grade which is an easy "A" and weekly quizzes are based off the notes which are easy as well. Assignments are straight forward and easy. I highly recommend taking him!

Dr. Trans lectures were never boring and I always felt like the material we were learning was relevant in and outside of class.

Every chapter starts with a lecture and in-class discussion, followed by a homework assignment on the chapter, an in-class activity, and then a quiz for the chapter. His lectures are great, and as long as you pay attention and take your time on the assignments, you'll do fine. He also gives out packets of notes so studying for tests is a breeze.

There are a few things which make Dr. Tran stand out from the rest. 1st, his class directly prepares you for the cert exam in networking which can help in your career. 2nd, his class scheduling is predictable and you never come to class unsure of what's going to happen that day. Dr. Tran is actually a great professor. The lecture can get boring, but you learn a lot! He has strict deadlines, but you have plenty of time to finish his work if you put in the effort. I couldve got an A, but I slacked nearing the end of the semester (my fault), but overall its a very easy class. He also replies quickly if you need anything.

I went into this class computer inept, but thanks to Dr. Tran's incredibly thorough lectures (and use of online simulations) I am now proficient in Office applications.

Look he has 600+ 5 star ratings for a reason. He's funny, knows his stuff front back and sideways, he's accessible, knowledgeable about the industry, gives SOLID ADVICE - if you can, take him. Even if you're not an ITEC major, take him. He's that good. Also, you get an entry level certification that he goes above and beyond to prepare you for.

I've been using desktops since I was four and knew everything there was to networking and troubleshooting having used routers, modems, and gateways and have meshi wi-fi at home and used ethernet cables from the past. He is the best professor to introduce networking to. This class made me go from 3/5 to 5/5 for networking troubleshooting.

Dr. Tran is a very good professor, his semester is planned out very well. He spent the entire semester preparring us for a certification exam and because of that it was very easy. His lectures are succint and he doesn't waste class time. There is one quiz and one homework lab per week that are easy to do if you're present and attentive in class.

Dr Tran is by far the best professor you can take for Intro to Networks! From the very beginning of the semester, he makes it very clear with his instructions and assignments that they will prepare you for the certification exam. If you show up, pay attention, and review his quizzes and other study materials, you will pass the certification easily.

I know it shows I got a C, but that is due to my own problems not bc of Dr. Tran. Even with my hectic life, he cared that I understood content and had fair opportunity for success. That is my current grade pre final, extra credit, and any makeup! He is funny, and he's also very smart. I use excel to write my grocery budget now bc of his class!
