Mr. Khana is a great teacher and you learn alot. If you study, you will learn AND pass.
Great guy, I learned a lot in both 201 and 202. Take his class!
This class is hard! But if you read and study hard you'll pass. Khana is a helpful teacher, but he is really fast past, he rushes through everything; so don't be intimidated to speak up in class! This class is only based on video question and 3 exams and 1 final exam. I am taking him right now!
as long as u show up and do ur work....youll pass. if anyone needs help...i have the econ 201 books and all of his exams LOL.....
He's a nice guy, but his teaching isn't very good at all and to make it worst he gives hard tests, all in all your left studying by yourself, I passed the class with a C, after good amount of studying
i cant understand the guy and his videos are from the 80s, they just dont make much sense.....he doesnt teach very well at all...we need a new economics teacher at that school
Quite good - i enjoyed his classes. You have to write a bunch of little one page essays based on videos which are fairly easy to do. He has a sense of humor and is very helpful - gives good explanations. He's also very patient which is great if you're having trouble understanding something.
In regards to the comments posted on 5/12. I have no idea what this person is talking about! The videos are very interesting and the professor has a real passion for teaching. He is very helpful and excellent at advising students. I admit that you do have to work hard but what do you expect? This isn't high school. I would take his class again!
Nice guy and will work out problems u might have. Jus study and apply urself and ull b more than ok.
one of the best at nova!
He is very good at what he does.. only few professors are like him, he is the best @ nova if you wanna take econ.
very passionate, and good with grading..

Khana rocks! He's a great teacher ... he's very passionate about economics and makes it easy to understand! Favorite class this semester ... he's THE BEST professor I've had at NOVA.
he is awesome
Good Econ instructor. He uses powerpoint slides so you always have access to the notes. Gives practical examples and ample opportunity is given to earn a desireable grade with effort on your part
I took this class a year ago. The exams were only midly difficult if you study and only a portion of the grade. I took the hybrid course, and you get to RETAKE the ONLINE quizes as much as you want. The assignments I found easy and fun because you get to draw a picture with them for CREDIT. I also enjoyed lecture because of the way he talks. ;)
He is a good teacher. If you ask him for help he is willing to help you. I loved the quizzes because they were open book. It really helped me. Make sure you study for the tests some of the questions are the same from the quizzes. I was close to an A but I ended up with a B. I recommend anyone to take him!
He's a great teacher, I'm not too hot about those video questions, but he's very helpful if you have any questions and I relate well to his style of teaching
Prof. Khana is a wonderful, caring man that does everything in his power to ensure his students do well and understand the material. There were no tricks on his tests (3), and we took online quizzes after every chapter, which we were allowed to use our books for guidance. I am really grateful I got the opportunity to be a student in his class!
I thought he was a horrible teacher! Very hard to understand. And his video questions take WAY too long to complete.. Definitely dont take this class with him if you work full time or have other obstacles. It was very hard for me to find time to watch all the videos and write papers on them.
He is soo great. I took him for micro and macro, and prolli bus statistics too, he practically throws extra credit at you. Those video questions suck, they're twice as old as me, but it's w/e
very easy course. gives open book quizes. the worst part is video questions, but so much extra credit its an easy A, and on top of that you learn stuff
He's a great teacher and all of his quizzes are open book and his exams are straight from those quizzes so overall the testing was easy but the only thing I didn't like was the videos. They're old and they make no sense whatsoever. If you work full time, don't take his class. He is, however, still a great teacher.
Taking Micro with him now. He's great. I nearly failed Econ 201, but with this guy, I understand everything. I'm so relieved-I thought I was going to fail this one too! He's very willing to help out.
Mr. Khana is a really good teacher..very helpful and explain everything well. If you print his slide show power points then you'll be fine. you shud however look at the ch. in the book. the Exams come from the Open Book quizess you take. you have a quiz every week on Wed. NO homework, except for a 15 page report paper due before the end of a semest
Great teacher
Good Teacher. IF YOU DO NOT TEST WELL THIS IS A GOOD CLASS TO TAKE. You may not do so well on his tests, but there are online quizzes, article questions, and video questions, which ultimatly raise ur grade. On ALL QUIZZES there is an opportunity to make 5 extra credit pts., on video questions EVEN MORE, and 50 pt.extra credit exam given at end. :)
easy class. I missed 20% of class and i still got an a. Use textbooks on quizes and tests come directly from those!!
This professor is probably the best professor in the economics department. I would highly suggest taking his hybrid class. Everything is online except for the exams(which are easy and straight forward). His online quizzes are open book and he gives a 50 point extra credit assignment towards the end of the semester. Take him!
This teacher is great. I did end up failing his class only because I choose to stop showing up and never took the final exam but I got As on his first two exams(you only take 3) and I got an A on the one paper we had to turn in. The only other grading you do are online/open book quizzes every week. You'd have to try and fail not to pass this class.
He usually does his lectures one class per week, the other day is just a open book quiz or you can take it online. If you attend reguraly to the lectures you will do fine in his class.
I really do not like this teacher I think he's a jerk and he really doesn't care what you think. But, in the end the class is really easy if you do the work.
Wack, not understanding at all, but easy as it gets. If you want to learn more effectively in a fun enviornment take Jerry Newsome. If you want easy A just do dumb online assignments for Khana.
The class itself is boring. All you do is watch the notes that he has on the screen, which are online so technically you dont even NEED the class persay but after the first class, everyone stopped coming, and only came on days of quizes and tests, which is the quizes are every other class. He himself has no enthusiasm. very boring.
i love his accent...so hot.
Great Teacher! Straight to the point. Curves exam.
It requires a lot of studying
An easy professor who gives all assignments online. Only problem with his assignments is the online quiz which he gives you 3 attempts but give you a date in which you have to complete each attempt. Wonder why he just doesn't give us the 3 attempts and let us choose when we want to do them. Lecuture are ok never completely answers a question.
He helped me learn basic economics. 6 years later, I have a masters degree in econ from VT
Very helpful resources were used. All resources were targeted to keep the class interesting and relating to cuurent economic issues. I will take his class anytime. Was actually sad when class was over.
He's a pretty good professor, if you attend his lectures and do the assignments you cant fail. the quizzes are online and open book, the exams you MUST study for they're closed book in class. but overall the class is good, i'd recommend it
He's a great professor. Easy A class, just show up and do the online quizzes. Some of the online quiz questions are on the exam so study those.
Took him for 201 and 202 his class is EASY granted 202 was harder than 201. Do ALL the online assignments and you can get an A/B even with D's and C's on all the test. His is a very nice teacher but sometimes gets a little confusing. I deffinatly recommend him if you need to take ECO.
This is not an easy A class like many other posts claimed. Yes, you can use the textbook for the online quizzes, but they are VERY time-consuming.DO THE XTRA CREDIT! The tests are HARD. Even with an interest in the topic, the lectures are BORING and the graphs are confusing. I know a lot of people like this professor, but this class wasn't for me.
Mr. Khana is a great professor! Every week is the same thing, chapter summary on one day, and the next is the review questions which is worth 10 points, the at home quizzes are easy as long as you have the book in front of you, the article's are easy, he may be hard to understand at first, but I'm defiantly taking him for 202! Easy A!
He is my adviser. Very nice guy. Helpful and courteous. His class is on the boring side, but if you keep up its okay. He is always in his office and will practically tutor you. He has an thick accent. Some people don't care for it but he speaks English better than me and I was born in America. To each is own...
Mr. Khana is a great professor! He was very helpful and nice. I took both 201&202 with him. I definitely recommend him!
1st ONLINE class & great experience. With his online classes, you can really work at your own pace. You get up to 25% extra credit on each test! All test questions are straightforward. I received an A in this class while I received a C in MacroECO. However, this online class definitely requires you to read & understand what your reading.
No comment. JUST TAKE HIM!!
I took Mr. Khana for Economics 201 & I was pleased! He is really nice and VERY helpful if you ask for help. We didn't really use the book that much, he relies HEAVILY on the pp slides he creates..he also gives lots of extra credit opportunites. Accent is VERY thick, which is why I gave such a low clarity rating. He's hard to understand sometimes.
I took Khana for both of my Econ classes. Before taking his class I had no interest in being an Econ major but he made the class so intriguing that I changed my major to Econ. I would recommend everyone to take this class. Very helpful and a great teacher. Also gives a lot of extra credit so getting an A is possible even if you bomb one exam.
He was a very nice teacher. I failed all of the exams, and I did all the extra credit work. I just didn't understand ECON as well. I am retaking with a different professor, because this one didn't work for me.
great teacher, relies on powerpoint slides so no textbook needed! no homework, just blackboard quizzes with multiple attempts each week on the chapter learned. Also, gives out up to 20 points extra credit on each exam. none are accumulative. will take eco 202 with him this semester!
Prof. Khana was tough, he does not give study guides, he does not tell you exactly whats going to be on his exam. I do not recommend him to anyone!!!!!!
No reason you should not have an A. He offers so much extra credit I finished with a 104. Quizzes are online and have unlimited attempts. The only reason you will not pass is if you do not study or do your homework or extra credit. He is nice but strict and wants you to learn and pass. Take him! Finished with a 104 for crying out loud!
I came into this class with no interest in econ, it is just a requirement. His class is very boring but, if you ask, he will clarify everything for you. Assignments are a little tough, but its college people. At times this accent is difficult to understand, but he will repeat slowly if you do not hear him correctly. Uses a lot of videos as well.
Offers extra credit, and the online tests are open book and multiple attempt. If you have the book you should have an A, if not your looking at a B unless your a wiz at economics. Attend the lectures, thats really the key to success here.
Great professor he offers sooo much extra credit it is nearly impossible to fail this class. Just do the work and you will succeed with an excellent grade.
Knows his stuff when it comes to economics and knows how to make you understand it too. He has a pretty thick accent, so if that's a problem you probably shouldn't take his class.
A lot of extra credit. Show up to class, read the chapters, and do the homework. For tests study the quizes and you should at least get a B.
Lots of extra credit given! Study the quizzes for the tests and you will get an A. I rented the textbook but never used it.
He was great! He has a strong accent, but if you can get past that he definitely knows his stuff and his lectures are pretty interesting! He also offers a lot of extra credit opportunities so if you do poorly on a test you can definitely make up for it! I wish I had taken him for ECO201 as well.
Professor Khana is great! I really do not like Economics but he explains everything perfectly. He provides a lot of extra credit too. If you just study before the test, do all the homework, and the extra credit, you will be just fine. He has a bit of an accent, but you get used to it.
I liked his class, he really knew his information and could explain it fairly well. He does make you work to learn the material on your own though, there were a lot of out of class assignments and quizzes, and the tests are pretty difficult. If you keep up with your work and do the extra credit it's not to hard!
He as a person is great. But math comes hard enough for me already, and this class did not help much. I really feel like only math lovers would do good in this class, only because they probably already know the material. I wish I would've seen a more honest review before paying for the class. If you're great at math already, you'll do great.
This professor, for this class, basically reiterates the text book. So, if you do not understand the text book, you do not understand the lectures. The homework isn't hard but it can be tedious if you take the once a week class. If you can read the text and understand after a small lecture, by all means take this class. Otherwise, save yourself.
You can take online quizzes multiple times and he gives extra credit. If you take advantage of these things it will make for an easy A. While helpful he wants to see students trying first. Shows cool and interesting videos. Took him for 2 classes and found them fairly easy and interesting. You will get used to his accent!
Gives you ample attempts to do well on assignments. Extra credit on all quizzes and multiple attempts allowed. The exams are tough but they are similar to the quizzes so if you do well on those you'll be golden. Wish I could take him again. Non-mandatory attendance for dynamic classes but worth attending because his lectures are insightful.
I really slacked off this semester, but I still ended with a C, I hate economics but professor Khana is so enthusiastic about it and really tries to help. His accent is not hard to understand I don't know why that's even brought up.
when you do the online m/c HW do it 4x for each chapter & study the question/ answers and you'll get an A on the exam. He gives way too much x-tra credit. took him for 201 & got an A. Read the textbook, PPT, and STUDY THE HOMEWORK & do them x-tra credits & you'll get an A. Pay attention to lecture he explains A LOT
I believe he's a good teacher. The class can be hard if it's your first econ class ever so pay attention if that's the case. Take notes, and do the extra credit. It helps a lot, and do your best on the homework. He isn't that tough of a grader. Overall good teacher, just make sure to read, listen, and study.
SUPER EASY. He builds in so much extra credit you wont even need to read the final and you will still get an A.
plenty of extra credit, Econ. was not a good subject for me so I don't feel I learned much, did the work just to get a good grade, take a re-take quizzes to improve score, attendance counts for review and showing up (10 points each) Go to class, read the chapters before hand and you should be fine.
Economics is a difficult class in general. He answers questions, and breezes by stupid comments getting right back on track. Read the book, do a little studying with youtube, and show up to class. He's funny, shows very relevant videos and the tests are definitely something you can't guess on. Take his class if you want to be engaged and learn.
If you don't already know about econ DO NOT take his class. Strict and not very open to help outside of classroom. Had to go to tutoring to just try and pass this class. Newsome is a better Professor!
Very knowledgeable about economics, but the class is a lot of information. He has an accent so you need to listen and you need to go to class. The class moves quickly in lecture and his test are not easy. He gives extra through homework, I worked hard for a C.
I took Prof Khana for ECO201 and ECO202 because he was that good of a teacher. Homework assignments are all online and you can attempt them multiple times. Built in extra credit into every assignment and test so there should be no way to fail the course. Tests were the same kind of information from the homework so there are no surprises.
The class is pretty easy if you just read the book, however, the lectures aren't very coherent. He gets kind of confused when someone asks him a question. He puts extra credit in every hw and every test. so getting an A or B isn't very challenging.
I'm taking his class for summer. He's actually no help at all and its hard to understand him. He does give extra credit homework tho. i have him for only five weeks so i have to be on top of everything.
He is a great professor because he helps by explaining you the online quizzes we do and you have a midterm and final which are a little hard but as long as you study you will pass
great professor
He knows (+loves) his field and explains everything very well! I took him for a 5-week summer course and he kept us very busy, which was to be expected in such a short amount of time. Nevertheless, easy A with a little bit of effort! Homework is easy, multiple attempts for quizzes, cheat sheet allowed for tests, + extra credit opportunities!
Don't take this class! I'm sure the professor has a quota to fail students. Save yourself don't take this class.
The lectures were usually all over the place and he didn't really explain thing in class well. I wouldn't recommend taking him as a hybrid class because he gives you a heavy workload outside of class. He also doesn't do any extra credit so you just have to try your hardest to get a good grade.
He's a cool professor. He offers 10 points of extra credit for the three exams you take. Theres unlimited tries at the homework quizzes he assigns and they're not too difficult. His lectures are boring, but it is easy to pass his class if you do all the extra credit and do well on the homework.
Exact same format as ECO201, 3 exams, a quiz per chapter online w/ unlimited attempts, and extra credit w/ each exam. Lectures are boring and it is the quizzes that will help most with exams. He is a nice professor and loves answering questions, and an A in his class is very doable with some studying the day before.
He gives you 3 chances to take the same homework and 2 chances for tests! Hes a great professor when it comes to being respectful and considerate. His lectures were pretty boring since he just reads from the power point but other a nice professor.
Average Professor at best, reads directly off the power points so it is boring. Homework may be confusing, test are mostly easy. However, when it comes to attitude and responses to students, he can be quite rude. Had an instance where class when cancelled and he still wanted to us to go for the test, had to email him and my counselor repeatedly.
He is a great professor- Absolutely love his lecture strategy! If you attended the class and listen to lectures carefully, you won't need to study outside of the class.
He is a great professor. The class was pretty chill and he's very kind and considerate to his students. I would def take him again
He is a great professor. Very simple and straight to the point, he gives out a lot of extensions for homework!
Legendary teacher, the quizzes are easy and the homework is easy. He is a nice teacher and always asks if anyone has any questions. He makes it easy to understand and is an amazing teacher all around. actual GOAT.
Manageable work load. I don't care for econ. so lectures were boring for me. Professor Khana is straight forward and clear about deadlines and the course topics. If you need clarification on something, he will make sure you understand. Overall, he's pretty chill.
He might not be for everyone, but for me, he was a good professor. He cares if you succeed or not. He is very CLEAR about how to prepare for the tests. So, not doing the readings, homework, or practice questions, will not help you succeed in this course. He also gives extra credits, if you don't do well on the exams, to make up some points.
Bipin is an amazing teacher! There are 80 points of extra credit which is fairly easy. Exams are a little challenging but as long as you do the homework and the test prep you should be good. I don't write these "Rate My Professor" reviews but I had to for Bipin. I have the flu right now and my body is barely functioning but the word must be spread.
One of the best professors I have had. He just lectures every class and you just go home and do the two weekly assignments he assigns which our fairly easy. He has like 4 tests total and 4 extra credit assignments. He is a chill teacher. I showed up like an hour late every class and I still got perfect attendance.
Economics 202 with professor Khana was by far the best zoom class I've taken. No tests, only a final exam which was open note due to it being a fast-paced summer class, and one extra credit assignment, which you won't need if you just attend all classes. Class average was extremely high for all quizzes and homework assignments.
This class was all online, so it was based on homework completion which were modules and quizzes, and the exams. It's easy if you complete all the modules and quizzes. For the exam I recommend reading the textbook chapters and reviewing the practice and normal quizzes.
Doesn't really give feedback but I'm sure if you were to email him with Q he would help out. I took a class with Prof. Creppy last time, and both their online classes/quiz/exam structures are literally the same. Prof Khana doesn't interact with students as much as Prof Creppy does but that's about the only difference I see. VERY similar overal tho.
Wish I had taken his class when I was younger as i learned so many things that would have been useful. If you are young and want to be informed, listen and ask questions, this man is a wealth of knowledge and you get a huge bang for your buck!
Professor Khana is a really good teacher! He responds to emails very timely and actually cares about his students, I forgot to do an assignment one week and he opened it and allowed me to complete it late!
He is a very kind and an excellent teacher. He encourages class participation, which makes the learning experience more engaging. While a study guide would be a helpful addition, he provides plenty of resources to support students and is extremely flexible. His approachability and dedication to helping students succeed make him a great professor.
Just make sure to do the online assignments. He gives extra credit and does a good job of explaining stuff.
He gives extra credit after his exams wants his students to pass, a cheat sheet is allowed to be used during the exam, a quiz which is allowed 3 attempts is due every week along with a textbook work which is more help, lectures can be a bit boring but also interesting wishes for his students to participate, and is flexible with due dates
Professor Khana's ECO202 was a straightforward class. The lectures can be dry, but attending them and completing the modules/quizzes is key to doing well. The final exam is open-note, so using Unstuck AI and the textbook can really help with study prep.
Great Class online! The first exam really affected my grades! There's alot of discussions in this class. The content was pretty hard but the practice tests helps with studying!
