I cant beleive that more people havent made comments on Dr. Woelker. This is my 2nd time leaving a comment for this teacher. Great Prof. knows her stuff, and wants to help you! Just signed up for her summer 116 and i would take anything she teaches. Shes a A+ teacher. Had family probs and she was real cool with understanding. +++ Real GREAT Teacher

Also just wanted to say I never wanted to work harder for a teacher like i did Dr. Woelker, so I hired an extra tutor.She never laughed when I told her i wanted to be a Dentist but encouraged me. Take her class you wont be dissapointed.

Dr. Woelker is extremely knowledgable,brilliant and very approachable.She is able to teach the beginner to a grad student. I took her class over the summer after leaving work as a night RN and stayed awake and was very interested in all she had to teach. Loved the lab experiments. I am a returning student who had not taken a class in 30 years. I found Prof. Woelker to be inspirational, interesting and extremely fair. I really enjoyed her class. She is one of my favorite teachers.

AMAZING BIOLOGY TEACHER! knows her subject very well! the class is a bit hard and intimidating but all the quizzes and assignments are basically extra credit and not to mention the lowest test grade gets dropped. advice: draw all the pictures in the textbook, ask questions, a lot of test questions come from the quizzes & try to understand pictures.

human genetics..she really is a great teacher but very difficult class if you are a beginner.

i only had her for lab for human genetics. her lab reports were impossible, i got sixties on all of them and i put time and effort into them. if you don't understand something in the lab, she will help you out. this class can be very boring, it is 3 hours long. overall she was alright.

Excellent teacher. She really goes out of here way to engage the student and make the class enjoyable. The tests and quizzes are ridiculously easy with no surprises. Study and you'll get an A. And yeah, amazing accent

the material is hard but she makes it easier, but its still hard (this isnt bio 101). bottom line is she tells you what to take away from the lesson. tests are ridiculously easy, plus she drops the lowest. best lab ever, even tho you never leave early. came away with a 91=A

This lady is the best ever! She helps her students, and she can easily tell who's a hard worker! I definitely recommend taking her class if you want to learn the material with a great professor.

I took her last year Fall 2009 and she is an amazing teacher. she is one of my favourite professor. She really knows her stuff and teaches very well. Best proffesor I have ever took in ncc. She really knows how to teach the material, even though material is quite challenging, her delivery of the information is crystal clear. She keeps you upto date on the topic by giving you quizes everyday, which is a good thing. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PROFFESOR!

Great Professor. I took her Human Genetics lab and she was great. Loved how she explained lessons with videos, powerpoints and personal examples. I enjoyed her class. She knows how to explain the material well.

LOVED HER! she expects a lot from her students but I've honestly never learned so much from a professor! I had Dr Wolker for her Bio 116 genetics course. A simple recommendation of take her would be all you need to hear. Just know ahead of time you will have a ton of lil tasks to complete to earn a grade. Nothing beyond hard. 2-3 lab reports, a wiki project which was simple, a few hw questions, blackboard quizzes at home. You have to earn an A, but

Prof Woelker is great! She is extremely competent and treats the class with respect unlike some other teachers who expect less just because it's community college. She is very knowledgeable and fully explains the material. Read the textbook and you'll do fine. Plus, she is really pretty and very stylish. Highly recommend taking her classes!

LOVE her! She really is a great professor. The only thing that I didn't like was that she gets a bit preachy about nutrition and it doesn't really relate to the course content much of the time. The Food Inc paper is a completely pointless assignment. She assigns some busy work that seems a bit high school. Otherwise, she truly is wonderful.

Helps with any problems you might have. Makes the worst subjects bearable with small diagrams or models. Made me actually interested in genetics for once.

She's great! Too many assignments though. We have lecture exams, lab exams, chapter online quizzes, wiki project, movie essay, lab reports. This class has more assignments than 2 other combined.

She is the best professor. Very clear at the beginning of the semester what is expected. Gives lots of quizzes and assignment but these are to help your grade rather than just give exams which you may not do well in. Lab manual is clear and informative. She is a great professor easy to understand and enjoys helping her students in everyway possible

She is an awesome professor, one of the best at NCC. I learned a lot in her class, and it was a very enjoyable learning environment. 1010 would take her again. If you pay attention in class, get involved in class discussions, and take advantage of blackboard material, you will do well.

She's an extremely good professor. Her syllabus and expectations are clear from the start. Dr. Woelker is passionate about this subject, and also about teaching. She's cordial, and helped clear any doubts on the topic. Genetics was a new subject for me, and at the end of the semester, she left a good impression on me.

If your major is in the science field, DON'T take the class. Not transferable. BIO109 is necessary. Passionate woman. Lectures the entire class, but makes it interesting. Do the online quizzes, project, & participate. Tests are identical to quiz questions. Not a science major, so I thought this course would be my hardest one--it was the EASIEST :)

Great professor! She is an extremely intelligent woman who cares passionately about the subject. She does go off topic occasionally but I feel it makes the class interesting when compared to others who barrel through boring lectures. Her exams are based heavily on online quizzes so if you do well on them, you should ace the exam. Great class

Great professor. Tests are multiple-choice and most of the questions are taken from her quizzes. The only issue is that she tries to infuse her political agenda every now and then into lecture.

Woelker was a good prof. The tests are multiple choice. Quizzes on Blackboard - be sure to do them, the questions are the EXACT same on the test. 4 tests per semester (1 gets dropped). Class goes off topic sometimes. She is very inspirational, logical and gives realistic life advice.

Study and you'll pass the material may be hard for some but focus on what she discusses in class when studying on your own. Drops the lowest grade and the quizes also great for studying for the test. As long as you put in your work you will pass.

Most amazing Prof. And really made me LOVE genetics. Took her over the summer and got an A. She drops a lab tests and lecture test. There's a presentation and a lab report and quizzes as well. Read the book before class and use her online review sheets and ull do great!!

The blackboard quizzes online are very helpful for her exams. I memorized her quizzes on Blackboard in order to get a good grade for the exams. We had a wiki project to do, which consisted of making your own website that contains information of the body system you get assigned to do. You have to present this project to the class; usually in group.

For BIO166, Dr. Woelker was the professor for both the lecture and the lab. Having the same professor for both is very helpful. You have to study in order to get good grades for this class. The blackboard quizzes and the study guides she had online are great to use for studying. I use to type up study guides as well.

All the quizzes she gives us is on Blackboard. You get to do the quizzes twice. Plus the tests are the exact questions and answers are ON THE QUIZZES! She gives 4 test grades but drops the lowest one. There is a group project you need to work on. She is a tough grader when it comes to the project and the project counts as a test grade.

Professor woelker is a great professor. I learned so much from her lectures, the class definitely isnt easy. She speaks pretty fast sometimes It was hard to keep up. But overall she grades fairly and gives you a fair chance to get a good grade in the class.

Idk where to start and where to finish. I took Bio 109 and Bio 116 back to back with Dr. Woelker and I wish I had met her earlier in my life. She is overall the best teacher who has helped me and motivated me to become a better student. Make sure you do your lab reports well she didn't like my lab report in genetics. Do yourself a favor n take her!

She does seem intimidating, but she's really nice. She does give a lot of work, but she's a pretty lenient grader. Her online quizzes reflects her tests. Study those. She gives a review sheet for the lab midterm and final, definitely use those.

Dr. Woelker is an amazing professor. You can tell she really cares about her students and is passionate about what she teaches. She is willing to explain and teach until you understand the material. If you do all of the assignments and readings, tests are straight forward. Lectures and labs were very interesting and I would take her class again.

Her lectures are good; includes real life news & events that make it interesting. Theres weekly labs to do but if you get most of the lab questions right, you'll get full credit. Try not to miss small points like discussions, online quizzes, & lab questions. Quizzes will definitely help on lecture tests. Communicate with her if something happens.

She was a great teacher as long as you take notes of everything she draws on the board and remember them for tests. The textbooks was technically required but we never used it in class but if you read the chapters that follow the lectures you will do great on tests. She drops the lowest test and lab grade too.

Great professor overall not too much work and material is pretty easy tbh. After the first exam I just stopped paying attention in lecture because the tests are fairly easy.I would quite literally know nothing leading up to the exam and just study the night before and I ended with an avg of 102 in Lec exams. She also drops the lowest grade exam.

Dr Woelker's class was very fun. You can tell she genuinely cares about her students. This class can be an easy A if you show up, participate during lectures, and do the assignments. A lot of the testing material is based on what she says during the lecture but she's always open to questions if you miss anything. Take her, she's great!

If you can take a class with Dr. Woelker do it! She's amazing as a person and professor. I've never seen anyone so passionate about genetics and so ready to engage their classroom in every topic. I'm not very strong in genetics and have a learning disability but Dr. Woelker was nothing but understanding. She even brought us cookies :) 10/10 class!

She is a great instructor and educator! She is very helpful and is always willing to answer questions! She gives a lot of work so make sure to do it! She also gives a lot of discussions for a physical class, just do it! She drowns you in a lot of work but it is for your benefit and can help with exams.

Shes very passionate and intelligent and I respect that, but I feel like I didnt learn much in the classroom. I personally got lost and confused multiple times and resorted to watching Bozeman biology. To pass this class id recommend you watch all the Bozeman biology videos she posts and study the quizzes. Its a lot of studying but its manageable.
