The most confusing and one of the most unhelpful teachers

This class is a disgrace to our university. To all the people that want an A or a B w/o doing****, this is the class for you. His requirements for EVERYTHING are EXTREMELY VAGUE.. unfortunately, he is basically the only teacher for this class, so you'll probably have to take him. |isys363|<=0

This guy is a complete bell-end. Someone has to knock him down a peg or two. The excel and access tests are unreasonably difficult, and I'm MOS certified! He's a prick, don't let it get you down.

this teacher is a joke. i feel it was a big waste of my time and tuition dollars. i learned absolutley nothing, but how to regergitate information. he basically leaves you on your own to teach yourself the material. I feel bad that i attend a university where this teacher is allowed to instruct.

This teacher is the worst professor I have ever had. I have gotten A's in 2 of the toughest courses for business majors at state and I signed up for C/NC even though a 76 I got on my exam was in the top 5% out of 500 students. Online exams= impossible, project= not instruction.... exams= unclear and he doesn't tell the grading system until the end

ISYS 363 by Garfolo is the biggest waste of time ever. The instruction is unreasonably vague, and the tests are completely unrelated to the lectures, so don't bother viewing them. He hands out study guides for the midterms which contain some of the same questions seen on the actual midterms, but for the final the study guide is totally unrelated.

i don't think any of his slides are on any exam, so there's no point in going to class. he just reads off the slides anyway. exam 1 and 2 are pretty identical to the practice exam that he gives. the final is not!!! i had the yellow final form and none of the practice exam questions were on there!!!

The class load is overwhelming! Pretty much a learn-everything-yourself type of deal. Not neccessary to watch slides, except for the updates at the beginning of lectures. Exam Q's are all fr the book. Website was an unreasonable demand b/c he expects EVERYTHING to work and u had to learn everything on your own. Course content was a waste of time!

i learned alot from my own! just reading the book, and help from my classmates. anyhow, make friends w ppl in there. the project was stupid! he makes you feel stupid if you ask him questions. dont go to his class! he doesnt take attendance. just get the test answers from ppl who took him before.

This guy is terrible. Group project is very vague and if you ask questions, he's a jerk. Tests are garbage. Grading system is nice idea but not practical at all. Take someone else if possible, if not, be ready to do a lot of work on your own.

Dr. Mullet - he sucks. Worst teacher I have ever had. Don't take him unless you have to - if you have him, find students who have taken him before to ask for info - he does not answer emails, voicemails, and the 4 times I have tried to visit his office hourse, he was not there. Not only that, but the 2 times I have spoken with him, he was a jerk. U

For your own sake, do not take him. He reads off slides that have nothing to do with his exams. He posts sample exams online, for the mid terms I'd say around 60% of the questions were from the samples. But for the final, only 3 questions! Maybe this sadist finds that amusing. Also make you do a group project which outline is really really vague.

I agree w/ the person below that all he does is read off slides, pointless to come to class since none of it will be on the exams. Sample exams help in the mid terms a lot, but he also asks a bunch of left field questions that you need to know from the book. Final had a few familiar questions, that's it, it sucked! Garfolo doesn't email back!

We called him the pony tail guy. The exams are not based on the lectures. Answer the questions for the sample quiz from the text and you will do well. The final was a combo of the first two exams. I dont' think he ever looked at the project stuff (website, database,excel financials).

Nah.. he's washed up. What was the point of that class? Give yourself whatever grade you want. 10 minute lectures. He's cynical and does not want students to succeed. Why is he even a teacher? Everyone gets an A, and nobody learns anything. Pointless. He pretty much rolled over and gave up on teaching long ago. Students, just walk over him.

Classes are useless, he reads the powerpoint slides provided by the book publisher. So if you don't know anything about isys, then you'll have to read the book. But he's nice if you go see him in his office.

One of the worst teachers at SF State. Never responds to emails, and basically reads from the slides during the lectures. He is incompetent about the subject and is useless. I recommend anyone to take him ONLY as an absolute last resort. Otherwise, save your money.

Got a B+, but lots of busy work, something is always due! Final is 50% of grade but open book/open notes. Group project is imperative! 17.50% of grade. If you have slackers in your group, give em' the boot! Your best bet for doing a great job on the project would be finding someone who got an A on the project in a previous semester.

worst teachers at SF State reads slides. Does not care about the students at all. Does not want to communicate with he students as well when you ask him question about problems with MYIT or i Learn he answers back "contact tech. dept." He made this class super confusing. if you register get ready for some stress! take D Chao way easier and better

useless and lazy teacher. he does not care about his students. he gives unclear instructions. if you want to learn something, then don't take it with garfolo. it may be appealing because the class is online, but you're better off taking it with someone who gives a damn.

The WORST professor I have ever had. Ever. Can't teach, just reads off the Pearson slides that come with the book, assigns a group project to an ONLINE class, if you get 1 point below a C on the final, you fail the class. Period. Even if every other score in the class is 100%. Cares nothing for the students, unapproachable, unpleasant man.

HORRIBLE teacher. I had the online class and he wouldn't even email the class documents to me that were saved in docx. He assigns a group project for an ONLINE class. Who does that? DO NOT take him.

He sucks. I took the online class. I got an A- but if you ask me any question from the class, I wouldn´t know the answer. The quiz questions were VERY specific and even if you read, you would have to read over to answer the question right, of course online is open book, but its just dumb. Group project was hard and time consuming and confusing.

He is not clear about anything he wants you to get done.He lectures 100 miles per hour and lets the class out 40 minutes early; he lectures so fast, you can't even type fast enough to take notes. All the tests are online but keep up with the dates because he's too busy to remind you

exactly what i expected, just like bonnie homan's class.. except the teacher is weirder. The work is doable-- but he doesnt give any slack when it comes to your grades.. in online classes i think some extra slack helps... if the computer calculates your grade as 89.6 point whatever. he would probably round it down. lame-o

This class is stupid. I did all myitlab, hw, quizzes and our group got a good grade for the group project. But I still fail the class because, if u fail the final u fail the class. so u dont need to do anything but pass the final with a 70% then u will pass the class! Teacher takes forever to return emails. No clearity on group project works.

Really does not care about his students. Wears the same hawaiian shirt every day (NO JOKE). Group project is worth 15% but requires SO much work. Final worth 50%. Everything else is myITlab (annoying) and iLearn quizzes. Do not need to attend class. I have an A going into the final. Getting a D on the final would drop your grade to a B-. Good Luck

class is rigged so that you'll fail. i spent two days studying for the final and got a D. he never replies back to emails and he doesn't care about his students. horrible professor.

This is about the WORST teacher I've ever had at SFSU and that's counting I am almost graduating. No matter how hard you work on IT labs Quizes or group projects, if you get at least a D on the final you fail the class. Don't bother with this guy, he doesn't care for his students and he is full of himself. group project instructions are very vague

a group project for an online class?? how does that make sense? its super hard and its only 15% of youre grade. there is so much work to do and he doesnt even help you. i would not recommend this class

Worst teacher I have had during my entire college career. My advice for those taking this class, DONT EVEN DO THE GROUP PROJECT!! It is only 15% of your grade, if you spend the time that would have been spent on the group project on the other parts of the class you will walk away with an 85%!! Trust me, I am not exaggerating, its that easy.

Study CH 2,5,9,11 of the Laudon book because that's what the final exam is on even though he says that the final is cumulative. The teacher is not helpful and the group project instructions are very confusing. Group leader gets extra points for the group project. Final exam on 4 CHs is 50% of your grade, project is only 15% - food for thought.

It seemed quite easy at the beginning of the semester. I wasn't scared until the final week because I saw many classmates failed the final. So did I. The group project was extremely difficult.

Class was ok, actually not as bad as people are saying. MyITLab's are easy, just keep pressing "show me" and it'll show you exactly how to do it, easy A. Weekly quizzes are based on the book, so READ it! I got a B on everything else and failed the final (55%) yet STILL passed the class. It is true that he is not helpful whatsoever but whatevs!

This prof. reads off of the textbook slides....tests from the textbook question bank.... and assigns a group project for an online class. He offers no in class info on the project (which is a waste of time and has no practical use). He checked out a long time ago and is there to collect a check and get home as fast as possible..He should be fired

I took this class online. The weekly quizzes are easy...answers are straight out of the book. The MyIT Lab wasn't too bad...just have to take the time to learn it before submitting the grader assignments. The worst is the group project...so much time to do the project and practically no direction. Just pray you get assigned to a good group.

Avoid at all costs. There's pretty much nothing else I can say. If you are crazy and feel like taking this guy anyway, good luck.

An extremely garbage professor, a course could have learned a lot of things by his lectures are a mess, he lectures very casually, do not care what you can learn, the exams are also very casual, in the website to find some random questions to cope with it, he does not deserve to be a teacher!
