She does a lot of activities to make the class not so boring, but there's a lot of work. Few assignments/projects at once, but it's really easy

Very fair. Makes it clear on the first day of school what is expected of you. Plenty of chances to get xtra credit and get a good grade.

For this being my first college course, I couldn't have had a better teacher for the transition because she was fair and clearly laid everything out the first day of class. Also, she incorporated powerpoints and class activities the appropiate way to prepare for a quiz.

Dr. Martin is an amazing teacher! Expectations are clear and she sets her students up to succeed. If you attend class, do the homework and take notes you WILL get an A. She uses fun methods of teaching that are engaging and stay with you. Uses powerpoint lecture, quizes are online with notes. Final is directly from the quizes. Loved her!!!

she was easily my favorite teacher! Class was super fun & active. Highly recommend printing out the slides & taking notes on them. You get to use them on the tests & actually due the study guides & you'll for sure pass. Also, volunteer!! You get points just for that & you'll be on her good side.

Dr. Martin is a fantastic teacher and I loved her class. She only treats students like they are in high school if they act like they are in high school. NO CELL PHONES IN CLASS, means just that. Class was fun and interesting. I am glad I am taking her again. Highly recommended.

Great teacher, very smart, but she hates cell phones. Print out the powerpoints, you can use them on the final and they have all the information you need to pass the class.

TAKE NOTES!!! You are allowed to use them on tests. turn your phone off she will flip out about phones. all in all a really easy class and really fun

She runs her class very well, and goes out of her way to make sure you can understand the concepts. She grades relatively leniently IMHO, but it isn't an easy A type of class- to get an A you do have to do the work and attend class, and if you do that you should have a decent grasp on the material. Sort of the best of both worlds!

Best teacher I have ever had, I went into it feeling not so confident and from the first class till the last she used hands on examples and videos to really help us understand. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

Her class is mandatory. She is an easy grader and all of her tests are open book. I would definitely recommend buying the book for the class. She is awesome

I really enjoyed class with Dr.Martin. She is very understanding and kind. She keeps her students engaged, you won't be bored! She lectures and we also worked quite a bit with other students in group work. There is quite a bit of homework, but it's not hard. Her tests are online. You will need the textbook! Easy class if you attend and stay on top of the material. Book is absolutely required - all of the homework answers come straight from the text (homework submitted online). She uses multiple methods to drive the ideas home and gives every opportunity for you to succeed. Fantastic intro professor. Looking into more (not required)classes with her!

One of my favorite teachers. She tries to use every form of teaching in her class. Games, technology, stories, etc. She puts a lot of effort into teaching & always available for extra help. It's not a class for returning texts or doing other work. A little heavy on the homework. Not terrible though. Good, fair, involved teacher.

2 hour summer class PROS: extremely nice, very fun, shows lots of video clips, does slideshow notes everyday, HW is easy, allows 2 pages of notes for exams, gives us a break half way through class, not sure if she only did that because it was a 2 hour class, kind of cute CONS: no texting, expects a little too much participation (graded on it)

I was a bit nervous because psychology sounds like it would be difficult but Professor Martin brings it down to the 101 level and makes lectures fun. Cheat sheets on all tests plus you get extra credit for making it.

I love Miss, Martin, you get 50 extra credit points at the end of the semester if you participate enough. All homework done online, makes you become intrigued in the class weather you like it or not. Doesn't let you use your phone but she makes it so interesting you wont even want too!

This is an AWESOME psychology teacher. She knows when she needs to be professional, and then at the same time, she is so down to earth. So helpful with assignments. Let's you make a cheat sheet for tests. Besides that, it is so interesting. She's so good at explaining the way everything works and makes sure we UNDERSTAND the material. Love it!

DOCTOR Martin is always yelling about phones, laptops, and paying attention. its very annoying at a college level since were all adults by now. i dont pay attention in her classes... but get As and Bs on everything because we are allowed 1 full sheet of paper as a cheat sheet front and back for every test. the class isnt too bad over all.

Dr. Martin's psych 101 class was an easy A. super sarcastic and funny. if you show up you are guaranteed at least a B. We took 2 exams and then a final. on normal exams you can have a full size front and back cheat sheet, and on the final she allows 2 double sided cheat sheets. wasn't a problem to show up to class bc she makes it interesting.

Dr. Martin is a great professor. She is fair and doesn't take any excuses. homework weekly. no quizzes. she does a lot of group work and hands on learning. she is great!

this class is a lot of work. if you don't do homework you will fail. tests have 2 page cheat sheets and are ok if you study for them. lots of homework and quizzes. Dr. Martin is a great teacher and gets you interested in the class, you won't be bored. don't come in late or points are docked.

She loves psychology which in turn makes the class interesting. Online work is required and gives access to the online text book. Only gives a few assignments where you NEED the textbook but you also get online access so buying the book is not required. She gives out a lot of homework with little points that add up and help your grade!

Dr. Martin is really knowledgeable about this topic. She prints out the outline of the semester notes and gives them to you. Tests are okay because you can have a 'cheat sheet' (she will give guidelines for it). There is a group project that you work on throughout the semester, it can be annoying at times but its worth it. I highly recommend her.

Prof. Martin was great. She was not only funny and kind, but clear on what she wanted on the homework assignments and helped the class prepare for each major exam. There was some group work, but Prof. Martin made sure each member was getting an individual grade, not a grade as a group. Awesome teacher, would highly recommend.

Pretty lenient to be honest. Expects you to be a mature college student. Not a ton of homework. Beware of the group project near the end of the semester though.....

Dr. Martin is hands down, the best professor at JJC! I had her for Psyc 101 this semester & I loved it. She knows how to teach and relate the material & offers help. Test are easy you can have one sheet of computer paper front & back for all test & two for the final! She gives out extra credit & I wish I can take her again. Thank you Dr. Martin!

Professor Martin was interesting I didn't really like the way she did notes in class they didn't really seem to relate to what we were learning. Overall a good teacher and always prepares you for upcoming due dates.

This class is the easiest A. She is clear on grading and gives a ton of heads up on assignments, along with feedback and help with anything as long as you ask. You can get on her bad side if you text and talk, but if you just show up, are respectful and do your work, you will absolutely pass.

I absolutely loved Dr. Martin. She is very smart, kind and funny. Her lectures were very interesting and easy to follow. She did expect you to participate. Homework assignments were easy to follow & you had plenty of time to complete them. Her tests were hard but didnt affect your grade too much. Got a C on every test and still passed with an A.

Dr. Martin was a good teacher and easy to understand. She always graded assignments right away and reminded students of any upcoming assignments several classes before the due date. In class we didn't cover all of the chapters, but the chapters that were covered were very interesting and easy to understand.

I had Dr. Martin Sp2016 and I loved her! She is very clear on assignments and gives you more than enough time to complete them. She is pretty lenient and gives awesome lectures with examples that are very helpful. She has a brilliant mind. I learned so much in this class. It's close to impossible to fail. Lets you know what to study for the tests.

Dr. Martin is a great psych professor! I really have no complaints. I did take this class over the 6 week summer session, so we moved REALLY fast and there was a lot of assignments. However, it's just your standard gen ed class. I did all of the assignments, extra credit, studied, and I passed with 101%. Participation counts though - talk in class!

Great professor. Easy A/B if you show up and do the home-work. You get a one page cheat-sheet for each test, front and back. Same with final, but you get two pages. Lectures were usually interesting. Group power-point presentation at the end of semester.

Martin was great! She gives you a chance to have a front to back "cheat sheet" that you can make for every single test. She puts exactly what will be on the test on icampus and you can make your sheet off of that. The class is so easy!!!!

She's a great teacher, gives clear instruction and explains things very well. Comes off cold at the beginning but is actually very funny and nice. Learned a TON from this class, and she gives examples that actually stick in your head! She does require that you buy the book but we use it regularly so it's okay. Does give a lot of homework.

Easy A if you're willing to put the work in. She seems strict at first as there are absolutely no phones allowed, but other then that she is great. She is a very easy grader. I've gotten 100% on the majority of my assignments. There is a lot of homework but all you have to do is complete it and show up and you'll get a good grade.

Chooses excellent material to teach in class. Very specific on grading tho. Lets you use cheat sheets on every exam so take advantage of it!!!

Dr. Martin is an amazing psych professor, she definitely knows what she's doing. Lectures are pretty interesting and only 3 exams all semester including the final. She does give a lot of homework but it's pretty easy. Attendance is mandatory and electronics are a big no in her class. Just show up, take notes, do the work and you should pass.

Dr. Martin is the best! Lectures aren't boring at all. She gives you plenty of examples about the chapter and she gives good you good notes to write down. You need the textbook to do the homework & the homework does take a while to complete. It was an easy class.

She seems a little awkward at first but under that she has a sense of humor and gives engaging lectures, you can tell she's passionate and informed about what she's teaching. Martin was my favorite teacher! She gives amazing, and not boring lectures. She is always asking questions for people to participate. You do many questions and brainstorming in groups. Very little and easy homework. Don't have to try hard, just answer the question. Cheat sheet on every test. The exams aren't as easy as expected but still easy.

I love Dr. Martin. Her lectures are always interesting and she makes the class get together to talk about different topics on what she lectures on. For each test, you can have a sheet of notes, back to back. As long as you take notes, and use transfer them over to your cheat sheet you'll be fine

great teacher, i took psych in highschool and dropped it instantly because it was so hard, took this class and it was an easy A, sarah is a great teacher and knows what she is talking about.

Very informative professor. Gives good feedback. You do want to attend all her classes because she takes attendance. Other than that, just follow what she says and you will pass her class. Assignments can be tough at times and tests as well, but study hard and you will pass her class.

She has very straight forward guidelines on all homework assignments. Her lecture are never confusing and always encourages asking questions.

At first, Dr. Martin comes across as a mean prof. She is NOT. If you pay attention and participate you will be just fine. She really cares for her students and she knows what she is talking about. She gives out SO much extra credit and participation points. I hope to take another one of her classes soon.

If you are on time to class & do not use your cell phone, you will be just fine. She gives numerous opportunities for extra credit- take advantage of them because they are not difficult. You have weeks to complete major assignments- do not wait til the last minute!! I would definitely recommend taking Dr. Martin!!!

I wish I could have taken her more than once. She had enough impact on me to change my major from journalism to social work!

She makes collarboration a key part in this class and it is so helpful to understand psychology. She is very easy to talk to and to ask for help.

I had not been in school for a while and was very nervous not knowing what to expect in the class, but with this teacher I felt at ease immediately. She was very easy to take instructions from . She gave everyone a fighting chance to do what they needed to do for their assignments and extra credit was available. I do recommend this teacher.

If you dont have a decent personality, then she may come off as rude. Not too many assignments and she gives you enough time to complete them. All of the assignments are online, which is nice. Each test you can use a cheat sheet (front & back). Class is super easy as long as you show up.

Professor Martin is awesome! They are very knowledgeable and organized when it comes to their lessons. On exams you get to use cheat sheets (both front and back) & the workload isn't too hectic because they give you lots of time to complete assignments. The flow of the class was always laid back & inviting. I definitely reccomend taking their class

They were an amazing professor to have and were very accessible and nice, but also in depth and gave many extra credit opportunities and you are able to submit work in late for many assignments. They held a very enjoyable class and handled the online transition due to the covid pandemic well.

Easy A. Chances are you won't receive anything less than an A unless your work is late, or you really screw up. Professor really cares about the material and the class.

By far my favorite class and professor so far! The lectures are split up into understandable power points as well as video lectures. Offers plenty of extra credit. As long as you do the work, you will pass. Dr. Martin is very organized, which makes the class a lot easier. You get extra credit for creating a cheat sheet for each exam.

Dr. Martin is extremely educated in their field. There were powerpoint lectures and one video lecture per week. There is 2-3 assignments per week along with notes, I highly recommend taking the notes, they helped me tremendously. The exams can be challenging but if you study enough it's fine. Smart professor that knows so much about psychology!

Professor Martin is amazing! You have a lot of homework, and should always take notes but the homework is not hard at all. If you do something not quite right Professor Martin leaves feedback for you to do better. Very thoughtful and caring individual. Professor Martin often gives extra credit.

By FAR the best teacher. They really have deep knowledge of their teachings, always give great feedback, clear about all assignments (how they should be done AND due dates). They allow make-up work and extra credit. The tests can be a little difficult but they allow two tries per test. A bit of homework but always easy. TAKE THEIR CLASS!!!

Everything about the curriculum was cut and dry, very very clear. I did not have to go searching to find what was due when leaving so questions if I missed something.

They love what they do and it is overall a great class. lots of work but you're actually learning information out of it. wish i could take them again. i really enjoyed their class and couldn't recommend it enough.

Dr. Martin is very passionate and knowledgeable about teaching human lifespan development. Wants you to pass and will give you extra time to complete assignments if needed. Dr. Martin gives a great lecture and has the class very engaged, which makes it fun and exciting to go. Dr. Martin grades fast and has very clear grading criteria.

This professor is amazing, clear instructions and a quick grader. They're the best because they expect you to go to school with a PURPOSE. They don't just read from the slides or read from the textbook; you're expected to actively LISTEN. You need to put in effort to pass. A truly wonderful professor who encourages students to learn.

Professor Martin knows their stuff and makes the class engaging. Lots of work, but it pays off. Unstuck ai was a lifesaver for test prep.

I enjoyed class with them! As long as you are engaged and do all your assignments you should have no problem passing.
