She tries o prepare you for COSC 236. She has a rough personality but just keep asking questions because she wants you to understand. Do the work and go to class. The work will help you prepare for tests and attendance counts.

Good teacher, but you must attend every class to learn. She doesn't teach much if anything out of the book. Be careful though, she does contradict herself in lecture a lot and you pay the price if you don't catch it.

She prepares you well for 236. If you do well on the homeworks and labs, you should at least get a B. She grades the labs a little tough, but she also cushions your grade later in the semester. she is attractive for her age!

As a math major, I was so worried about this class, but it was great. She is great. Loved all the materials online. Also keeps all grades online. Highly recommend.

Very knowledgeable professor. Enthusiastic, which helped make the class more interesting. Reasonable workload, fair grading, and you learn a lot.

The best programming professor i've had! She's very clear and knowledgeable about what she lectures. The labs are actually fun to do. You really come out with a strong base for future COSC courses. I'm still taking the class, but regardless of my grade, my opinion of her will be the same.

Extremely clear, lab assignments give great working examples of lectures. Its comp sci (although intro), so for tests you either know it or you dont. 1 of the better teachers i've had at Towson. these COSC175 people who said she's not good are probably MNGT,MKTG or MCOMM pussies whose hardest class was basic stats

I think Prof. Taylor is a great teacher. She's always willing to answer ur questions. She will go over any homework questions the class before its do. I didn't know anything about computers not to mention programming and I have an A in that class. Just come to class, pay attention, ask questions and you'll be fine. The labs are so easy.

I have to say that Prof. Taylor is the best teacher I have had at towson!! I love the way she teaches because she is confident, energetic and explains everything clearly and is willing to help out anyone who needs extra help! Assignments were a little tough but Taylor made it all worth while! I recommend for 175, 236 and 237!! Dont take Zimand :-x

Prof. Taylor is a really good professor. Always willing to help you out. She does go a bit fast in lecture, but all notes are available on her website. Labs are somewhat easy, although they get harder once you get to classes. Two tests and several labs. Depending on your grade, you don't have to take the final if your grade is high enough.

She is one of the best teachers I've had at Towson. I had her at 8am and didn't mind becasue she was so energetic. The whole class did poorly on the second test so she retaught the material and let us retake the test. I also didn't have to even take a final because my grade was so high. TAKE HER!!!

Go to class. Take a lot of notes!!!!...esp when she is giving examples in class(she tends to use those on tests and quizzes from time to time). Do not buy the book! If you miss a class you will be behind. Pay attention!!! Excellent Professor!! Be sure to print out all lectures notes and exercises for class..it makes it easier to take side notes

Very nice lady and good teacher, will help you with your questions and usually just show you how to do problems. A lot of homework but lab is CAKE! Make sure you go to class and you'll do fine. Tests were very easy if you paid attention. Lets you have a 2 page cheat sheet on everything!

Dr. Taylor is extremely knowledgeable and challenging, but she wants you to do well and will do what she can, within reason, to help you pass. Her lectures are golden. She is great at illustrating a hard concept. She is flexible and can be humorous. She is eager to help. All you have to do is ask.

She makes the difficult concepts easy and really wants you to get the understanding down, gives a decent work load but all those points end up helping. One of the best tech teachers at this school.

Amazing professor! This is a hard subject, but she does her best to make sure you understand and she will do anything to help you understand it. 1 test, 3 quizzes (one dropped), labs. Lots of practice available to make sure you understand. This class is definitely what you make it, but she is amazing!

She's cool. I'm a CIS major and this was the hardest class I had my first semester of college. Hard as in it was just a lot of work, not too difficult really. There is work due every week. But she over prepares you for tests, which is a good thing, as I passed them all. Take her!

Professor Taylor is amazing! For the test and quizzes you take, you can have a full page of notes to use for it. She drops your lowest quiz, but they really aren't bad at all. She is very helpful and one of the best teachers at Towson! (Textbook isn't mandatory & never even used it)

If you've never taken computer science before I reccommned this class with prof Taylor. She's entertaining and covers the material well and is actually concerned about how students are doing in her class. full page of notes for tests/quizzes too!

As a computer science major I found the course very useful. I knew little of C++ before my fall semester, I focused mainly on HTML prior to it. Despite this, the professor taught the course as if one was completely knew to coding, with focus on the C++ language. I thought her lectures were clear, understandable and she provided excellent visuals.

Only thing I wasn't happy about was that she didn't give me an A for my 89%. I had some C++ knowledge before this class, but not required to know in order to pass. Tests are some what hard but you get a full page cheat sheet. Labs are simple. Final project was simple.

Dr. Taylor is good teacher. My lecture was supposed to be 3 hours on mondays but she made both days we had the class half lecture half lab which really helped and kept me from falling asleep. The labs are clear and arent too difficult plenty of time is given to complete them as well. Knew Java before i came into the class so i might have some bias.

Blair was definitely an amazing teacher. She knew what she was talking about and it was because of her i decided to change my major. Definitely would take again in the future. If you pay attention you will pass. Go to her for help. You wont regret it! Homeworks are long but half is one word answers, a quarter is little coding, and one big program.

Dr. Taylor's class was a fantastic introduction to programming. A little fast at times, but reviewing notes outside of class is required. She is very happy to help students and really cares about the success of her students. Show up to class and really give it your best. Labs once a week and tests can be a little difficult but not impossible.

If you take this class you will have the best experience possible in a c++ class. She moves at a good pace and it is not too easy but that way you actually learn something. If you pay attention to examples and put in work you will do good.

I took this class 2012. I learnt a lot from this class. Her TA was a very kind and funny girl and she was available always either in computer lab or in the library. We all enjoyed the labs . Just follow her lecture and do her homework. She is the best!!!

Learning java online at 8 am is not easy but she is a good teacher.

Overall, she's a nice professor. She has a TA to grade the labs and exams. There is a disconnection between her students and herself. Even when classes are online, she expects us to know java at 8 am. Now, I might have to repeat this class, but not with her next semester.

She knows her stuff and cares about preparing you for the next class.

Honestly, this course was pretty nice. Something I would recommend is don't get the textbook you don't need it also attendance doesn't really matter. There are donuts at almost every meeting so that's nice. 90% of the work you do is on blackboard. There will be a final group work at the end of the semester but it shouldn't be too hard. That's all.

She is very nice and funny. Fun to be in class with in the morning, and brought donuts for us all the time. Quizzes online and exams had cheat sheet. She just gives too much unnecessary homework.
