very helpful, easy grader
He is super easy-going. He gives free extra point and one extra credit Q on exams. He may be not very experienced in teaching but he is very helpful. I 'd recommand him to anyone who wanna get a high grade
Goes way too fasy, but grades on a curve, so you dont know the stuff but still get a good grade
the class is a little confusing, goes over stuff a little too fast, and test are tricky. overall nice personality, good looking guy..easygoing
Prof. Koroveshi's lectures are straighforward and makes a hard course material easy to understand. His exams are mainly from the HW assigments. I suggests to do all to work on the board, he will give a plus. He is also very helpful outside the class and he definelty knows his stuff.
A lot of material to cover, class is not for weak math students. He is willing to help you if you have questions. He's a bit inexperienced in teaching, he sometimes rushes and students have to correct him. Notes mostly from textbook. Goes over homework you put on the board or if you like to see a problem done, he does it for you. Not bad
Just don't take his classes.
his explination is not clear...exams are tough...not helpful...learning from book is easier than understanding his explainations...i don't recomend him...students who got A in pre-calc struggles in his class...still if you do take him plz take more than 12cr just in case u want to drop/whitdrawal from the class, u don't loss ur financial aid....
This is the math teacher from HELL. Doesn't explain anything, goes way to fast and the book is hard to understand. his review for the test is a waste of time. So unless ur a Math genius or commit to extensive tutoring you will hate him and the tutoring might not help because he asks the hardest questions on the test, so either way your skrewed.
Math department of Queens College sucks. most of the math teachers in the Queen College don't know how to teach. and this professor, most of students in his class look so confussed but, still he will keep on going over the new matterials. what's the pt if no one is learning anything???
I knew the material cuz I remember it from high school, but the others seemed lost and when they asked questions he made them feel bad. If you know ur math, take the class.. and ladies.. this guy is pretty good looking.. but if u dont know ur math.. then stay away. gives extra credit for putting hw on the board.
He really really tries to make things easy to understand however the material in the text isnt integrated in a way that is relevent to business or social science students. to few problems related to business. I blame the department for not keeping up to date with issues surrounding their business/social science students, in a free world ecoonomy.
Very difficult exams. A lot of fractions, radicals, lenghty problems, non-solution, tricky and difficult to compute questions. The homework willl not prepare you for it at all.Keep away from him unless you want to decrease your GPA.
The absolute worst professor i ever had. You will have to teach the whole course to yourself. He cant teach for the life of him if you take him your gpa will go down unless you are capable of teaching the course to yourself.
The worst experience I have ever had at Queens College. I cried many times over this class. No matter how hard I tried and did the homewk it was useless. Much time at tutors. My gradepoint average was 3.7, so I know I am not dumb.tests are tricky and hmwks do not prepare you for them- HORRIBLE.
Very fair grader on exams, gives alot of partial credit. Doesn't allow questions. Besides going a bit fast and not making sure everyone in the room understands, not too bad. Put your homework on the board, the extra credit makes a huge difference. Also, make sure you don't talk about him in another language, rumor has it he knows EIGHT languages!
Lectures are fast-paced and a bit confusing. Exams are kind of hard, but is a VERY fair grader, gives extra credit for putting hw on the board, and takes attendence into account.
Goes way tooo fast. Doesn't explain what he is writing on the board. I agree, you have to teach yourself the course. I've gotten confused a bunch of times in this class.
He teaching SUCKS but, dam he is fine....
he needs to take a couse about how to teach well. his teaching is not doing good to anyone. i had to whithdrew from his class. and if you want to see meanest ppl in Qc you go to Math department besides one lady in the front rest are rudest ppl alive on planet earth.
Professor Koroveshi is super nice and really has an interest in the material he covers. While he isn't the best at teching, he makes up for it by making himself available for tutoring and extra help. But, an interest in math is sort of necessary. His classes are not for the lazy.
I had not taken a Mathematics course in a long time. I took his class, he was charming, humorous and pleasant! I ended up with an A-. I'd take him again!
He is the worst teacher i have ever met! He dosent know how to teach and he goes way too fast, I would recommend never to take his class. I always had B's in math class, and algebra was suppose to be a peice of cake but he wasn't good at explaning the problems.
just to clarify the fact that this professor is so not hot! i felt like throwing up when i read the comments about him looking good! and don't take his class, he makes a simple math problem hard to understand I think he needs to go back to school.
If you want to learn math take him. Brilliant teacher and very helpfull.
I came across of some rating about him. It looks most of the comments about him are from some sdudents they would like to have an A with out knowing anything about math . Only one thing to all of you that want to learn math TAKE him taht youl see how you will like him and if you take him you will thank me for this advice.
Brilliant teacher.Inteligent. Very hard working . I was happy that I took his class. Thanks profesor K.
Terrible professor, has no clue what he is teaching. Gives out poor excuses when he is proved wrong, such as "It's a generalization" or decides to ignore the problem completely and talk about nonsense. Constantly looks at his notes and textbook struggling to teach, and still gets major facts wrong. Incapable professor.
He's ok, straight foward
DO NOT EVER TAKE HIM!!! This is the worst teacher I ever had in my entire life! I never had problems with math, he makes everything super tough!!! if you want to have more than D, dont take him!
The professor, you can tell hes a very nice guy, very resonable. Its just I would deffinatly advise who evers looking to take this class to look for someone a bit better, its not that he cant teach its just its HARD FOR HIM TO EXPLAIN THINGS, some people that kknow mathematics love him, others that dont know it so well will be more then confused
Horrible Professor, has no clue regarding Calculus overall. He is incapable of explaining anything with math because he doesnt know if he's right or wrong. He needs to have better understanding of the subject he's teaching. Should teach math classes that's within his comprehension abilities and not something that he himself struggles with.
I must agree that he is one of the more "incapable" professors for calculus. He's horrible. I would never recommend to anyone to take him. His knowledge of calculus is terrible. He also fails to explain anything properly, because he doesnt understand the underlying principles although he can calculate the answers. His tests are terribly designed.
To all of you out there. If you don't work for his class you will not pass or get anything for free. Good Luck
STAY AWAY. He is the worse professor you will ever have. He does NOT know how to teach. He make mistakes even when he explains. He makes you look like a retarded when you ask questions in class. He is really arrogant and does not know how to teach. STAY AWAY FOR YOU OWN BENEFIT.
The professor is a graduate student so of course his lingo in the classroom is above what many of us undergrads would call understandable. If you ask him a question he is likely to respond like a martian. If you go to the math lab and get into the concepts and DO EVERY HOMEWORK PROBLEM you will do fine in this class. He means well and Is a fair grader
HOLY CRAP... This teacher is reallllllly bad when it comes to explaining things... Basically whatever he teaches, YOU HAVE TO GO IN THE TEXTBOOK because he goes too fst and he makes you feel like crap when u ask him something... And he mumbles when he talks... PLEASEE choose another teacher if possible... hes rly smart, but not good at explaining.
I had a 95 in ap cal from hs and when i finshed with his class, my comprehension of level was at like 1/5. Please dont register for his class, or else he would continue to have a job. Worse teacher out there, cant teach to save his life. AVOID!!!! Take it next semester, never take anything with him.
He is horrible at teaching. If you don't know cal. do not take him. He does not teach clearly. He tells you to do a problem one way and shows it on the board the wrong way. he is a disgrace to all math teachers everywhere.
this teacher does not know how to teach and is not a fair grader... he does not grade fairly either, he bases his grades on whether he feels like passing your or not
Professor Koroveshi is the worst. He is good at teaching himself, he always covers the board when he's doing a problem and then u can't see it. It seems he knows the material, but he just isn't good at teaching it. Only take it if you have been doing calculus for years and your a professional.
He is brilliant. Take him if you ever want to learn math. math is not a easy subject and needs lots of work, but if you don't study of course the profesor has to be blamed. take him and you are ready for calculus. if you ask him he is very helpfull. Thanks profesor Korroveshi i did good in calculus too.
Knows his stuff, HOWEVER i had a serious problem w/his attitude towards questions asked. some of his replies included "Well the question is in english isnt it?" or "if you could READ, you'd see that..." or something insulting in nature. Seems the only students who werent insulted were those who didnt participate at all. can't teach.
Nice guy but poor instructor, take him if you can grasp math easily.
Horrible professor, has ego problems. Makes more mistakes than other professors and refuses to acknowledge that he made one. Rather he tries to reason why it's correct or ignores the question implying that the asker is stupid (it's in english isn't it? cant you read? etc).
It is a good thing that he goes by the book! I've seen better professors but he is ok...
dont take his classes the worst ever!!!!!!!!
DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!!!!
ok honestly, he isnt that bad. he teaches STRAIGHT OUTTA THE TEXTBOOK. his exams are similiar to hw problms so if you do the homework passing w/ a B is possible. if you actually study the hws and just read the book..u'll do fine..but his teaching skills is not very well. he writes a million theorems on the board. not bad thougl
He is so condescending to students. If you don't understand something he'll just say "well i cant really say it any slower than this." He teaches straight out of the textbook so lectures are unbearably boring. The tests are pretty much straight from the homework though so if you do the work you'll get an ok grade.
If you want to learn, don't take him. He speaks low and seems like a very lazy professor.
This class was absolutely awful. From beginning to end he displays a subtle sense of urgency that all he wants to do is get the class over with. His grading system is ridiculous and he doesn't seem to mind that half the class fails his exams. Wanna take a professor that'll drop your gpa? This is just the class for you.
I want a refund. I could have asked my 8 year old little sister to copy, paste and recite everything in the textbook. He's not very friendly either.
He doesn'nt know how to teach and his notes just copy from textbook. He never care students' feeling and he never go over hw. He's wiseacre and stubborn. If you want to FAIL and WASTE TIME, take him. he's sucks.
This professor is very rude and should not be a teacher. He thinks he knows everything and treats students like we are retards. He have major attitude problem and don't explain things so his students can learn. One of my friend also withdrew from class and she went to tell him that she is going to withdrew,he said"that's your problem.he do not car
Care* If you ask him to go over something that he just explained, His attitude changes and tone of voice and rude. He also says things like" i just explained it in english" Please DON'T take this professor . Its a waste of money and you will not learn anything in the end. Bad teaching skills and major attitude towards students and questions
If you know what is good for you, just do not spend your money paying this guy to teach , when he is theeee most disrespectful professor with major attitude problem. My GPA is 3.6 and never had a problem with professors, but this guy is stuck up in his EGO. I dropped his class the by midterms. Once he told a student 'Shut you!!"
A student told him nicely that she did not appreciate him ignoring her questions and being disrespectful, he told the student"Shut up, U r disrespectful " and everyone in the class started arguing with him because we are paying his salary to teach us and be respectful to us just as much we are to him. He hates students, never smile,ATTITUDE stinks
Funny, to see that someone took math 205 when there is no math 205. Anyway in the 231 class all he did was follow the textbook.
Beware of a lot of homework. Other than that he is fair grader and exams are like homework.
He is not fair in anyway . My class had 3 exams , I got higher than my friend in all his exams and then in the final i got 89 and my friend got 72. He give her A and i got B-. How is that fair? I hated that class all the way until the last day . He have major attitude and never smilies. He think he knows it all, just because he does research for QC
terrible professor! do not take him! he's rude and has a bad attitude and he doesnt give a rats bottom if you understand or not... i was reading all the comments below and the good ones are probably written by him so people will take his class. avoid his class if you want to do well!!!
I pay full tuation, and I think I deserve a refund . He is not a people person, very rude and thinks he knows everything. He should not be a professor. Maybe he knows math, but that does not make him a qualified professor. I hate him for making students , including me, feel like we were idiots and made people scared to ask questions. DO NOT TAKE HI
Do not take this class. No matter who you are, he will make you feel stupid. Does not know how to teach. He knows Math and will let you know how smart he is. Unfortunately, he does not know how to teach. He is unapproachable which makes it difficult to learn. Major EGO.
Koroveshi is a great professor, he teaches at the pace that is *expected* at the level of 119. Meaning, if you feel stupid in the class that isn't his fault. His job isn't to re-teach everyone what they should have learned in high school. I was in the class and had no idea how he had so much patience with some of the students.
He doesnt actually teach anything in this class. What he does is give you homework without going over the subject and expect you to be able to do it. Then he will review the homework by himself working out the problems without explanation. when you ask a question he gets offended or doesnt answer you.
I would never take his class again. I believe he knows his Math but definitely does not know how to teach.
He is a fair teacher. His tests are pretty hard but are made up of questions entirely from the text book. Keeps office hours pretty consistently and is very willing to answer whatever questions you have during this time. Do the homework, go to class and ask him questions during office hours and you should do well.
he is very helpful in office hours and will go over whatever you ask him to. His lectures are straight from the text book. Biggest fault is that he will spend too much time answering a stupid or unrelated question but he seems to cover all the material.
I'm hard pressed to find any good professor's in Queens College's math department. My search continues. Reading the textbook should be MANDATORY.
I did not have a problem with the way he teaches but his tests are very difficult there are a few questions on the test that resemble our homework but some questions that are just ridiculous on not went over
Don't take unless you absolutely have too. He puts up a TON of mistakes on the board and has a very arrogant attitude. When I say he puts up mistakes, I'm taking about several times he had a difficulty in integrating and makes easy stuff extremely hard. Can not teach, take an alternative.
He's a good guy, though slightly arrogant at times. If you are a solid math student, or have taken this class before, you'll be ok. If you are weak in areas, then he's not the professor for you as he skips steps that he assumes you should know already. Yes, he makes mistakes at the board, but he know his stuff. Exams were like the hw problems.
Cool guy, makes alot of sarcastic jokes that go over sensitive students heads. Gives so much partial credit and extra credit its impossible to get under a B in his course unless you really dont try at all.
He is a pretty cool guy, but a hard grader. he gives partial credit on tests. study the hw dont study the practice tests.
I had to learn the material outside class through online videos. avoid at all costs..
I had no choice but to take this class. Shame on Queens College that they don't have good professor for evening college student. He doesn't give review at all. Even he does, it comes up totally different on the exam. He made the final so hard and totally different (included those chapters he asked us not to study). Skip him if you have a choice.
It's depressing to see that the whole class does horrible on his tests. He does, however give extra credit, but his tests have nothing to do with what he talks about! He loves proofs, and will test on proofs such as the Epsilon Theory. Math department is horrible at QC, choose a good professor. Take Blendi at your own risk.
He tries very hard to give over the material comprehensively but goes 2 much into theory so gets confusing. goes over only the simple versions in class. even if you teach yourself the material, the tests have nothing to do with anything and the avg. is usually below a 65.
Very hard to understand when he teaches, maybe he should find another way to teach his course! He is nice and helpful though, but the way he teaches is confusing!
By far one of the worst professors to teach this subject in QC. My fellow peers you have been warned this man confuses the whole entire class let alone has a nasty attitude. If you dare ask him a question he gets all mad an sometimes ignores you. His tests are ridiculously hard and he doesn't give partial credit for work shown.
Worst profesor in queens colege. stay away at all costs! the class average was under a 50 and he would blame us and not give any curve. s/o who got a 5 on ap calc (highest grade)was only able to pul a c+. he doesn't teach the material and even if you teach it to urself and know it cold, the test has nothing to do w/ a/t.
I promise you, this is the absolute worse teacher you can get for this subject. He's terrible. It makes sense if you have a good teacher who gives hard tests or a bad teacher who gives easy tests. Koroveshi is a bad teacher who gives HARD tests. The examples he does in class are simple & easy but the test questions are crazy hard and different.
By no means is he an easy professor... that being said i got a good grade with a lot of effort. I'm not really a math person but this is a class i needed to take. he is kind of intimidating, but he answers questions thoroughly. besides that i don't think i would have learned calculus if i didn't take him. (take if you want a good foundation)
He is a very difficult professor no doubt about that. I wouldn't take him if your not a math student. But while his class may be hard his main goal is for you to grasp the concept and if you can do that he will give you a rather good grade. So if you have him listen to this, and make sure you talk with him it will help distinguish yourself
Not an easy class requires ones effort more then professors.
Terrible math proffessor . No curves for any of the exam. give 4 exams worth 22 each and 12 points for webassign hw. Don't take him if you want a good grade.
Do not take this professor by any means necessary. He is very unclear on his topics, and does not explain thoroughly. Be prepared to teach yourself in this class.
The class is much less material than other 241 classes. The material itself is not hard, but expect to teach it to yourself again. If you put HW on the board everyday, that will help you towards your final grade. He is very lenient in grading tests. His tests are confusing though. Get to class early to have a chance to put up hw. It is 4 tests.
One of the worse math professors. if you come from a strong math background or you took a physics class before you will be fine. I took his class twice and got a worse grade the second time taking him. His exams are not hard is about everything covered in class and he's a good grader. he's to smart to simplify math. He's no clear no even his writt
This professor is hilarious. He gives a lot of partial credits on the test. Also, he gives extra points on the overall grade if you put up homework on the board before class. I recommend taking this professor because even if the class material is hard, he is a really generous grader. FYI, test questions aren't hard at all.
I never liked Probabilities and Statistics but this professor totally changed my mindset. I hope he teaches some more other classes. He's straight forward. He's good. I STRONGLY recommend anyone taking MATH 241
Do not take this teacher. He is without a doubt a very smart guy, but he is too arrogant to see that his teaching style is not effective. Yr after yr the class average is always a 60 for every exam yet he refuses to change. I did okay in the class but it was demoralizing to see students dropping his class after every exam.
He assigns webassign homework and normal textbook homework which isn't required. I highly suggest you do the textbook homework since his test problems are straight from the textbook homework. Also he gives 6 extra points to total grade if you put homework on board everyday. Try your best to put problems up on the board. He gives partial cred. exam
Beware I advise you sincerely please do not take this professor if you have a week base in math Get ready to learn everything by yourself because his lectures wont do any good His tests are totally different than what he teaches in class Half of the class failed his tests 50 percent of students dropped out Take him at your own risk.
Great Prof, he can be intimidating sometimes when he thinks questions are simple but will answer them so don't be scared by his demeanor. Listen in class, ask questions when you need to and do the homework. He teaches a little bit more than the department requires but he is a lenient grader.
Taken him twice, first for 152 (Calc 2) and now for 241 (prob.) The course is hard but is going to be hard regardless of the teacher. He gives you all the tools to pass- you got to use them. He gives optional homework but you should do them for extra credit and practice. He grades leniently, lots of partial credit. He' also nice and a funny guy
There are 4 tests. There is no curve. He doesn't collect hw, but you can do the hw problems on the board for some extra points to your grade. His tests are about 5 or 6 questions, and they are hard, but based off of hw. His lectures are okay, mostly just spits theorems, and does maybe one example and thats it.
Read ,a lot of hw.
Koroveshi is an okay professor. Gives easy exams. Do the webassign hw. Not too hard to get an A. His examples are straight from the textbook though.
Whatever you do, do not take this professor for discrete math. He assigns way to much homework and does not teach the material well enough. You pretty much have to learn everything yourself by reading the book. If you know the material his exams aren't bad, however it is up to you to learn the material properly because he sure won't teach it well.
If you take 120 with Koroveshi you're going to be teaching yourself the material. Less than the bare minimum is explained in lecture & most textbook sections are rushed. His grading criteria is clear though. Don't take this professor for this or any class unless it's your last resort. Your GPA will surely suffer.
Discrete math is tough subject. I had to study a lot but the prof made it easy for us by not taking cumulative final test. Each tests were based on 4, 5 chapters and most of the questions on the tests were from home work. So do the hw in order to pass.
Worst math professor ever!! please dont take calc with him if you want to pass. He is smart but he cant teach. He gets annoyed when students ask him questions.
Hes goes through the lessons quick. he expects you to know trig but he does do a review in the beginning. His class is fast pace but he always stops and ask if anyone is confused. in the beginning of each class he sets aside time for question from the previous lecture. Pay attention, ask questions, and PRACTICE!!!! youll do fine
Everyone hating on Koroveshi simply do not study or expect an easy A for no work put in. By all means everyone should be able to pass any course he gives. He grades leniently and gives loads of partial credit. All you have to do is put in some work and show you have some knowledge of what he taught and you'll pass. If you don't try, you wont pass.
Professor Koroveshi is an amazing person. Took him for Math 120, then Math 241. Teaches fairly well. My only concerns are: 1. He teaches in a very specific manner. And sometimes has a hard time explaining the same concept differently. 2. The grade is entirely dependent on how well you do on the exam. 3 midterms and 1 final. FYI: He does not curve.
Koroveshi teaches well and he isn't mean at all (he's quite funny on occasion). Expect to study a lot and do about 4 tests and 12 online homeworks for the semester. His tests are pretty hard, but he gives loads of partial credit (a test I thought I was going to get a 10/22 on I actually got a 15/22). His class is straightforward and passable.
Do not only depend on his lecture, I repeat, do not only depend on his lecture. Make sure you read the book as well each chapter and understand thoroughly before doing the homework. He will confuse a lot during his lectures so you need to make sure you understand each concept. He can be generous on his grading though.
Not the best lecturer I must say, but tests are just like the hw. If you understand the hw and read the text book you'll be fine. Why does everyone say he's a tough grader? he give ALOT of partial credit, literally write anything down and you'll get at least a point. He's funny and down to earth, pretty chill guy. extra credit for putting up the hw
He's one of the best math professors at QC. His tests are like piece of cake
Blendi isn't an awful instructor, but he has his flaws, which RMP probably made clear already. Although he's quite gracious with partial credit, his tests are REALLY hard as he uses the hardest examples from the book (which he seldom touches in class). He can come across as rude and condescending at times as well. His grading policy is BRUTAL.
4 exams throughout the semester 25% each, not that difficult if you do all your homework because all the exam questions come from the homework. But everything is self study, you will not learn anything
One of the better math professors tbh. Grade is completely based off of tests but if you put up homework questions on the board consistently you get a 2/3 grade boost which is huge. The homework isn't mandatory but the tests are almost identical to the homework. Basically, if you do homework, the class is a breeze.
Do all the homework problems before your exams and you should be good. Try to write as much as you can on the exam problems even if you don't know what you're doing; he gives a TON of partial credit. Heck, you can even make up your own formulas. I thought I was going to fail but this legend gave me a C-. If you're trying to get a C-, go for him.
Prof does not do a good job explaining the material but gives partial credit on tests.
His lectures are straight-forward but you have to study regularly, even early in the semester when the material seems very easy, because it is harder than it seems. The "math" is easy, but there is a lot of problem solving/critical thinking about problems (that's the nature of probability), so it is important to do a lot of practice problems.
Koroveshi teaches with a lot of sass. Don't ask him questions he will respond with an attitude. He lacks the basic knowledge of teaching. Shame on QC for not monitoring their teachers. Pick another professor.
Absolutely the worst Prof at QC. He has the biggest attitude towards students and gets offended when you correct him. His exams are nothing like the work he assigns! The textbook is free online. Honestly, only take him if it really is your absolute last option. I literally learned nothing from him and had to study on my own.
Non of what he speaks about in his lectures are in his homework, and I'm not sticking around to see if he treats his tests the same way. I took the summer 2020 course at QC, and I dropped after I spent 6 hours a day just on homework alone since I have to use the internet to solve the problems since the book, or professor can't help me do that.
He is a great professor and very lenient. I would truly recommend. He is quick to respond to emails and answers all your questions in detail.
So mean. Do not choose him!! His quiz is so easy but his final is very very hard. Even though you study very hard during the semester. However, still can not get an A. There are two videos per week and each video is only 10-30 minutes long. So, it is very hard even though you study by yourself. If you want to get bad grade, choose him anyway.
have to study every day and a lot of hw. His grading criteria are very specific and also a lenient grader. He is ready to answer your questions, but his exams are not too easy.
He is a fair professor. You do have to work for your grade and practice a lot because probability involves a lot of thinking on how to apply the formula/theorem. Sometimes he is not very clear in explanations. He was lenient and understanding, his quizzes were simple, but his exams were hard, though you will still do fine if you study hard.
Great professor. I see there is a lot of negative comments, but it's a math course. You don't just show up and pass. Yes, we can have off days but he is a lenient grader. Studying is important and you need to learn all the material before showing up for an exam. . Don't show up for exams unprepared, he with light you up big time!
This guy is soooo freaking bad omg. Doesn't teach anything clearly, tests and quizzes are the hardest problems, and the homework is different from what he writes on the board. His class makes me want to drop out and move to another country.
This professor is knowledgeable in math, however, he doesn't know how to teach it in a way that a student can understand. A lot of the material is self teach as he goes over examples that are easy, compared to the homework. For exams, PLEASE DO AND STUDY THE TEXTBOOK QUESTIONS!!! The exam will be similar to those. He is a very lenient grader also.
He is a fine Professor who sometimes makes jokes. If you are planning to take him, be ready to study a lot independently. Below I'll list some pros and cons of his class. Pro: - He gives a lot of partial credits on exams and quiz - Quiz Is based on homework Cons: -Attendance matters, if you miss one day, you would get some point off. - Hard 4 exams
Disgusting! Never ever take him EVER!!! U will have to teach everything to URSELF!!! EXAMS HAD NOTHING to do with homework or anything. IT WAS TOUGH
I havent been through the full course yet, but I have taken the course before(more than once.) His lectures are easy to follow, the homework is not too difficult, he has ample amounts of office hours, and is big on dad jokes. He associates graphs and concepts with real world tasks often to help you better understand. So far, so good. Will update.
If you'er a slow learner don't take him. He is not good.
He knows lots about math but he doesn't know how to teach them.
He is a really good professor. Do what you're supposed to do and you will be fine.
Terrible
All of the bad reviews are from scrub students who think they can get by without having to put in an effort. This guy gives so much partial credit on quizzes and tests that if you did fail, that means you deserved it. It's easy to do well in this class if you just do your job as a student.
He's pretty funny and his personality definitely grew on me. The actual material you learn isn't that hard but he is not the best teacher. His work can be very hard to follow. Sometimes people ask homework questions and he'll just solve them silently then turn around and say "do you agree?" In class he reminds himself of the material he is teaching.
I got a good grade and passed, but I had to study all by myself. He gives partial grades and stuff. He is rlly strict too. But he is extremely difficult. I would not take him again.
He has a very clear grading criteria. You lose points if you miss classes without valid excuses. 2 mids, 1 final, 4 quizzes. I honestly thought I would fail the class cuz the final was tough, but Professor definitely graded very leniently! Do hws, and quizzes are super easy.
CONS: The HW problems were extremely difficult and its only worth 8%, the reviews aren't unhelpful prepare to self study everything, goes over defn's but you need to do your own examples to help grasp the material, tests are nothing like the Hw/class examples if any, Attendance is mandatory and if you miss a class -1pts your total grade. Hard pass.
The topic of statistics is pretty difficult in my opinion. The professor goes over it pretty well. I could have put in more work to get a better grade. He was very lenient in grading the final. I enjoyed the course, he's very intelligent and good at explaining problems. But you have to put in the effort otherwise you will drown. I wish I did.
Super Difficult Exams. no curve. Ie. class average for a midterm was around 55, Highest grade was low 80's. There is no curve. I would take someone else.
I got a B+ but regardless of the grade, you should not take his class. I am disappointed by the experience I had with this professor. He loves hearing his own voice and often goes off on tangents. Think twice before signing up, as you're likely to leave feeling frustrated having wasted an entire semester's worth of time sitting in a class with him
not a good teacher
Good class but just difficult material. Professor Blendi structured the 231 curriculum well and he's very knowledgeable about the subject. Attendance, HWs, 4 quizzes, and 2 exams plus 1 final are the grading criteria, he gives partial credit! You'll do well if you show up to class and do all the HWs. His classes are light-hearted and funny.
First impression: Cool. Actually: nice guy. You need time to find your step in the lecture because it goes really fast. Materials are hard so you have to put in effort but worth it. Go to 141 if you are not good at math.
I went in exams unprepared and feeling like I failed afterwards but still ended up passing due to his lenient grading. He gives a lot of extra points but besides all his vibe is unmatched. He's hilarious and makes it worth coming to class. Attendance is mandatory though and points will be taken off for absences.
During the beginning, he can seem as a very intimidating man but as the semester goes on, you can see that really isn't. If you put effort in that class and do what you have to, then you are fine. Remember to study and do all homework.
I took his 231 class in the Fall 2023 semester. Overall he's a good person and professor. The 231 work is difficult but it's evident from day 1 he knows the material. He answers everyone's questions and problems - speak up in class if you're confused. The grading rubric is clear from day 1, do the homework and you'll be prepared for the tests.
Lectures are great and easy to understand, I would recommend going because it is helpful. He does not curve exams, gives 4 quizzes(Does not grade harshly and not life altering important test), attendance matters and gives homework. Professor is nice and can be funny at times. BE PREPARED TO DO A LOT OF SELF STUDYING.
Professor Blendi's 231 course is challenging but engaging. He's knowledgeable and makes class fun. Doing the homework and utilizing resources like unstuck AI are key to success. Attendance is mandatory, but the grading is fair.
Honestly a good teacher, communicates pretty well, sometimes could be alittle bland, but overall was a good experience.
Prof Koroveshi is a good lecturer, and attending lectures are mandatory. 4 quizzes worth 12 pts total, 2 midterms worth 17 each and the final worth 39. No curve but extremely lenient grader, he will give you a decent amount of partial credit as long as you attempt to solve it. Show up, do your hw and self study a bit and you'll do great.
Blendi Koroveshi's prior ratings make no sense, as this man is a PHENOMENAL professor. Math is like a natural first language to him. I took him for winter 2025 and I passed his class. 2 quizzes, 2 exams, homeworks, and class participation made up the grade. He is very lenient and understanding about life circumstances. He's by far my favorite prof.
He is a King. He can be sassy but he is very fair. He is a great teacher and cares to help his students. Taken him twice and math felt so much clearer every time.
Blendi is the GOAT. I honestly don't write reviews, but Blendi deserves one. He is not only intelligent but he is also funny. He truly cares for his students, and is very lenient and understanding. Math 131 isn't an easy class, especially for a Winter term, but Blendi tried his best to make everything as clear as day. Definitely recommend.
The professor was rude and encouraged questions, but would mock the student for asking if the question seemed simple to him. The tests were not too bad, although he was tough when grading. He will cold call if you seem like you're messing around. Encourages participation.
Professor Koroveshi assigns a lot of homeowork to students. He is very detailed in his lessons however, his assignments are a heavy load.
Good and Detailed, but be prepared to read and suffer! if you aren't familiar with math or the material then don't take him, you need a lot of background knowledge in order to succeed.
Awful, doesn't respect students. Somewhat racist, too. Doesn't reply to email. If he is your teacher, go to The Main street and jump in front of a moving semi. Please save yourself, because I couldn't. May god be with you.
Horrible. Writes his own positive reviews on RMP where he describes himself as "good looking" -- LOL! There's only one person in the whole world that has these sentiments about Koroveshi, and that's Koroveshi.
Good teacher explains work rlly well.
Understood when I kept having to leave early due to my sister being sick and other urgent family matters, didn't mark me absent. He is a great teacher with good lectures and curve and doesn't grade that harshly, he's funny/interesting to talk to even out of class. Answers questions well. 5/5 teach in all honesty, just do your work and u'll be fine.
absolute GOAT. i got a B cuz i didnt pay attention in lectures and didnt go to office hrs BUT he was always willing to help, and whenever i did listen his explanations were clear. he gives LOADS of partial credit and is a very sweet and kind person. would recommend.
Very mean-spirited and self-absorbed professor. I don't really care how many languages you learn, can you please teach me math? Honestly seemed to take delight when others failed. Should have taken the advice of others here to avoid
Blendi makes this course look UNFAIRLY difficult. He goes way too hard on the students. He grades very harshly. On the latest quiz, he gave everyone the shortest amount of time to complete, and because of that, the majority didn't do well. I never did so BAD in a math course ever, coming from a student who's always exceeded in math.
Blendi is honestly NOT for the weak, but he does explain every subject very thoroughly. The only issue is that he goes through some problems a bit TOO quickly because the man is a genius and he forgets to explain very simple steps that could lose some students. His personality is intense, but does have a sense of humor. He encourages participation
