whoever rated her as bad for 311 C probably ranks in the lower 25% of UT, becaues this class is incredibly, incredibly easy if you put ANY amount of effort into it. In high school were you one to study a lot of details for biology? If so you'll get an A on everything and feel like you wasted your time. It's not even necessary.

You fail 2 tests you should drop the class.

You definitely have to read your book and learn to take good notes in the class because basing only on lecture isn't going to help you. She gives 6 pop quizzes so you can miss some class once you figure out her pattern, but I advise going. Tests can be a bit difficult, it's the usually, a few essay, some fill in the blank, TF and mult choice.

She is so rude & MEAN that it is hard to take her seriously as a teacher.

I am currently taking this class. She says she tries not to trick you, meanwhile, all of her quizzes have 20 "select all that apply" questions which are made, quite literally to fool you. Her TAs get off on taking points off the most minuscule errors known to man when it comes to the project components. You'd be better off taking any other class.

Dr. McClellan is great. The quizzes are not as easy as they initially seem. But if you show up to class and pay attention, you'll do well. You must attend discussion session, there is an important group project you work on only during that portion of the class. If you just put in effort, an A is easy.

DO NOT rely solely on her PowerPoint slides to get by on the quizzes! You definitely need to show up to class and take notes, as there will be questions based on things she says offhandedly during lecture. With that, it's possible to get an A, but it requires big effort. Don't listen to others that claim it's still the blowoff it was pre-COVID.

She is a nice person but her class format is definitely not the best. The class consists of 7 quizzes that are unnecessarily difficult as they consist of "select all that apply" questions. She says that the questions are not meant to trick you but it's clear that she is trying to make it very difficult to get full credit (very subjective choices).

Dr. McClelland is an amazing professor, however her class is a run a bit difficultly. Your grade is determined by 7 quizzes with select-all-that-apply questions only. The discussion sections help boost your grade, but there is no other homework or extra credit for this course. I did enjoy the topic though, her lectures are interesting!

I truly enjoyed her lectures. She doesn't go fast at all and spent a lot of time talking about the topics we're going over. You can tell that she's passionate about the stuff she's teaching. Her quizzes weren't too hard as long as you go to the lectures and discussions.

Lecture slides are poorly organized and unprofessional, but they're all you've got since there's no textbook. 7 select-all type online quizzes. Questions often poorly worded and easily misinterpreted. Don't bring this up with her, though - despite a general friendliness, she quickly becomes rude and condescending when challenged or questioned.

By far my favorite lecturer at UT. In the 3 years I've been here, her 9AM class is the only one I've actually WANTED to attend. She's very engaging, and her course material is so relevant, especially if you're going to take the MCAT. Overall, she is personable and quite funny. Your grade consists only of 7 quizzes, but most do well.

Dr. McClelland is nice and funny. Lectures are slightly boring since she's just reading slides. Quizzes are hard and she'll include random or small things that she briefly mentioned in class. It's so easy to lose points on quizzes. The TA Brandi is a strict grader and docks points like her life depends on it. No communication b/w prof and TAs.

Absolutely loved her human bio lectures and her personality. The quizzes are formatted w/ select all questions but as long as you go to discussion and attend her lectures, you'll do fine (they're not as scary as you think). Make sure you understand all the concepts before taking quizzes. Grade was based on just 7 quizzes and discussion. Recommend.

Nice woman and interesting class. 80% of your grade comes from 7 exams that are mainly choose all that apply questions, which makes it difficult to do well. Exams were closed note, unproctored at home. You cannot skip class if you want to do well as she doesn't record lectures and a lot of the exam is based off what she says, not slides.

Grade is mainly based on only three tests which aren't application based, but memorization of the smallest details on the PowerPoints. It's really discouraging because the tests are select all that apply and Canvas will dock you extra points if you select a wrong answer choice. Lectures are fine, but they aren't representative of test difficulty.

The course grade is largely based on three tests, which mainly consist of "select all that apply" questions. While the overall concepts are straightforward, the tests focus on highly specific details from the lecture slides. I'd recommend a different professor if you prefer not to spend hours memorizing every small fact from the lectures.

I had her for human biology her lectures and the content is really interesting in my opinion I do enjoy lectures. She is funny However, you can understand all the material perfectly and still do mid on exams. It is really frustrating because questions are select all that apply and fill in the blank. The phrasing of the question can be confusing.

The entire grade based on 3 select all quizzes, making it very difficult to do well if you do badly on even one quiz. Used to be 7 quizzes which would have been a much better structure, she just changed it because its her last semester teaching and she's lazy?? Lots of KNOWN cheating on the first quiz messing up curve and nothing was done about it.

This class only had four grades, three test and discussion session participation. Overall, I liked the class and thought the professor was funny and had a good personality. The lectures were interesting to me and I was never bored. However, I didn't like her exams because she would test what I thought were irrelevant/ fun facts.

Your grade IS entirely determined by three "quizzes." On top of that, a bunch of people cheated on the first one, completely screwing up the curve and yet she did nothing about it.

Fun lecturer and a very sweet person. My biggest issue with the class were how the tests were formatted. Most questions are "choose all that apply" questions which feel like they're meant to trick you. To make it worse. your grade is entirely determined by 3 exams so try not to do poorly on any of them

Grade is based off of 3 exams & participation (75%/25%). Exams were very specific and don't really test you on the important stuff. Most of the questions are select all that apply. The tests are hit or miss; the time spent studying doesn't correlate well with your grade. The content is not that difficult to understand, just lots of memorization.
