Bob is a very nice man. He's a good teacher if you ask questions and make it past his accent. Overall, he is caring and loves the subject and his students.
Bob is the man. He really cares about his students and will help you whenever you ask. Very friendly though his accent takes some getting used to. Tests were hard for me, but I always have sucked at math. Best math teacher I have ever had.
This is the best possible teacher anyone could have for math 60. he will stay hours after class and even skimp on lunch breaks just so he can teach his students. his tests are difficult, but that is just the nature of algebra. You rock Bob
He is so nice. Best math teacher I have ever had!!
Bob is the best teacher I have ever had. He will do anything for his students. His class was hard, but he teaches well so lots of people get A's. I am going to take every math class Bob teaches at Palomar.
My sister is taking this class and will not stop talking about how great he is. Said he just won some teaching award too.
I hope you like homework if you decide to take this class because he checks it! Accent yes, but what math teacher doesn't have one? Explains until you understand, perfect match if you love the subject as much as he does.
Stresses understanding of concepts and encourages students to help tutor/teach other students in the class. He is very attentive to helping anyone at anytime.
He is a good teacher if you are a math major, otherwise very tough. He wants you to take an intuitive leap. So if you only want to fill a requirement pick someone else.
Funny guy! Great professor!
he wants you to learn. Awesome teacher.
ALL u read & then some!U GET BACK WHAT U PUT IN!Bob(not even his real name)will do anything 2help.So bummed he wasnt teaching what I needed now. Dont be shy!!and if the material starts to get too rough- ask him how cold it is in Chicago, or about his fish
Great Teacher. Excited and extremely Enthusiastic. I haven't met anyone who hasn't liked Bob or hasn't said he's great.
Great teacher. He truely wants you to learn math and understand it. Good sense of humor and makes math more fun with his stories. Doing the homework will give points to his tests.
He is always telling us, "Look its easy. Don't be afraid of math." And I am totally afraid of math, but he helps me to see it clearly.
once you get past the accent you have to deal with the bad sense of humor... dont worry... you can live through it... he is an easy teacher to deal with... the homework aint heavy either.
he's hilarious
Bob (his real name is Bahram) was a great influence for me. Not only did he teach me to love math again, but he also taught me a lot about life, and gave me a way to see it in a positive way. Take all of his classes that you can; he's a unique human being who has more to offer than any prof I know.
This is such a nice teacher! If you hate hearing about math, just bring up pizza. He loves to go off about that.
Bob is an AWESOME TEACHER! I hate math so much and I am really bad at it and he really got through to me. I understand it so much more now. He is also hilarious . He cares about his students and he will work with you until you get it. Bob is a great teacher
Just take Bob and you will get an A! He's the best. He cares about all his students and will do everything he can to help you succeed in his class. He is very positive, has a great philosophy on life. Plus his jokes will keep you laughing. Makes math fun and loves to talk about pizza.
yOU CAN DO MATH! DONT LET IT BOTHER YOU! That's what you'll hear. Get over the accent, give it some effort, & you will love Bob as I do! I've taken a lot of math since him, and i miss him!
Bob is awesome. He loves his students and is always willing to help. He is really nice and loves to teach-very organized, highly recommend him. also he's a very good person.
Awesome teacher! I had Bob as my Calculus 1 teacher at Mt. San Jacinto College several years ago and he really made me become interested in math and now I'm at Cal Poly SLO as a Math major because of his positive influence. Take his class...you'll love it!!! =)
I definately recommend taking Bob. He could be making so much more money but he chooses to teach and he really loves it. He grades very fairly. He made math an overall good experience and I hate math.
Bob is a great teacher, but just to fast for me. I failed the class, but stayed thoughout the entire semester just so I could learn as much as possible. He works with students and wants each and everyone of them to pass. Take Bob if you know a little bit about Math. Your grade is based on tests only
Great teacher, very funny. He actually wants his students to do well. Always willing to help out and answer any kind of questions. He made a 2.5 hour night class enjoyable with his humor.
Bob is so awsome.Towards the end of the semester he helped me so much.Yes..he is a difficult teacher and he knows it, but he's a great guy. Tests are so so and he adds 5 points to them each time if you do all of your homework. I got an A..Cool class but can be stressful at times. He's also funny!
I tried to crash his class. He was VERY VERY unpatient, and when I asked him if I could crash his class, he said, "Absolutely NOT!" Yeah, psh. whatever, I found a much better math teacher.
GREAT TEACHER ,,GREAT TEACHER ,,
very hard to understand, pretty good, but easy to zone out on
Great teacher, accent wasn't a problem. Knows his stuff. Reasonable HW assignments and tests. Happy guy, polite, humble, loves to tell corny jokes. At least he has a sense of humor. Fair grader. For Algebra final, learn [f(x+h)-f(x)]/h. Hate math, but he made it enjoyable.
One of the best math teachers i have ever had! he is funny, caring and wants you to learn! he does talk about pizza alot and makes you hungry, but the time passes fast, i reccomend him to anyone who hates math, he makes it painless accent was not really a problem.
Bob is the BEST math teacher I have ever had. I HATE math and he made it fun and amusing. If I could I would take him for all my math classes.
funny guy...
Bob definately makes math fun. I absolutely hated math before taking his class and now I actually like it! Great teacher, very funny too!

real nice guy.
He really wants you to learn the material and he gives you points for trying
Bob is an awsome teacher. I spent about ten hours a week in the math lab, but he's in there during the week to help out and he really cares about his students. He's also a great person to talk to about life. I'd say he's one of the most challenging math teachers at Palomar but tries to give extra credit on tests when he can.
very help full
Bob, as he calls himself, is one of the best Math teachers I've ever had! He really wants you to know math and to learn it! Bob is funny, even with the accent, and knows math up one side and down the other. I'm going to make sure and take him for the rest of my math life!
Bob is the BEST!I hated math before i had his class.he is very funny and makes math fun. he will explain any concept as many times as you need him to! he cares about every one of his students!he is so nice and makes math interesting and easier to understand.
Bob is one of the most hilarious, entertaning, helpful teacher I've ever had. I took his class this past summer& I thought he made math pretty easy considering the class was accelerated. (Must be REALLY easy during regular semester)His grading is somewhat harsh, only because each 10 Qs is worth 10 points &just missing one can bump your grade down.
friendly, caring, and helpful...and super funny!!!
Bob is a good professor just make sure not to miss a class or you'll regret you ever did he is a hard grader, but if he sees you trying really hard I think he'll cut you some slack
He says he's from Mars, loves to eat pizza, and quotes everything about america, what could be better? he's a great teacher and loves helping his students succeed. very entertaining and makes math easy for those of us who are mathematically challenged! no other math teacher can compare!

He's awesomely funny! He helps us all with whatever we need.
Bob's an awesome teacher,.. he's funny and very helpful. He really tries to make you understand and he's very easy to get along with. He makes math really fun.. and i love going to his class. Take him if you hate math...he'll make you love it!!!

This is a very hard class to take. He is an extremley hard grader and not recommended unless you absolutley love math. He is nice but seriously does not know how to teach.
BOB IS AWESOME. I learned more from him than any teacher i've had yet. he is such a genius, its amazing to watch him do math. his class is hard, but when you're done, you will have learned a TON. THANKS BOB!
The only problem I had with this class is that he counted Attendence... Teachers should NEVER grade according to attendence
Great teacher! the only math teacher I have ever had that I liked. Hes funny and covers things very well. he will go over them again and again until everyone understands. homework is optional/extra credit.
I had Bob a while back... i just can't believe someone could think Bob can't teach math! He is the best math teacher, he set me on the road to get A's all through algerbra and calc. He is a great teacher, and a great man.
Bob is the BEST math teacher at Palomar! There is a lot to learn but he explains everything so clear and as many times as you need him to before moving on. Awesome sense of humor as well. TAKE HIS CLASS if you possibly can. Esp if math is not your favorite but you're not lazy. Lazy people will not make it.
bob is really a sweet guy, math 110 tests were really hard; he threw in twists that weren't on the homework or covered in class. I would only recommend him to math and science major, even though this class could hurt your GPA because the concepts learned in his class will stay with you through harder math and science classes.
Tests are FAIR. If you study and do the homework you'll be prepared. It's possible to get an A. Bob will give you a strong foundation in math, and he's a very funny guy. :D There's an important moral or truth to many of his stories. He cares about every single student and wants you to succeed at school and in life.
Bob's an awsome teacher. He is so tough though. If you take him for 110 and do well, you will be set in math through calculus. I am so glad that I took his class he drills the essentials of algebra/pre calc in your head so after this class, math seems a lot easier.
Bob is an awesome teacher, he tries 10 different ways to teach the same thing so EVERYONE in the class can understand it. He's very understanding about personal problems but he really pushes attendance because its math and its important. I recommend bob for this class.
Mr. Alidaee is a very nice guy. But as far as a teacher, he is just too hard to understand. I think that he can teach math well, his accent is just to strong if you are not a math wizz and need all the clarity you can get.
BOB IS THE BEST MATH TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD.HE IS A VERY ENTHUSIASTIC TEACHER. IN ADDITION, HIS TEACHING METHODS ARE THE BEST AMONGST PROFESSORS. AS LONG AS YOU DO ALL THE HOMEWORK AN A IS EASILY FEASIBLE.
Bob is the BEST math teacher that I know. Not only do you learn a lot but also have a lot of fun doing it. I highly recommend taking his class. He's GREAT!!!
bob was the best math teacher i've had in college. even if you hate math like i do, his humor and desire to help his students pass will make you want to attend class anyway. if you dont excel in math but make an effort, he'll go out of his way to help you. very funny, very nice guy.
Mr Alidaee is very nice guy but he is often difficult to understand and will rush thru the material quickly in lecture. Although if you ask him he will repeat himself until he thinks you have it. But his style can be overbearing as he rushes to convey the concepts to you. If your uneasy with math and need clarity often I do not recomend Mr. Alidae.
Great teacher. Don't miss class and go to math lab for tutoring. He explains concepts well and is willing to clarify further if you make an effort. He was very helpful in math lab... and a very nice, funny guy. One of my favorites @ Palomar.
Bob is a hilarious guy, but his teaching is lacking he moves very quickly and often rushes through his lecture. Bob is very nice and will help you if you ask and as in any college class one must do all the homework and study. With Bob I was basically teaching myself how to do everything. When I would e-mail or ask him a question he would try his be
Hard challenging tests. Hard to get a good grade on each test.
Bob is a really good teacher, but I do not recommend taking his classes if your just trying to get through math. His teaching style is to prepare you for a math major. Also if you can avoid taking fast trak with him that is a good idea
Awesome teacher, makes math look so simple. Works harder than most & goes out of his way to help people. Bob always says "you can" do math because he believes in his students. :) It's his always positive personality that makes him truly unforgettable as a teacher. You will love going to math class!
Bob is a great teacher if you are willing to work and actually want to learn. He will give you a good foundation so that you will continue to succeed IF you apply yourself. Bob is a funny, caring guy.
i love bob! he's very funny. i hate math though and he's not exactly easy. i had to have a private tutor to get through it. but his personality made me want to go to class anyway. he's such a funny guy.
EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT! Im sooo bad at math, so my grade was all my fault. (math lab strongly recommended) But I couldnt ask for a better math teacher! so funny, so interesing, awesome.
Bob is an amazing professor. He uses humor and sarcasim constantly making it difficult to stress out in his classes. Dont be late or leave his class early. He goes out of his way to help. His teaching style is quick and very clear. He jokes about his accent. He is crysal clear dont let anyone stop your from learning and suceeding in school.
Bob is great, really fun to have but really HARD. You will have a LOT of homework which can be used for credit on the exam. You can fall behind even by misssing one day, and you will spend your entire week doing homework. He's great and fun, but you will have quite a sometimes, overwhelming workload.
Bob is great. One of Palomar's best teachers. Do not take him if you are looking for the easy way through. You will have to learn to pass. Tests only have a few problems on them but they are doozies. "If you know 1 problem, you know 100." You just gotta "listen to bob!!!!!!" Take him if you want a firm foundation before going to higher math levels.
Bob is the worst teacher. He is rude and treats his students poorly. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. A big waste of time. He is hard to understandand is not clear in lecture. He get a 0
Bob tells great jokes! If you must take Algebra, take Bob's class.
The best math teacher I think I will ever have. I was so dumb when it comes to math and now I feel like I know so much. Amazing teacher. He makes math fun (sounds Impossible I know) Seriously i have nothing but amazing things to say about bob! He would stay with you till two in the morning to help you understand.
bob was one of the funniest teachers i ever had. 'cool cool' kept it interesting cuz i was laughing at his accent the entire time. great teacher. 'isnt math pretty'
Yes Bob is funny, and trys his best to keep everyone intersted and involved. Yet, its not the best class to take if you are not good at math... I spent 10 hours a week in math lab, did all the homework plus more. His tests only have 10 problems! I still failed!
I HATE MATH! This is my third attempt at Math 56. I am finally getting through it thanks to Bob! He is the best, he makes math understandable and he really cares! Not to mention he is hilarious. If you suck at math and hate it like me, GO TO BOB!
he was hard to understand because of his accent, so he did not explain the material that well. his tests were hard! you would do questions in the book and think you understood it but when you got the tests the problems were nothing you have ever seen; it was like he put 3 problems together.
Bob .....well you either love him or you hate him .... all i have to say is ask questions and he will answer his best or he'll go over them( 10,000 times ) joking ... no seriously ask questions over and over again .. and he will help you to understand math hes pretty funny too.. dont be shy ask questions .. I would take him again totally.
Accent gets in my way of clear learning. Sloppy white board writing. Tests don't look like homework, he makes up the questions and does not really like the book. I watched videos, did all and more of the homework, and went to extra tutoring hours, and i still got a 35 on the test. If your good at math take him, if your not.. don't take him.
Bob is a really funny teacher and a great guy, but he is very hard. His tests are made up of the hardest possible questions with tricks. His lectures are also hard to follow and he moves fast. If your good at math he is your best bet but if not don't take him...
Bob is a really good professor. He seems to really enjoy teaching. He works hard to make sure you understand the material. However, his tests are extremely hard. They are comprised of the hardest problems from multiple books. If you want to truely learn algebra, take him. He'll make sure you learn it. If you just need a grade, take someone else.
I'm taking the summer session so it's very fast paced, but there is no reason anybody can't understand math after his class. he is extremely helpful. his first priority is to get you to learn math and that's just what he will do! and his accent isn't bad at all. the onlt reason you wouldn't be able to understand him is if you didn't speak english!
Bob is a good teacher in the fact that he answers all your questions. He is funny but when it comes to learning the material he is too fast! By the time I was done writing the problem down he was already on the next! Expects you to spend all day in the math lab. Tests extremely hard! Did all hw and still did horrible on tests.
Bob is a really good teacher. He loves his students and makes alot of jokes to relax his students. And the jokes are actually funny! I am taking the summer session, so it is fast paced but he is very helpful. He will answer all of your questions. He is a passionate teacher and he wants you to do well and have a great future.
Oh man, Bob is seriously the BEST math teacher I have EVER had. Im bummed I won't have another math class with him. Not only did he answer ANY question, he ENCOURAGED THEM! He's very understanding of situations and is MORE than fair. His sense of humor is awesome! He made summer class way fun, and acctually something I didnt mind coming to.
Seriously you need to think twice before taking Bob. Overall he is a nice guy, but doesn't really teach. Even though he is dedicated in teaching his students, his notes aren't comprehensible and tests are extremely hard. I used to Ace all my math class until I have bob! He uses a totally different and hard text book than other professors!
Bob is a very intersting man. Although his class is tough, he is also an amazing teacher. He has a passion to teach and he wants his studednts to learn and pass his class. His tests aren't easy but if you do the homework and study you should be fine. If you are willing to work hard and if you ask for help there should be no issues passing.
Bob is the coolest math teacher I've ever had! Two and a half hours of Calc is tough but he makes it fun. Do your homework and go to class, it helps a lot. He is really dedicated to his student's success. If you have to take Calc, take Bob!
Cool person to hang out with but not really good teacher test are the hardest problems that he can think of
I took Math56 with Bob in Spring 2008. He's is a very cool guy. Homeworks are a lot, but it will help u to understand the course material better. U will be able to get xtra credit for attending the Math lab 4 90 hrs(whole semester)and 5 points for each of his homework(he collects his homework on the test day). Study well and u will get good grades.
AWESOME TEACHER!! Loved his accent,I actually paid more attention because of it. He does give a lot of HW but it helps out alot. He also wants his students to yell out answers even though they're wrong which I thought I was pretty cool.
this was a supplemental class for math 10 Mr. Alidaee was very helpful, I would have taken this class again
This was the hardest class Ive ever taken. He has a very thick accent, its hard to understand him. Hes just super fast and runs through things VERY quickly. My questions never got answered because he doesnt help you to understand. Hes just an overall bad teacher. Take someone else, you will struggle in his class!
He was a horrible teacher. DONT take bob. you will fail. if you want to fail then be my guest. He made us get a hard book that no one even uses and not even the tutors could help. His tests are hard and he doesn't go over the hw. Dont take bob! He makes up examples that dont have to do with the class and then he puts random questions on tests
THIS IS THE WORST CLASS EVER! he cannot teach and he's very rude to students. I've always been getting A's and his class was just weird for me. He's a horrible teacher. Don't take his class
he is not a good teacher. Dont take his class. All he does is make lil jokes and insult people. I dont like him and he cant teach. there were 40 students at first and in the end only 6 remained cuz all dropped...hes not a good teacher.
He was hard. extremely hard. but....if you're willing to put in the effort. you'll Ace it&&the things you learn in this class will help in the long term.
Best teacher!!!!
for my math level i cant imagine a prof better than bob. he is extremely fair. always in a good mood. extra credit for hw and mathlab. very clear if you go to class and keep up w HW! plus amazing person. not boring-makes class interact. very caring, sweet and encouraging
He likes to say he is a fair teacher, but in reality he is not. i completed all homework and all lab hours and still received a D. He assigns a ridiculous amount of homework. if you have a job i would say this is not the teacher for you. he is funny but does not give you updates about your grades nor assignments. plain and simple, i hate that class
Bob is a really funny guy and he is eager to help you succeed. Yes, he assigns a lot of homework. Your grade is based on 4 tests: three chapter tests and the final, which is on everything you have learned in the semester. If you are willing to make an effort you'll pass. I had to get a tutor but i'm not a math person. work hard, pass the clas
Bob is a good man at heart, but my oh my he is just too difficult. He puts problems on tests that he would put if he was teaching at CSUSM and that's not right. Doing the homework is highly recommended and you MUST study daily. don't take him if you forgot to bring what you learned from previous math classes. Otherwise, don't blow it. Have some fun
Don?t get this teacher for math 140. He doesn?t understand that if the entire class is falling behind, he needs to slow down instead of throwing things at us without explanations. 75% of my class dropped after the second test and of the 25% that did stay, half of them failed. I took it again with Mrs. Frazee and got an A no problem. Good-luck
Bob really wants his students to succeed. Don't take his class if you're a slacker. Lots of homework & the tests can be hard. People have said he isn't fair just beacuse they can't slack & still get a good grade, you have to do the work. Bob takes time to explain concepts before he moves on. He is also very funny. "talk to Bob, get involved"
Bob is a great teacher and an awsome person..... He is extreamly hard, so if you are a slacker do not take him... Bob prepares you for the next math coarse while still learning the current material... Most students can not appreciate a professor like BOB. He is hard and forces you to do your part and actually work and learn the material. Thanks!BOB
I LOVE BOB! HE IS AN AMAZING TEACHING! HE TRUELY CARES ABOUT HIS STUDENTS AND IS WILLING TO DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND THE MATERIAL. HE WILL DEFINITELY PREPARE YOU FOR THE NEXT MATH CLASS.
very nice got an a but had to do all homework. wat is on study guides will be on test and all the test will be on final.
To be completely honest what ever bad review bob gets on here is from a slacker. If you really want to get educated and understand the material 100%, take bob! yah you have to do alot of homework, and its hard, but lifes hard right? Plus he makes you laugh all the time. especially when he sais "bottom" in a british accent. hilarious!
I took Bob over summer and it was a lot of material all condensed into a very small time frame. However,Bob made sure to explain all the material as precise and explicit as he could.Bob is a wonderful and compassionate man, willing to take whatever steps he needs to help his students. His class can be difficult, but if you really try, "A" for effort.
I LOVED HIM.....GREAT TEACHER< AND SUPER FUNNY!
He was very hard- Hardest questions in chapter he tested on - Did not teach very well- I worked my ass off using the math lab and his tutor and I still dropped it. Would NEVER recommend him- personally nice guy.. but sucks as a teacher.
If you value your GPA and you actually want to learn, avoid this guy if possible. If you can't avoid him, then don't take math 110 with him. His teaching methods are horrible. His tests are insanely difficult. He takes incredibly simple concepts and morphs them into something far more complicated. Do not recommend this guy one bit.
This guy is terrible. he constantly says "I want you to pass", but that isn't true. His method of teaching is this: he barely teaches you how to ride a bicycle, you can barely balance yourself on it...then one hour later he throws you into BMX X-games. His tests are nearly impossible.
He gives the hardest possible problems on his tests and his tests are what you are graded on. He gives a lot of homework too. If you have no background in calculus or have no interest in math, I recommend a different teacher.
Do not take this teacher. He has a thick uncomprehensible accent. He spends half the class telling exaggerated stories or saying how much he loves American and teaching, then crams the rest on the time left with his actual lecture. His test problems are three times harder than anything he lectures on. He also does not like student to take notes
I took this class in the summer of last year as I failed a class in highschool. I've already taken the math course so it was technically review however it was a tough class. Hes a very cool guy but I was constantly stressed. I still ended up with an A however
Bob is an excellent teacher. If you show up to class everyday and listen to him, you will have no problem with homework and his tests are not impossible. Super funny and always willing to help you.
Worst teacher ever. Rude to student, does not want students to take notes!!! Yells "look at the board" if someone is taking notes. He has a thick accent and tells everyone he is from Mars. He might be crazy.
Good teacher. Very helpful and tries hard to keep his class interesting. Lively personality and likes to joke around. He does give out a lot of homework however so be prepaired if you take his class.
One of the best professor's I've ever had. He has his own sense of humor, and thick accent, which take getting used to. He will always take time to make sure you understand what you're doing, and offers extra help outside of class regularly. He is hard, but you WILL learn the material very well from him.
Cool guy! Explains everything fine and understandable. His accent is easy to understand. I like when he jokes. He called me few times with different name, and it was funny. Always says "Talk to Bob", "Lets do it together as a team!", "I want you to pass!", "Math is easy!" Great instructor overall. P.s. just do your homework on a regular basis.
"TALK TO BOB!" He is so sweet and genuinely wants you to succeed. He has his funny little comments like "make the little curly friezes like Arbys!" Do the homework though or else you'll fail the tests. Bob is awesome.
probably the best math teacher I've had. Absolutely passionate about helping students understand the subject. unlike 99% of math teachers he tries to keep it interesting and keeps the classroom lively and energized. He is NOT easy, but if you do the homework and pay attention in class you'll do well, he prepares you for future classes very well.
Bob was an awesome teacher. He truly cares for his students and wants them to pass. 100% involved in his class. Bob is hilarious which makes a math class more interesting. Not sure where he is from cause when asked he will just say "Mars." Take a class with Bob if you want to learn and not slack.
Bob is a really good teacher. He is funny, entertaining, a little hard to understand at times but cares for his students at heart. HW is not required but extra credit toward the Exam if you do it. Bob is extremely helpful when it comes to questions. Easy A if you do your work, study, and at least try to pay attention.
Bob was funny and very easygoing BUT this class is literally the hardest class I've ever taken. His tests are impossible to get a good grade and your grade is dependent on the 5 tests you have to take. He has an accent that is extremely hard to understand and his writing is terrible. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!
Bob is just the Best! His class is hard, but it is not something you really notice when you love going to the class. he keeps you interested and is very funny. I can see why his accent is hard for some to understand but he tries to not let it get in the way he will make fun of himself and you, but it is all in good fun! I highly suggest him!
omgosh.... this teacher is so hard at grading tests! he is a really good techer at teaching at it step by step.. and he is really funny but if u suck at math dont take him.. im having trouble with him already because of his grading... o and if you take forever at taking tests.. dont take him... hell give about 50min to do it...
Bob is the best teacher I have ever had! His class is pretty tough & is not for students looking to get an easy "A". But he is great at explaining the problems in a clear & understandable way. He is enthusiastic and really wants you to succeed! He is also the funniest person I've ever met! If he wasn't such a good teacher, he should be a comedian!
This teacher is terrible. He is super hard, and says when you have a question "look at the board." He tries to be funny by claiming he's from mars. This teacher overall is extremely difficult, and his accent doesn't make the subject any easier.... A LOT OF HOMEWORK! Don't take if you don't have a lot of time.
Could NOT understand him at all. He threw pens at people and the windows and shouted and screamed to get us to pay attention when everyone already was, resulting in scaring us to death. When asking a question he talks about how hes here to help and then DOESNT! Tests didnt match homework and homework didnt match lectures. DO NOT TAKE HIM!
HA!Bob is a great teacher. Tests are tough but FAIR.Be at class everyday! Participate and he will love you. He cares about you. He is always there to help you if you have a question. He is fair but tough. Do not take him if you want an easy A. Take him if you want to learn and prepare yourself for the next level. Thank you BOB! HA!
Amazing teacher! Very funny! He'll help you out if you need it and show interest in his class. As long as he sees your effort, you will pass!
Bob is a great guy. He really tries to make math understandable for everyone. I struggled horribly and thought for sure I would fail but ended up with a C. Let Bob take you to the buffet of math ( no french fries on Thursdays)
Bob is an amazing teacher! He really knows his math and teaches it well. Kinda hard to understand because of his accent but all in all, he was a great teacher.
Great Professor! He cares so much about his students and will NEVER give up on you! He really works so hard for us! He makes you challenge the mathematician in you, that's for sure. Very VERY fair! If you have a hard time testing under pressure I would suggest someone else. He is a math genius! Gives points for homework. Super funny & entertaining.
Bob is not clear in his teaching, he goes supper fast and doesn't answer ur questions clearly. PLEASE i strongly advise everyone not to take him ever, especially if u r not good at math, cuz if u can't keep up wit his fast talking and the fast pace don't bother. he give a lot of homework as well. @ the end of the semester there was only 10 student
A great guy, but very hard to understand. It seems sometimes he's going too fast even for himself. You stand a good chance if you're the outspoken type and communicate with him throughout the lecture, but if not, you might want a slower teacher. Homework is mandatory and he grades it.
If you want a teacher loves what they teach, Bob is that guy. He is really funny and explains everything so easily. The tests are a bit hard and I usually get A's on tests. I averaged B- to C+ on all tests including final but still got an A. He loves when students ask for help or get to math lab, that helps your grade. Take him!!!
BOB is ABSOLUTELY amazing, i am truly glad i took him for math 110, he spent 2 day covering logarithms for those who had trouble and will help you in anything, he has a good sense of humor that makes his class worth while. Plenty of extra credit attached onto tests.
Best teacher! He WANTS you to do well. But he gives a lot of homework and his exam questions are the hardest problems of the hw. If you do not do your hw its over for you. He is always available for extra help and explains things extremely well and has a good sense of humor which helps. Dont take if you arent willing to work hard you will fail!
Bob is the BEST teacher I have ever had for math. He keeps your attention with his great sense of humor. He's even stayed late for those who have questions or for those on test days who don't finish by the end of class. Yes, there is a lot of homework, but isn't there suppose to be in college? Wish I could take him for all my math classes.
Omg take math 60 instead of his math 56. His tests are ridiculous. He will throw a pen at the window when he gets angry. Also, he CURSES ALOT!
I took him over the summer of 2012. It is possible to get an A in this class but there is a lot of homework, but when you finish it, he adds 5 points to your test when you finish the chapter assignments. It was tough, but he is nice and is helpful especially during test days. If you take him during the summer, make sure you only have one class
I took the Summer class & it goes FAST. Yes, he's nice, but if you are Mathematically challenged DON'T take him. I felt the previous reviews were inaccurate so I want to be honest. He's helpful, but if you are not strong w/Math, I guarantee you will get overwhelmed. He speaks quickly & there's TOO much homework if you have to work & have a life.
Math 15.. Yes, he does curse A LOT which is uncalled for. Most of my classmates thought it was funny, but I didn't. He is a nice guy, but if I had it to do over again I would with another Professor.
What can I say about Bob other than he is an amazing teacher and overall human being. If you do your homework and come to class you WILL get at least a C. If you actually understand the work you will get an A. He gives an absolutely unheard of amount of extra credit. He is HILARIOUS! And a really sweet person. TAKE BOB! YOU WILL LOVE BOB!
This class was really hard. The class started with 50 students, yesterday we are just 13. Well, 12 after I drop. Ill give you a few pointers =)) NO CRASHERS, NO REVIEW BEFORE EXAM, NO QUESTIONS ABOUT HOMEWORK, MEMORIZE THEOREMS AND FORMULAS, NO LAPTOPS, CLASS WILL END 10min LATE, HOMEWORK 100% COMPLETED or NO CREDIT, HE MIGHT DO 3 SECTION PER CLASS
His class is so interesting. This is one math professor that really cares not only about math but if his students understand. He wants the best for his students. He will curse a lot but it's funny when he curses. He also funny. Don't expect him to put up with your bs because you don't want to do math
Bob was a great professor. Very methodical in his teaching approach and very personable and engaging. I would highly recommend this professor to anyone looking to take trig. His lessons have been invaluable in Calc1 and 2.
Funny teacher but when it comes to learning, good luck, his English sucks and he moves too fast that you fall behind. His tests are short and hmwk is mandatory or he will drop you 300 problems per chapt and barley any extra credit points
He will not answer questions so don’t bother coming in during office hours. He and I kid you not this is an actual quote: “I like to add things you don’t know to the tests to try to prove how smart you guys are.” He does just that 70-85% of my class dropped. DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER!
He is a very smart teacher and sometimes too smart. He goes very fast in his lecture and leaves you stranded if you can't keep up. His tests are very difficult. You do get 5 extra pts for doing homework. Class is mandatory and over half the class dropped by the end. I got an A in math 110 and barely got a B by studying many hours!!
Really hard class. I barely passed. When we started the class was full, at the end of the semester we were only 10 !!! (Fall 2012) If you are really good with homework and don't need a study guide take this class. He won't go over the test or homework.. if you can't do it you are on your own... good luck
BEST TEACHER EVER!!! i haaate math but bob alidaee made it entertaining for the students! he really looves his job and loves his students and wants us to do better. although he has an accent and goes through the material too fast just raise your hand and he will gladly help you. you will never be shy in his class. hes AWESOME
He's aight. I mean if u put forth the work effort and really pay attention in class and take notes. Its passable. Otherwise forget it. Tests are ridiculously hard and if u tell him u dounderstand something he'll either tell u to go study or he'll explain it really fast and when u still dont get it he will look disappointed in you.
He actually made math less of a hassle for me. so far he is the best teacher i've had that really tries to help me understand the math. you can't be lazy in his class you have to do all the hw if you want to do the extra credit, and participation is key.
Hands down the best teacher I've ever had. Bob makes fun of all of his students and even himself so dont take it personally. He teaches the material well and will help you as much as you need even if it means staying after class. Tests are intense with some tricky questions. Your not graded on ur test scores ur graded on how much you have learned.
Man, this class kicked my butt! Bob is a super funny and helpful guy, but his tests are out of this world difficult. Be prepared to memorize a whole lot of equations and do a whopping amount of HW. I spent a solid 4 hours after every single class doing work (no exaggeration here, people).
Bob is a great Professor and has a great sense of humor! He doesn't like it though when you talk in his class, and that's understandable. Talking is for outside the classroom, so do your work, ask questions to Bob you don't understand. If you listen to him and try your best you'll do fine in his class. He's the best professor I had so far!
Pretty hard class if you ask me. I tested into math 135 but it took me 1 year and 1/2 to finally take the class, so I was rusty in my math so it really kicked my rear. I would recommend taking math 110 and 115 before math 135. However, I did learn a ton in his class and appreciate him very much for that. And he does have a great sense of humor!
I LOVE THIS PROFESSOR. Yes, I have never worked so hard for a C in my LIFE, but he is hilarious and a 2 1/2 hour class goes by quick. Sometimes he is hard to understand, but just give him all your attention, it works. He really sees who tries, homework is MANDATORY, also many hours studying, if you want to actually learn math, take him.
If it all possible, avoid taking Bob as your teacher. He is the hardest teacher you will ever encounter. Do not take him. He has a 90% fail rate and does not grade on a curve ever. On the lighter note, he is a encouraging teacher and that is it. Be prepared to fail if you take Bob as your teacher.
This is the most sincere professor I have ever had. He really wants you to learn this stuff because he knows it will benefit us in the future. If you are up for a great challenge then I would recommend Bob 10 times out of 10. If your scared of hard work then look elsewhere for a professor. In the end, this class is worth it.
This teacher is hard. He grades fairly but expects you to remember everything. I would not recommend him as a teacher unless you are savant like in your math skills or have taken him since math 50. I got A's in the math classes before this and then barley got a C on this one. If you take him, good luck!
Fantastic professor. Curves grades. HW load is kinda high but very helpful for tests. He's the teacher to take if you've never been good at math.
Bob is a great professor with a great sense of humor, BUT HE IS NOT EASY. If you plan on putting in minimal effort like I did, do not expect to pass his class, which I did not. Go to class, ask questions, do the homework, ask more questions, and get an A. You will thank him when you get to harder math classes and actually know what you are doing.
Great teacher, very involved in the class. HE brings extra material and examples for the course. work very hard and study hard for a great. Although very hard, one of the best teachers i have ever had in math. prepares you for future math classes.
Bob is a great professor! Not just as a professor, but as a person. He is so kind and loves everyone, his major stance on his class is that "he doesn't fail you, you fail him." He gives you all the tools you need to pass, you just need to apply yourself. I would take him again, he's very smart and has a wonderful outlook on life. Take him!
He is so excited about math and that comes through in class. Very fast talker though
He's a great guy, & works hard as a teacher... But the TESTS!!! They HARDEST THINGS ON EARTH. I've never gotten lower than an A in ANY math class I've ever taken (I DO love math!) but got a solid F in this class. This class will do nothing but discourage you. Miss one class? DROPPED. Don't do a problem on the homework? DROPPED. Find someone else!
Bob is a good man, but the hardest professor I have ever had. He goes way too fast in lectures without being clear enough. Ask questions and he does not answer them well. Tests are ridiculously hard. I asked him for advice to pass the class and he said to try harder. I did not pass. Some students love him, but he's not the professor for everyone.
He's very difficult. There are no review days or study guides. He will assign homework the class before the test. That material will be on the test too. He also wants EVERY problem on your homework solved. Homework is mandatory but counts as extra credit. If you have a job or other hard classes, do not take him.
he is hilarious and make math worth it. but he gives A LOT of homework. his classes are great. just DO NOT take his "pre-calculus" class.
I've been out of college for years now, but I will always remember is Bob. I took him for a few courses. He most definitely makes you work for your grade BUT As long as you DO THE HOMEWORK and understand it, you'll do great on his exams. He likes to throw in the odd ball questions from HW assignments so pay attention! Great at explaining concepts!
Bob is an amazing professor! Show him that you're serious about your grade and he'll be there for you. His tests are tough! He forces you to learn and memorize theorems and identities, but it's definitely worth it. I would not be as proficient in math as I am now if it weren't for him. Take him! Do the homework and pay attention in class.
IM BEGGING YOU PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. I respect Bob as a person, but his class is horrid. His tests are the hardest I've ever seen, he even admitted to putting questions from Harvard on them. He has no review days and teaches lessons that will be on the test the class before the test. If you miss a class or don't do hw you will be dropped.
DONT TAKE THIS CLASS, ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO GET GREATER THAN A C. 50% of the class dropped after taking the first test and realizing how ridiculously hard it was. Another 30% of the class withdrew after taking his 2nd and 3rd test and accepting that they were not going to pass. There's like 10 people still enrolled and I wish them the best of luck.
Was he easy? no way. In fact I've never had to work this hard for a B. Then why take this class? Bob is 1 of the BEST professors I have ever had. Hilarious, genius, very helpful and takes his time to make sure you understand. He teaches you how to LEARN and gives extra credit to help you pass. Started with an 46% 1st half, ended with an 88%. G.L!
Very Good class for this semester! Its not definitely an easy A class. But if you studyhard, your chance to get an A is high. Although tests are kinda hard, you will learn things that are out of box. Inspirational professor! Professor Bob loves to joke! Inspire students to get good grades and outstanding degree!
Math 110 was very difficult but it wasn't due to the material. Professor Bob has very hard tests and doesn't provide a study guide. He does give out extra credit towards the end in the form of quizzes. I had to watch many online videos and go to tutoring towards the end to receive an A in the class. Best advice: take someone else.
He is a hard professor but prepares you better for MATH140. He gives extra credit a lot ( each test 10 marks if you do his homework) and quizzes at the end of the semester to help to improve your final grade.
Yes, He is a very hard teacher and my math 50 4 week intercession class was almost the death of me but i learned a lot because this prof makes you learn it. He actually cares. If you do the homework, study, don't talk in class and show up on time you will do fine. He really cares about his students and that they actually learn the material
Don't take this class
Homework assigned everyday and collected weekly. He's very good at teaching the class and caring for his students, but he's tough on grading tests. His tests are almost impossible to pass unless you read the book and you can remember 3 chapters by the time you're taking the test. (1 chapter 6 sections). You'll learn a lot in the class.
Tests are so hard and his teaching isn't very good. You need to memorize a lot of identities and formulas. Also assigns a lot of homework
Bob is easily the best math teacher I have ever had. He truly cares about his students and wants them to really learn the material. He is hilarious and his loud and energetic teaching style keeps you paying attention all class. I highly recommend taking him.
I took Bob for Math 56 last semester and he was the first A I ever got in a math class. He was helpful and actually made the class entertaining for everyone. For the people that are complaining that he gives too much homework are the students who dropped out halfway through the semester. If you work hard in and out of the class you will do fine.
great teacher. he can be hard if you are lazy but you get what you put in.
Professor Bob was hands down the best math teacher i have ever had at palomar. He really wants you to learn math and memorize the formulas because he wants you to succeed. Yes his class requires 8-10 hours of HW outside of class but i have never learned more. Call me crazy but id take him again,
hes a really good guy and he cares about the students but as a professor not so good. I couldn't get most of the material at first I thought it was just me but lots of other students had the same problem. tests were super hard needless to say I got a D I retook the class and the other teacher was awesome I understood everything perfect and got an A
Although I thought that Professor Bob was great in the way that he presented the material I do think that his tests were over the top in difficulty at points and he often put outlier problems that we maybe covered once or twice on the tests which made them all the more difficult. Studying and remembering A LOT of information is a must for his class
Probably one of the best teachers I've had so far. He gives a lot of chances to gain points. Do EVERY SINGLE problem on the homework. You turn the homework in on test day and if it's all done, he'll add 10 points to your test. His lectures are straight-forward. He teaches clever ways of remembering things and it really helps. Plus, he's VERY funny.
Professor Bob is amazing if you want to learn math, not just pass a class. He will dive deep into math and it is clear he wants you to understand. Lot's of homework and you MUST attend class. He's got a great sense of humor so that helps. His exams are challenging so you have to study. Thus, he is great if you want to LEARN.
So this was my first professor in this college and he is TOUGH but at the same time, he cares about the education system so much and that's what i love about him. He's funny too. For his class though, we had lots of homework and very difficult exams. Sadly, i failed his class. If you don't want to face stress, don't take him.
Good Professor. Really cares about his students. Hard class because he really wants you to be successful.
Great professor who cares about the students and helping them learn. Passionate about math and is a really nice guy. Gives lots of easy extra credit points on tests.
Awesome guy that really cares about his students. Makes tons of jokes, very loud voice, has kind of an accent, but if you truly want to learn the material, then you should take this professor.
I love Bob!!! He is a tough teacher, but he is ON POINT. He's really caring, and if you don't understand something, he will take the time to explain it. He came from a rough background, so he doesn't have much compassion for excuses.. basically -- do the work, show up to class on time, and you'll be fine.
professor bob is HILARIOUS. He comes off tough but he is a giant teddy bear. lol. not an easy A. it takes hard work but i learned so much in his class i am so proud of myself. I received an A on every test so IT IS POSSIBLE. Take his class seriously though or you WILL FAIL
Bob is the best professor I have had. If youre reading this thinking about taking his class understand that his class is intense. Dont let that scare you away. Most people take this class because they are planning on taking calculus.. Taking easy classes will only hurt you. He instilled discipline in me that has made me pass much harder classes
Professor Bob is an intense teacher and expects a lot from students. His 110 class is a prep for Calc. so don't think you can take & pass easily. A lot of homework and attendance is mandatory, if you skip more than 1 class you will be dropped. Carefully examine your choices before choosing this class.
This Professor doesn't have a heart. He expects you to put in 56 hours of studying to possibly pass his class. Who has that time when you are taking other classes? He gives tons of homework which isn't related to the test! Beware pick a different Professor. Save yourself from that unneeded stress.
Bob knows his math yes but that's where all of the good stops. He's pompous and arrogant. He assigns to much work to the point where ur not learning and so stressed u won't do well. He expects to much even in remedial classes. Way better options who teach u better but assigns a doable workload. Bob thinks his class is the only 1 that matters
Bob is a teacher that I would describe as the definition of tough, but fair. Seeing as this was my first math class in 5 years, I expected to do much worse. However, if you just talk to him one-on-one, take good notes, and do the homework, you'll find a teacher who really cares about his students succeeding and being prepared for calculus.
I've took Prof. Bob for 3 semesters, I'm currently in math 140 with him, and let me tell you, he's amazing. He took my fear away from math, and brought in appreciation. If you want to learn, take math with him. He's an amazing professor and he really wants you to learn. He gives a lot of homework and doesn't accept any excuses, but he is amazing!
If you want to fail DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! Math 56. He gives so much homework, he does not care if you have other classes, he really thinks his class is what only matters. His test are nothing like the examples he gives you. He does not give a study guide. Worst math professor i have ever had!
Just do your homework and study, he actually is a really good teacher and makes sense when teaching.
Highly recommend as your Math 56 professor. He takes the time to ensure that you fully understand the concepts and is always willing to answer questions or any confusion. DO NOT TAKE THE CLASS IF YOU ARE NOT READY TO COMMIT TO THE WORK. You work for the grade you earn. Do not miss class, do your homework, pass the class, get it over with. HA!
What to say about good ol' Bob? The class is by far the hardest class I've ever taken in my life. His tests are extremely difficult, often throwing curveballs on them to make sure you understand concepts to the bone. With that being said, he's a great professor with a great sense of humor and with captivating lectures. You will NEED TO STUDY HARD!
terrible teacher. He says that he cares about his students but on the first day of school, he told us that if we are late or miss 1 day of class, he is dropping us. He said that he skipped his brothers funeral for a college class he had when he was younger, and expects you to be the same. He said that no matter what it is, you cant email him.
as added to the one below (need more characters to finish). You cant use a TI-84 calculator or anything like that on HW or tests. He talks so fast you cant understand. You can not ask for help or its interupting. No asking classmates for help if you dont understand. Doesnt care if someone died, you better be in class or you are going to be dropped
Don't take his class his lectures are horrible and he makes no sense. You can only talk to him and sometimes he doesn't like to even answer your questions.
My friend suggests Professor Alidaee for me and I am really appreciate it. Although it is a difficult class, he explains clearly through examples. Ask questions if you dont understand but read the book first. Doing every single homework in the syllabus will reward you with a good grade.
Professor A is one of my favorite teachers. His class will give you whiplash, his tests will feel painful, and he will inspire you to do great. It is hard to get a good grade on any single test but if you show that you are hard working and complete all the hw and extra credit you will pass. Shut up, read the book, do the examples and pass the class
Math 140 was the second class I have had with Prof. A, and by far the hardest class I have ever taken. Do EVERY SINGLE homework problem, do ALL of the examples, and ask questions if you don't understand. It's a tough class, but if you want to learn the material and be well prepared for Calc 2, take his class. I am retaking it this semester for an A
Good professor tries to make math fun makes lots of jokes very caring
Ill be honest, I suck at math. Theres 3 Exams and a final, but the final is basically two tests in one. Pretty tough grader. Theres TONS of hw. Hw is due on test days. If youre constantly late or leave early he WILL mark you absent/drop you. He explains fairly well but I just need a slower paced class. If youre confident in math take him.
Your grade is based on 3 exams and a final. COMPLETED homework gives you a +5 pt boost. Grades critically and doesn't post anything useful within Canvas. Has quizzes that counts towards the final. Expects you to master 110 and 115. Textbook is written in a way math majors understand. Don't take unless if you're LEGENDARY in mathematics.
If you are a person that procrastinate dont take his clases, otherwise, he is good. pay close attention because he will hint the exam questions BY REPEATING OR TAPPING THE BOARD. lots of hw. As expected. Math is practice practice practice anyway.
He is a very encouraging teacher, who wants to help you understand. There is a lot of homework so if you aren't willing to put in the work for the grade then this class probably isn't for you. He really does care about you and your grade though which is very reassuring.
This was my first math class at palomar, and I really couldn't be more thankful that it was. He will make you work for your grade, but the study habits I formed from the class have helped tremendously. Made Calc2 a breeze.
Prof A! He was hands down one of the best proff i've had at palomar! Yes, he may seem rude. Suck it up buttercup, it's called tuff love. He can really turn a boring class and make it fun! He does not give out study guides and the test are pretty tuff, he literally gives you what's going to be on the test. Do your hw, show up to class, he cares.
Professor A is a very caring teacher. He tells you what to expect in the class. He doesn't give you study guides, but he does a few lectures before the exams telling you exactly what the exam will be like. If you show effort and work hard you will pass the class.
He's a polite and very well educated man. Beware! He's full of information and knowledge but assigns mountains upon mountains of homework. My class is Intermediate/advanced algebra and he assigns work like trigenometry. Makes you do every step and check everything with steps. Loong lectures. Easy to understand but the 150 questions a weekend? No ty
He is truly an amazing person, and teacher but really isn't good at explaining things that math 15-50 explains. He is one of the hardest working people I know and I am very happy to have taken his class, but it's very hard and I don't recommend taking w/ a heavy load of classes. GOOD LUCK!
Professor A is by far my favorite professor I have currently. I've noticed a lot of people drop his class but as long as you always PAY ATTENTION and attend class, you'll be fine. Always ask questions if you're confused! Professor A cares a lot about his students and it shows. He does give a lot of homework, but it's manageable.
Professor A is by far the most caring and respected professors at Palomar College. He really does care about his students. His lectures can be heavy but he does stop to help and gives extra credit. He gives a lot of homework but only because he wants to you to practice and get it. I really do recommend him.
He is one of my favorite professors I've taken at Palomar. He cares so much about his students and wants the best for all of them. He is willing to help you and go over the material. Doing all the homework will help you pass his test, plus he goes over any questions you have about the homework. If you get the chance to take him, do it !!
do not take him. he assigns wayyy to much homework and his tests are insanely hard and have nothing to do with what he teaches. he expects everyone to be in class everyday and if you miss then hes dropping you. we started the class with 40 people and are down to about 18. he has a very heavy accent that is hard to understand and teaches too fast.
He is by far one of the best math teachers I've ever had. He is super smart and genuinely cares about his students. He wants everyone in his class to succeed and he goes through the problems step by step and makes sure you understand them. He gives a lot of extra credit which pretty much bumps you up a letter grade. Not to mention he is funny too.
Best math teacher I've ever had. Keeps the atmosphere light in the classroom with lots of jokes and participation, explains concepts very clearly and cares about student understanding. Lots of homework but he gives you full credit as long as you do it at all and likes to round grades up on tests.
He is hilarious. Amazing prof, and the hardest thing you will sit through. He teaches trig, and calc in his algebra class on occasion so you can grasp concepts for later that may relate to each other. Explains why the math is relevant for work unlike most profs which is nice. 8 pages or more a night in work front and back. Yikes! Short 10Q tests.
This professor is definitely hard if you do not put in effort to do the work. He is very inspirational and funny over the zoom which is mandatory to attend and you must show your face. I was failing his class the whole semester the class average was an F but he added extra points to the homework assignments and exams which raised my grade to a B!
I enjoyed his class. He cares about his students and their success. His stories and jokes are quite funny and at times he may a bit serious. Engagement and participation is key. All he asks is to show up, try your best and SHOW YOUR WORK.
Extremely helpful.
He clearly cares deeply about his students and their success. He lays out exactly what to expect at the start of the semester and follows his plan pretty faithfully. As long as you attend lectures and do all the homework there is basically no way to fail. He will also give extra points if you do all your homework and attend every day.
Mr. A assigns an absurd amount of homework that accounts for so little credit. Tests are 50% of your grade. As a teacher, he's actually quite helpful and will answer any questions you have, but he unnecessarily downgrades the difficulty of this course and makes you feel stupid sometimes. He was funny though? I guess...
There are a few things in the grade book, 3 exams and a final that's worth two exams put together. He tells you what to study for. HW is a lot, but you get what you put in. Professor is inspirational, funny & wants to see you succeed; respect him, and he will do the same. He's made me a better student. I would've felt the same way if I had failed.
Professor A is a truly caring person and he really does try his best so that the material is easily digested. As I did take a summer course, the pace was a little bit faster, but the light mood of the class helped a lot. Although the grading is heavy, Prof does his best to help, such as going over exams before them and telling you what to study.
I had him for calc 1 and he was very good at getting the material across. He always want his students to succeed and with the class being fast paced, he would still answer any of our concerns that we had. His tests are straight up the class problems and hw. If you miss one day, you won't do good in the class and even recommends dropping the course.
His notes sucks, he only does the problems on the homework and hardly anything to help his students memorize and prepare for the test. He kept saying he cares for his students, but he says go to math center all the time if we needed help as if he gives up on his. He doesn't really offer office hours. Overall dont get fooled by the reviews
Professor A is absolutely a great teacher and made taking math class enjoyable. He does assign a ton of homework though, but you'll need it for later anyways so do your best. Very funny in lectures, cool guy who cares about his students. He is tough though, and doesn't cut corners in grading tests and homework. "Calculus is easy, algebra is hard."
Professor A is an amazing and passionate teacher. If you respect him, do the homework, and show you really care about the class, you will do fine. He really cares about the class as long as there aren't any annoying people. His lecture are really helpful just take note of everything he writes, it will be on the test. He is always willing to help.
Bob talks down to us every day and expects us to memorize everything even though he is usually corrected by the students a few times per class. There is a lot of homework and he only provides, "math center," as a resource or guidance. Do not take this class if you have a hard time with math, he will make it more confusing.
DO NOT TAKE! He is the worst professor you could have. He talks down to his class everyday and always say to go to the math center. I have put in 40 hours+ of tutoring time at the math center and have still not been able to pass his exams. We started with 45 people in class and now have 10. He takes pride in people failing his course.
Where do I start, His Tests are nothing like the Hw or review sessions, Hw takes 10 hours a week, Messy handwriting, He times his tests even though we have nothing planned after so the timed tests don't really make sense, No curves, no bumps, no generous grading, first class ever that has lowered my mental health, 3/4 of the class has dropped.
Professor Bob is a great teacher. I would recommend his 6 unit class as it is a much slower pace. There is a lot of homework so be prepared which is worth 11 points and the exams are worth 89 points. He does do some extra credit so make sure to show up to every lecture. He is funny when he lectures and also cares for his students.
You're only allowed to miss 3 days of class if you miss 3 he'll drop you due to how is grading is set up. HW everyday for 2-3 chapters. Take notes, write everything dow, ask questions. HW is necessary for you to pass same with showing up everyday as he'll add 25 points at the end if you turn in all your HW and don't miss a day.
Prof A really cares about his students and wants his students to do well. If you don't do your HW you are not going to pass the class. Yes, there is a lot of HW but it is worth it when it is time for an exam. I recommend taking the 6-unit class as he goes a bit slower. Take good notes. This class was really fun.
The professor is a really great guy but skips a lot of steps on the math and grades harshly. Tests are nothing like his reviews
Pros: He's good at teaching, caring, funny, and he sometimes gives bumps if the class average is bad. However, most learning is self-taught. Cons: 4 exams are worth 89% of your grade, 11% is homework. Submitting exams can take up time for tests. As someone who normally gets As in math, consider a B to be a huge accomplishment.
Professor A is a tough grader, but engaging and wants you to succeed. The workload is heavy, but using resources like the free textbook, unstuckstudy ai, and study sessions can really help. Overall, a challenging yet rewarding class.
His tests are twice as difficult as other teachers. He will expect you to memorize equations but doesn't know them himself. Expect him to make errors on 50% of the board problems including the equations he expects you to memorize. He will yell at the class in order to gain participation. You will be teaching yourself. Useless. Please retire.
Mr. Alidaee is very straighforward with what he expects from his students. His class is doable if you truly dedicate time to finishing your hw & studying when you can. Hw will become your best friend because most of the time, the exam questions are similar or literally the same as some hw questions. The grade does consist of just the 4 exams btw.
Will go through problems similar to hw/tests & provides credit for perfect attendance & hw. Has office hours, but strongly advises to go to the Math Center for questions instead. Best time to ask questions is directly after class. NOT tech savvy & will not enter grades in Canvas. Yells suddenly & gives very minimal time to work on class problems.
Tests were based off lecture and hw so it was easy to study for. His teaching style can be a little confusing and he was prone to make mistakes. Not a bad Calc 2 professor to take but it will be hard and require a lot of self teaching and studying. Participating in the class will help.
