Bob is an ineffective teacher. He rambles about his "objectives" and "missions" every class, but never lectures, just goes over 2 or 3 homework problems every class. His tests are so hard, because he likes to force grades into the bell curve. If you want to be a CPA, study tax on your own.
I didn't get to take a class with Prof.Duquette. I sought his help for a Business writing section i had to do for an interview. He was extremely helpful and spent a lot of time giving tips and techniques. I'm sure it would help me in drafting official memos in my career and not just from an interview perspective. Thanks much Professor!
Professor Bob is in his first year of teaching and it shows. He spends the first hour of class discussing "administrative" items and barely has time to cover topics. The responsibilities for the class change so frequently you can't do any work until right before it's due. However, it is apparent that he really does care about the students' success.
He's a good teacher!
He's a very helpful and enthusiastic teacher. He recently met with students for 8 hours per day, twice in one week, just to help them get understand the material for the final project! The final paper was challenging, but i'm leaving this class confident that i can work as a tax accountant and do well!
Professor Duquette has over 30 years of experience in the tax world. He was a tax partner at Ernst & Young. If you want to capture such knowledge, take his class! You'll learn from one of the best in the field; how much better can a class get!
Great teacher. Although the material isn't the easiest, he tries really hard to help students learn and do as well as possible. He wants students to get a lot out of class but is also understanding of students' needs and busy schedules. Offers bonuses to help. If you want to learn and have an enjoyable class experience, take his class.
Actually cares about helping students really understand the material, really good guy overall, it's not because of him that the class is hard, tax is hard, he tries to make it as bearable as possible. Very flexible, understanding, and accommodating to students.
Professor Bob is not as bad as everyone says he is... he had a slow start to the semester, but the reality is that he is a good teacher and gives fair test and TELLS YOU PRACTICALLY everything that will be on the test... the best part is that he will do whatever it takes to help you out, some weeks he has 16 hours worth of office hours!!
Very genuine professor who care very much about his students and wants them to succeed. He individually went through the books chapters and cut out the fluff that was useless. Very fair tests, that test knowledge and applications. If you have any questions he will always be available an
Incredible professor, one of the best at Lehigh. Makes tax an entertaining and interesting course despite the perceived dry subject matter. If you put in the time he will as well. Also, very easy going and approachable if you need to talk about anything.
One of the best professors at Lehigh! Prof. Duquette is extremely nice to his students. He can spends hours talking with students and helping them out with questions about the material. Tax is unarguably a complex matter, but one can do well by studying hard and paying attention to his lectures. Coming to class is important to do well in this cours
I walked away from this course understanding much more about the U.S. taxation system (and feel better prepared for the CPA exam because of it). Prof. Duquette's assignments really helped drive the material home, and he was always available to answer any of my questions, whether through e-mail, text message, etc. Overall, a great class!
Professor Duquette provides a wealth of knowledge and experience from his career in public accounting. He really cares about his students and goes out of his way to help them understand the material. After taking the Regulation section of the CPA Exam, I am very glad I had him as a professor at Lehigh.
I just began the MBA program at Lehigh and I could not have asked for a better teacher to begin the program. Professor Duquette always responded to my questions immediately and he wanted to make sure that I thoroughly understood the material. He truly wants you to learn the material, and he cares about his students. He is very fair in his grading.
One of the best professors that I had during my 4 years at Lehigh. The tax material can be very complex and overwhelming but Duquette makes sure that he is clear and available to help you. He has a lot of office hours, responds quickly to emails, and is overall very reachable. He is a fair grader and cares very much about his students.
By far one of the BEST professors that I had at Lehigh. He is very fair and always willing to talk to students. The course is very demanding but if you put the time in you will do well. It is definitely designed to help you pass the Regulation section of the CPA exam so save your notes and his slides!
This course can help you both academically and in real-world. It contains a majority part of the Regulation CPA exam; it also lays a firm foundation for you to succeed in public accounting firms and corporations. Professor Duquette is a great teacher. I recommend his class to everyone.
Professor Duquette is very considerate and helpful to students. His class is fun and you can learn a lot from his clear explanations.
I heard from all of the upperclassmen that Tax was the hardest course in the Acct major. I can say having completed the final, Tax really wasn't that bad. Professor Duquette is SO helpful and will even take time out of his schedule to speak on the phone with you to explain a concept. He is great and made tax completely bearable! Take Tax. :)
Best teacher i've had in 4 semesters. Adjuncts are the best they don't bore you with textbook info but rather tell you how it's done in the field. He was a junior partner at E&Y so he knows what he is doing. Extremely communicative with students and wants us to do well. Sacrifices much of his time for extra help and he is clear and teaches well
Great dude. Extremely helpful and really wants you to do well. The guy can talk forever and usually keeps you past when the class technically ends but I still highly recommend him as a professor.
Genuinely one of the most interesting and real-world-useful classes I've taken. Especially the module about the current budget deficit.
An awesome professor. He did an amazing job of relating the tax codes to what was happening in the genuine world and used his own real-world knowledge to provide examples that were not only interesting, but actually helpful to understanding the material. I would recommend this course to anyone, not just acctg majors.
Great professor and he really would go out of his way to help you understand the material. The lectures were useful but you could probably get away with skipping if you're good at learning from the book. He does provide great examples in class though and will help clarify the material
He's a great professor. I took him during the summer, which may mean it was a little easier, but either way he knows his stuff and is willing to help.
Prof. Duquette really knows his stuff and makes what typically is a dry course pretty interesting. Classes are engaging and worth attending. He will go out of his way to help you succeed in this challenging course if you seek the help. This is a hard course regardless of the professor but Duquette does his best to help you through it.
Really helpful, cares about students and is passionate about teaching. Learned a great deal from his course.
Does the best job he can given the guidelines he is required to work under. Truly wants his students to learn and is extremely enthusiastic about teaching! Took him two semesters in a row because he is awesome and I found this course particularly interesting. He applies his real world knowledge to what is happening today. Awesome professor!
Prof. Duquette does a great job of illustrating the complexity of the tax-code and the implications of different tax-planning strategies. You can actually see his eyes light up with excitement when students ask questions. Take every opportunity to speak with him one-on-one. He is a very insightful person and will go out of his way to help you.
Fantastic Class! Although the material can be dense at times, Professor Duquette does a great job keeping students engaged during class discussions. The class provides you with an in-depth look at multiple areas of taxation (global tax planning, current proposals, etc.) that will make you relevant in conversations with business professionals.
He is very enthusiastic about teaching and really cares about his students! I've had him for two acct courses and he manages to make accounting interesting! He applies his real world knowledge to what is happening today while covering the topics in our syllabus. He is an awesome professor!
He is a fantastic professor. He is extremely enthusiastic about tax, which makes it very enjoyable to sit in class. Although the subject matter is extremely complex, Duquette does his best to explain it in a way that students can understand. He goes above and beyond to help his students, and is extremely flexible.
Professor Duquette is extremely flexible. He understands that the ACCT 398 material is very complex. So, he finds real-world applications that make understanding the material easier/more manageable. I learned about various subject matters that will be relevant to my life after college. Great professor and even better person.
Professor Duquette is a great teacher and mentor. Tax is not an easy topic to learn; however, Professor Duquette's enthusiasm makes the class much more enjoyable. In addition to taking his 307 class, I took the 398 elective. I found 398 to be much more interesting and learned a great deal about global tax planning and multinational corps.
Professor Duquette is a fantastic teacher and a valuable resource for any student. Although his 307 class is a hard subject, he breaks it down making it easier for the students to comprehend. His 398 class on the Federal Deficit, Global Tax Planing, and other complex tax issues is the best ACCT elective to take. A very knowledgeable guy. Recommend!
Professor Duquette is so enthusiastic and passionate about the topic in tax that it made me passionate about tax. His extensive background in the subject made the class practical. Although the course is tough by nature, Professor Duquette made sure each student understood everything. Must take!
Professor Duquette is so enthusiastic and passionate about the topic in tax that it made me passionate about tax. His extensive background in the subject made the class practical. Although the course is tough by nature, Professor Duquette made sure each student understood everything. Must take this!
He is both knowledgeable and extremely passionate. He has real world experience and turns dry accounting topics into pretty interesting stuff. He goes above and beyond to help his students. I highly recommend if you are interested in a deeper understanding of tax, global implications and how they affect you as a student and citizen of ‘merica.
He is one of my favorite professors at Lehigh University. His federal tax lecture Acct 307 provides me with a very detailed anatomy of U.S. tax system. Since his lecture covers a great length in individual as well as corporation tax rules, it has saved me great time and was a great help for my CPA exam Regulation part.
The best professor I've ever taken. He always tries to make the lectures interesting. I strongly recommend anyone to take his class.
Professor Bob has taken a typically bland subject and added a level of clarity and fun. He is easy to follow and explains concepts in a manner which make them easy to understand. He leverages homework assignments to support classwork and ensures concepts are understood by all. He will spend the time reviewing challenging areas to ensure success.
Professor Duquette takes a fairly dry subject and makes it fun and easy to understand. I would recommend this teacher to anyone who wants to learn about accounting.
Professor Bob is an awesome Professor! He made GBUS 401 interesting and dynamic by sharing his professional experiences with the class. The homework he assigned was extremely helpful in preparing for the exams. He was always there to answer any questions and was very encouraging. I would definitely recommend his class! Professor Bob rocks!
Professor Duquette is one of my most favorite professors in Lehigh. Extremely intelligent and have a very through and deep understanding about accounting, and really respect and care about students. ACCT 309 is a very insightful class that combines his real world experience with current tax issue, awesome class for accounting students.
Great guy. Very passionate about students learning. Gives practice tests before each test and almost every test is very similar.
Excellent professor, can't say enough good things. Takes difficult concepts and applies real life examples to make them easier to understand. Lectures are engaging and really reinforce the learning. He goes on tangents that are both humorous but also informative and tie into the learning. Very enthusiastic teaching style, bravo!
Professor Bob was very good at making accounting seem interesting, which is not an easy feat. He was also very accessible and helpful in answering questions and comments outside of class hours, both by email and on our class discussion forums. The class was very homework and test based, but not overly difficult.
Very good professor. His enthusiasm for the material and course are infectious. I took the course remotely and his high level of communication and accessibility made this far less challenging. Grading is fair. You will need to do the work, but his expectations and grading are clearly explained, no "when will we get/what are our grades?"
Professor Duquette is extremely funny and engaging, cares genuinely about his students and there for you no matter what. His experience speaks for itself, and his knowledge is indisputable. He is very understanding when it comes to group projects and exams, and genuinely wants you to do well and will do EVERYTHING in his power to ensure that you do
The professor is amazing, he simplified the content
By far the best professor I've ever got. He makes accounting fun rather than boring. Gives lot of real life examples and shares interesting stories that makes the subject easy to understand and motivates to participate in the class discussion.
I will sincerely miss this professor! He was one of the best professors at Kutztown University and is missed by all his students. He not only taught well and gave real life examples but he also respected each and every one of us. This man has true accounting experience that most professors don't. He speaks from experience!
Don't take him as your first accounting professor ever. He seems very knowledgeable and teachers more advanced classes, but I had a really hard time learning. First test is easy, second and final are so hard.
Duquette will remain one of my favorite professors at Lehigh. Reason being is his ability to turn nearly any seemingly mundane topic into something not only of great interest, but also applicable to the real world. I'm working in a big 4 and the concepts and mindset he taught us to think by actually help more than I realized. Grea class, WORTH IT.
By no means am I naturally good at accounting. I struggled heavily through 151. I got an A- in Duquette's class though and not because it was easy. He is one of the best professors I've ever had. One of the few classes that I can actually say I learned on a deeper level, not just temporarily memorized processes to pass the tests. I highly recommend
So caring! He really wants you to succeed. Always available for help. He even extends his office hours and skips lunch to listen to you. Very knowledgeable and experienced in the subject.
Professor Duquette really is the only way to go for managerial accounting. A really fantastic teacher and a really inspirational man, he finds a way to make accounting very relevant and interesting. He's very application-focused, and he works on homework examples in class, which is a big reason to attend lectures. I can't say enough about him.
Prof. Duquette is a great professor.
I wanted to pick more of the tags to describe Prof. Bob. Knows the material cold & practical uses of it. Challenges students to see the practical take aways. Listens to students concerns & addresses them. Made accounting come alive - from a subject I thought I'd hate (accounting) he made it interesting and was one of the best profs. I've had.
This was my first accounting class. Prof. Bob definitely made the course interesting and was one of the best profs I have had - he knows the material and wants us to see the practical take aways. He is also a very caring person.
Professor Duquette is honestly the best professor that I've had at Lehigh. Amazing instructor who not only clearly explains the material, but also demonstrates practical applications of it. He's really respected and is a fantastic lecturer, and it's always fun to hear him roast the textbook author. He does homework problems in class, so show up!
First half of every lecture is awful; when he actually starts to teach the material he is pretty good at explaining but everyone is asleep by then. Kind of odd, but great guy otherwise. He is very quick to respond to emails and truly cares about his students. He knows his stuff. 2nd test is brutal; final isn't a walk in the park either.
Excellent professor. Knows his stuff. Rewarding course. Always available for meetings.
Lecture based class that is focused on using examples to describe the more complicated topics of the textbook. Reading the textbook before class makes it easier to understand the lectures. Professor fills in the blanks of acct so make sure you read. Professor cares about his students and wants them to learn, but grading criteria is strict.
Prof. Duquette is very kind and diligent. He has very detailed and abundant class materials. His class is inspiring, exams are hard, but you could learn a lot if you do your best. He will answer your questions timely and create a forum for students to share their opinions, which is helpful. I enjoyed this challenging but valuable course.
Great energy! Everyday! IDK what he was on but he really loves to teach his class! Great at explaining concepts to those who are confused and spends most of the time in class making sure you can actually do what he's teaching. Brings his experiences to the table when in class and how his class can benefit you in the future!
Decent professor that gives fair exams.
The course is fairly easy--- lectures are kinda boring but Duquette is a great choice for this class.
Professor Duquette is one of the best professors at Lehigh. As a Master of Management student, I didn't study any accounting courses before. However, with his lecture and help, accounting 444 becomes a fun class to learn. Also, he can give you a lot of great advice based on his past 35 years experience at E&Y.
Accounting 442 is one of the most rigorous courses in the M2 program. Financial reporting is dry and a bit tedious, but Professor Duquette makes this course fun and useful. He is very good at explaining tough concepts with interesting examples. Exams are long and a bit hard, but you can receive the best curve points from Professor Duquette.
Professor Duquette is one of the Accounting depts best assets. He comes from a background as a former big 4 partner and genuinely cares about seeing his students succeed. Exams are fair as long as you go to class and do the homeworks 1-2 times as preparation. Very thorough in explanations. Highly recommend for 151 and 152
Professor Bob is the man. Really cares about his students and understands that not everyone wants to go into Accounting. Makes the 151 and 152 relatable to all business majors. Tests are fair and generous partial credit is given. Highly recommend taking 151 and 152 with Professor.
Solid Professor for 151.
The class material is extremely difficult as they have to fit everything in for the tax section in the CPA. However, professor Duquette was always willing to help students out. He was extremely helpful in office hours and was always available to answer questions via email and sometimes even over the phone. He did everything he could to help.
Prof. Duquette has a unique outlook on the tax accounting world. His industry Experience at EY plays a heavy role in the classroom and his up to date global acumen allows you to learn about current world events and apply the concepts of tax accounting to them. I enjoyed 307 so much I decided to take 309 which was a bit easier and very interesting.
Professor Duquette has a lot of Industry experience that really helps you bring Tax concepts to life. He is very open to helping students. Although the course name is Advanced Federal Taxation, it is actually different from 307 because of how the class is structured. It is actually a very useful course for all accounting majors. TAKE HIS CLASS!
Prof Duquette is extremely passionate about his field of practice and that certainty shows during his lectures. He assigns a lot of homework, however this is only done to benefit the student. None of the classes he teaches are easy A's so be ready to read a lot of the textbook outside of class and work hard to perform well on his exams.
Prof Duquette is the best professor I have ever taken! He covers a lot of material, yet still explains it very well. He responds to emails quickly and is always available for office hours. His classes are not easy, so be prepared for a lot of work. He is more than a Prof, he is a role model, and I encourage everyone to take him if given the chance.
Nicest guy ever. He loves Accounting. Took him remotely- his exam material is not too bad but he doesn't give you nearly enough time to finish and look things over. That said, I've always ended up with bad grades despite my hours of studying. Avoid if possible, his curves are like nonexistent and he assigns way too much work.
This guy is hilarious and adorable. The material is difficult and there's a lot of homework, but he usually would walk us through the homework so we'd have half of it done before the due date. His tests are difficult, but not impossible. He gives partial credit where he can and is willing to adjust the grade if you can present a valid reason to.
Professor Bob is a wizard with tax accounting. Given the material is so difficult, what I found most helpful in doing well on the exams and ultimately the class was reading the textbook throughout the semester and outlining each chapter by hand. Do problems from the textbook and homeworks to prepare for exams.
Professor Duquette was absolutely amazing, I loved having him as a professor. After taking ACCT 151 I didnt think I would enjoy this class, but he made it engaging and enjoyable to learn!
It's refreshing to have a professor who truly cares about the success of his students! If you keep up with the homework and thoroughly read the textbook, you'll do well. Take advantage of office hours, as talking through challenging concepts will pay off on exams, and Professor Duquette will patiently work with you to elucidate difficult material.
Granted I barely passed this class, one of the best professors I've ever had. Learned so much in this class. One of those classes you look back on and think wow I really learned a lot. Class is hard and can be overwhelming at times, but he makes it enjoyable given it's a tough accounting course. Knowledgable about the subject can answer anything.
Professor Duquette goes above and beyond what's included in the textbooks. He often brings his industry knowledge into his classroom teachings. Moreover, he is many students' favorite professor in Lehigh's graduate program.
I didn't do very well in the class but I think that is just the course and not the professor considering he said our section was usually the best scoring out of all the 152 sections. Duquette is pretty nice but I think the tests the pretty difficult. I don't think they're anything like the homework or class examples. Overall, he is good for ACCT152
Professor Duquette is a good Professor and a great guy. He really cares about the class and his students well being. I found that reading through the book slowly and carefully made things a lot easier for me. That way I had already seen all of the information before class time and classes were more of a review. If you dont read you will struggle
Professor Bob is the goat. He always took his time explaining stuff and always provided really clear examples of problems. He was also very considerate of our workload and always worked with us to get through the material.
Prof Duquette was outstanding -- probably one of the best accounting professors at Lehigh. Homework was typically twice a week and doesn't take too long. Definitely need to study a lot for the exams though, as they can be pretty difficult. Overall though this is a somewhat tough course no matter who you take it with, but he teaches it best.
I took Professor Bob for 316, and he made time outside of class to help me. I took him for 307, and it lives up as a hard accounting class, but Professor Bob prepares you so well for the course and the CPA exam. His teaching style is clear, and he wants everyone to learn and succeed. He is dedicated to his students and always available for help.
This is beyond the technical understanding of tax as subject matter. This is a class that embodies philosophy, economics, and even sociology, but obviously conveyed under the context of tax. Focus on learning professor duquettes tone, voice, thinking, and speech. You won't regret it! Tax code change, but the intellectual keeps his ingenuity!
Professor. Duquette is a genuinely kind person that seeks to pass on wisdom to his students. I have known him from both Acct307 and 309. He care about his student deeply and wants them to succeed in their future career. This class prepare student for the work place because Prof. Duquette will provide real world advise in each class. Love it!
I think Prof Duquette used to be a solid professor. He cares a lot and is a very nice man. But he's pretty old, and he has a tough time relating to students. Taking him online-- lectures are almost useless. Tests are hard, but the textbook is helpful.
Professor Duquette clearly cares about his students and does a great job of relating the material to the outside world. His exams are difficult especially time-wise.
Acct442 and 444. He is a great professor that is really passionate about accounting and ensuring students learn. Try to stay up on the reading and do the post class homework at the same time as the pre class homework. Before exams, review all the homework until you can get 100s without checking notes. Be sure to review the poll questions too.
Professor Duquette is super knowledgeable about tax regulations and tax accounting. He also cares a lot about his students and makes you work for your grade. He is definitely one of the best Professors at Lehigh hands down. Definitely make sure to pay attention in class
I had acct442 and acct444 with Professor Duquette. I had a great learning experience with Professor Duquette because he is passionate with teachings, responsible and caring students for any help we need. I love the critical thinking parts on class, which inspired me to see the real world. It's helpful to have pre-class and post-class assignments.
Professor Duquette cares about students. He has many office hours to help us. Poll questions helped me to pay attention to class. Do readings and assignments! Pre-class assignments were short and helpful to prepare with coming classes. Reviewing and practicing assignments before exams. We also had review sessions with Professor before exams.
This course is tough and there's no way around it. Professor Bob is awesome and tries to get you through it but it requires significant work out of class. My best advice to do well is to start studying early (minimum week in advance), read the textbook and slides, and redo as many homework problems as you can. Course usually gets curved at the end.
Would really recommend! Majority of lectures are drawn from his real-life experience; Prof. highlights what's useful down the line and keeps lectures very engaging. If you actually pay attention and do the hw you'll get A-range. There is a good bit of Connect hw every week (~1-2hrs total per week) but I like having less my grade depend on exams.
He is a great mentor what you learn in this class goes beyond just tax ( and don't worry honestly this class is cake compared to 307 AND more interesting). There is a fun project/case at the end of the semester that as long as you put the work in, you learn a lot and its graded on participation!
Duquette is arguably my favorite professor I've had at Lehigh. 307 is only hard because the course is required to be that way. However, if you put in the work it is more than worth it. 309 is a joke compared to 307 but the two together + Duquette's teaching style is a perfect combination to prepare you for the class and REG. Wish I could say more
Just a phenomenal professor. Even if you never once read the textbook, by just being present in class will give you enough understanding to excel in class. Suggestions for exams: redo the homeworks online!
Professor Duquette is one of the best professors I've had.If you pay attention in class, you really won't need to study too hard for the exams. He tried his best to make the lectures engaging and interesting. I was shocked by how much I loved this professor and literally do Not take anyone else for acct 152
Take this class, especially if you took 307 and want to save time studying for REG down the line! Really interesting material, much, much easier than 307, Duquette is the greatest, you learn more about his on-the-job stories and how truly corrupt the big four/corporate America are
Great professor! Super sweet and takes the time to explain things well. Textbook reading is not necessarily because the class slides are very detailed, and it is easy to succeed if you pay attention and redo homeworks and connect problems to prepare for exams.
AVOID AT ALL COST. HE IS SUPER HARD! LOTS OF HOMEWORK!
Very hard. Confusing. Boring.
Professor Duquette is easily one of the best professors I have ever taken a class with. He explains subjects in an easily digestible and understandable way. The two reviews below me are fake; they were posted the same day and have similar grammar. They probably just want fewer people taking his class so they can get in. How deplorable! he the dawg
He's a dawg
I cannot speak highly enough about Professor Duquette. His passion for the course material is evidenced in every lecture and anecdote he shares from his 'real world experience'. I have never felt more engaged learning such complex and difficult material. Professor Duquette is a prime example of what it means to be a spectacular professor.
The course is challenging and requires significant work outside of his lectures. He is a fantastic professor who cares about his students. Start early, read the textbook and slides, and redo homework problems. It doesn't go well if you fall behind so make sure to stay at least 1 week ahead of the chapter discussed in class.
Professor Bob is one of the most respected accounting teachers at Lehigh. He gives real world examples and makes tax interesting to make you remember the content. Tax is a difficult class, so you have to read his slides and go to office hours to be successful. Always available and really cares about his students.
Prof Bob is awesome. So knowledgeable about tax/accounting, and I loved learning about his real-world experiences. The class itself was probably the hardest class I've taken, so try to schedule it for a lighter semester if you can. Be prepared to spend lots of hours reading lecture notes and slides to keep up with the material.
Great guy and has very clear slides but can be a bit bland sometimes Provides lots of review material and quizzes. Drops lowest 20% of connect hws (usually 6 homeworks a week)
Professor Bob cares. It's a hard class because of the sheer amount of content, but Professor Bob will give you the tools to success-- his office hours are especially helpful. He's super understanding that students have a life and other responsibilities outside of class. Follow the textbook examples and prepare content ahead of lecture.
Bobby Dukes. American legend.
Honestly an awesome professor! Makes so much sense why he has a high rating. Its very lecture heavy, as expected for an accounting class, and he does polls in almost every class as a way to take attendance, the homework is also all on connect as well as the exams. If you need to take an accounting course register for his class!
I truly believe that every Lehigh business school student should take ACCT 397 with Professor Duquette. He is an extraordinary professor and mentor, and this class prepares each student for the real world implications of taxation as it pertains to anyone entering a meeting room. He works tirelessly to make sure that everyone finds success!
Make sure to attend lectures since he does a phenomenal job teaching the material and expanding on the textbook. Lots of information in the course but Professor will ensure that you have every resource in and out of class to help. Be present and ask him plenty of questions! He never strays away from giving the most accurate and informed responses.
Prof Duquette does a great job explaining course material. He is willing to help students and answer questions and is accessible outside of the classroom. You will only do well if you attend lectures, pay attention, and do the HWs. If you put effort into the class, you will succeed. I highly recommend taking Acct 152 with Prof Duquette.
Tough but engaging class. Professor explains concepts clearly. Lots of homework, but dropping the lowest 20% helps. Found unstuckstudy and ChatGPT really useful for studying.
During both my undergraduate and graduate time at Lehigh, I have never experienced a more dedicated professor. Professor Duquette teaches very difficult courses but provided us countless resources, was always ready to help and truly went above and beyond. He is extremely knowledgeable and gives students every tool to succeed.
My favorite professor. He has a deep understanding of the subject and is incredibly thorough in ensuring the quality of the course. He genuinely cares about his students and is always exploring new tools to enhance learning experience. He is highly responsible, passionate about teaching, and it truly shows. Don't miss the chance to take his class!
Professor Duquette has been one of the best professors I have had at Lehigh. He is a fantastic mentor and is always willing to help with matters in and outside the classroom. With respect to this class, it is a little challenging, but redoing the connect assignments as well as the optional algo assignments in connect can help you do well in 152
Clear and structured teacher who makes the material approachable. His slides are organized, reviews align with the exams, and he takes time to make sure the class is following. To do well stay consistent with the slides and use Connect to test yourself. Accounting can't be crammed. If you put in real effort you'll walk away with more than a grade.
This class was tough, but Professor Duquette showed how his students are part of his team. He teaches to help us learn, not to trip us or give us a hard time on purpose. There are 3 exams, including the final exam, with medium to hard connect assignments each week. Make sure you take notes on slides, understand the HW questions, and you'll do well.
Although a difficult course, Professor Duquette takes great interest in each student's success, but you must put in the effort! There are 3 exams, so prioritize reviewing slides (memorize key rules!), redoing homework, and referencing the textbook where necessary. Understand the concepts (pay attention in class), and you will do well!
Professor Duquette is such a nice guy and he really knows his stuff and cares about his students. He spends too much time talking about how hard the class is, how little time he has, and specific tax cases he's come across in his career, but his enthusiasm makes the content interesting. Budget a LOT of time homework and studying for exams!!
