Dont try to get point added, you get what you get
Best teacher in group of 300 teachers, fair man that assigns no homework
He's a great teacher
Whitty professor. Good Teacher. Best of the 300 profs
funny professor-makes the class interesting or at least tries to. group presentation is really easy. he's the best!
A really nice guy that tries to make management class as interesting as possible. The tests can be difficult if you don't read the book. The group project (I'm not talking about the business plan) is very simple and everyone gets full credit on it.
great teacher, one of the nicests and entertaining. brilliant man (whats he doing here). read text well to do well on tests. one of the better cob teachers ive had. hes also very approachable and helpful.
Straight-forward and easy grader
One of the most brilliant people I have ever met. This translates to his teaching. He has a witty sense of humor and tells things how they are. Study book objectives and notes, and you will do well.
Great prof. Easy tests, no attendance policy, almost no assignments, and very helpful with the business plan.
Decent class, no attendance policy, good teacher
Excellent with class lessons and life lessons. Fair tests, and really taught me the most out of all my COB300 teachers.
The tests are pretty easy, except the final was the hardest of the 3. No attendance policy at all. Tells a lot of stories, really sarcastic...some people loved him, I felt otherwise. But not a bad class.
hotness!!!
Willing to work with you, very understanding, let me take final early to attend internship
Interesting Lectures. Intelligent. Helpful. What an educator should be.
Great teacher. Understanding and very insightful when it comes to teaching. Passionate about his job and willing to help on Business plan. No attendance policies, tests had no surprises.
Great professor! Very clear and helpful. Lectures were usually fun and interesting. Tests were fair and often humorous.
One of the finest professors I've had at JMU. Fair, willing to meet with you any time, and he kept the classes interesting while teaching management. Go to class and learn non-management stuff you can actually use in real life.
Not too bad, pretty specific. Funny. Lectures with worksheets, so just print those out and take notes and it's not bad.
He is a great guy, but tests are too hard for a management class
One of the best professors I have had at JMU. Teaches what you need to know to pass. Makes it interesting. So friendly, and really wants to help, not only in class but with everything after 300...he's a professor I would go back and ask for advice. You are lucky if you get him
Really great teacher, make sure you go to class and take notes, not an easy A but if you put the work in you can do it! Teaches useful life lessons, take him if you want to be stimulated
Funny guy but pretty dorky. He has a very dry wit but is actually pretty genuine person. Helpful with the pain in the ass class.
His tests are kind of tough, unless you study, haha, great guy, helpful with the business plan
His name sounds like he should be a wrestler. Good prof. Hard tests. Funny but only bc i like corny jokes, and he tells them on purpose
great professor. class are boring sometimes. he tries to make them fun with his corny jokes. tests are pretty much the vocab from the book. study that, and you should be fine
Very good teacher. He is very knowledgable in alot of different areas, if you need help on your business plan i recommend visiting Mr. Eliason first. His test aren't that bad if you study and if you have good attendance if gives you bonus points on test. Awesome teacher
Amazing teacher. Love this guy.
one of my favorite professors ever. very helpful, tests are pretty easy, so nice and really cares about his students! take him :)
this guys is awesome. shows concern for his students and wants you to learn the material. very helpful in office hours if you should ever need anything. consider yourself lucky if you get him.
One of the best teachers I have ever had at JMU. He knows the material so well and makes it entertaining to learn. The stuff isnt that exciting but the way he teaches he makes it bareable. He is so nice and is so helpful on the business plan and the project. Take him, he is great!
You'd be lucky to have this guy as a professor. One of my favorites. Always has a crazy tangent that leads back to the original material. Motivates and encourages students to do their best, and has little quips about life. Eliason, in short, is the man.
One of the best professors I have had so far at JMU, really makes class interesting and knows how to keep students attention, take him if you can
The easiest professor i had at JMU so far...he tries to scare you and tell you his tests are super hard...but they are def not..easy A
Good guy, funny, nice car
always has funny video clips and stories in class. really helpful and just a nice guy
Easy to understand, lots of real world experience and great little videos to break up class.
Awesome guy, though can seem intimidating at times. Class is always interesting; he often uses real-world examples and videos to keep you awake. Tests are straight-forward. Talk to him outside of class, he is the man!
Great class. Made a boring subject amazing. I would follow this man to war.
Eliason is the best professor I've had at JMU. Cares very much for his students and wants us to do well, not only in class but also with the business plan. Amazing man...
Classes are decently interesting. Watch out for his tests, they're pretty tricky, he likes you to really know ur stuff. Does a lot of random stuff in class, jokes keep you alive. DEFINITELY sucks to be on his bad side concerning the plan and benchmarks--highly critical and kind of a jerk.
He's a great professor. His tests are written weirdly at first, but after you begin to understand how he thinks they're easy. Hilarious and helpful. Overall, he cares about the student as a person. It's great.
He is the best professor I have ever had. Class is always interesting, because he knows when stuff is boring... it's a sense that all teachers should have.
Eliason is absolutely fantastic - his lectures are interesting, and he applies things to the real world. He'll show random videos to break up the lecture. If you're assigned him, you're in for a treat!
What can I say, Eliason's one of those professors where you pull more out of the class than just academics. The guy's been everywhere and has some very good advice. Always made class interesting, definitely a favorite among students. Exams were a bit hard for the material being so "common-sense." Everything else is a breeze. Awesome professor!
Eliason was absolutely amazing. No one looks forward to cob300 but I always enjoyed class-great lectures with real world application, he has tons of experience in the corporate world, he is SO funny, and absolutely inspiring. I hope that when I graduate my boss will be JUST LIKE ELIASON!
Class is pretty boring but you have to go (2 free misses). Eliason does his best to make it interesting though. If you go to class and follow the directions on the research assignments there is no reason you should not get a good grade. 400/1000 class points are basically just for showing up and the tests are not that difficult.
he is a great guy. take good notes and use them to study- once you understand his tests you'll do fine. i did terrible on the first, aced the second easily. he can be harsh on the benchmarks, but he really cares and he's definitely one of the better cob 300 teachers.
Eliason is the man. He is hilarious and makes his lectures as interesting as he can all though the content is pretty boring. However his tests are pretty hard so study hard for them, the final is not cumulative. Should be an easy B if you go to class and study for tests. You'll love Eliason
Great teacher & makes the class interesting. ALOT of information on the tests make sure to break it up when studying and start a few days ahead of time, mainly on the note sheets and some from the text book. Cases are 20 points each and really easy if you read them. Attendance is worth 10% of your grade... easy points Overall he's Great!
Great professor! Finally someone who actually teaches! He is always willing to help, is very approachable, knows his material, and is real with his students. He makes you work hard but also makes it worth it. Not difficult to get a B and make sure you get a book with the note sheets.
Very inspirational and nice. Study a lot for exams and you can do well. Use the LearnSmart feature on Connect. I loved it and it helps you learn the material as you go! Read the notes at the end of the chapters bc those are the main focus on his tests. Plays cool videos in class so it's not boring. Doesn't change your grade, it is what it is.
Currently sitting in one of the most inspirational and interesting lectures I've ever attended in my entire college career. Eliason gives a unique, fresh perspective on not only management, but life as well. Work load is reasonable and tests are not bad at all if you spend some time studying. Makes it clear what you need to know. Love this man.
Fairly easy class. Study the note sheets in the back of the book and listen to his stories (they show up on exams). Overall, I would recommend him. Do well on the case studies, they add up to a substantial amount of your grade. 2% Extra credit for perfect attendance.
Great class, study for the tests. If he gives something out make sure you read it.
Wonderful man with great stories. Easy A, but you learn a lot along the way.
Bob Eliason is the man. He's hiked more trails than the amount of fingers and toes that I have, and I have 6 toes on one foot. He really prepares you for exams and everything with his notesheets. If you get him for 300, you just cashed out.
Top 3 favorite teachers at JMU. You can tell Bob has a passion for teaching. His lectures are interesting and it is not hard to pay attention. He breaks up the class with videos that relate to the subject. Assignments are very relevant and you don't dread them. Best of my COB 300 teachers by far. Attendance is important but your allowed two skips.
Eliason knows his stuff. Class was made much more enjoyable with stories from his experiences and videos throughout the lectures. He's a very engaging professor and straightforward about his expectations for class. Tests are long and can be a little tricky, but as long as you show up to class and follow the given note sheets, you'll be fine!
Bob is the bomb. His lectures are always so interesting, and even though the material might seem like common sense, he relates everything to actual businesses. His tests can be difficult if you don't use his note sheets in class. All the homework is online. He is super helpful if you go to his office hours for advice about the business plan.
Absolutely love him, he's the most interesting cob300 teacher. Does attendance randomly, not necessary to show up to every class but most of the tests are based on lectures. The textbook for this class is only a $30 online book because he hates the bureaucracy of college textbooks. Has a lot of interesting stories about his life and life in general
Bob was by far the best 300 professor out of all of them. He is one of the most interesting people I've ever met and he brings a lot of enthusiasm to the classroom. His class was so reasonable: non-cumulative final, three tests, online quizzes, and one short presentation. I'd recommend him to anyone. Seriously love the guy.
Bob's the GOAT, one of my fav professors at JMU. Made having 8:00am COB300 bearable. 3 tests all taken at Ashby, are fairly easy if you study a little, very easy to get a B, hard to get an A, but his class is structured in the way that all the easy outside assignments add up, and really can boost your grade - also gave 2% of EC which was awesome.
Bob is a very interesting man. Although you won't learn much about interpersonal skills, you do learn a lot about life in general. We had one group project that we worked on the entire semester, but its not hard. Tests aren't bad if you study the powerpoints and book. Solid choice for 202 prof, take him
Made this tues thurs class at 8 am so bearable, he's so funny and inspiring, his life experiences are way more exciting and interesting than any of ours combined, his tests are reasonable if you fill out in class note sheets, he's a little tough during the plan but that's to be expected, 8 ams suck but this guy is definitely a plus
Bob is an incredible professor with amazing stories about his past careers and travels. Three pretty hard tests, but no final. Easy weekly case studies about unique business structures, which make up for the hard tests. Ties seemingly random things into management during lecture (chicken sexing, planes, animated music). 10/10 recommend
His lectures seem to get off topic sometimes, but in a good way with interesting stories and material. There are three tests that you take on Canvas, but they are rather difficult; there's no final. Takes attendance randomly about 10 times a semester. Helps a decent amount with the business plan as well. Overall, great guy that I would recommend.
He doesn't teach, you have two exams that are 38 questions and 300 points. He's very unclear with assignments and exams. Never once did we go over in class the material we were tested on. I really thought it would be an easy A, but no.
Great teacher, hilarious and best of all 4 COB 300
Eliason is a great guy. He connects very well with students. Tests aren't too bad but you have to study and read book. Other assignments he assigns are easy 100 if you do them and try somewhat. By far best management prof for 300. Wouldn't say its an easy A, but its possible. It is an easy B or above
Eliason is a good guy. Likes to talk about himself a lot though. Make sure to read the textbook and take notes in class because tests cover it all. THIRD test is VERY absurd. A lot of random questions you wont know.
Eliason is THE MAN. He brings the classroom to life with so many life stories, examples, and jokes. Lectures and assignments have real-life application, which is awesome! Be prepared for the question-portion of the business plan presentation, though; tough questions. 15ish quizzes based on assigned case studies, 3 Tests, and 1 "Final." Take him!
Tests are worth almost all of your grade, 2 tests 300 points each. Gives absolutely no guidance on group assignments or any homework he assigns. Has no grading rubric for any assignments so you are left guessing on what he wants. His lectures are entertaining but sometimes he just rambles off on stories that leave you confused. DO NOT TAKE.
I had professor Eliason for COB 202 and it was a huge mistake. I saw his rating on this website and thought he was a good choice for 202 but I was wrong. He is a nice guy but he is very unorganized and claims that he hates exams, but gives you two exams that are very difficult and are worth 60% of your grade. For your own sake choose else.
Professor started the first class by saying this was the least important COB course we'd take. His expectations were not clear and he graded harshly. The tests wording was very confusing and I never knew what to expect because reading the slides and textbook could not prepare you for the random questions on tests. He was not very understanding.
Very laid back teacher which seems nice at first but leads to being very unorganized and unclear on what to do for assignments and what material will be on tests. Only has two tests, including the final, which make up 60% of overall grade. Tough grader and all other assignments throughout the semester are barley worth any points. Don't take!
He is a very nice guy but he is disorganized and he is a hard grader. Everyone else I know in 202 has an A and it's impossible to get an A in his class. Most of his assignments have nothing to do with what we're learning and the exams are wordy and complicated. Don't take him if you want to get an A
Pay attention in lectures
Pay attention during lectures. Bob is a sweet guy and has some cool stories if you ask him about hiking!
Bob was a cool guy and really cares about his students. Lectures can be boring and pointless. Tests are hard too
Great guy and interesting lectures. Lectures do not reflect much on exams which are very hard. Hard to know what to study for the exam.
Professor Eliason is by far my favorite business professor I have ever had! The amount of knowledge that you can learn from him is immense. He's super funny and really a sweet guy. His exams are hard but he outlines everything through his study guides, note sheets, and in-class discussions. There is no reason you should not do well in his class!
Bob is a funny man who gives you inspiration and helpful business and personal life advice to apply outside in the future working world. Tests are a bit hard and account for a huge portion of your grade but he gives out note sheets and textbook study guides to help you study the right material.
bobs an interesting one ill tell you that much. his class has 3 tests and a few easy case studies, and for the test you are allowed one cheat sheet so its not bad. he definitely will make you laugh.
Great guy but he goes on tangents about topics that aren't on exams or super relevant. Enjoys talking about his life in class, but gives really good feedback for the business plan.
He is one of the coolest professors I have ever had. His material is actually relevant and interesting with very little homework and 0 papers. However, he is scattered at times and his exams are unreasonably hard with material you didn't learn in class. With that being said, he usually goes in and gives back some points. Great choice for the class!
Eliason was awesome. His course is structured as a conversation every class - no textbook chapters, reading quizzes, etc. He uses real world examples to talk about business and is super funny and understanding. It's relaxed. I went to every class, casually did the homework, read a decent amount, and got a 90%. So you don't need to go crazy. Take.
Eliason is good at what he does, not hard to do well in his class
I love professor Eliaso . Genuinely one of my fav professors here. Most genuine human ever and his humor is the best, has me laughing all class. A few hw assignments and multiple choice test. Lectures are relevant and interesting. I would take him again if I could.
Eliason is such a sweet sweet man. I enjoy him as a person but his test are unnecessarily hard and are 60% of your grade. It's not an easy A but he is a gem in the College go Business.
Eliason is a very kind and caring teacher. However, his exams were much harder than you would think. They were worded strangely, at times, and contained very specific info. Overall, I liked him a lot as a person, and the class wasn't much work, however exams were too difficult for the content.
Great professor. He is very funny at times and a very of his lectures were fun and very interactive. More than fair guy, Tests are decently easy if you study. Not much homework as well. However the lectures can be very boring at times, I found it hard to stay focused when a class was mainly focused on the material. Amazing professor nonetheless.
Tests are so hard. Pay attention in class to what he says. For the business plan, def pay attention for hints. He was wholesome and always had funny stories and actitivies.
Easy grade, and the professor is very nice and professional. However, 90% of this class was a waste of time. Every other COB300 class was more difficult but much more valuable to learn. Attendance is mandatory and a few class discussions aren't on the class note sheets or reading. Many of the the topics in this class are a complete waste of time.
Some tricky questions, 4 tests at 15% each with a notecard, weekly assignments. Nice guy, lectures can be dull. Must attend at least 60% of classes where attendance is taken, and attendance checks are random, so go to class, and most info on tests come from what he says, so it's helpful to go. All around chill guy.
Eliason is very interesting. personally this was one of my least favorite classes and teachers ever. his lectures are boring, hes not compelling or even seems like his personality fits being a professor, im truly not sure why he chose this job. hes sorta nice but watch out, the tests are full of trick questions. id avoid this guy.
Professor Eliason is a super laid back dude, his lectures are a bit dry but the content is really easy. He gives you study guides for each tests, outlining the chapters and what you have to know. He gave extra credit at the end of the year which raised my C+ to a B-. He makes management a chill class on the side, so you can focus on the others.
Very laid back professor but gives dry lectures. He gives note sheets to fill out during class, but test material was more than just on note sheet. He had 4 tests, all non cumulative. He was not super helpful during our COB300 project tho, gave very little feedback.
I don't understand why he is rated so high. 4 tests that are impossible with study guides that don't help. The tests are based on the notes and "what he says in class." Lectures are very boring and go off-topic. Little to no hw and attendance are taken regularly. My grade is only high because he ended up creating his grading scale wrong.
I hated this class. Most boringgg man ever. was fighting to stay awake in his class and it is so much friken work for management. he teaches nonsense and then the exams are lowkey super tricky. grade is based off of 4 exams (have to study a lot for) and a few case studies (easy).
Professor Eliason was such a sweet guy, however, I felt lost throughout his lectures. It felt like his tests didn't match up with his exams which was rough. This class is very doable but it's annoying. Eliason is 100% better than the other professors.
Management is the easiest of the classes for COB300, but Eliason's class is still pretty chill. Free textbook that isn't required material for exams, classes get let out early usually, and cheat sheets for all the exams. He also plays videos for like a fourth of the class too. Lectures can be boring, but overall, pretty un-strenuous.
Eliason is a little odd at first but once you get used to him you'll love him. Easiest class in 300 as long as you take notes on what he says and the slides. Tests can be a little difficult if you didn't listen to him in class but he purposefully makes them semi-easy so that students do well.
Boring class but only required to go to 60% of classes which is chill. He plays lots of videos that you don't need to pay attention to. He says no computers but nobody follows that. Honestly liked the guy. 1st test got me though, I got a 76%. With that being said, the other assignments and exams were so easy and weighted that I ended with 100 so dw
Bob's class can be hit or miss, but he's a cool guy. Lectures can be dry, but the tests are fair if you stay engaged and use resources like ChatGPT and unstuck AI for study prep.
Prof. Eliason is truly a nice man, respectful, occasionally funny, and cares about the content and the students in the class. The lectures are incredibly dry but I feel this is due to the content itself, he tries his best to make it a little more engaging but there's not a lot he can do. Would reccomend.
Bob is a nice guy and management is an easy class, but leactures were boring and sometimes he would talk about some random stuff that was barely related. no final but tests can be worded weirdly so be careful.
His lectures can be boring but I found his class to be easy and he has extra credit opportunities.
A lot of people did not like him because he often talks about stuff that seems like it does not relate to the class but it was more interesting than the other 300 classes so I liked him. Exams are not easy but not super hard. His classes can be boring but I feel like he understands that his class does not need to be super hard and work heavy.
