Very funny, very helpfull, and great explanations for everything.
great prof..actually knows what the hell hes talking about..

Very knowledgeable, funny and helpful
Amusing, very knowledgable, and a great storyteller. Going to class is worth it!
110% GURU - This man knows his stuff. Sometimes a little hard to keep up with.

decent prof, definitely enthusiastic about his work, picks on you for being late

Not bad. Knowledgeable but eccentric

Awesome prof, super funny, I learned alot! Thanks
He knows just about everything, except how many photocopies of the test to make!

He's so hyper and funny! Knows his stuff. Loved his class and learned from it.
best teacher in i.t.m.

Great professor. Actually makes learning fun and intriguing. Best prof in ITM.
funniest teacher, makes class fun, TAKE ONE OF HIS CLASSES!
i think he knows about this site and is writing good stfuff about himself
why on earth would you ever give anyone a test that you can't get perfect on!
somehow a very cool guy
No Comments
not helpful, we need you to bell the marks now not later
Tests do not show knowledge of student, but shows how much worthless stuff can be crammed into brain. More practical stuff needed.
Great prof, just stay out of accidental spitting range.
lol..he knows about this site..makes his own comments...be aware!!!
knows what is he talking bout but tests don't reflect anything from the course and plus not helpful at all
Cool Guy, could be more helpfull and clear
ummmmmmmmm...uhhhhhhhhhhhh...andddddddddddddd...ummmmmmmmmm......
This teacher is pretty bad he constantly goes on and goes off topic and makes you very lost. Also enjoys insulting the students and making them feel dumb. BEWARE IF YOUR IN HIS CLASS
Someone warned me to switch sections. Lots of others did. I should have paid attention.
Really cool guy. A lot of life experience to share with students.

Amazing guy, unusual teaching skill, but most definitely a good prof.
nice guy, but lectures were quite useless as he rambles on about anecdotes and makes very little reference to the course material. powerpoint presentations are a regurgitation of the text material. spend your time out of class reading.
he's very knowledgeable, smart, and funny. he makes everything easier to understand and has lotsa examples. if you're not doing fine in his class, it means you're LAZY!
Not to be mean to the Prof as he is a really good guy and means well... but totally off topic and rambles. Contradictions everywhere and never know where you are really headed. Just read your book and power points for review.
A nice man, smart too, but his lectures are so frustrating. Half the time I don't know what he is talking about, why he is talking about it, or where he is going. This class is HARD.
He know's his stuff, but just doesn't know how to teach it. Very unprofessional, doesn't use the book at all and continually makes fun of the book that us students paid a crap load of money. Like i said he knows his stuff real well he just can't manage to effectively teach the students.
Very knowledgeable prof who'll make you understand the material just by going to his classes. He does a lot of work for students and posts a lot of supplemental material on BB. You'd do much better in his class than any other prof's
He's a little weird but he really knows his stuff. If you are respectful, he will help you out when you ask questions. He will pick on students in class so beware. The material is VERY heavy so make sure you stay up-to-date on readings! Very important!
Had him for two classes and think he is the best prof at Ryerson. Funny, extremely knowledgeable, helpful. If you think he's unclear, it's because you don't do your readings. Talks a mile a minute about anything and everything, especially his good friend James Tam! (ask about James Tam, funny story)
Among the best profs at Ryerson. Knowledgeable, helpful and interesting. Challenges you to learn more. I would recommend you take his classes if you can including ITM 704 (Wireless Communications).
He talks about stories more than the material. the material and the book is easy, so DONT go to class just go with the book and ignore the prof. he waste alot of time taking about everything except the book and ITM600. he is a nice person and he will help you if you went to ask him (BUT HE DOESNT KNOW HOW TO TEACH)
He is very good at teaching ITM 400. Very thorough course. Do ur readings before class. He has very good PPTs. He explains everything very well. Ask questions and answer his questions; you will do well. READ the chapters! He is a fun prof - he is funny but very knowledgable. Be on time or u will be in his bad books - but he will never be unfair.
He is a cool dude. Very funny, curses a lot (but in a nice way)He knows his****(in his own terms). He is my kind of prof. But somebody get him a girl friend. He needs one!!

Had him for all three classes. Simply the best prof in my years at Ryerson. Helps students, and always clear in his explanations. He is tough prof, but fair. Prepares you for the real world. I recommend to any student to join his class. It was a pleasure to be in his class.
Took 2 courses with him, going on my thrid, wouldn't be on my thrid if he sucks... his stories are hilarious, just a change to keep u awake from the boring technical mambo jambo
heavy course-load, but a very good prof who shares a lot with his students. He's also a good mentor if you approach him during office hours. great guy overall
course is not worthwhile, students are bombarded with massive concepts which i think are useless. for example, you learn ssl, acl, proxy, firewall but at the end of the day you still dont know how to set up a basic firewall
Professor Hudyma gave me a banana. Oh ya, I scored an A- in his 704 class :)Very knowledgable individual.
This guy is the worst prof in Ryerson University. Not only does he use the f word every 5 minutes, he enjoys the fact that people fail his classes. He also likes to talk about his personal life more than the subject. He does not help students, he always has a pop quiz, and he does not know how to teach. Do not take this prof at all.
He is pretty interesting and fairly helpfull. Not bad.
Why does he make you take off your hat when in his class or office. He is strict about it but never really explained why?
Hudyma's the BOMB DIGGY. Anyone complaining is just bitter because of a bad grade, which is the result of not trying hard enough. I've had him for at least 3 courses and I love his teaching style, his stories, and the way he keeps us all interested. Probably the most inspiring teacher I've had in university.
By far the funniest prof I have ever had at ryerson. His jokes are hilarious, he tells bad ones here and there but overall funny. Stories are great, lectures are Decent. Great Prof.
Very interesting course but heavy workload. You not only have 2 books but also have to attend class because things he talks about are on the tests and exam. Bob gets pissed if you arrive to class late, he marks hard too, so make sure you study for this course and take notes if you watch videos, etc.
I suprised i did well in the class, despite that the final exam was killer! Make sure you ask for help if you don't understand the material, because the midterm and final exam is based off the assingments and textbook
Great course to learn security. In order to pass with a good grade, your brain better hold at least 1-terabyte of data with a relevant processor.
bob is a nice guy. he is very intelligent, but he often talks about stuff unrelated to the course. just ask questions and you will be ok. his lectures are sometimes boring, but he is fun to have in class
His classes were empty by the third and fourth lectures. They were so boring that no one had interest in attending and hearing his pointless jokes. The material he talks about is also usually irrelevant, and he brings up stuff that he has said in previous lectures for the 10th time! The midterm and final exams are really hard, and tough & pointless
He's a very intelligent prof knows everything that hes talking about extremely well. He's not a millionaire by mistake. Goes off topic with stories, but they all have a useful and helpful message on the real world as well most are entertaining. Had him for three courses one of my fav profs at Ryerson.
Goes way off topic and tests don't align with material covered. Spent a whole class talking about how hard it was to upgrade to Win 7. The course had nothing to do with operation systems.
Boring lectures and he constantly repeats the same stories over and over. Goes off topic with said stories. Assignments are often not even based on the textbook or the lectures.
I wished he made hard to understand concepts and topics easier to comprehend (like subnetting). Many people had to work together on assignments and if I hadn't I wouldn't have known what I was supposed to do even though I attended the class.
This is not an easy course. Prepare to work extra hard to get good grades. Read and understand the text book. You MUST work hard to get good grades in this class. Study regularly and do the labs by yourself and you will be fine.
Mr. Hudyma's class was VERY enjoyable. No matter what other reviews say, if you do your work, hand in your assignments, and study like your in university, you will enjoy this class! Almost all negative reviews posted here probably come from people who expected to fly through this course, they learned that is not the case the hard way.
He's ok; not very clear and helpful. Got a good mark in this course only because I already had basic networking knowledge. Attend his classes, don't get on his bad side, and you'll be fine. Assignments are fair. Final exam is open book, but it won't help you much. The book itself is more like a technical dictionary, than a textbook.
Hudyma is a funny guy. I went through a tough time, and he was nothing but supportive. In all honesty, if you do the homework before class, and attend his lecture you will greatly benefit. He will answer his phone and help students, WARNING: does not really respond to emails. Make sure to attend office hours.
Not only is this proff very funny and entertaining, he dedicated 2 of his saturday afternoons to conduct a review lecture for the class.
Tries to make even 8 am classes really enjoyable; has an interesting laugh; very helpful. My recommendation is to attend his class no matter what and do the homework like any math course and you'll see your marks improve from that effort
Robert, you helped shape my career in IT and I regularly attribute my success in the field to my time in your classes 420600. Your tests weren't easy, you were overly demanding of your students time and you can be completely unforgiving. Thank you. You forced me to stop coasting and give an honest effort helping me find my passion for IT.
You have to go to class for the iclicker quizzes. Hudyma himself is really nice though and tries to make class interesting. There's too much information in the textbook though and he doesn't cover it all in class. He's always willing to talk to you though and help.
overall this class is easy to pass but you HAVE to put in the work!! Iclicker questions every lecture! His lectures are always VERY off topic, he will say really weird things about his personal life. The textbook will SAVE you, read it and KNOW your definitions in the textbook if u know the defintions you will do great
By far the WORST professor in Ryerson University. If I were you, I would switch classes while you still have the chance.
Worst ITM100 prof at Ryerson. Never taught anything. Expect to self learn this course. Dont choose this guy. Midterm avg was 48%, had to boost everyone by 10%. Lectures are useless, talks about personal life. Good things: hes friendly and outgoing, would be a great friend but not a great professor. Dont be fooled by avg grade on this profs page.
If you want to contemplate dropping out of business technology management please do take this prof! He'll make you want to re evaluate why you even decided to major in btm. Midterm questions were pulled literally out of the sky, save yourself and choose another prof.
By far the best prof at Ryerson University. He uses real life examples to explain the content and he is very funny.
Well he tries. I wouldn't say that he is the worst but he could be better. I had to read a chapter at least 3 times in order to understand his 24 slide "summary" ppt. If your willing to read then go otherwise it's a no
He wasn't a good prof, but he wasn't a bad one either it was trouble learning in his class because majority of the class time he talks about his personal experience some are related majority aren't. He's very social, but can get salty at times. Expect to learn from the textbook because he gets off topic a lot. In terms of material it's inbetween
It has been several years since I graduated, you were hard on us, you pushed us, and often times I found you crass and unsavory. You were also the most effective and inspirational Professor that I ever had and greatly helped to shape my life and career. Your passion for the industry significantly, positively, helped me grow as a professional.
honesty ITM is a joke to begin with, i recommend doing really well on your labs. Read the text book and hope for the best
He straight up tells you the course textbook is boring from the beginning. It is. He tries to relate concepts to real life examples but ends up mostly talking about his life. He wants people to pass though so his midterm and exam aren't the hardest. Just lots of reading of a boring course and textbook. Good guy. Just not a good prof.
Lectures are not mandatory, however you need to keep up with the slides and textbook. Proff is pretty generous and doesn't mark to hard. He does round the final exam marks up, which is kinda helpful.
Course is very bland, and his lectures take a big hit for it. Tells stories in lectures trying to engage students, but often ends up getting sidetracked. You can just study the textbook and powerpoint slides he posts and end up getting an A easily, don't really need to go to his lectures.
For students who are planning to take ITM 100/102, I would advise avoiding this prof. As for the course, the book is not the greatest source(STILL READ IT) since the exam may consist of answers you either never seen before or most of the MC answers are similar. I would recommend doing practice exams/Online Test/flashcards. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE
Lectures are not the worst but every test/exam was multiple choice only which i really don't like (ITM102). Nice guy but goes off topic a lot so be prepared to read the textbook before tests/exams. Not all info for tests/exams is on the slides that he presents so you have to look for info you think will be on the tests in the textbook
Amazing Prof I passed with a 4.0 with him! He uses real life examples. Might seem like he is going off topic but he actually isn't listen carefully to what he is saying you will learn a lot about the course and life lessons.
Never went to more than 3 lectures of his, taught myself through the textbook and powerpoint slides, and got a really good mark. Midterm and final is extremely easy, multiple choice, and really all just terminology. Went to his office hours and gives really good advice. Genuinely nice guy with a weird sense of humour.
Nice Guy but you'll have to self teach yourself the entire class which was really annoying.
I loved Prof. Hudyma for ITM! He was always so funny in class and really personable. This is not a hard course, and he's willing to help out if you are finding it difficult, but all you really need to do is show up for the labs. Be prepared to hear some amazing stories about his life working in the field!
A very funny guy with lots of amazing stories to share. The course itself is a difficult so you must be prepared to spend a lot of time reading the textbook. Other than that it's not bad.
Class is not hard, easy B+/A-: 1) Lectures are optional, didn't go to one, just study by memorizing key terms in text (find it online) 2) Do ALL weekly case studies (easy 10%) 3) GO to the labs (important) There you have it.
I don't get why this guy has good reviews. All itm midterms are full memorization so you just have to pray that you know everything. Case studies are really easy and the first lab is pretty easy also. Bob can not teach for his life and is only there because he owns shares of ryerson itself!!!!
He's a really cool guy. He makes an effort to make lectures interesting. Frankly, the subject is a boring one and exams are heavilyyyy based on textbook material so I think he does great considering that. I'd recommend him - but for this course, if you want a good grade you have to do a lot of reading and memorization.
Professor Hudyma is engaging and cracks tons of jokes in class. The textbook is a pain but thats not on him. Would say that both exams are quite hard but getting a good mark is feasible. Attendance isnt mandatory as he doesnt really go through the material in class, cases and lab quizzes are easy. Take him especially if youre a self learner!
This professor was one of the reasons why my first semester at Ryerson was hell. He loves to talk about himself but is never available to help his students. He does not respond to emails. After each class, he runs away, so if you had a question saved for the end of the class, you better keep it for the next class.
He was so bad I wanted to give him a zero, but that was not possible, so I gave him one.
