For a very difficult class, he was a great teacher. Always very helpful and a nice guy. Hard to find in the science department.
I really liked his class especially the labs and would look forward to having a class with him again.
Dr. K is great. He was always prepared to teach. His grading methods were clear and fair. I still laugh about the mental picture he gave about electrons playing Plinko.
Dr. K. made physics fun. He is a great teacher. He explained the concepts and was always available for questions.
He really made physics fun for me, being the animated person he is he was always excited about physics for the class. His tests were tough but very fair. NOTE: his exams are VERY conceptual so they require you to know the material inside and out.
I was never very good at physics, but Dr K made it bearable. He's really an extremely nice guy and would go to any lenght to help you out. He really cares! The only part I didn't like about his class was that he would pick on you if you weren't raising your hand! Made everyone kind of nervous!
hard to understand, not clear on tests at all, tests were very difficult for beginning physics, not many high grades overall
Very good teacher. He's very entertaining during his lectures. He uses powerpoint presentation for his lectures. Tests are a little difficult and they consist of 15 multiple choice and 3 or 4 essay. Be thorough on the homewotk or don't expect full credit. He gives in-class questions at random. I got a lot out of his Astronomy class. Recommended!!!!
I thought I know Physics well, until I met him. If you want an indepth and thorough understanding, this is the professor to take. He actually teaches while also telling us stories about science history, just like telling a whole story. Great analogy, great power point, great explanation, great class. Hard but passable. He is also funny sometimes.
All he does is lecture off his powerpoint. He is a good lecturer, but I wish he would mix it up. You do not really need to pay attention in class because all his powerpoints are online. I often found myself falling asleep. If you read through his powerpoints, you'll do fine on the tests.
Dr. K is the best!!! I've had him for Astronomy, Physics I,II & Modern Physics.I'm also taking him for Dynamics now. I RECOMMEND him over any other Proffessor at Century.
I LOVED Dr.K. he is an amazing teacher. i really did not like physics at all but he was so nice! really helpful. always follows what is on the power points so you know what to study. i recommend him to EVERYONE. seriously if you have to take physics TAKE HIM!! he will help you and gives points just for trying. lots of chances to get points from hw!
The only day you have to show up is on Friday when you turn in homework for the week and take a quiz. The homework is minimal, and it will help to prepare you for the tests. The exams and quizzes can be quite hard unless you go over your notes and do practice problems outside of class. I ended up learning the material quite well.
Some things can get confusing if you just try and learn it by reading from the book, so i would highly recommend attending class. He can answer questions very clearly.
ive taken dr. k fro both 1081 and 1082. he's the shiz-niz best teacher at century!! incredably great guy. loves teaching physics. everyone says his tests are hard but i feal if you go to his lectures do the homework and know it you do good. plus understand the material!! which i like most. i would definatly take him over any other teacher!!
Great Guy! Very kind and helpful. However, if you are new to physics, and don't have a mind for the sciences, the class moves too fast and is easy to get lost. Beginners seem to be left behind. Honestly, the toughest class I have had in a long time was Physics 1020! But, Dr. K is a kind, funny, helpful man. I still struggled, though.
One of the best teachers I have ever had. He was very helpful on tough points and broke down his lectures so you fully understood the main points.
Hard to pay attention, he is hot and end up daydreaming. Covers class info very well.
Bob's a great teacher. I didn't do as well as I had hoped in his class, but not on his account. I would definitely recommend you pay attention and do the work. He is one of the few good teachers at Century. Take his class!
Dr k is a great guy! his classes are fun on account of his humor. he expects you to understand the material, but he does such an amazing job of explaining it. if you have a bad grade from him its completely your fault!!
awesome teacher, if you prefer to be around happy energetic people this is the man. reminds me of van wilder almost. its hard to fail this class. has humour, makes your day, words just cant explain it, but he is the bomb. i would highly reccomend this teacher if your taking physics.
This was a hard class! but Dr. K made it almost painless. He was always available for questions. He had a positive, fun attitude that made the class fun to come to. His in class examples were fun and hands on. Things do move very fast in this class so pay attention, read the text & practice the formulas. Dr. K gives no extra credit and exams are tricky at times, so go for every point you can if you want the A.
great teacher, cares.
Physics has always been a hard subject for me, but Dr. K does a great job of teaching this course. He's very helpful and answers all of your questions. He's funny too and makes class more interesting. Plus, he actually cares. Definitely recommend!
Extremely smart and knows how to present concepts clearly. Any question you have, he can address you where you are coming from. He tests on concepts, ALL TESTS ARE EASY if you pay CLOSE attention, take detailed notes, and read the book. The tests will be on concepts though. Very willing to help, best teacher I have ever had.
Dr. K knows his stuff. Makes it interesting when he teaches. Not easy, but if you go to class, pay attention and do assignments you can do well. BUT, Dr. K does a poor job of maintaining the class. There were many PSEO students in my class who talked excessively and Dr. K did little to control it. It was disruptive. Annoying to the paying student
Physics is one of the hardest topics to teach both the concepts and the Math with clarity. With that said, Klindworth accomplished what most cannot; excelled teaching on both the Concepts of Physics and the Math. He's a tough guy, but it is not impossible to get an A, take good notes and use every resource he gives you and you'll do just fine.
Best professor I've ever had. He knows his stuff and can actually make physics fun (I never previously enjoyed the course). I took 1081/1082 with him and got an A both semesters. It wasn't necessarily easy, but it is definitely achievable if you have the drive.
Understands student questions
Good luck getting anything besides a C. He is a very tough grader, the tests are near impossible to get even a B on and he never starts class on time. AVOID.
Not the easiest class, but hey, it's physics, you should know what your getting in to. If you work you'll make it through and he is a great teacher, much better than any other one at century. And by other one I mean science teacher. May the physics be with you :)
The concepts were tricky to grasp at times but overall awesome class. exams are mainly multiple choice on the concepts with a few work out equation problems at the end, ranging from easy to hard as you move through them. Dr K is always available for questions and is a entertaining dude to listen to in class.FOR SURE TAKE HIM IF ITS REQUIRED FOR YOU
Bob is a fantastic teacher. He always takes time to answer questions. He is a tough grader, but he is very fair. His lectures are all ppt, and posted online. You're supposed to read out of the book, but I got away with not. Except to do the homework.
Dr. K was very entertaining in class, had a good attitude, and would help you as long as you showed you were trying. Tough class and personally I had to do a lot of reading and ended up getting a B. I would recommend him, but in lab my friend kept telling me how much easier Xue Gu was with his sample tests and grading, so I wish I wouldve taken him
Have had 4 different phys profs and he is by far the best one. Stresses conceptual understanding on tests and quizzes. Answers every question very thoroughly and clearly. Knows he's teaching to mostly aspiring engineers and relates concepts to applications. Want a high grade, take Gu. Want physics understanding, take Klindworth.
Great teacher. Stresses understanding more than plug and chug. Class is not hard and homework is about 6 problems a week that usually take 5-10 min each.
The only good thing I can say is that he loves what he teaches and is a good teacher. However, we have 2 weeks left of semester and has only graded 1 lab! I have emailed him 3 times in the last week and NO reply. He has never replied my emails.
He loves to teach that much is true. However, he taught a very difficult entry level physics class! His tests are ridiculously hard and he seems to forget that students are not masters of the subject, if we were, we wouldn't be in a class for it! Never answered emails. Most of the homework and all the labs were not graded till after the final.
HORRIBLE. Good luck if you know nothing about physics, only helps the people that really understand. Leaves the rest of the class stranded. I have never dropped out of a class in my life, and his was the first. Maybe we just didn't click, he tries to be funny and you can tell that he enjoys what he does, but should try actually "teaching."
Bob was the best physics prof at Century as far as I concern. He made sure that everyone understood concepts before moving on. His example in classes are so easy to follow through and thorough. I understand more physics in his class. The class is not as hard as one anticipated as long as one got through all the calculus classes.
If the whole class fails a test, he keeps going. We are obviously struggling with the material since most of us aren't great with Physics, and this class didn't require any pre-reqs of such. Would not take this class again The class is LARGELY 50 graded by weekly quizzes that have tricky truefalse questions.
Best teacher I've ever had. Passionate about science, humorous and very helpful
Great passionate about science teacher. Explains concepts clearly and willing to help you outside class if needed
Great passionate about science teacher. Explains concepts clearly and willing to help you outside always
Dr K was a fabulous teacher! He was so funny and helpful in explaining everything. I bought my textbook online for 40$ instead of 150$, save yourself the money. I would recommend him 100%.
He suffers from the same problem that a lot of professors who are enthusiastic about their respective subjects have; they think that their class is your life. I may be studying to be an engineer, so I definitely had fun going a little deeper, but Dr. K needs to self-edit more and understand that I'm here because I have to be, not for fun.
Amazing teacher!
Heed my word and be warned, for his name is Klindworth, destroyer of GPA's
Dr. K is an AMAZING professor! By far my absolute favorite. He is insanely helpful and very funny. He makes physics fun. I always look forward to his lectures because of how enthusiastic, funny, and simply awesome he is. You still must study for the subject with dedication, though. Physics is physics. There's no easy way out. Overall, Dr. K is A+++
Dr. K is a very smart professor. He explains the concepts very well and stops to make sure everybody understands what's going on. His lectures are fun and time just flies by. There are weekly quizzes but they are pretty easy. Test are ok but his word problems are pretty confusing. Overall great professor and I recommend him 100%.
Dr.K was really nice, approachable and gave good lectures, but the biggest problem i found with his class was that he didn't grade the hw, probably graded 5 out of 32 and he never posted any lab grades. He closed down the D2L page without having posted final grade, hw grades, and lab grade so i was never able to see my overall grade in the class.
Super knowledgeable and excited about physics. His energy made the class bearable and made me get more into physics. He was always available if you needed help and explained things really well. You got a formula sheet for the tests which was super helpful. It would have been nice if he posted the lab grades on D2L before the end of the semester.
Attendance for his lectures are not mandatory. HOWEVER, you DO NOT want to miss them. The things he puts on the exams are more on wha the says in class and the example problems he gives, rather than what is on the powerpoint. YOU MUST STUDY FOR THE EXAMS. He doesn't surprise you with new information, but you do have to do some conceptual thinking
There not a lot of wiggle room when it comes to trying to gain more points to boost your grade. He does not give out extra credit and will only replace one of your test scores with the final. If you are k with a challenge and are a hard worker then I would recommend. f you're looking for an easy A, look somewhere else.
After every class he assigns 1-2 sections of the book to read and has a 1-2 questions about the reading online. He also assigns 1-2 problems a night from what was covered in the lecture. You always know what to expect from him. He has everything planned out, there was no rushing at the end of semester.
Dr. K is a PHENOMENAL professor. I HIGHLY recommend taking his class. He is very knowledgeable and presents the material in a clear, concise fashion. He is always willing to clarify, too. His exams are tough but they are fair. You will need to work for your grade in his class but you will not regret it. I would surely take another class from him.
There is homework every day, however it is always just one true or false question and one short answer so it is fairly easy, they aren't worth a huge amount of your grade anyway. Lecture is great, he speaks well and answers questions well, all necessary formulas are shown in the lectures. Lab depends on who teaches it because it usually isn't him.
By far the worst teacher in my life. Did not answer a single email (I sent him 6). Did not answer my questions. Does not have office hours. Does not give feedback on how we got our homework questions wrong. Does not care at all about you. I'm sure he takes pleasure out of unfairly grading everybody and taking over a week to grade labs.
Worst teacher i've ever had. Doesn't thoroughly answer questions and doesn't give a crap about his students. you do like 5 homework problems a week and he doesn;t grade them or like tell you what you did wrong so you can learn from your mistakes. Took the class with him twice and did not pass, then took it with a different prof and got a high B.
Soo great! He made the material so easy to understand. The tests had a lot of points for not a lot of questions which hurt my grade from getting a couple wrong each time. One of the best teachers Ive had for science though!
When I took Physics Concepts I assumed it would be very easy. I was very wrong. The class is based a lot around conceptual problems as the name implies. The exams are concept heavy math not as much. Be ready to study study and study. I recommend you go to class to even get an understanding of physics. Would take Intro to physics if I could go back.
Klindworth does not teach you how to think about the problems in a conceptual manner. He just gives the facts and then expects you to know how to think about the problems conceptually.
Excellent in teacher. Simplifies things and does old school (write out your answer) exams which help your grade. Daily homework is easy. I never read the textbook!
Amazing lectures! Probs the best science teacher at Century. Ensure we understand the topics and kept the lectures fun. Powerpoint based. Exams were problem solving. Easy but still had to study. Used the textbook only for HW and for preparing for exams. Very nice guy. Went to his office hours for extra help and he explained everything clearly.
Bob made physics really simple. I loved his personality; he is very easy going and approachable. He does many lectures, but he teaches the concept and gives practice problems for the class to solve and gives an explanation for all of the answers. He gives homework each class period: few problems, reading, and a quiz. You get what you put in.
Dr. K made this class very interesting, he is a great lecturer and repeated many key points you needed to write down. The tests were mostly conceptual with some formula math problems at the end. Labs were fun and interactive. He is very willing to help those in need, if you don't understand something just ask. Don't skip class or you will get lost.
He always goes over time and he tends to go on rants about unimportant things. The homework can be hard if you dont go to lectures. Labs are hard but he is Very helpful if your group gets stuck. Dont expect to know what your grade is ever during the semester bc he turns things back very late, especially labs
Dr K is the best teacher I've ever had. He's energetic which helps me stay focused, and he's very approachable. The material on his tests can be hard, but his grading is very generous. Not an easy A by any means, but if you put in effort you will definitely pass. My only gripe is that he's not a quick grader on the daily homework.
The in class notes are easy. You have to teach yourself the homework using the textbook, and the tests are advanced homework problems you have never seen.
very hard tests
Great prof. If you skip class you won't place
Great physics professor! I would strongly recommend him.
Not sure how I feel about Dr. K. As a person, he is awesome, very jolly, and charismatic. As a teach however, he teaches really fast, goes far too deep into detail, writes way too many formulas on the board, and all that can be really overwhelming. A hit or miss I must say. Exams are pretty hard as well and with no guidance of what's to come.
Pretty standard difficulty for a physics test, but overall he's alright
Very cool guy! I took his Astronomy class, would've loved to have him for Physics too but the timing didn't work for me. Class was easy, lecture pretty much every day, but he posts his notes online so if you miss a day it's not a huge deal. There were reading assignments but as long as you attend the lectures you could get by without the book.
If you want to take a teacher who doesnt grade any work after the third week and then closes out D2l before you can even see if he added all of your grades correctly for homework and labs than hes your guy. Tests are extremely difficult and not from the homework. Only from lecture. You HAVE to listen to every word he says to know whats on test.
Dr. K was a great physics professor! It made the class easier when high school level physics was known, but he often explained things clearly. He is a professor that talked to the class like a real human being and did not just read off of notes. He required only 1/3 of the lectures to be attended and the tests were not insanely difficult.
Really good teacher that understands the material and is willing to work with you one-on-one if you are struggling. One gripe I have is his inconsistency at checking his emails/D2L posts, so I suggest talking in person with him. He says you'll need to read the text, but if you're in every lecture you won't. If you only read the book, you're screwed
Dr. K is average at best, he is a really nice person but when it comes to teaching, his exams were nothing like what was taught in lectures or homework and exams are not too hard, but there was a lot of youtube watching for exam reviewing. Whenever questions need to be asked, take ages to answer. I took this class online so in-person might differ.
Couldn't have asked for a better professor. Great teacher, understanding, and passionate about the subject. It's physics - you'll have to study. I would recommend any student taking their first physics course to take Bob - no brainer.
he is a great professor. Caring, makes sure his students understand the material.
Great course for the class the lectures are easy to understand and the homework is easy. The most infuriating thing is the labs that are done throughout the year, HE DIDNT GRADE ANY OF THEM UNTIL THE END OF THE SEMESTER WHERE WE CANT EVEN SEE THE FEEDBACK so these unknown lab scores basically determine your grades.
Expects a lot from you. Has various methods for you to ask him questions, and he explains the homework well when I went to his office hours. Not out to get you, he wants you to succeed.
Great professor, gives clear step by step instructions, and wants his students to succeed. Although there is a decent amount of homework and the test can be somewhat tough since there is no practice test or online review. Study hard and read textbook b4 class!
Dr. K is a great professor. The problems on the exams are similar to the problems done in lecture. He can be a picky grader with labs and the homework can be tough. I think he is just preparing students for more difficult courses. Overall, the class was alright.
He is a really nice guy with a good sense of humor. My biggest issue is that he does not grade anything in a timely manner. Which is pretty annoying. Physics is already a tough subject, so not being able to track your progress just makes for a stressful semester. He is also a pretty tough grader. You can lose points for small things.
Overall, Professor Klindworth was an good professor. His lectures were interesting and not boring. He has a good sense of humor and he enjoys answering everyones questions. His tests can be challenging since they're thought provoking and make you think a level above what he has taught. Homeworks are short so additional studying is encouraged.
I took a gamble with this professor only having one rating and lost. SLOW GRADER and a HARSH GRADER. I still don't know what my final grade is because the course ended and he never entered HALF of my grades. He also NEVER responded to emails and I have sent him MANY. His office hours conflicted with my work schedule and he obviously didn't care.
What a nightmare. Orders you not to procrastinate but then he procrastinates putting in grades throughout the entire semester. The course just ended and over half of my grades were NOT entered. Idk what my final score is. That's extremely unfair and unprofessional. He never answers emails either. Not ONCE. And it wasn't just me being ignored too.
One of the best teachers I've ever had, hands down. Super bright and cares about your success. All you have to do is reach out for support.
Don't expect anything to be graded ever. There's over 30 assignments/labs completed and 7 graded. There's only 2 weeks left of the semester and I have no idea what my grade will be. We almost never are on track for curriculum. Lectures aren't very informative
I appreciate that the class is a hybrid class, but his class lectures are not always the best. Do not expect any feedback/grades for any online labs throughout the semester. Barely responds to emails and on D2L. I have tried contacting him to reschedule my in-person exams, didn't receive anything back from him and got a 0. What a great professor.
SLOWEST grader. No labs graded and the semester already ended. Homework half graded. Exams are actually graded though except my final. The last thing I wanna do is to open my audit transcript like a mystery box surprise toy just to see my grade. This is not a gender reveal, i want to see my grades ASAP. Only take if you know you'll do good
Difficult class and slow grader, but good lecturer, you can tell he enjoys physics. Don't fall behind because there's a lot of material covered each week. A few homework problems assigned after each class and are automatically graded in the website. I ended the semester with 0 out of the 11 online labs graded. Hard to reach out to!
