This professor is the BEST professor I've evern had in UCSD! He likes teaching very much and he teaches really well. All the important points are clearly made, and I learn quite a lot from his class even it was just a lab. He made OChem so much easier to understand than my 40A prof. Hell say that you have to do the homework 4 times each to really get it but I just went through each problem set once and figured out how to do it as I went and I scored 20+% above the average on both midterms. Tests are very fair. You just have to put in the time to learn(8 hr/chapter)

Ternansky is exactly the kind of professor I expected to have when going to university. Yes, his tests are hard, and yes the averages are quite low, but it is simply because he does not test memorization, but tests understanding of organic chemistry itself (and the curve is pretty good). Most rewarding class I have taken at university.
