Online quizzes (open book) and discussion make up most of your grade. There is a midterm & a final which are harder than you'd expect but she curves the results and if you work hard you can get a good grade. Will take future classes from her.

Bobbi is so awesome. She is very helpful and wants you to learn. She has guest speakers that require a paper after each one, tests that are closed-book, and a final that is open book. The victimology class also has a group presentation that is very easy as long as you do the work. She is the adviser for CJ here at UVU. Way awesome. Take this class!

Easy class if you take time a do the work. The midterm and finale are closed book and very difficult but she does curve the grade, must be taken in the CTC. Bobbi is willing to go the extra mile to help her students.

She is not qualified to teach any criminal justice class. She teaches right from the book because she has no experience. The one plus is that she brings in a few guest speakers with actual experience. I would recommend to take this class from someone with actual experience in the field, not a student councilor.

Bobbi seriously is an awesome professor! Who ever said she has no experience is up in the night! She teaches fro the book because that what you need to learn. She makes students group up and teach the class. This makes for an awesome experience and helps you really learn. Take any class you can from her!

Bobbi used to be the CJ counselor, but is now a professor. She wants you to succeed. She discusses the syllabus with the class and tailors it to the students' preference. The tests are a combination of multiple choice, fill in the blank, and essay questions. Pay attention to her lectures. I didn't buy the book or do the reading and I got an A-.

Two group projects throughout semester. Six 2-3 page papers on in class speakers and random lecture topics. I don't feel like I learned anything about Victimology. If you want to learn the subject don't take a class from this teacher. A lot of busy work. Not worth your time.

She is a great! She will really work with you if you have any problems, and is way cool to work with. She really wants her students to understand her teachings. You work in groups on group projects, and is fun. She is Awesome.

Bobbi is probably the kindest, most compassionate teacher you'll ever have. She's very invested in her student's success and her teaching style clearly reflects it. The class is very interactive and Bobbi does a fantastic job of helping her students understand the psychologicalemotional aspects experienced by victims of various crimes. Great class

Bobbi is a fantastic teacher. Our class was a service learning course, so you work in groups, ALOT. If the group isn't working out, just tell her. She's helpful and will help determine what should be done about it. The objective was clear and deadlines stuck. So, do your part and you'll pass with flying colors. If you dont.. You'll fail.

This class was easy, not many tests, great lectures, had "field trips" and speakers come talk to the class. As long as the assignments are turned in you will pass, assignments are not hard, 1st three chapters in the beg. is the most reading in the whole semester. Got first look experiences from field trips. you will not regret taking her class :)

This class was fun to take even though it was online. Bobbi makes you get out in to the field to learn. You do have to buy the text book for the quizzes. She is not a hard grader, there is just a lot to do. I work full time so it was hard to make time to get out in the field to do the assignments.

Though attendance is important, she is willing to work with students, which is where she has gained respect. She allows students to actively participate in the creating of the syllabus that makes course expectations clear. She did have group projects but she made sure the work was evenly distributed and grading was fair. Definitely would take again

Great professor

There were a lot of papers. Plus there were a lot of assignments on Canvas and the online book. Overall, the class was great. Just follow the lesson plan and pay attention.

It was a great class for online. Make sure you read the instructions very clearly because they can be confusing. If you do miss something she will often let you change it and turn it back in for full points. There are several things like a police officer ride along and a court room proceeding that you have to go to outside of class.

Bobbi is an awesome teacher, especially if this is the field you are studying. She is very knowledgeable about the subject matter. Be prepared to get out of your comfort zone, you do a lot of activities outside of class, including a ride-along with an officer. There is a lot of class work, but if you keep on top of it, it is an easy A.

You may have homework but the assignments are fun and you really learn a lot from each one. I loved the course. The professor was very helpful and gave good feedback.

Professor Kassel cares so much about her students. Service learning project and guest speakers give you opportunity to network. She has lots of real world experience working with Provo PD and victim advocate office. She can also help with advice on internships for victim advocate

Obviously, knowing proper grammar would help you get your assignments in on time without need for extensions. I enjoyed the class and the assignments followed straight-forward rubrics. Answers emails quickly. Highly recommended for CJ1010.

Bobbi was the best professor i've had at UVU. She gives great feedback, answers questions immediately and clearly outlines her expectations. There's quite a bit of work, reading and papers involved but there's also fun things like a ride along and attending a court procedure. If you're willing to put in the work, it's an amazing class.

Bobbi is the best teacher ever! I would take her again in a heart beat. This was a hybrid class so there was work outside of class. You had to usually write a 3-5 page paper a week, but they were very interesting topics to write about. There was a service learning project required too. I would take Bobbi for every class if I could.

I had Professor Bobbi for my Victimology class, she is awesome, and the service learning project that is required for this class is a really good choice to work and volunteer directly with victims of crime, participating in this project changed me and made me a better person, and now I would like to keep volunteering even if I am done with class.

Professor Kassel is very knowledgable in the material she is teaching. I loved this class, she's very respectful educator. This is also a sensitive course, by saying that we each know someone who has been a victim or we may of been a victim of some type of crime (whether its physical or monetary), this class will shed light on these types of crimes

I loved Professor Kassel. I took her class online, and it was pretty easy to keep up with. There was a 3-5 page paper due every Sunday and usually a discussion. It also involves a 20 hour service learning project (volunteering) which was beneficial and looks good on a resume. Definitely recommend.

Bobbi is amazing and this has by far been my most favorite online course to take. She really takes the time to give excellent feedback about assignments. I really enjoyed this course, as it is a combination of reading textbook material/practicing that material/a few quizzes but awesome out of class assignments! I would do it again, Bobbi is great!!

I had her for an online class instructor and whenever I had questions or faced any issues, she was always understanding and willing to help me get to where I needed to be. The class itself requires a lot of reading (if you do it online) but as long as you read and focus, the class is an easy A.

I've taken her for a few different classes and her class content is consistently good, but a lot of work. She is usually a lenient grader, but she does take off points for late work usually with no exception. Be ready to write a ton every week and participate in the 20 service learning (volunteering) project. It's one of the more intensive classes.

Professor Kassel was an amazing instructor even in the online setting. Not only was she great about grading on time, but always left helpful comments. Even if the project was small, such as reading a chapter, she always commented a "Great Job! Thanks!" The hands on learning aspect of the course was another great component of an awesome class!

i took bobbi for online and she was so amazing. responded to emails very quickly and was very nice and gave great feedback. this class provided us with so many amazing opportunities. there was a lot of hw, more than any of my other classes, but it's doable, just don't save it for the last minute.

I almost didn't take this class because it required a service learning project but I am glad that I did. It was really eye opening to be able to work with children victims, plus you get a certificate for completing it. Bobbi Is great at giving feedback and responding to emails. I would highly recommend taking this class!

Professor Kassel's Victimology class is an intimidating one at first. I dropped it the first time I registered.. I wanted an easy class. But I decided to register again and am glad I did. Yes, there is a lot of work and you are pushed out of your comfort zone, but Professor Kassel is very helpful and it's the perfect prep for future endeavors.

Bobbi is AMAZING! I have taken four courses from her and had an enjoyable experience every single time. She's dedicated to her students and wants to see them succeed. Bobbi is easily reachable and will work with you if you have issues. Her online classes are setup as the usual ones with a weekly discussion, assignment, and quiz. You'll learn a ton!

Professor Kassel is awesome! If you do all your assignments on time you will get an A! She always answers back to any emails and questions very quickly (Within a day) and always makes her assignments are super clear! She is super passionate about Criminal Justice and all of her assignments have a purpose instead of just busy work! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I love the class. Its an online class and you need to get the Connect online book. Some assignments are there and the rest is on canvas. I love how we can do different things and interviews it makes the class so much more interesting and you actually learn from people in the field.

This online CJ 1010 class was very enjoyable. The modules are designed very well. There are some assignments that may seem inconvenient, like attending a court proceeding, doing a police ride-a-long and an interview assignment. While this can be inconvenient I thought it took the class to a next level, especially for an online class.

Bobbi is truly the best professor. I am beyond thankful for her. I transferred here and this was my first semester. I came in as a junior. I got to have Bobbi in two classes this semester. She provided me with so many incredible opportunities. Yes, there is a lot of homework but that is to be expected in an upper level class. Love her.

The most important thing to know about this class is that it requires you to go out and do outside activities such as a going to a court hearing, going on a ride along with a police officer, and a third thing that I cannot remember. If you read the textbook and do your assignments this class will be a breeze, mostly a self teaching class.

Absolutely wonderful class. I love the way she uses an online textbook, flexible and was more then willing to work with missing a few assignments. Clear expectations and grading. Papers due but all 1-2 pages and on easy subjects.

USE APA FROM THE BEGINNING! I learned the hard way and had to redo my first paper (Cover Page). However, she is probably the most involved online teacher I've ever had. She commented on all my papers and made every assignment really interesting. There's some work involved in the class but it's worth it. Open to different opinions and really caring.

This class had quite a bit of assignments and papers, but I still really enjoyed it. A lot of the assignments are worthwhile. Her class/syllabus is super organized. She also gives great feedback on assignments, which always motivates me to do my best.

Professor Kassel was a great educator. There was a tonnnnnn of homework though. There is about 20 papers throughout the whole semester. Professor Kassel was amazing! I took her victimology class and absolutely loved it so much. She had assignments due every sunday and there were not difficult at all. There is a volunteer hours needed for this class but it is only 20 hours for the entire semester. As long as you do the work youll pass.

Professor Kassel is very responsive and clear with grading. Includes weekly reading, quizzes, discussions, and assignments (you can choose formatting). You will need to complete a 20-hour service learning project to assist victims to get an A, but I highly recommend completing it for the experience. You can earn a B without the project.

Loved taking this course from Professor Kassel, very responsive and gives good feedback. I highly recommend understanding how female criminality differs from the predominant male-oriented theories. I learned a lot in this class and would highly recommend it! Follow the schedule and turn in assignments on time and you'll get a good grade.

She talked with me about papers and future career options and was so helpful and caring and willing to put me in contact with other people who could help.

This was by far the best professor I have had, especially for my online courses. She gives clear assignments, and responds quick if you need help. She helps you expand your knowledge. As someone who gets nervous with essays, and has schooling anxiety, she always made me feel relaxed. I highly recommend her!

I cant say enough positive things about Bobbi and this course. Part of this class is the Service Learning Project. You will have to volunteer 20 hours with an organization that helps victims of crime. This is the most fulfilling project I have ever completed in an educational setting. The content of the course is great and it is set up very well.

I really liked Professor Kassel, she was a great professor and was really helpful At first I didn't love the idea if the required service project as apart of the course but after completing it I realized how beneficial it really is. 20 hours is not that many over the semester and you're helping the community, It also looks fantastic on resumes!!!

The professor was fair and easy to work with. They explained things well and knew how to work with us students. Don't be fooled by the level one difficulty. It had difficult aspects but Kassel knows how to help you get unstuck or clear up any difficult questions. She will have your back.

I took Victimology online with Professor Kassel and enjoyed it. The workload is manageable and allows you to apply textbook info to real-world circumstances. Prof. Kassel gives good feedback on assignments, is not a harsh grader, and is easily accessible if you need to reach out to her. I would definitely consider taking another class with her!
