nice guy but tests are only 8 problems and tricky questions are on it.

He's good, clear, and if you have questions he'll answer them. I've had him email me when I asked a question in class, without asking for additional responses. Tests are pretty hard, so its always good to take advantage of the extra credit he gives you.

Lets you go way early, but gives you a pop quiz almost everyday, but you can use notes, books, and work in groups, so it's not bad.

He's only 28, so he's young enough to still be cool with students. A good teacher, although he doesn't offer much help on the Excel labs. He's funny and kinda random at times. Stats is a hard class, but I actually kind of enjoyed myself.

this is a pretty tricky class, but he gladly answers your questions. he'll even explain stuff over and over if at first it doesn't seem clear. he's pretty patient and very calm when explaining stuff. quizzes are open book, open note, and open partner. homework is due before every exam, but don't let it pile up at the last minute!! so far, a great teacher.

Awesome teacher, answers all your questions, and lets you out early every day. There is an occasional quiz on fridays, so don't ditch class. He lets everyone talk and share answers on the quizzes, so no excuse not to ace everyone. The tests are anywhere from 5-12 problems and will be hard if you don't do all your homework.

Definitely the best math teacher I've ever had. He doesn't try to mock you or makes things extremely difficult. He just wants the people in the class to know the information. He kinda comes off as a little shy but he's approachable and is willing to help people understand the concepts.

B Augest is the best math teacher that i have had while at Las Po. i dont like the fact that he doesnt tell you what section he is doing the day of the notes...and he doesnt go by the book half the time. but he is a very good teacher, and if you have any questions in the class you can always go to him. i think he is very fair!

this is my 3rd time taking a stats class, and finally i passed. obviously he is doing something right. As like all math/stats classes, this subject is not easy, but bobby explains everything clearly and makes it easy to understand. BOBBY teaches statistics in a way that is easy to understand. i sat in on another stats teachers class and i was about to loose my mind! BUT like i said bobby makes learning stats easy and simple! however if you miss a class then your screwed and you have to do your own work! and trust me its not easy on your own!

sounds impossible, but bobby made math pretty damn easy.. almost fun! he breaks everything down for you to make it as simple as possible which helped me learn 90% of the material, and has no problem slowing down to help people out if they're having some trouble. i highly recommend taking his classes, i know i will.

Bobby is a great teacher. He is very respectful, personable and helpful. He never makes you feel stupid for asking a stupid question. Attendance not madatory, but you better go so as to not miss points on regular open book quizzes and labs. Mr. August is a really good instructor..Even thoe math is my hardest subject, and espically being in a statistics class; Mr. August made statistics a breeze.. I didn't think i was going to pass this class. I couldn't make it to every class because i played a sport a Chabot. I did all the labs and homework. The test were difficult but i passed. He founds your grade up at the end. I had a 66% and he rounded it up to a 71%.

I'm not a math person at all, but August made this class understandable even for me. The examples he gives in class are just like the problems on the test, the homework is a bit different but still doable. He's a nice guy and he never made me feel like an idiot for asking a stupid question. I wouldn't have passed this class if it wasn't for him.

Great teacher. Be sure to do well on your tests because those basically determine your grade in the class. Don't leave you're homework last minute. Listen to his lectures/take notes because he explains way better than the book does and you get to use a flashcard or sheet of paper of notes on the test. I learned a lot from this class.

Syllabus and his expectations are organized clearly. Stay current with work, don't procrastinate. Do practice exams, in class are very similar. Teacher is very available by email, difficult to get in person help if you're in hybrid course, especially if you work during daytime hours. Wish he had regular office hours posted.

Hybrid class with shorter lecture time, so he teaches fast. Don't miss class! Knows his stuff and explains it well. Very approachable and willing to help. Practice tests accurately reflect exams so you know what to expect. I highly recommend him for Statisics class.

He is a great teacher and very thorough in his lectures. HOWEVER, he is an EXTREMELY hard grader on tests!!! It's really frustrating when you spend a ton of time studying for the exams and it doesn't even pay off because his grading techniques are so strict. I recommend a different teacher for 44 if you actually want a good grade.

This is the ideal way to take a math class. You watch per-recorded lectures at your leisure sometime before class, then show up for in class work and leave. No surprises on exams as they are exactly like the practice ones. Even offers some extra credit. Very helpful and when you have a question, and will help you succeed. This guy is awesome.

I am currently taking his hybrid online math 42 course. It is a lot of work and you basically show up to class once every week to do board problems and turn in work. Every four weeks or so, there is an exam (3 exams plus the final)...the rest is completed outside of class. Stay on top of your online work (and homework!) and you should do fine.

I'm taking the online course in the summer and if you have a summer job, quit. There are a lot of problems (frankly too many) for his online work and you have to stay on top of them. It seems like the assignments get longer and longer so procrastination is not ideal for his class.

He simplified the math, your homework was to watch your lectures, and class time was to work on what normally would be your homework. I perferred this because if I needed help with a problem he could help. And of course whatever you didn't finish in class you finished at home. Personally I wish more teachers taught this way.

This class was taught differently than any other math class. You watch the lecture videos online BEFORE coming to class, and do problems about the lecture during class time. It's almost like reversing homework and class work. Awesome teacher and will let you make up missed work/tests. Cheat sheets allowed on every test including the final!

Watch lecture videos before class and try not to not get behind! He is very kind and will help you even if you're not ready to take a test yet. He allows a sheet of notes for tests to remember formulas which is extremely helpful. Practice tests are also very helpful and worth points!

I was worried about taking stats, but it ended up being a class I enjoyed. It helped that you can work with everyone in class on the assignments and quizzes (minus tests). Having the lectures online helped a lot since you can then go at your own pace. Only thing was lecture/HW at home was a bit hard if taking a lot of classes, but still manageable.

Bobby was a helpful teacher. Answered everyone's questions and made stats quite easy. He simplified everything and made it all understandable. Text books like to make things confusing, but Bobby's online lectures trim the fat off nicely. Easily one of the best Math teachers. He has us watch the lectures online and home and do the work in class. For me this is great because i prefer independent work when it comes to math. His lectures explain everything very clearly and you can watch them as many times as you need to understand the concepts. And of you like your grade you don't have to take the final!! Would take again.

I had Bobby for Math 55 and he taught me more in the first few days than my entire Math 65 class. He has the ability to break every problem down into simple steps. If you follow them, you will succeed! You have to watch the lectures though! Some students didn't even bother watching the lectures and they either dropped or didn't pass.

Bobby was a great professor for math 65 in summer 2017. My favorite was the online lectures. There was a decent amount of homework, and only 3-4 exams. Discussion boards and labs were really easy. I would take him again for 55 next time. Although he is a little lazy when it comes to grading. Solid choice in my opinion

I messed up by taking the online course. Bobby is INCREDIBLE.. very caring and a genuine person. I was lazy, didn't do my work or study, and didn't take advantage of his office hours. If you can learn stats from your computer (he posts online lectures), take this class. Just be sure to manage your time and ask for help when you need it.

Took the hybrid class and managed to get a B without doing the extra credit. Pay attention during the lectures and make sure you know how to do all the example problems. My biggest regret is not doing the homework (which is all extra credit) because if I did I would've done better on the tests and could've gotten an A.

Truly a genuine guy. I remember when he posted that a group of individuals had forgotten to put their names on their homework, and let people know that they can come in to claim their homework.(Typically college doesn't work like that). Extra credit NEEDS TO BE DONE. Exams can be bit hard, but if you do all the work(including homework) you're good.

One of the best math professors at Las Po. This is coming from a student that dropped out of AP Stat in high school. Bobby's HYBRID class is SO EASY that you can do the work on your own time. Coming from a student who never got a long with numbers since day 1, Bobby's hybrid class is just exceptional. You're on your own pace, extra credit opportunities, he's just straight up to the point with everything. There is no reason that you'll not get an A as long as you work your end. This is the math professor to take. He does not only grade off of tests. Homework is counted plus discussion question for helping each other out and fun lab papers that also count towards your grade. Took math 40 online last summer and coming from someone who struggled with math all my life, this was the easiest math class I've ever taken. Bobby makes the clearest online lectures and everything in his videos are covered on the exams and homework. You are allowed notes during exams and as long as you're a good note taker, exams are an easy A.

I took Math 40 online/hybrid. We only came in to take exams. Everything else was done on Canvas. I really liked his class. The modules made sense - great lectures with homework and quizzes to test if you are understanding the material. Sometimes the Excel labs were a little bit confusing but Bobby was very prompt with email help and support!

I took Bobby's Online Stats class this past Summer and the whole class was done in 8 weeks. I think the normal semester is 17 weeks? Anyway, long story short, I got a 99% average. The class was great and I recommend Bobby to all my friends that still need Stats.

Prof August is great. He met with me many times over the semester online through Canvas to answer all my questions. I came to campus a few times for office hours. He answered emails faster than any prof I've ever had. I had a B the whole semester and if you're happy with your grade, you get to skip the final. It takes work but amazing class!

Bobby is a great teacher. However, his tests were not very similar to the practice tests and homework. He gave us our tests on the computer and so if you missed the question, there would be no partial credit. He does offer a lot of extra credit though which makes his class passable as long as you keep up with everything.

This class had the best format for an online class that I have taken at LPC. He gives assignment feedback and responds to emails really quickly. Video lectures from YouTube, weekly assignments, 4 online exams using Proctorio, optional final exam, and lots of extra credit opportunities. Very easy class if you put in a little bit of work each week.

Exams are tough, but the professor is awesome and very helpful. Would recommend this class to anyone, but it will take consistency and hard work.

Prof. August was an awesome! Super clear grading criteria, nothing was weighted, 4 exams (not comprehensive), and tons of extra credit opportunities. And the final was optional! He had really easy to follow lectures, it was obvious that he knows what he's talking about and isn't just reading off of the (optional) textbook. Totally recommend!

Bobby is a great teacher. He helped me so much in emails/office hours. I took stats last semester and had to withdraw but with Bobby I got an A-.

I failed stats twice and this was my last chance...Professor August rounded me up to a C. Now I can graduate and never take math again lol His labs were EZ, hw is pretty chill, the quizzes similar to the hw. tests are not easy, you need to study a lot for them. he also has discussion boards - those are super easy.

Professor August has great lectures. They are short and to the point. They teach you how to do all the problems in the class without any filler. Watch and review the lectures and don't get behind!

Professor August is really good at explaining concepts. I loved the structure of his lectures as he provides examples of all the types of questions that appear on the tests. As long as you take good notes from the lectures and practice, there are no big surprises on the exams. Homework and quizzes also helped to get more practice for the exams.

Tough exams, but Prof. August is great - very helpful and clear. Take advantage of the optional final and use Unstuck ai for prep. With consistency, you can do well.

I thought this class was very clear. The lectures are filmed in an actual classroom setting so it made it feel like I was actually in class. Every week there's 2-3 30min lectures, a 20 question homework, a video feedback assignment , a quiz, a lab, and a discussion. Be ready to spend some time on this class every week, but honestly it isn't hard.

Even in an online class, his lectures are very detailed and tell you exactly what you need to know. Follow along while he's doing his practice problems, they are extremely helpful. The problems he puts on the homework are also very similar to what you see on exams. Pay attention + take notes during lectures and you'l be fine.

Great teacher, very organized online course. Make sure to do all the labs, quizzes, hw, etc. and extra credits. I didn't do well on the exams and still got an A.

Professor August is a great teacher. His lectures are easy to follow and you can always rewatch them. He's very laidback and friendly and will answer everyone's questions. So glad I took him for stats.

Bobby was by far the best professor I have had at Las Positas. He isn't lecture-heavy and will help you understand what you are working on. I would trust him with my firstborn child if I could.... matter of fact, I will be naming my first born child after proffesor Bobby.
