this teacher doesnt teach all he does is gives a bunch of homework and doesnt teach anything
Fun teacher that is not easy but will work with as much as you ask.
He is a ok teacher very understanding will try to help you out if you need him. His class is somewhat easy, but hard to understand
He makes the class fun which is always a plus when it comes to picking classes. He is very down to earth and I think a lot of people like him.
Not so easy, but helped me understand problems I had.
i think he is a great professor.....he tries his best to help students to pass the class...i dont think he was that bad.....i would recommend him though.
Best teacher at this school...hes real down to earth and keeps it real... teachs when it is need to be done and we just chill most of the other times but overall hes a really good teacher.."60s forever"
I passed and didn't think I would. P. Warren helped me to pass though...I would take him again.
Really good teacher..he is the man with all those classic jackets he owns valencia..you will love his class if you take it
he is the man!!!! he's madd cool and very understanding and helpful. i passed the class and missed alot of days. im taking him for comp 1
I would have failed without his help...cool and esy to talk to...tryint to get his comp 1 class too.
This fukkin teacher is the****. Very down to earth and he makes learning very fun.
he was a cool teacher he made class fun and was very easy to talk to plus his clothes were alwsys fun!
His ideas are a little out there but it was very interesting to hear what he had to say. He's one of those teachers that want you to learn something outside of the books. Very funny, I might add, but you have to listen for it.
He is the only professor at Valencia, so far, that has shown any real interest in my work or me as a person. I would take him again, no question.
Prof. Warren. Very Intellegent. Lenient although tuff. He'll stretch you, but he'll help you. Gives adequate time outside of class if you need it. Not too rigid - flexible. Allows you to improve on grade if you are willing to work on it. Very resourceful. Genuinely cares for students. You will do well in his class if you put forth effort!
Mr.Bob is a very great Prof. i will encourage anyone to take his classes because he is very knowledgeable and very undertandable. He really knows what is doing. He personally helped me found myself. I was lost and confused he led me the right way.
He was REALLY good.. i liked his class b/c instead of being the typical boring english class, it felt more like a psychology class b/c he made us think bout things worth thinking about. He knows his stuff REALLY good. I truly enjoyed my time there n would've taken him 4 Comp1 had i known bout him. I honestly recommend taking him. :)
Professor Warren had been a friendly and helpful the whole time. Though the assignments were challenging sometimes, he was willing to help us out outside of class. Just to make sure we were on the right track. I got an "A" this spring in his class.
Great proffesor. Very helpful and fun. Class is never boring. He is very funny. Take this class
TAKE HIS CLASS!!!! He is the best Comp. II teacher!!! I got an "A" for the spring semester course I took. He is very helpful and a very down to earth kinda guy.
Professor Warren is one of the greatest instructors I’ve encountered. He is not only fun but while making you enjoying the class he also challenges your mind and ideas and if you give him a chance he will help you become better not only in the subject but in the way you approach life. IN shotter word. HES THE BEST THERE IS.
Good teacher but my is lazyness reflected in the grade that I got. Intresting class not ur ordinary english teacher. Just do the work and everything will take care of itslef. You might get mad at him the first couple of times he grades your paper but he will tell you how to improve your papers. one word of advise dont pick a hard research topic
A GREAT PROFESSOR (and not cause i got an A). Steers away from the typical approach of a comp teacher, makes the class interesting by adding elements of philosophy. I had no intrest in literature, and Prof. Warren made me understand why it is important and why we study it in college. GREAT PROFESSOR
Prof. Warren was awesome!!!! he challenged you every day to think outside the box and really taught me how to analyze literature!! He is funny too AND he likes good music!! One of my favorite classes!!!
He really cares about the students. He gives us life lessons also. He is a really good teacher, but can be a difficult teacher once the year goes on.
Professor Warren was really nice. We always go into discussion about the literature and he clearly explained everything. He was easy-going and fun. Take him if you're taking comp II
Prof. Warren is great. He challenges your thoughts & makes you really think about literature. He really stressed finding the deeper, philisophical meaning to writings & wants his students to do well. His theories & discussions are great too. One of my favorite teachers. No final & no quizzes, just essays to write & prep for state competency test.
He is the man best teacher at Kirkman High school..makes you really think and hes very understandable hes a good guy too and i believe he is single ladies so yall better holla at him but anyway hes a good guy I took him for COMP2 and i have an A right now easy class easier teacher
Very easy teacher. Makes class fun, only thing you have to do is write essays to prepare for state comp.
I wouldn't say that Mr. Warren was easy exactly, but it was my favorite class last semester, and I don't like English. He respects his students, and made time to talk to me when I needed it. His class seems easy if you do the work, but he challenges your writing. I actually feel like I can write, where in the past I was not confident.
very good teacher; extremly fair;lets you write about anything you want, with a few restrictions; i would defanetly recommend..only english teacher i would take..
Professor Warren will make you think and challenge you to be original. Basically your whole grade rests on one 2500 word research paper that you have the whole semester to write. Paper can be on anything u desire relating to Lit. Mr. Warren is very helpful and extremely fair. Not a lot of structure though, but an easy A for students who try.
This is an amazing professor. You should take any class you possibly can with him. Fascinating, insightful, very chill. He wants you to earn an A, so unless you don't know how to read, think, and type, you will be fine. You wil learn useful knowledge that will remain with you and you'll enjoy the class. He should be teaching at a higher level schoo
TERRIBLE HUMANITIES TEACHER!!! HE TRYS TO CHALLENGE EVERYONES RELIGON IN THE CLASS. YOU WILL LEARN NOTHING. tHIS IS AN INTRO CLASS AND ALL HE TALKED ABOUT HIS DISBELIEF IN RELIGON AND HIS BELIEF IN PHILOSOPHY.YOU WILL BE WASTING YOUR TIME AND YOUR MONEY BY TAKING BOBBY G. WARREN!!!!!
Whoa!!! I didn't come on here to respond to other students, but the the last rating is obviously the rantings of a complete dolt. Professor Warren challenges preconceived notions and assumptions, which leads to discussions of religion and philosophy, but he never once attacked belief in the class AT ALL. Don't listen to that nonsense. He rocks.
Greatest professor at valencia. He will challenge your mind and views of many things in life. He never once trys to "force" you to beleive what he is saying he is just givin you another view on that subject. By far the best professor I have ever had he is a great person to get to kno and will help as much as he can.
I had professor Warren, and due to family issues thought I was going to fail. he spent hours of his own time to help me through and get my work done, making sure I passed. He went way out of his way to help, and is easily one of the best professors at Valencia.
Professor Warren challenged things I believed to be true, but not to say I was wrong. In his class it about defending your opinon with knowledge, and some students don't like that, but personally it has helped me by leaps and bounds in my other classes. Also, I learned things about architecture as metaphor that reinvigerated my own interests. Grea
Great professor, and he has a soft spot for rock and roll. Can get a little deep, but explains himself well. Not a guy I would think would be a professor, but is the most intelligent person I have ever talked too. I loved his class, and though you don't want to cross him by being disrespectful or talking out of turn, he is very cool.
At first I didn't like Prof. Warren, I thought he was weird and disorganized.. then I got my first paper back from him. This guy takes the time to read every single paper and comment on the content, not just the grammer. He actually writes positive feedback, who knew? Anyway, he's about the smartest guy Valencia's got and he's totally hot.
This class was a waste of time. Very unorganized. He expects students to come up with topics to speak about and literally threats quizes if you don't. My suggestion to him would be for himself to come up with topics and ask the class questions which would spark conversation. He asigns readings and you get the impression he hasn't read them in years
The class was pretty easy but boring.. ALOT of class discussions and participation is expected. Always offers extra help if needed. And grades papers according to your last english class since there's no prerequisite.
AMAZING TEACHER!!!he makes going to class excting AND educational and is just an awesome guy!!!
Ideas Professor Warren brought up are still floating in my head and making me think about why I am who I am.I understand why people say his class was unorganized(unflective students I would say),but he states at the very beginning that he will use uncertainty as a way to force us to connect the dots, and I personally loved his class.
His class is kinda of boring. However, his class was good. It's an easy A if you do all that he requires, and you must attend class.
I was told I would enjoy the class, and I did.I am reading a book he mentioned, which is amazing: Cosmic Trigger by R.A.Wilson.I don't think you need to listen to people about his class being boring. They probably didn't want to be there anyway.I spent three hours in his office talking about general ideas of mine, nothing about class either.100% real
This class was easy because he expected us to do everything in terms of there were no tests and we had to make up our own essay topics. All we did was watch movies and write essays, which is ok with me. If you want an easy grade and be bored all semester, then pick him.
EASY!!! I did not read a single page of the book....wrote only based on the things we discussed in class which are very interesting and I got an "A." You just have to participate and put the least amount of effort into writing very few papers.
Kind of boring but really easy. If anything you may want to briefly read the chapters because you might take a small quiz. You have to write some papers but on your choice of topic. There is no FINAL just a research paper. He kind of rambles about nothing sometimes and has a monotone voice but if you can keep up its not always bad.
Great class to be in. When you first attend the class you might not like it depends on your point of view but my advice is "STAY IN CLASS!!" This class is a MUST
Professor Warren made my head spin. He is a great professor who does not water down his ideas. He doesn't under estimate his students and completely speaks his philophical ideas in full detail. I loved every minute of the class. He showed documentaries about Bob Dylan, Daniel Johnston and a movie called Ghost Dog with Forest Witiker. Amazing guy.
So very boring and useless. He didn't teach a single thing, very disorganized. Would assign readings, and we never discussed what I did read so I gave up. He mentioned several things that he wanted to discuss and never did. Monotonous voice, rambles on off topic. I'm not a stupid person, but I didn't understand a thing he said all semester!
The class was easy but boring. He was a nice guy and even cool... but he taught more of humanties and philosphy but i don't think there was much to cover in Comp 2 besides the research paper. The class is easy but extremly boring.
I think these idiots that say that his class is boring, or that he is not conprehensible are simply not there to learn. I found the class fascinating. He didn't always talk about what we read, but he assumed we had read it so we could talk about how to understand what it was we were reading. Best professor I have ever had.
I learned more about what some call the "meaning of life" in this class than I thought possible. I don't understand why students found him boring. He talked to me for four hours one day after class about a question I had, dragging out books, and drawing diagrams...the guy is brilliant.
DEEP...ok, but not hard as far as tests go, but he repected my ideas. The ONLY professor that sat down and tried to help me express my ideas better. I loved his class, his heart, and his methods. He is not like other professors, but BORING, only if you have no imagination. Some people just suck. Professor Warren is the best, and he cares!!
Thanks to this class I now read novels and watch movies and see meaning hiding behind the obvious, both in rituals, like eating, movies, and simply understanding commercials. The world of language is full of stories that tell about the society in which I live, and I loved his class because it opened up my mind like no other class I have ever taken
he was ok. hes big on particapation!and he grades papers very easy. but the class is very BORING!!! he knows his stuff though. i passed with an A. if u can get through the bordum then ur good
I liked the class a lot, but I think it would depend on the type of person you are. If you like ideas and thinking, it is good; if you like a class that is mainly lecture, quizes and you mostly sit there, then this is not the teach for you. I thought it was great.
I loved the class.I saw some mind-blowing movies, which i never would have seen before, and I totally understand why he showed them.He talked to me,he helped me,and is about as intelligent a professor as i have had yet.Friends are taking his class as I highly suggest you take one of his classes.Beware, he isn't for everyone, but I LOVED IT> A+++
I knew going in,after reading these reviews, that the class may be boring, but that everyone else liked him, so I took him....GOOD LORD, I liked the class. He teaches concepts I took with me, asked questions i am still thinking about.I changed my career goal to teach because of this guy.Boring...only if your a one-celled ameoba.ROCK ON FOREVER!!!
HE IS THE DEFINITION OF THAT DUDE
possibly the best professor you will ever have. truly acknowledges the importance of understanding the material on a personal level. i would recommend his classes to anyone and everyone.
Even though some of this class didn't excite me, he knew how to make it interesting. Participation is a must, so if you read the readings and come prepared you shouldn't have a problem. He's cool.
An awesome professor!! One of the best I have had! Only about three or four papers and he gives you freedom on what you can write about! Very easy if you just do the work, and there is not a lot. Most of the class is discussion and videos to make it more interesting. Great Class! Would Recommend!
The most boring class I have ever taken. Warren is a nice guy, he is funny and seems like he cares about our learning experience. He's just not a good professor, his tone is so low I could barely understand what he was saying most of the time. He was never clear on what he expected us to write about. I didn't learn anything at all!No structure what
I took him for a semester of summer and all we really did was talk about world issues and discuss stuff as a group. We only had reading assignments and the final was a 3 page paper. it was really cool and he seems to know whats hes talking about. its hard to hear him tho
Has a very different teaching style than any other teacher i have had before. The class wasn't hard. You read lots of short stories and write a few papers. None which are all that difficult. Had fun in his class. I recommend him!
I had mythology some time ago and didn't get around to rating Professor Warren. I am not sure he is easy, but the class isn't hard either. The actual work is in openly thinking. To say one learns nothing and his class is boring is completely ridiculous. That person probably just didn't understand the class. FANTASTIC PROFESSOR!!!
he has got to be the worse professor i think i've ever had. it is extremely hard to get a hold of him and if you need help or have any questions about the assignments, your better off dropping the class. it sucks.
Boring, arrogant, and unprofessional. You won't learn anything. Plays a lot of movies, talks about himself a lot and is generally pretty creepy. On the upside, it's an easy A.
This professor is awesome. All of his assignments are easy papers (I wrote about Zelda and Zombies) and you just have to take notes and read to know what's going on. He has a dry sense of humor, and he's monotone, but if you pay attention to what he says, its funny and not boring so it's no big deal he's monotonous haha
I have to say that people on here that think that the class was useless are themselves more than likely useless. Prof. Warren was not only easy to get a hold of, he spent a lot of time with me helping me figure out some ideas. The idea that he was not prepared is ridiculous. He knows more than any professor I have ever taken, and he is funny.
It's impressive how some people prettend to go into a class and be given everything in a silver plate, with no effort whatsoever. Prof. Warren is top notch, he is very resourcefull and helpfull, and he is an encyclopedia of knowledge. He does speak a bit lower than usual, but that just means that you need to pay more attention. Easy class, great Pro
VERY EASY!
Easy + Extremely Boring = Pointless... Arrogant, talks a lot... There's no way you can fail his class though. The key is to participate on the class discussions and do the homework. Easy A but do your best to not fall asleep!
He is very interesting. Me and my brother took his mythology class and at first I thought it was going to be hard but that's just what he says on the first day of class. The class isn't just about Greek and Roman but everything about mythology. If you like stories you will like this class.
Excellent.Cares for students, passionate, teaches things of value.Cares about your IDEAS.Professors like this help fix our ed system.Topics may be hard to deal with, butyouwillfindnew meaningsinlife.Come with the intent to learn(not fed ideas, but observe many/often opposing viewpoints and realize stronger truths in your own life)& youshould get an A.
Professor Warren is a great Humanities professor! Lets you have freedom when writing a paper and gives useful comments. Mythology isn't easy to understand and not my forte, but he makes it interesting with his stories and videos. I have taken him twice and been happy both times.
EASY, i would take again. All grades are based off papers. assigns h/w to read and talks abt it in class, and gets sngry when noone reads, but generally you can follow in class &participate w-o reading.doesn't take points off for late work,he grades papers and gives back for redues if your not happy w-grade,but he grades easy. lecures are boring
Go to every class and turn in every paper. If you do this, you will get an A. However, sitting through the class is mind numbing. The professor is obviously an elitist who likes to hear the sound of his own voice. You'll have to endure his dribble week after week. He also gets butt-hurt when he realizes no one cares. But hey, it's an A!
Proffesor Warren was great teacher, I wouldn't call him an elitist, but he does have a trong opinion on certain issues. Just skim the pages and do the very easy papers and there is no reason you shouldn't get an A.
I loved this teacher. I thought he was super interesting and he actually made me interested in the topic. As long as you right the papers, youll get an A. I loved his class and I'll definitely take him for my next humanities class if possible.
dont call him bobby only bob lol! and all else will go good for u read do papers particpate in class
The class is extremely boring. He assigns alot of readings but I didn't do not even one and still manage to receive an A, just write down the notes and u'll do good, go to class cuz that will help even if u tend to fall asleep =] the class is somewhat interesting just his lectures are really boring.
Do not even bother with this class. His lectures are boring and often go out into tangents that have nothing to do with what we are studying. He gives you less then a weeks notice to write your final and he has awful communication skills. It's nearly impossible to get a response from him through email and he is never in his office
Mythology class, regardless to what people are saying, did focus on mythology. He did not only let atheist talk he just prefers that if someone is going to state their opinion then they should have the evidence to back up what they are saying. Most "Theist" do not have proper evidence because their opinion is based on "faith." Fun Class. Bravo!
An easy A, but likes to hear his own voice. Mind numbing, long lectures. doesn't let you talk, but an easy A. he doesn't fail anybody.
I know and love professor Warren. He really cares about expanding thinking. I talked to him in his office one day about my paper.I asked him if he was an athesit,to which he replied,"no I am not, but it doesn't matter." The video was Dan Dennett, an atheist, but it was to show how strains of David Humes naturalistic philosophy are still active.
I took Mythology and Romanticism / Enlightenment by Prof Warren. I was very entertained in the class as I'm the kind of person that can watch anything on the Discovery Channel and not get board. Yes he does talk a lot and yes there subjects that cover different religions but he goes over them "Academically." Take his class with an open mind.
His essay's are really easy, so getting an A in the class isn't hard. The only downside is that he doesn't teach the subject well, talks in a very soft monotone voice that puts you to sleep, and he goes off in several tangents and never answers your questions that you ask. I still recommend him though for an easy A.
As the man says, tell him to speak up if he gets hard to hear...he is missing an eardrum from his rock and roll days. He is not the teacher for you if you want to be spoonfed...he teaches critical thinking with a focus on academic thinking, and discussion, which I love. He drifts into many subjects, but there is method to the madness!!
He Is A Nice guy Not a Bad teacher. Very intellectual but the class is just boring, All you Do is watch documentaries and listen to him talk. But His papers are pretty easy and hes not a strict grader. I'd recommend the class just maybe not at night. zzzz
Nice guy, really boring class. Focuses on the deep expanded thinking, if you are going to take him, just don't take the three hour night class, you will stay in class till the very last second of class.
very easy A! class could get boring sometimes, specially if you take it at night! but he's awesome teacher and one of the smartest persons i've met!
Great guy! Great professor! I would defiantly take him agin. He assigns many small readings and/or shows small videos but writing assignments are very clear and understanding. :D TAKE HIM!!!
One of the most intellectual professors I've ever had. I really enjoyed his Enlightenment class and I am getting ready to take Mythology with him. If you like to read and then have intelligent discussions in class, he is your kind of guy. Always very well dressed and soft spoken. Very classy.
Extremely intelligent professor! But unfortunately I took him at night 3 hours class, that was my big mistake. His lectures and doc. movies are boring, but some of them was interesting.A great professor for people who love humanities and like to talk about it.
He is the best professor around campus!!! TAKE HIS CLASS. I LEARNED ALOT FROM HIM. WE WATCHED VIDEOS AND WRITE ESSAYS, AND HAVE GREAT DISCUSSION ABOUT THE 20TH CENTURY. He makes me feel more educated. Thanks Professor Warren!!!
I hated this class. It is extremely boring. The professor is harsh. All you do is write essays and go to class to hear him talk. He is very rude in his grading. If you don't discuss in the class he gets very angry. The readings are very hard. Overall, horrible experience.
Can be easy if you PARTICIPATE. READ READ READ. If you're not into class discussions do not take this class. If you're going to be late, skip class because he will get very angry. The only assignments are 4 essays throughout the course, they're pretty straight-forward. He can go on a power trip sometimes when he gets mad, just avoid eye contact.
I somehow managed to get an A in this class, but it wasn't easy. Literally all you do while in class is listen to him talk for an hour. He's rude, dry, and angry and for some reason and tries to embarrass students when he doesn't agree with them. His feedback on your papers are also rude and not helpful. I did not enjoy this class or this professor
Took his class on campus. He does talk, a LOT, but he encourages you to engage him with your thoughts. The material is rather boring, but I don't blame him for that. I got an A, and was a little surprised; I'd say he's a fairly easy grader. Show up to class, do the little amount of required work, and you should be fine. Nice guy, recommended.
Easy- but his class is so damn boring, I fell asleep for every class but still got an A- b/c i did well on my papers. If your not good @ writing papers don't take this class b/c thats all this class is based on grade wise.He makes you participate a lot Don't like talking in class? Don't take him. Lots of reading. Overall easy class but VERY BORING!
Excellent professor- explains clearly and thoroughly. Shows genuine interest in helping students learn and understand everything. Uses different materials and activities to help students grasp the key ideas (videos, reading, class discussions...). He is also very funny and easygoing. He allows students to rewrite papers when needed. Grades fairly.
Does not like when you interrupt him, very nice overall, essays pretty fair, and discussions are a must!
Good overall.
He believes in the socratic method of teaching. He won't quiz you on things or make you memorize stuff rather, he challenges you to use your own understanding and pay attention. Take part in the discussions and you won't have very much work at all. If you don't seem to be paying attention he gives you more work. Awesome person.
Boring professor...like he will really put you to sleep. He has no excitement in his voice and you will watch super boring movies. But as long as you read the stories and take notes from the PowerPoint you will be good. Easy but boring...
really boring class, had nothing to do with any type of Greek mythology. He spends most of the time talking and hardly any amount of time discuss important topics for our essays. I would not recommend this teacher much less this course
I don't know why anyone would complain about not dealing with Greek myth since its an introduction to all myth. The class made me think and I liked the intellectual climate Professor Warren creates. He doesn't spoon feed, so if you want to lap up some memorization and get gently walked through everything, probably not the class you want to take.
Prof Warren is soft spoke and has a dry approach, but actually I thought he was very funny most of the time. I enjoyed the class and the discussion. If your into the class, it is a great experience. If you just want to sit there, not talk, not try to get into the subject, of course you will not like it so much. I was very happy with the class.
I can't decide whether I would recommend this class or not. I'm very tolerant of boring classes as long as they're easy, but there are a lot of historical documentaries shown in this class. The only grades were essays, which makes for a light work load. Warren has a dry approach to teaching but he's very nice and is funny in his own way.
Watch a documentary almost every class. Expected homework: read 10-15 essays, 2 graphic guide books, Candide, 15-20 poems; watch 6 hours of video (3 on atheism and 3 on romanticism); and to write 2 essays, 10 short responses. Grades harshly and subjectively, but there is opportunity for redemption. Focus on faith vs. reason and transcendence.
Be prepared to listen to a lecture 98% of the time while taking this class. Yes, it does become a drag, but if you actually READ what is assigned, you will enjoy having discussions on the topic. Four main writing assignments, not a lot of additional assignments. The books are a must!
Easy Grade. We had two big essays, one short answer, and the final was another short answer. He lets you re-write your papers for a better grade. The essays take some work though. He requires a lot of books for the class, and the material is extremely dry. However, most of the class is discussions, which can keep you entertained. I recommend him.
He is really knows what he is talking about and seems very interested with the material. However, he is very and I mean very boring. I took him over the summer and found it very difficult to be interested in anything he was talking about. All we did was read and then discusss the reading. There were two essays which were easy because he let redo.
He is very well read and knowledgeable. If you seem interested in the topic, ask questions, & show interest he will like you. His approach to teaching is very dry, just lecturing and showing parts of documentaries. He is very anal about cell phones and sleeping in class. He can seem rude at times. His explanations are so smart, they're confusing.
Prof. Warren is a good professor, but his classes are really boring. You mostly discuss the readings and watch old Joseph Campbell documentaries. Don't use your phone or talk in class - super anal about that. No tests, 3 papers that have a 4 page minimum. Lets you rewrite the first two papers. DO THE READING.
He's laid back but won't tolerate disrespect (sleeping, phone use, etc). If you're unclear about something, he'll explain as much as you need to comprehend. He's nice but he can be stern. You'll read your books at home and talk about them in class (though he's the one talking mostly). Just read, do your work like he asks, and you'll an get an A :)
I didn't know what to expect when I took this class, but though some students were not sure what to think of Professor Warren, he was my favorite professor I have had at this school so far. Helped me with information that helped me think for myself. I enjoyed it.
I expected Greek mythology, but we got into a variety of myths. The class is less about the stories themselves and more about why we tell myth and what we hold in common as human beings, which I really liked better once I figured out where we were going.
Harsh on grading. Papers are long and lectures are extremely boring. Assigns a lot of books related to subjects, expect a lot of reading during the weekend. Somewhat helpful. Let's you rewrite papers that you didn't do too well, but it doesn't change much. He expects students to be professional writers and think like philpsophers. Not reccomended.
Very unclear. Rude. If you're a religious person don't take him, he's offensive. Tough grader, doesn't want to hear your opinion when you're writing a paper. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone. I hated every second of that class. Too bad humanities is a required class. It's a waste of money, especially if you take it with this guy.
would not recommend
I found this class to be a great introduction to ideas that I never really thought about before. I didn't have much interest in the subject matter at first, but as the class developed I became so interested I started looking up information on my own. I loved it.
I'm smarter from taking his class. Here is your chance to hang out with a real scholar. We read treatises from the period & discussed them as a group. My writing improved & I still use his worksheets for writing essays in my new courses. Definitely, no "busywork". Felt respected. He & many students stayed after class to continue the discussion.
Very interesting class; I loved the challenging ideas and concepts. If you are smart you will love professor Warren. He will give you feedback in anything you ask and give you multiple chances to re-write your essays.
What a fantastic professor. Highly intellectual, very well read, and a kind person. Professor Warren is what some of us expected to find when enrolling in college but far too often do not; he is a person that encourages critical thought, debate, and has a vast wealth of scholarly knowledge he shares with students. Amazing and analytical class.
If you want an easy A don't take Prof. Warren. That being said, he is SUPER SWEET, funny, smart, cool, and really passionate about what he teaches. This class can be hard at times but there is no busy work whats so ever, ONLY ESSAYS. He requires you read a bunch of essays and be able to discuss them in class but that's it.
Professor Warren is a phenomenal teacher, I was extremely impressed by his knowledge and likeability. I recommend him to anyone taking a Humanities course, and I will certainly be taking more of the courses he teaches.
Prof. Warren is an awesome professor! He assigns a few essays throughout the semester and they are pretty extensive and his explanations over email can be pretty confusing, but he will clarify anything you need in person should you ask and as long as you attend class, keep up with the readings, you'll be fine. I definitely recommend!
He is great, but the class in general is dreadful and boring. His grading is based on essays. He is clear on what he wants and expects you to write about. THERE IS A LOT OF READING.
Prof. Warren is an awesome professor that I would recommend to anyone looking to take a mythology class. The majority of the work is 2 essays that will make up the bulk of your grade, these are easily accomplished if you don't procrastinate. The class can be dry at times, but Prof. Warren adds jokes and stories to make it enjoyable.
4 Assignments: 2 Essays that can be rewritten, questions on book, and a Final Assgn. I really enjoyed his lectures. They aren't always on topic, but I have a better understanding of the world because of this class. Take notes on his lectures and documentaries, essays become so much easier to write. Focuses on philosophy, religion, and art.
Regret taking him!! Very tough grader, you'll be surprised at your grade thinking you did great on a paper. He should definitely be your LAST RESORT!! If you take him good luck.
Read the textbook and pay attention in class and you'll pass. 2 essays a 5 page paper and a 3 three page paper plus 2 in class assignments are what the grade consisted of. Show up to class and don't fall asleep.
One of the best professors I have ever had! So helpful, gives you all the material you need to succeed and the class is easy. I got an A and we only had to write 2 essays throughout the entire semester. I learned so much and enjoyed his class, he makes discussions fun and really cares about students. He will help you understand things. Take him!!!
4 essays and participation/attendance are the only things that make up your grade. The essays aren't difficult if you do the reading, pay attention, and ask questions. You NEED to read in order to understand lectures and to write the essays. You also are able to rewrite 3 out of the 4 essays for a better grade.
He is a good professor, gives clear feedback and will let you rewrite your essays. His assignments are very well explained and you will know what he expects of you. Not an easy A, you have to show you understand the content. However, he does ramble and mumble in class a lot, if you get distracted/daydream for a few seconds you will get lost
Cool guy, he's kind of a hippie. If you are just looking for a relatively simple class where you just get an easy A this is a great class to take, but if you want to be engaged and entertained the whole time this isn't for you. He plays a lot of movies most classes and you have to fight to not fall asleep. But he is a good guy, just get to know him
Great class
Bob is awesome! He can lecture like there is no tomorrow (in a good way). There were only 2 papers through the whole semester, and he lets you rewrite them if you didn't get the grade you wanted. He provides a lot of good feedback, and will challenge you to think critically about the subject material. Take him if you want a chill professor.
Super cool teacher! He loves talking to his students and getting their opinion! Super helpful with his essays. My class had three essays and one small assignment. DO NOT DO THEM LAST SECOND! He does give you good feedback and gives you a chance to rewrite your essay to get a better grade. I'm taking him again next semester for another HUM class!
He is super boring. He likes to test out things with the class that kind of help writing papers but its takes time. When it comes to grading, he is super strict. Oh if you even use your phone or laptop in class, he will automatically fail you from the class. His lectures are really boring. I just wanted to fall asleep in his class.
This class was iffy, he wasn't bad but at the same time he talked from class start to class finish. There was only 4 assignments which basically MAKE OR BREAK YOUR GRADE, luckily he allows you to rewrite your papers. Not much reading for homework but when it is assigned it's a lot and the book is huge. Overall, not a bad professor.
I took his Mythology class in West Campus. I was amazed how much knowledge he has and how he likes the subject. I like the class because it was only 4 papers. (hard papers) but only 4. No homework other than reading. Very easy going. If you do what he says, you'll pass. You can re-write the work after he gives you feedback. Very understanding.
He is a good professor. No homework other than reading. Prepare to read a lot, and be able to discuss at class. No tests or exams, the grades are all from the papers.
There are only four assignments in this class with plenty of opportunities for extra credit. The professor gives good feedback on what can be improved and allows students to redo the first two assignments for a better grade if they choose to. Overall a good professor.
He was one of the most boring professors I had. He did give 4 papers and reading. He seems to know what he is talking about, but he is very boring. Oh he has a cell phone and laptop policy, if you use them and catches you using them for not class related, then you fail automatically. That wasn't the problem. He was just very boring.
He was so unique and he definitely has more information than he can talk about in one course. He is very clear with the grading. Only 5 assignments and no exams. Very easy but show up because attendance is mandatory.
He is unbelievablely boring. He knows what he is talking about but no one cares in his class. He is the most boring professor you will take. Hell snap sometimes on students for whispering. His papers are super complex and it feels like youre writing a thesis for a PhD. He lets you fix up the first 2 papers. Other then thats hes ok
Super kind and clarifies grading system a well as assignments. Considerate of students personal lives as well as retaining information. super simple assignments that make retaining concept of class easy. laid back
I love this Professor, he make his class easy enough so everyone can pass. I would definitely recommend someone to take him. Of course humanity is a boring subject, who doesn't know that? but other than that he is really fair with everybody. He only give 5 assignments, no homework, no testes.
Professor Warren seems very passionate about what he is doing. You may ask anything and he if he does not know the answer, he'll do his research and come back with an answer for that. Just took his class for a credit and I actually liked it and would take it again. Assignments are pretty easy too.
He goes all in on your writings and essays... He is ruthless and has a specific way he wants you to analyze the stories.
I thought his class would be very difficult since there are 4 100 point assignments. However, it was not all that difficult. You just need to make sure you participate in the class. The lectures and the textbook are very important as they will help you piece together the assignments. Moreover, the professor is very considerate when grading.
one thing i would like to say, this was one of the BORINGEST class i have EVERRRRRRR taken in my LIFE. however... there were only 4 hw's thruout the entire semester. they were essays. you have to read a bit, but at least understand. it's not zeus or athena mythology, its more religious. assignments were easy. he loves to teach and great lectures!
A very heady class. The lengthy syllabus was intimidating but Professor Warren turned out to be a fairly easy grader, making the effort to provide feedback on papers and discussions. This class will be easy if you are willing to do your work and are interested in the material. Would recommend this to anybody needing another elective.
Prof. Warren's class can be heavy on content, but the assignments are manageable if you stay engaged. The lectures are worth attending, and using unstuckstudy alongside the textbook really helped me prepare. Overall, a solid elective option.
