He's a new teacher. He sometimes rushes material in class, and is unclear during lectures. He makes his tests EXTREMELY hard...the class average was 50. Although, later on in the semester he did help us out in preperation for the next test. If your taking this thinking it will be easy, your dead wrong.
Brand new professor. Guy knows his stuff, but has a hard time in getting anybody to also "know the stuff." Not a very good teacher is the bottom line. His grading leaves a lot to be desired. Two classes had an average of 50 for his mid-term with only 3 passing grades? Enough said.
I'm usually a "b" student in math, showed up to just about every single class, stayed for extra help, studyed my ass off... he's tough on grading tests...i ended up with a nice big F. thanks for wasting my time for an entire semester.
he's ok... boring tho.. homework was a big part of our grade.. so do homework and make sure u get it right..tests were a little difficult however he gave us a practice exam beforehand.. he also dropped one of our tests ... i had a D,C and B on tests and i got a B becuase of homework...just do homework an try to get ok grades

he wasnt as bad as most of the comments would lead you to believe. I got an A and i didnt do particularly well on the tests. his accent is thick but understandable and once you figure out what numbers he's writing(his 3's and 7's look weird) things become smooth.
The most helpful teacher I've ever had.
Great Prof. Even tho his accent is kinda thick but its still easy to understand him. very clear on what he says. easy grading. home work is very important in his class. do homework and do weel on the test. if you need help hes always in his office . ask for help and garantee an A in his class
Extremley helpful. Very clear on teaching. Kinda goes fast. The material is hard. Lots of work in Calc 2. Exams are very very very easy, you will know what kind of problems to expect. Lots of ways to make extra credit. Make sure you do the homework. He DOES collect and grade it. Again, crazy ways to get extra credit.
He's alright. Luckily the class material wasn't extremely difficulut or I might have suffered. His examples are always examples from the book, so are his lectures. Twice this year a question was asked about a homework question that Nita himself couldn't answer, didn't look good. Overall, I would recommend him for lower level math courses.
DO NOT TAKE HIM!!! this class was horrible, i transfered into msu as a jr, and they wouldnt accept my previous math classes so i took this and basically failed!!! i am a 3.4gpa student!! he is horrible boring and cannt teach to save his life, i dont know about upper level classes but for a basic class he is not worth taking
My overall evaluation of Prof. Nita is Excellent. I received a B+ in Intermediate Algebra. Make sure to do all homework and extra credit assignments it?s very important, attend classes because he give out quizzes which only will help your grade. Also, if you need extra help, he is available in his office. I wish he was teaching pre-cal for the
He is an OK professor.Assumes that you know most of the stuff from pre-calc so you shud b able to minipulate things to use them into calc.tests are out ov da hw but very hard!i wasted my time and money by taking him.teaches with using examples from the book only n not the questions.if u have problems ask him after working through da s&^*load of hw.
DO NOT TAKE HIM!!failed his class myself and i worked my butt off!i have a 3.200 gpa which is ruined by him!very hard tests and extra credit.definitly not good for taking calculus with.
Extremely easy. Gives only 4 or 5 problems a week for homework and 1 is extra credit. There are 10 possible extra credit points which are added to your final grade. If you ask him to do a HW he will do it in class and give you the answer, all you have to do is copy it and hand it in. I have 100s on every HW, and 85 and 100 test scores and 7 EC pts.
Okay this guy knows his stuff & expects you to know it as well. DO NOT TAKE IF YOU'RE WEAK IN MATH. When you ask a question he just like "Because it is...? looks at you like you?re dumb. Would not recommend. I had a 3.8 before him : (
I love prof. Nita, very helpfull and always clear about what he expects from his students.
Semi tough class. I struggle at math sometimes. I must work very hard. If you are putting the effort in, you will do fine. He grades generously. Partial credit for most work. Show you understand the concepts. Lots of extra credit possible. 3-6 hrs/wk avg workload for me. He knows and loves what he is teaching. Would recommend him for sure.
Professor Nita is the best Math teacher that I have ever had. He teaches from the book, but clarifies with more detail. He gives so much extra credit that its impossible to get less than an A if you complete the extra credit that is. I know that I will be a great Math teacher because of him. Thank you Professor Nita.
It is really close to impossible to do bad in his class. The 3 tests are 5 questions (you only do 4 and he tells you what is on the test) and the final is optional. A lot of homework. Always available to help. Generous partial credit. So much extra credit available. Just study and do the work and if you don't get an A, drop out.
He is a good professor. He is always there on his office hours and always helps with any questions. Do all your homework and make sure you understand them cause the test questions are similar to the homework. There are two tests and a final.
Smartest man alive. Best professor at MSU. TAKE HIMMM! you will love him
he is very helpful professor. he is always open to support his students. smart & fun prof. I love him!!! I recommend him!!
Professor Nita is a very bright man. The course, I thought, was not hard. Professor Nita made the material very easy to understand with MANY examples. He is very helpfyl. He has an accent but its pretty easy to understand. The final exam can only boost your grade and he gives extra credit points within hw (which is graded) and tests.
High quality teacher, you can sense an aura of intelligence radiating around him. The best teacher I've had so far at MSU. Very clear lectures and gives you a clear outline of what is going to be on the test. If you want an A though, do what I did and read the book thoroughly.
This man is a Genius!! He really loves what he's doing. He's also a very nice man. He follows the book so we can always reference it when we need help. His exams are a bit difficult and he expects you to go home and study a lot..which is what we're supposed to do anyway. Great guy.
Very good professor very helpful, you take his class you are sure you learn something MATH-515-01 INTERMEDIATE ANALYSIS
Great professor, took him over the summer. Def knows what he's talking about. But our class average on every test was around a 45 and he did not curve in the end... almost everyone failed the class. Ridiculously hard tests.
This professor did not care whether or not anyone passed his class. He was not willing to give any sort of extra credit and his advice is not helpful either. NEVER take him especially for calc I in the summer he knows it is a hard class in a short amount of time and rubs it in your face. I am a good math student and couldnt pass his class.
He is a great teacher.. really smart. He was so helpful every time I asked for help he was willing to asist me. I had him last semester and now I have questions in calc 2, he is currently not my teacher and he is still willing to help me out. I think he is wonderful I whish he would teach calc3
His choice of textbook was spot on, in my opinion. And his lectures made the numerical analysis algorithms even easier to digest. He also held a generous number of office hours per week. I highly recommend.
He was very fair grading the tests. The tests (3 tests and 1 final) aren't too bad if you keep up with the homework and attend class. He gave 6 question test with 1 being extra credit. He pretty much just lectured but that's how math classes are. Very helpful with answering questions. I would take him again.
He is extremely intelligent and knows what he is doing. He was always available to help when I had questions, even through email. We had 2 tests and a final. I really wish there would have been quizzes so our grades wouldn't have been so dependent on the tests. HW is hard but make sure you get an A on all of them; it is worth 25% of your grade.
Awesome professor! Make sure you do the homework and pay attention, his tests are just like the homework, and he goes over everything in lecture. I would definitely take him again if I have to! :)
Good professor, you do what you are suppose to do you get A, very fair and helpful.
Best Professor ! Do what you are supposed to do and you get an A. Tests were based on what was done in HW and in class. He explains everything very clearly and he knows what he is doing. Take Him !
Best Math Professor at MSU!! Take him!
Extremely easy, in my opinion. The tests were graded very leniently (he was slightly less lenient in grading the final). Partial credit given on everything. Do the hw, if you don't understand something from it just ask and he will go over it in class. Exam reviews are student driven, so prepare questions for review day.
He is an exceptional teacher who makes great effort to help his students, Nita is a unique professor. Multivariate calculus is difficult but his application both uncompromising intensity and willingness to help students made it a thoroughly enjoyable class.
He is extremely helpful! I definitely recommend him. He gives you sample tests and extra credits points throughout the semester that are added to your final grade not just to your test or homework. I found him to be amazing. And I thought his accent was hot. Best math teacher at MSU so far!
Excellent professor, considering that the class content itself is not easy, makes the best effort to help the students. You will always know what to expect on the exams upfront. on each test 6 questions one with the lowest points dropped, can't get better than this
Dr. Nita comes to work with a plan. He frames his lectures very well. He utilizes examples given in the text so students can focus on his explanations and not their pencil. He doesn't use the: "Be pedantic and curve" philosophy. As up front as they come about exams. He's a kind, humble man. Chessmaster. Math savant. Take him!
Wonderful professor, extremely intelligent; an absolute joy to work with.
Very straightforward Analysis course. Workload consisted of: 9-10 weekly homeworks (including extra credit), 3 exams (gave ample partial credit), and an optional cumulative final exam if you wanted to replace 2 of your exam grades. Lectures were very clear. Would take again if given the opportunity.
So... I took this guy because he has such a good rating here. But this Calc 3 class was hard. I was getting 100s on the homework, yet the exams were very, very, very difficult. He would give us the study guide but it had nothing to do with the actual exam which is a shame because he would state what each question contains only to throw a curveball.
He is the BEST professor I have ever had in my life. Very helpfully, caring, and most generous professor. If he was my professor for other math classes, I would always get an A, only for him. He makes me want to study and get an A in class. If you don't take him you are missing out. The book is complex but beneficial. It will help in long run.
I give him a 5/5. He always does homework problems we didn't fully understand on the board. He also is always available for office hours and would stay after class at 10pm to help students with questions! If you pay attention in class and study you should do well. He really cares about the success of every one of his students.
Dr. Nita is an extremely fair prof. The class material can be somewhat confusingbut he always entertains questions. The exams are straightword. If you like doing proofs and are familiar with how to do proofs, you will do well in this class. The final is optional, but if you have to take the final, it too is straightforward. Keep hope alive!!!
Dr. Nita is perhaps the most straightforward member of the mathematical sciences faculty @ MSU. WebAssign HWs every week, 5 tests including the final. Will let you know in advance what sort of problems to expect from which section. It's beyond me how anyone manages to get low grades. Extremely fair grader.
Dr. Nita is a great professor! Very helpful in class and during office hours. To do well in this class, you would need to study a lot to prepare for the tests. Calc III can be a difficult subject but he teaches it in a way so students can try to understand it. Definitely, I would take him again.
Great professor that knows the material that he is talking about, very helpful and willing to help and solve as many examples as you want. Exams are not easy and he is a tough grader, but we all know that Calc 3 isn't an easy class. Do your work and come to class so you end up passing. Ask him if you are confused! You must to buy Webassign for HW.
he is the man, do webassign problems and do problems in book and u ll do great; i got 40 in first exam and i went to his office and i challenged him and ended up with an A for the semester.
This professor was very helpful outside of class and in class when students asked questions. He gives 3 Tests , no quizzes , and homework every week . Each test is 20% of your grade! The final was very complicated and he told us to study the previous test which were not closes to the final exam wording. Good luck with all the pot holes he puts on.
Take this professor! He is one of the best I have had thus far. He clearly explains the material and goes above and beyond to make sure you understand. Tests only have 5 questions but he tells you the questions that will be on it two classes prior. Always makes himself available in his office and I highly suggest you go if you have questions
I took his summer Calc 1 class and did not pass. He had three tests and one homework grade, everything was worth 25% of the grade. His example problems from class are right from the book. Every test was 5 questions. DO NOT TAKE HIM IF YOU ARE A BAD TEST TAKER.
he teaches by redoing examples that are done in the textbook, but he does not really explain a whole lot. Seems kind of rude at first, he seemed like he expects students to know everything about calculus, when some students may have taken precal years ago. Very VERY tough exam grader. Not approachable. Make sure you're a math wiz if you take him.
he is a great teacher and is always willing to help i always had a million questions & he took the time to work through them with me & helped me get to the final answers if you go to him after getting your tests back he will even try to give you points back if you have a good explanation he is REALLY nice if you just go up & talk to him when needed
This is the third time I've had Professor Nita, so I knew what to expect from him. This Math and Music class was incredible! There were no exams- you were graded solely on HW and 2 projects. The HW was challenging but you were able to reach out for help and work with your classmates. I received an easy A just for following all the guides!
He's very professional and smart. Always well-prepared. He teaches concepts concisely and directly. He also gives extra credit on homework. Before every test, he tells you what the questions will be about. However, since linear algebra is somewhat proof-heavy, he does require you to understand some theorems and to prove them on exams.
He just redo the problems from the book he just doesnt seem like he is interested in teaching out of the box i would suggest never take him unless you want to fail 3test only not even worth it
Professor Nita tells you exactly what he expects on exams. He's willing to explain everything to you and passing the class feels like it's in your hands. Of all professors at MSU, he is one of the most fair and concise. If your bad at math, work on your foundations and get a defined knowledge of what is there to know, don't stall, and you'll pass.
He is great in lectures literally the best Calc professor in MSU, but his exams are astronomically hard the class avg was a 30 on our first exam, if i were you i would really study hard for his exams, they are only 5 question with everything included so good luck
Lectures are good. He just does examples from the textbook on the board, which can get confusing. All homework is done online. You are only graded by the 3 tests and the final. Tests are only 5 problems and hard to pass. Not one test had a passing average.
Dr Nita does a great job making a hard course manageable. The course was an intro to analysis which is hard enough. Weekly HW, extra credit, and three tests. This is a course where your hard work pays off and is actually worth the time. He comes off intimidating but is a nice guy. This class helped me take my math skills to a new level
Test are basically based on three exercises. Basically if you fail one example you would fail the entire exam, he teaches his class really poorly. Take him if you want to fail.
do not take him. he is really old school and doesn't care if you are learning or not
He is a super focused guy. Just show up to class and pay attention. use his extra credit policies cuz it will help.
Horrible, I took him online bc covid and he does not care. Quizzes each week only 3 questions and the time limit is ridiculous, impossible to finish in time. DOES NOT CURVE no matter how close you are to a 70%. Quizzes are nothing like what we learn from homework examples.
Avoid. His lectures are more like tutorial videos you find on YouTube. Too concise. Literally told my class at one point to just learn the material ourselves. His quizzes are SO HARD. Its so different from what you learn in class.
He is pretty strict. I took calc 1 and it was crazy i am mean his test average was around like 40. If you want to have a in this class u gotta study hard. I was doing like a C but corona happened so i got the pass/fail oppurtunity
Took him spring 2020 when COVID hit. I thought he would make it easier on us but he didnt. Quizzes are hard only 3 questions so if you dont get all right you fail. Doesnt curve grades. Lectures arent bad but the examples he does in lectures are easier than the quizzes/tests. Homework isnt bad either just expect tests/quizzes to be harder than hw
I had him for Intermediate Analysts (which was combined with the undergrad analogue, 425) my first semester of grad school, and he was absolutely fantastic. Incredibly clear, insightful, accessible, and all-around one of the best professors I have ever encountered in my entire collegiate career.
Super nice and helpful. Was always clear about assignments and quizzes.
His quizzes are crazy hard. Goes over simple problems on the reviews just to hit you with stuff youve never seen before on the test. Incredibly tough grader.
I haven't even finished this course yet but I can already tell how the rest of it is going to go. I have taken 2 quizzes & I scored badly; I was always good at math, I always got good grades in math but I can't seem to pass the quizzes. He gives you videos to watch & examples during class but the quiz is COMPLETELY different & EXTREMELY DIFFICULT!!
Professor is not helpful at all. Very dry lecturer and barely teaches. His quizzes and exams are NOTHING like the homework he assigns. If you're not great at math, he does nothing to help you. He has no empathy whatsoever, especially during a pandemic. Not very likable, and logging on to his class is dreadful. I loved math but he made me hate it :/
im good at math -- i did well in this class so this doesn't pertain to me, but the way he treats some students is despicable. he gives us so much homework and then gives us small quizzes that are so much harder than what he taught in class. For kids that arent good at math but are genuinely trying, this class is a joke. prof is not very caring.
I would give prof a zero if it were possible. he doesnt care if you're consistently failing his quizzes even when you do try and study. everybody did so badly in my class, even the smart math kids. that just shows how bad of a prof he is. dont take him if you want to keep your gpa up. this class was a huge blow to my mental health for real.
This was the worst class Ive ever taken. Professor Nita should NOT be a professor at all. He has no empathy, hes dry, and hes not helpful. if you can, AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS. I did well in this class and I still hated it. Absolute worst ever. Definitely takes a toll on your mental health.
The only good thing about this professor is that he drops your lowest quiz grade, but honestly, everything else about him is terrible. He literally told us in the beginning that we can fail all the quizzes and still pass. What a lie and super unprofessional to say, since we are paying for the class. He doesn't even listen to our feedback or emails.
Great professor! You earn the grade you get. He gives great feedback and offers a lot of great help with homework. The quizzes were pretty straight forward and if you did the homework and practice extra homework problems then you will excel in his class. TAKE HIM HE'S THE BEST!
Bogdan is a good professor. He explains everything well. I took his summer course for Calc 1 so it was a little packed. But as long as you pay attention in class and do the hw you are good. He gives partial credit but not too much partial credit. You can't trick him also, very serious guy. The homework and quizzes were the same questions. Do hw!
I have never felt more text anxiety and mental breakdowns in my life
Worst Professor. Dry lectures, I dont know about you but I like an energetic Professor that loves what he does. Spends almost half of the class reviewing homework then the actual lesson. The lessons are quick, if you missed a class good luck catching up. The tests are 2 or 3 questions so if you dont get all the answers you fail AVOID AT ALL COST!
he is very lecture heavy and his class is very hard. almost everyone in the class was struggling and he would assign pop quizzes until people started failing so he starting announcing them in advance. his quizzes are based on the hw assignment which make it easier but the tests are like 2-3 questions which makes it very hard to pass.
Prof. was needlessly overly difficult for a subject that is already difficult. Many have failed and quite a few withdrew. Beware as midterm questions came from future chapters. Quizzes/homework are passable. Midterms/Exams are graded harshly. No partial credit for midterm problems. Midterms need to be perfect or it’s a zero (no partial credit).
Learning math is hard. Teaching math is harder. Prof. Nita is organized, fair, and genuinely wants students to succeed. Similar to any other college-level math course, the material being covered can be very difficult to grasp. Having said that, his lectures can be a bit dry and abstract. More time should be spent introducing new concepts.
Nita cares for his students, but there will be a lot of quizzes. He announced them for us in Calc2 and they are based on the homework. You will use WebAssign and pls rely on the textbook!! He can bevery fast paced but he is always willing to explain in his office hours. He offers extra credit opportunities to help you pass and is a great professor!
Dr. Nita is an excellent professor who is able to clearly explain concepts while making them interesting. He will always answer your questions and explain things until you understand them. To succeed: attend, pay attention, take notes, and review them as you do the homework. Always ask questions as soon as you are lost and you will be fine.
Dr. Nita is a good professor. His office hours are very helpful.
It takes a lot of studying to do well in this class, and I mean a LOT.
Other students say that Professor Nita does not explain. When I took him for Calculus 1, it was definitely challenging. However, if you pay attention in class and made an effort to understand the homeworks and doing additional practice problems 2 weeks before tests/quizzes. Then I don't see why you wouldn't be able to pass with an A.
Professor Nita was a great professor the class was challenging but going to his lectures and asking for extra help makes a big difference. His office hours are really helpful and can help ensure you understand the material.
Please just do yourself a favor and don't take him PLEASE. I wasted my semester for this like take anyone else. He is nice to talk to but after that no. I am so good at math and he made me hate everything. He rushes through all his lectures and just doesn't take his time at all. Take someone else, save yourself.
Mr nita is a nice guy and I get calc is a hard subject and many do bad reviews due to just it being math but truly he teaches u with dry lectures and ur grade is relying on ur test taking skills and study hours if u cant take tests or study for 3+ hours daily before tests than his class probably will end like it did for me so be warned!! no curve!
talks so much but only goes over the homework (edfinitys) also takes attendance randomly a couple times but rarely tbh. Annoying bc he goes through new lessons hella fast and his handwriting doesn't help. he isn't mean but doesn't curve I gotta retake this class. overall professor is ok. very tough grader. he doesn't gaf if u fail so good luck
Kind at heart and very passionate about teaching. His quizzes are based off of the edfinity(homework website). Your grade will reflect on your ability to pay attention and effort put in, it has nothing to do with him. He's a kind grader and an even kinder soul.
His quizzes/tests are literally the hw problems with the numbers changed. I've never been really good at math but if you do the hw (edfinity) and you should be fine. Getting an a in this class is totally possible. Goes over whatever hw problem you are struggling with in class at the beginning. You have to pay for edfinity, not that much tho.
Great professor. He can be a little dry a times but he's nice. He's pretty clear while teaching and is very willing to answer any questions you have. There are many extra credit opportunities and the homework is very reasonable. The exams are also straightforward with no surprises.
I already knew a lot of the course material going in but I think he explained everything very clearly and while I did not like having to pay for Edfinity to do my homework, the homework he assigned was very good and he was always willing to go over confusing problems with the class.
He is passionate about the subject but he assumes you understand even when its overwhelmingly obvious you don't. grades very confusingly and makes exams very confusing.
MATH122 with Professor Nita is a challenging course, but manageable if you put in the effort. Attend lectures, do the homework, and use resources like the textbook and Unstuckstudy to supplement your learning. The tests can be tough, but the material is rewarding to master.
This professor is the best of the best, I was extremely struggling in Calculus and Professor Nita took time out of his schedule just to help me understand the material. If you listen to his advice, take notes, study, and practice with him this class is a piece of cake. Please take time out your day and make a schedule to do this man's work.
Great professor, very clear in explanations, make sure students are not overwhelmed with too much work and will allow students to pass if they show that they are giving effort.
This professor knows math, but that doesn't mean he can teach it.
