Greatest calculus prof i've ever hard. He's always there to help
Cool guy, always willing to help, always has good attitude.
nice guy, good prof, tough exams
Do I really need documentation to talk to you?
The integral of sec^2x is tanx!! Man I'm stupid.
he is always so helpful ..good prof!
His notes are a little insane, but he explains his concepts well... good teacher
taught a tough course very well
Brutal final exam. Full of twists and curves.

KERMIT! Has a very diverse wardrobe
I actually like the B-man. He delivers !
he's good, explains the material well, moves at good pace.
Solid prof, gets the job done
Good guy. Knows his stuff and does well explaining it.
best prof u can find on earth enthusiastic n nice very helpful n patient a fair n caring prof
Good math prof!
A really good prof. He is patient, clear and smart. He gives students time to ask and when asked he does get to the point. He is sometimes funny too. ( HE LOVES HOCKEY). HE is A ****ING prof.
The best first year calc for engineers prof available.
Pretty hot guy, has an awesome beard, and really bright. Knows his stuff and more than willing to help if u need it. Just pay attention or u will get behind and it takes way too long to catch up...
Great lecturer. He really simplifies the matb for you and makes it easy to follow. Also very helpful if you have any questions.
great guy
i wouldnt say an amazing professor but he puts the other calc teachers to shame in teaching ability
Tudose is a great guy. His teaching methods are pretty excellent. When he stresses to do the homework, DO THE HOMEWORK though. After the first midterm things pick up like crazy so if you do well on that, don't assume you've passed the class-keep at 'er. Anyways, great prof overall. I would highly recommend him.
Awesome prof; great attitude, great teaching style, hope I have him again in the future!! Don't miss his classes!
Pretty good proff
Amazing
If you get Tudose in Eng Calc, you are a lucky one! Quizzes are somewhat easy and scheduled well, and he gives clear lectures.
Good lecturer, very funny due to his awkwardness. Explains things well and is generally pretty good.
Best of the three profs for first year calc; get in his class if you can! He is the nicest and clearest of the first year profs, and only gives quizzes and exams rather than throwing in difficult extra assignments. The course is still by no means easy, but he teaches it the best.
A pretty good prof. Has an accent, but not one that really got in the way of understanding him. He was fairly good, but not great at explaining things, and occasionally said something weird and funny. He also does quizzes instead of assignments, and they were pretty easy.
He is a great prof! Awesome! He only gives students quizzes. No assignments. The questions on the quizzes are so easy. He teaches in a very clearly way. He is very helpful if you have any questions! He is awesome!
An excellent prof. He explains concepts clearly and at a reasonable pace. His quizzes were pretty easy, but the exams were challenging. Was nice enough to do review sessions in class before quizzes/exams.
While Tudose may seem like an excellent professor at first, based on the other ratings of other professors, he is merely mediocre. All the other calculus professors are terrible at Western, hence Tudose's high score. He skips between topics and has an illogical flow between concepts, leaving most people confused. God bless, and pre-study.
Great teacher overall.
nice! the greatest
Speaks and teaches very clearly, and seemed interested in teaching us, despite the material (linear algebra). Covered all of the chapters we needed to, and gave regular assignments. He is very "conventional", but you cannot go wrong choosing his section.
Bogdan is the type of guy who walks into class (with your girl around his arm) 15 mins late and ends lecture 15 mins early. He is actually not a bad teacher but Tina is better. Tina from Prep101 explained everything way better then Bogdan. Bogdan comes across as the type of professor you love but he is not at all. HERREEEESSSS BOGDANNNNN!
Bogdan's lectures are entertaining and informative, but more importantly he WILL steal your girl. When his "appointments" go a little late, he will show up to class a little late, and if there aren't any whiteboard erasers, don't expect him to use the sleeve of his Versace T Shirt, he'd rather just end class early.
Funny guy, very good teacher, makes good use of class time. he went slowly, and we'd still somehow be ahead of other classes so we't often have days just to ask about any hw question or topic we don't understand
Arguably one of the better 1st year engineering calc professors. He does the best drawings (which actually is important for the course) and has the most examples, but he does sometimes go through them without fully explaining them. If you catch him in his office hours he's great though, and will explain things in more detail.
keeps it real
Not the best lecturer I've had all year. Didn't have enough examples to explain the obscure concepts of the course. Wouldn't mind having him as a professor again though.
Just do your work and you will be fine. He is great at explaining.
Clear explanation of topics.
Great prof. Very personable and has a friendly accent. Success in the course depends on you keeping up with the homework. If you can manage the homework you should do alright on the tests and exams.
He is an alright professor. Not bad, just difficult.
Bogdan just reads the textbook as he writes the note in class. If you look at the posted note its not always coherent, so being in class does help a bit. However, you can get away with just reading the textbook the night before. All the test were the same as those in previous years. Easy course to do well in
Throughout my life I loved math (and was always good at it) until I took calc 1000. This was the hardest course I've ever taken in my life. Tudose himself is a good prof but he's almost too smart to be teaching first year calc - when he tries to explain things he doesn't go in depth enough even though he means well. Do every textbook question!
I would highly reccomend seeking out another calc 1000 professor as tudose gives extremely difficult long answer quizzes with TAs who give no part marks whatsoever. The midterm is fine, but the quizzes, unless you answer every question perfectly will just drain the midterm mark, which is ridiculous.
just no
without prior calc knowledge this might be a tough course and he does move fairly quick. explains well, does plenty of examples, and takes time to answer any questions. there are weekly quizzes and theyre not easy. defs one of the better calc profs youll come across. also his examples reflect the difficulty of the final exam rlly well
He was a very nice prof and was always willing to help any students. Marked exams pretty easily as well. Good guy overall.
Great teacher. Super organized notes makes class easy to follow. Boring at times but clear and helpful.
If you have this professor, LEAVE THIS CLASS. I was in first year and had gotten a 92 in High School Calculus, and I had to retake this class because my mark was so bad despite trying very hard. If you need to learn with a professor I don't recommend him. He is barely accessible outside of class, teaches as if you know the material, dont recommend.
Do not take this professor's class if at all possible. I had him for online Calculus in the Summer. He does not explain concepts clearly at all, basically just does 2 or 3 examples for each class (and rushes through those). Non-existent availability outside of class. Didn't return a single email in 6 weeks.
Just an absolute beast. Such a great human being . Teaches you whatever he wants and you like it. You wanted full hour lecture? Well too bad cause Tudose gotta cut early to smash that girl you been crushing on since o-week. You go to every lecture not because the school makes you, its because you WANT to.
Tudose is the one prof I know that can show up to a lecture of 200+ people with some white board markers and a textbook, lecture a subject purely based on memory, and still kill it (with 20 minutes left over). He focuses on examples, and rarely makes mistakes. He always has clear answers to questions. His quizzes/exams are predictable and fair.
Straight and to-the-point, answers all questions well, fair lectures, kind of a savage without trying to be (which makes him more of a savage)
straight-up sucks. not a good teacher. i like his examples but doesn't explain what he's doing, just does it and hopes you can follow along.
Many other reviews say Tudose is a funny, caring prof however with my experience it was not the same. I believe those fortunate people had this class in person. His lectures online are terrible and are very difficult to follow. I had to pause every 30 seconds to understand what he did, then go on YouTube to find another video explaining the concept
Although I can tell Bogdan means well he does not teach well in the online setting. Online Dr. Tudose only narrates what is being written instead of describing what he is doing and why he is doing it. Because of this, it can be very difficult to follow what he does in online lectures and even harder to understand.
He's an okay professor, not great but not bad. His lectures can occasionally be difficult to follow because he explains concepts or mathematical processes poorly from time to time. But overall, he wasn't the worst professor. We're in an online learning environment and his class was difficult, but it was doable when you put in the work.
Didn't adapt to the online format well, lectures are not helpful and poorly done
Legit taught a course I'd already learnt last year and officially know less than I did then. Not good at teaching.
The prof himself isnt the best necessarily but he gives you the resources for success and his quizzes and tests are not too far from the resources. His course both semesters where grade boosters for me. 1412 and 1414 both went easily
Bogdan, you are truly the best prof anybody could ask for, especially during difficult times. Very funny guy and truly cares about his students. Excellent lectures and clear examples. Class average was in the high 80s since lots of students did really well in his course.
Awful Prof, doesnt explain problems, and doesnt care about his students.
Hes too smart to be teaching first year calculus. Skips many steps. Does not teach well. Lecture videos are practically useless. Prepare to learn on your own for the most part, if not entirely.
I paid more attention to his long, yellow, fingernails than the lesson because he usually just did a 10 step question in 2 steps and moved on.
He was a nice guy but he would skip many steps in difficult problems. His midterm was light but final was very hard.
You'd have an easier time trying to re-discover general relativity from scratch than understanding his lectures. He basically gets paid to do nothing since he reposts the exact same videos and notes each year on owl. I gave up on his videos half way through the year and found youtube videos explaining the exact same things but shorter and better.
Makes you learn at home, while sitting in class going over homework when we should be learning the content. I would rather any other course than this right now. He is knowledgeable but I do not like the way he is approaching teaching. Maybe teach during the lectures instead of making us watch online videos...
his lectures were useless, he basically just rewrote the notes he already posted online. both the midterm and final exams were horribly difficult and contained a lot of material that wasn't taught to us at all, i had to guess most answers. i don't know my final grade yet but it's probably a fail.
doesn't know what he's doing. Teaches one thing, exam is on something else
Tudose is amazing for physics 2. His homework assignments are tough but they're biweekly and not weighted as much. He does little experiments in lectures and is a very fun guy overall.
Professor Tudose is a great prof even if his teaching methods may be unusual with the paper being projected on the board. With that said, he cares about his students and is also very approachable after class for questions. Lectures are well-paced and if you stay consistent with attending and focusing in his classes, everything will get easier!
He genuinely cares about his students and is very approachable. He gets you to think but the tests are fair and everything is covered in his notes. Attend class though because there's no recording of class just notes posted.
Great professor, very helpful in teaching.
Attending Professor Tudose's lectures is what got me through this course. His lectures were well structured and surprisingly made the content fun! Plus, he was very approachable after lectures and was genuinely interested in his students' success. If you actually put in the work and take notes, this absolute unit of a prof will help you get an A.
If you had this guy fall term of the 2023-2024 school year, you were in for an ABSOLUTE treat. We had two + Matlab tests during tutorial times, which were all throughout the week. He kept the tests VERY similar to past years, and kept the exact same for everyone! For the final, I was like no way he's gonna do it again. I was fooled.
My least favorite professor in first-year engineering. This is not because he has a bad attitude or anything, but he is just EXTREMELY lazy. He will not respond to emails, or anything outside of class. His classes are also terrible and uninteresting, as he just sits at his desk, as he writes the lecture by hand on 12 sheets of paper.
I had him for physics and didn't believe he was the best. This changed with Linear Algebra. He is great at teaching mathematical theory, and helps you understand the foundation of lin alg quite well. great professor.
My king…..
He's a living legend
The greatest of all time.
Good prof in general, goes over the material slowly but thoroughly. Tudose tends to use calculus a lot in physics which isn't ideal for most high school students but otherwise no other concerns
God professor, have very much enjoyed this course. He is very happy to answer any questions you may have about the subjects covered, and seems to enjoy teaching the course.
great prof
goodddddddddd
The expert. Very smart and knowledgeable. No curve balls
Crams a lot into the lectures, which can be tough if the concepts are brand new. Skips a lot of steps in his work. Sometimes had great lectures and explainations, other times not so much.
Overall, pretty decent calc professor. Knowledgeable and lectures are organized. Sometimes moves a bit too fast through newer concepts. Final exam was also quite difficult and the course average ended up in the mid-60s (which was the lowest among first-semester engineering classes by a decent amount).
Not terrible, but he goes through topics fairly quick during the lecture and sometimes skips major algebra steps. He does all his lectures on paper, and not slides so you do have time to try and process. His lectures weren't bad but some were incomprehensible sometimes just because of how quickly he goes through everything. Exams are tough.
His notes are very organized and easy to follow along, however don't get fooled by how easy the content is to follow along with in the first month.
No formula sheet on exams and he gave us maths most famous unsolved hypothesis as an exam question (how are we supposed to get that right?)....
