Teacher seemed not to care about subject, and cared less about grades.(In a good way). Take for an ENTERTAINING, easy class.

DR. CLARK IS GREAT TO HAVE AT 8AM, HER APPROACH TO TEACHING IS FUN UPLIFTING AND HONEST. SHE REMINDS ME OF JERRY SEINFIELD.

Dr. Clark is so staightforward and honest. She is a wonderful instructor. I enjoy her class and style of teaching.

I came across her as a fluke when I took SPC1600 and ever since, I am addicted to her classes. Her lectures resemble stand up comedy..but you need to get used to her teaching style. Only downfall is..u need to read the book!

Bonnie is hilarious and lenient with work. She is one of the best teachers I've had. Speech can be hard for some people but she makes it a lot easier and gives a lot of time to prepare for them.

Best Teacher ever. Very laid back and fun.

The best professor I've ever had.. she's so funny and interesting that I really felt I learned something from this class. Because of her, I want to study more on Generation X and Y. I heart Dr. Clark!!!

Dr.Jefferis now! Can we say Ellen DeGeneres!!! I kept waiting for her to pull a cigarette out of the Donkey thing Ellen has. Shows up to class 2 min. late EVERY CLASS but ALWAYS ends on time. Helpful, Lays out what is expected the very first day! THE BEST

Even though the class has just started, I know its going to be fun... and she plays the drums too. COOL

Very good class! Youd think speech would be hell, but she makes it really easy for you , so if you have a hard time speeching you wont freak. She also tells storys and stuff to lighten the mood ,so its alot of fun!

Dr. Jefferis is about as laid back as they come-but in a good sense! Uses an unconventional means of lecturing that is personable, colorful & HILLARIOUS. I _hated_ giving speeches, but improved in the end. Quizes are a cinch of you're willing to look at the chapters for 10-15 mins before the test.

OMG! I love her. I like that she is a drummer and talks about getting a little action from the hubby! I laughed so hard in that class. She is so funny!!! Everyone is just as nervous as you are RELAX and have fun...Oh yeah and don't read 10 min. before the test. Do it the night before!

Class was a breeze- do the assignments and get an A, no problem. She tells stupid stories and spend a whole class period Googling people's names she went to HS with- I can't say we had ONE classroom discussion about Pop Arts. But yeah, easy A I guess, even though I'm now unprepared for the next step

she's very amusing in class. she explains what she wants and how she wants things done very clearly. quizzes are VERY easy if u study or even don't b/c they're common sense questions. the class is easy if you follow her directions.

She is really loud and out there. she thinks she is funny but she is really a little bit annoying. she makes fun of people/students all the time and it can make you feel a little insecure. Overall the class was easy and I enjoyed it. If you are a nervous speaker you might want to pick another professor.

Jefferis is great. She's quite amusing and the class isn't difficult if you put a little effort into it. She'll make you laugh.

I did not like her. She was funny at times but mostly annoying. I felt like every time I went she was wasting my time. You don't learn anything in class. But the class is pretty easy, just didn't like her.

She is a good teacher. She has alot of quizes, but they are easy as long as you skim through the book.

For a speech teacher, she is not concise in her speech. You may think that she is humorous, but overall she is annoying and insulting. She often uses profanity and does not grade on a consistent basis. She sets rules for her assignments and then proceeds to reward students who do NOT follow directions. Easy teachers cheat students.

she was an awesome teacher. i had taken her previously and stopped going due to family problems. instead of failing me with 3 weeks in the semester to go she was nice enough and withdrew me. I then took her again this past summer and she kept all my previous work that i had done so all i had to do was show up to class finish one speech that i didnt

She is a bit crazy and thinks she is very sarcastic, but after awhile it becomes annoying. She is a good speech teacher though, she doesnt grade to hard and even if she acts like she could careless about your speech, most of the time she treats you farely. If you have no other options, I would take her.

I have a BIG, huge even, fear of giving speeches, but, she made it easy for me. It was fun to go to class and she was so funny! She made the class VERRY easy. I tell my friends that if they need to take speech to take her. I even signed up for another class she is teaching next semester.

I got Mrs Jeffris on my thrid attempt taking this course after withdrawing twice before and I am gald I waited for her. She puts you at ease and takes a gentler approach to teaching this course that most would love to skip. Great teacher!!!

Great teacher. She is so helpful and was a pleasure to have for speech! I've heard horror stories of other professors but this so far is the best professor I've had yet with SPC. She may not be "hot" but she adds humor to the classroom and provides "doable" assignments. I took accelerated 8 week course, great choice FYI, it flies by.

If you have ANY fear of speech class then this is the teacher you want. She makes the class so easy and fun. Her classes are fun because she tells stories and makes everyone feel extremely comfortable. If you hate the idea of taking speech, take Dr. J. You will come out with an A and get it out of the way!

I can't say enough about how awesome she is. Funny! Easy class. Only 3 speeches. I got A's on everything and I barely tried. She even canceled the last class, gave everyone a 100% on the final and let us make up all the missing work for a complete grade. So cool! I am even considering taking another one of her classes, that's not my major!

Dr. Jefferis is an awesome professor. She is very funny, and blends her teaching style with her humor well. It is an enjoyable class to attend and understand! All you need to do to get an A, is attend class, follow her study guide over the quiz, and practice your speech's before you present them.

By far one of the best teachers here. If you're looking for an EASY Gen-Ed class, take this. She's gracious with her grading and is very humorous. Classes consist of 20 minutes of lecturing and the rest life stories and jokes. It's not a class that's really meant to be taken TOO seriously. I think she knows that too =)

Dr. Jefferis class was one of the best that I have taken. The speeches are easy unless you are shy, like me, bt I did great. Her quizzes are done at home and they are open book if you make them up in class. The oulines are the hardest to do, but make sure to keep themat the length she shows you. She was very funny and I reccomend taking her class.

Awesome Professor! Quizzes are easy if you read the material, I hated speech before this class but she makes it easy and she has a good sense of humor so it keeps class a little entertaining. Speeches are easy, if you just put a little effort you will do great! She does have a make-up day for if you end up missing a speech. Awesome class!!

Dr. Jefferis makes speech much easier, even though I was scared to death to speak in public. She does need to work on her sarcasm with students. I lost respect for her due to that. She also does not return emails quickly. However, she loves what she does and teaches it well. I would take her again.

Great energy, very funny. Tells a lot of stories unnecessary for the class, fun stories of past students and herself seems to be all she teaches. Her class is very easy, getting an A+ is very easy. Her speeches are short less than 5mins each. Get your work done, do the quizzes [which btw are absolutely easy] and you'll get an A+. DO YOUR SPEECHES!

I took the 8 week express class and recieved an A. She doesn't use the book except on quizes. She doesn't lecture much on speech giving, but she is very fair when grading papers and speechs. Most definately and easy A. I would highly recommend her for a self-motivated student that needs to take this class to cover your generals.

if you dread speech class-take 8 week blended express class! the weeks flew by. She made giving speeches easy. Quiz each week - textbook is helpful for this. 3 speeches total - you can use note cards. Dr. J talks a lot about herself and past experiances with other students. She's funnier than most professors and I enjoyed the class!

She talks ALOT about herself and her past experiences and she also will repeat same things over and over again every class period about showing s how to get onto the college website and how to look up other professors and their personalized biography of themselves. She also talks about all of the cool classes that the college has. Oh, She thinks Anthony Ballard looks like Denzel Washington. Anyways, if you need to take a speech class, TAKE HER EXPRESS: maybe 5 speeches total that go very quickly

Very easy/nice professor. show up to class, study the book for 30 mins before quiz day. work on assignments before the deadline and it is very easy to pass.

Dr. J. is very nice and makes you laugh during class. 16 week course is 3 speeches and 1 panel discussion. Also 1 analysis paper. You get a couple notecards for speeches and you do not have to rate other speeches. Take her! Other teachers are more strict.

Dr. Jefferis is an extremely friend person with a great sense of humor. She teaches each class with stories from her life. At first you may wonder why she's telling these stories and what they have to do with class, but she makes things clear nicely. She does a great job of easing your inevitable nerves about speaking in front of people.

This teacher fell asleep many times, during speeches she would start nodding off, and she put an extra credit movie on and did the same thing for most of the movie. She talks a lot about herself during class using time she could be going over harder parts of the book for quizzes. I would not recommend her at all unless you want an easy A.

I took an 8wk express blended class. She talks a lot but is Hilarious! It's pure comedy and makes the class more relaxed. The syllabus is straight forward. The quizzes took online all are open book and study guides tell you exactly what is on the quiz. Nods off during speeches. Very simple class. EASY A! Simple final exam too.

Dr. J is one of the most entertaining classes I've ever taken. She is a great public speaker and her stories are a riot. The course work is on the tough side but she is a fair grader and really recognizes the effort put into your work.

I was dreading this class with a passion. Dr. J made me forget how stressful public speaking is and made the class fun. She fully recognized how anxious most of the class was, and broke the ice with many, many personal stories and jokes. She has a very dry, sarcastic sense of humor. so may not be for everyone. I have taken Professor Jefferis in an 8 week class setting. We gave 3 speeches and did a quiz every week. Professor Jefferis truly cares for her students and wants them to pass. I took the 8 week class that was half online, half face to face. I was terrified to take this class. Dr. Jefferis was an AWESOME professor. From the moment you stepped into her class she made you feel confident and comfortable. She truly has a gift at making this class fun and exciting. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This was an 8 wk class, half online/half in class . She was very entertaining, and had me laughing through her lecture. She is very clear on her assessments, when they are due, and what is expected of you. As everyone hates the dreaded speech class, she made this class very enjoyable. There are 3 speeches, and a quiz weekly online.

I was weary since like most people I am terrified of public speaking, but she makes everything seem so light and takes the anxiety away. She's a very easy grader with the speeches, I had to restart a few times and stumbled a lot, I was still given a 100% because of effort. She is an amazing instructor, I recommend her completely.

Mrs Jefferis is a dedicated long-time professor at SPC. She is a very good speech giver herself and demonstrates her skills at the beginning of each class. You will have fun topics for your speeches with lots of choices. You should have no trouble finding a subject you are passionate about. By the end of class you will be smooth and confident.

Professor is direct, easy to follow, and is funny in class from beginning to end. I had diffuculty with my speech; however, did not interfere taht much with my grade. Read text book because the quizzes are short and have lengthy questions. Final is based off the quizzes. This professor is really there for her students. Take it, easy A.

Seriously an excellent teacher. I chose her class based on the reviews here and I am glad I did. Very fair with grading especially for your speeches if you're an extremely nervous/ shy person like myself! She is so flexible with assignments, correcting and re-submitting, etc. Also is very funny and makes you feel relaxed. Definitely recommend her!

As long as you follow the steps to the assignments, you'll pass. If you take the blended class, all quizzes are open book. Don't miss the class with a guest speaker, otherwise you'll end up with a 0 for that assignment.

Great Teacher. Probably the funniest I've ever had. She makes the class as simple as a speech class can possibly be. Very understanding and helpful, offers multiple extra credit assignments if needed, a couple of the assignments are (basically) participation. Show up, follow the outline, and you'll do fine.

This teacher is great! She is entertaining and keeps you interested. 3 speeches, and two of them you have a bit of freedom and can really throw your personality into them. I cried my first speech and got a B, the other two I got As and spoke like a pro. Highly recommend this teacher.

She made this introductory speech class a very relaxed environment for students because she knows public speaking can be nerve-racking. The only problem was that she didn't always use the whole class period and it seems like instead of letting people out early, she could do a bit more teaching.

Dr. Jefferis was very helpful in preparing me for my speeches. Every time my outline was wrong she wouldn't stop till I got an A. Presentations, outlines, and paper (which is easy) are worth more than the quizzes. Must read the book to pass the quizzes. Final is optional. Easy A if you push yourself.

A great professor for those who are stressing taking this class. She tells you exactly what she wants and how she wants it. The quizzes are super easy, just vocab related questions. And she's pretty entertaining so that's a plus!

I took her class as a blended course, and in an 8-week. Her class was easy to pass and her assignments are straightforward and clear. Speeches were easy to do and the topics were open ended and fun. All quizzes are online/open book and extra credit is available. She goes off topic occasionally during lectures but its usually funny when she does.

She is a good Professor who is understanding and willing to work with you. She is hilarious and her assignments and grading is understandable. Do your work and show up to class and you will get a good grade.

Dr. J is hilarious. Even for a night class, she was able to keep things interesting. And she is pretty forgiving with grading. I highly recommend taking the express class. You only had to give 3 speeches, and write one other paper. It was a blended class, so all the quizzes/tests were online and quizzes were open book.

4 speeches, an "essay" about a movie of your choice, quizzes based on textbook(must read), and extra credit options. Hilarious and entertaining. DO be cautious: she is VERY strict with formatting. She expects scripts for your speech to be exactly like the sample she provides. It is not hard just be mindful of details. Practice your speeches!

At first I thought she was a little weird, but I grew to like her. I took the 12 week class, we only had three speeches and one paper on a movie of our choice. If you take her class you'd better be a good rule follower, she likes her speeches done exactly like the examples. Otherwise, an easy class--even if speaking is scary at first.

Dr. Jefferis provided us with some amazing opportunities. We got a tour of CBS 10 news. Met a lot of the staff while sitting in on the live 6 pm news. She brought in amazing guest speakers ranging from a filmmaker, a social media manager and a sports radio host. Also hooked us up at an all day radio station event. Take her for Intro to Mass Comm!

Thoroughly enjoyed the class. Dr. Jefferis helps a lot and answered any questions I had in a timely manner. She is a tough grader but explains what could've been done better. She never took too many points off, my assignment grades were mostly B's. Great class, and one of my favorites during my time at SPC.
