This professor is extremely two sided. She says that if you read the book you'll get an A...I read it, pretty much memorized it, and the tests are still near impossible to get an A on. She takes questions that the book prepares (fyi). Interesting class and book, but she really didn't contribute much.

Take class with a different professor. She is extremely disorganized and the tests are the hardest I've EVER taken. The Q's are far too detailed and the material is impossible to memorize for the tests, no matter how much you study. I was looking forward to this class, but now left greatly disappointed and most likely going to have to retake it.

You will need to read the book; she won't summarize it for you, which I like. Lectures rarely overlap with book, but 95% of exam material is from the book. She encourages in-class discussion and questions. The exams were fair, and conceptual more than memorization. She is very nice and welcoming to questions or just conversation.

I've found that Professor Klimes-Dougan's students either hate Abnormal Psych, or love it. The ones that hate it only study the lecture notes and expect to ace the exams, and the ones that love it thoroughly read the chapters and do very well. Most lectures are very interesting, though I'd say about 3/4 of the exam material is from the text book.

The class material is very interesting. However, Professor Klimes-Dougan is not interested in teaching. She would come to class and give a quiet, monotonous, lecture then leave. There would only be one or two questions from the lecture on the test, otherwise questions were straight from the book. The best thing to do is to stay home and read.

The content was really interesting, I am pursuing psych. I did not mind the extensive reading because it was interesting. The lectures were a bit old and very long. I found the best way was to put them on 2x and fill out the study guide questions along side. The inflexible due dates were the most annoying. And things being Due Tuesday at 2pm

Beware there are lectures that are from years ago that are extremely long. The prof does not even put any trigger warnings. Take this class if you have too but would not recommend for fun. I took it for fun but the professor and TA's don't seem to care for their students at all.

You basically teach yourself the entire textbook and memorize it cover to cover. The course offers REP for extra credit which is extremely helpful (5% grade increase), so do that. The exams are really specific and the prof did not seem to care much about us at all. However, the material was extremely fascinating, which made the class bearable.

The class average on every test was like a 70%. She is just a terrible professor, straightup. I was able to get an A by doing extra credit and not missing the quizzes, but this class was way too much work for just 3 credits. Oh, expect to read upwards of 150 pages and 6 hours of lecture some weeks. At least the material was interesting?

This class covers interesting material, but there is just so much work. You have to read so much from the textbook every week and watch lectures that are hours long from past years. Overall its a very lazy class on Klimes' part, all lectures are very old and you just teach yourself the content from the book. Don't recommend this class.

Very good professor. She is very understanding and will work with you if you have concerns about your grade (if you have done the work). The quizzes are easy and help you stay on track. Notes took me a good, I would say, 5-10 hours a week. I went to Starbucks on Saturdays specifically to take notes for this class so stay on top of it! :)

There's not enough time in the week to do all the work this professor expects you to do. Bonnie seems to be overcompensating by giving ridic amount workload so everyone is aware that this isn't an "easy online class". in doing so, she made this the worst class to exist. do NOT take her if you still like psychology.

If you are looking to take this class, I recommend you DO NOT. She is the worst professor I've ever had. She expects 15+ hours of work a week on top of studying. Clearly, she thinks the only class we are taking is hers.... I've never been more stressed and depressed over a course. This class requires more work than organic chemistry....

I'm going to be honest, Professor Klimes-Dougan seems like a very sweet lady (even though there's not much communication between her and the students), but the class is DIFFICULT. The tests are unusually hard, and even if you think you have the right answer, you're probably wrong. I think I have cried over this class twice a week.

Unless you are passionate about this subject, don't take this class. Some weeks you will have around 7 hours of lecture to watch in addition to literally memorizing the textbook if you want to do well on exams. I have no idea how this class constitutes 3 credits. Its not. I've put more work into this class than into 5 credit courses.

If you want to learn about abnormal psychology, Bonnie knows her stuff. She is not messing around with assigning stuff. If you are serious, you will do fine, but some weeks are too much in my opinion for assigning. All in all, however, I would suggest the course.

I spent more time reading, studying and watching lectures for this course than classes in my major or minor. Tests do not cover concepts, only minuscule details that are mentioned for maybe one sentence in the textbook. Upwards of 150 pages to read a week plus multiple hours of lecture material. I can't believe this is a 3 credit course.

I usually like online classes, but I did not like this one. I would not recommend taking it unless you have to and enjoy the content. Majority of your grade comes from tests that are very difficult. Each week you need to read 1-2 chapters and teach yourself the content because the lectures do not cover the content from the book.

I was so excited to take this class but I was majorly let down. There is between 1-2 modules every week: each module contains at least one textbook chapter, between 1-3 hours of lectures, a quiz, and sometimes a writing assignment. Besides the high workload in this class, the lectures are also so old. Some of them are from 10 years ago!

Tons of reading-"drinking from the fire hose" content-wise. as long as you can get through the reading chapters and retain AMAP you will do well on exams. Its very simple, just read and test on the book. Can be annoying with super specific stats from book, etc. Long lecture videos, always over an hour. Def do online mode I'd hate in person for this

Way too hard for an abnormal psych class. If you do not need to take this course do not. Reading 50-100 pages in the textbook every week with 1-3, 1 hour +, lectures videos. Tests are very textbook heavy and questions are always so specific. Lecture videos are like 10 years old too. She is a very nice person tho. Do REP points!!!

I did the fully online version, so it's hard to say how this professor is in-class. What I will say is that this class is EXTREMELY homework heavy. Do not take if you don't need to/aren't completely interested in the subject matter. It was kind of a shame, because I felt like most things this class was comprised of could be looked up on google.

Her lectures were great, and were very helpful. I disliked the textbook we used, especially as most of the tests were based on the readings. A lot of memorization and I would only recommend taking if you have a strong background in psychology. Homework/quizzes were not hard, but the exams were difficult.

Decent class and professor. The content was interesting. There was a lot of textbook reading and some lectures. If you put in the work to memorize the concepts you should do good in this class. There are also a few extra credit opportunities that helped me a bunch because the grade is mainly based on four unit exams.

Treat it like a 4-5 credit course, despite being 3. The amount of reading is CRAZY, on top of video lectures that are HOURS long. You will read the textbook front to back, meaning multiple chapters a week (each one being about 45 pages long), and exams are almost completely book based. Take a light load, or be ready to cut back on other classes.
