very very very very easy!!
Very good instructor! Has a lot of experience and knows her stuff!
Good teacher. I like her.
Tests are not that easy, read book in addition to notes. Offers plenty of extra credit, take advantage of it.
Very Very Very Hard, and if you do the homework you have to tell your answer to the class or you don't get credit.
You're screwed if you don't read the book. What she lectures on and what is on the tests match up failry well, but the book is the rest. If you have to take the course, i recommend her though.
Highly recommended. She knows everything about anything... ask! its true! She tells a lot of stories about her family and how she plays tennis! She is a great professor though... easy class just study and its pie!
I took her for Micro and Macro, definitely a plus. The take home tests are very hard.
Great teacher. Knows everything about everything. Tests are not hard, as long as you put forth some effort into studying.
she is always willing to help and is very clear when she lectures. and her tests are easy most of the time. take her for all economics classes.
she's the type of teach you wished taught everything. she is very helpful and makes all the reading understandable. the tests are hard so studying is a major priority
Tests are killer but she's awesome...gives extra credit and is always always always willing to clarify anything that you don't understand
Great teacher. Takes time to clarify the concepts. one thing: READ THE BOOK!! Her tests are not easy but she gives a lot of extra credit opportunities.
Being in class is so much fun. Her test are very hard, but if you do litte extra credit here and there you'll be fine.
This teacher has got to be one of the smartest teachers I know! She is excellent, can talk intelligently about ANYTHING, and is also a great help when you need a boost with your grade!
I took this in the summer A term and it was hard. The tests are pretty difficult even if you study alot. I got a b in the class but I did alot of extra credit, including a 5 page research paper.
good teacher overall. hard test studing helps. def have to pay attention but if you dont all is not lost you can have a chance to make up points with extra credit. i definatly recomend doing extra credit even if you dont need.
I took her for duel enrollment, and her tests are HARD! You have to study like crazy & really have a good attention span or else you won't do very well in her class. I'd recommend taking the shorter classes on MWF if you decide to sign up for her class.
She was very hard to understand. Most of the students in her classes got a C or D on the first test, and that was a take home test.
she is so boring i kept passing out during her class she just does not try to get us involve and her test are hard
Superb educator! Sets the standard for teaching excellence. Exams are very challenging and will stimulate your ability to think like an Economist. Extremely knowledgeable and very articulate. Plenty of extra credit. Flawlessly presents material. A gift to the student desiring a quality education.
She really knows what she is teaching, test are challenging but if you study it's all good, very good teacher for the most part. Not a bad choice to take her.
knows her stuff, gives extra credit which helps your grade, notes are confusing, assumes you know what her abbreviations are suppose to be. bottom line is read the chapters, you pass the tests.
Great teacher. If you work for it, you will get a good grade in her class. Lots of chances for extra credit.
Wow! She is very inspiring! You will learn a lot. I took the a telecourse, and there is a lot of work. However, if you pace yourself you will be fine. In addition, you will learn a lot in the process. Very intelligent teacher! Great attitude, wonderful personal stories!
Prof. Oliver was a very good straightforward professor. HW not too time-consuming, but the 4 tests were increasingly difficult. The research paper was a good experience. She should have covered a couple of more chapters and some more lecture time. Encouraged outside exploration of economics.
well, the class was a tough one, I did extra credit and did my best to earn a B, 85% pay attention and study hard and you may end up with a B unless you got a long attention span. Challengin professor, she's also very smart, open minded.
Stories are far fetched, test are hard, lots of notes. But considering she teaches at Valencia, she not that bad. READ THE BOOK, and you will do fine. (dont rely on the notes)
Very awesome teacher, study a tad, do your homework, and check your test's! one time she said i missed 10problems on a test where i only missed 5... it coulda been a D but it was changed thank god, very cool professor very clear:)
She's a good teacher, but unless you have a lot of time to dedicate to her class alone, I wouldn't recommend her. She's really tough. The exams are extremely difficult. You have to read 20 pages per class at least..twice! Over all, great person, but a hard class! GOOD LUCK!
Good teacher. I made straight A's in her class. She even let me borrow her copy of the text for the last portion of the term. Tests are easy if you study and there's an optional paper.
Dr. Oliver is really good. She def. knows what she is talking about- extreemly smart lady. She is very open minded too! Her clss on the other hand was rather difficult, tests are HARD, and she will admit that! But I would recomend her to anyone who puts a little effort into school.
Professor Oliver is a great teacher. She will give you all the notes in the world. Actually most of the class is notes. There is some take home tests also. This class is a hard class, you should expect to do the problems several times as she only goes over them once or twice. Also expect to read the book. Honestly it is hard to get a C.
Dr. Oliver's class is very interest. She relates economic theories with current events, so u won't be boring in her lecture. But her test is very hard. Be sure you read the book several times before the exam. She will test you in every details!
I recomend Dr.Oliver, but be cautious. When she says to read the book, she means it! Her tests are not what she says they will be, so read, read, read. But she is very easy going and YOU will come out with something gained.
No homework, just 1 research paper. 4 tests which are extremely hard, but 2 were take home. Read the book for the tests. Gives sooo much notes. Nice lady but hard to walk out with a B.
Very knowledgable professor. You do not want to miss any classes because of the amount of notes taken. Dr. Oliver kept the class interesting but her tests are extremly hard. Luckily 2 ended up being take-home but those were hard just as well. when she says read the book, she means READ THE BOOK! I recommend her if youre a Bus. Major, not an easy A.
She is a great teacher. Hard, but interesting. she makes things easy to understand. but you HAVE to read. she sneaks in quizes on the reading just to make sure you read. and always have a few current events on hand. i really learned a lot and in no way regret taking her class. it was hard, but worth it.
Extremely hard! Too many notes that aren't on that test. Take home tests are hard too. Do your current events and extra credit, they give you 15 extra points on your test! It's the only way you will pass! I didn't do good on my tests, but with 15 points, I got all A's and B's. Still ended up with a C. She is really hard. I would never take her agai
Currently taking it honors. Professor is very easy to understand and helpful on subject matters. Does give quite a bit of hw, like current events and reading packets but I found it easy from previous experience in other classes. Test are extensive therefore u have to read the book to do good. Does give extra credit tho. Would recommend this teacher
Loved this teacher! She is very sweet and helpful! I had her in high school for dual enrollment and passed easily! Do what she says and you will be fine!
I highly recommend this teacher. VERY helpful. Current events are required. A lot of notes. Homework here and there, lots of quizzes. Test are hard if you don't study, studying is a must. Notes cover the chapters VERY well however she skips things just to make sure you read (they'll be on the test) im in high school and pulled a B so if you got any
She is professional. She teaches well and her notes are very useful. Study when she tells you to. Willing to give complete answers when asked for help. Do the current events (mandatory), vocabulary (extra credit), study (notes & book), and you will easily get an A. This class isn't hard, but will require effort. I'd recommend her. Took her in HS.
Great woman. She really knows her stuff. Keep up with your assignments and reading and you will pass easily.

Worst online class I've ever had. Very, very unorganized. She gave us the wrong url for the quiz website each of the five times I told her it wasn't working. Then, she didn't compensate for it at all.
She is great, very human and undertanding. I really liked her and I highly recomend her.
GREAT TEACHER!!!! Very Helpful...really knows what shes talking about.....keeps you interested...if you read your book and take notes you will pass....not easily...but you will pass...
she is a very intelligent human being. writes notes from the top of her head and knows exactly what shes talking about. make sure to read and do the hw. she gives out extra credit if you answer the hw questions, write your vocabulary words for the next test and if you correct your answers on the previous test. tests are worth 90% of your grade.
I enjoyed her class in high school so I took her again for microeconomics. She is a friendly lady, very knowledgeable. She relates economics to real life to make understanding easier. Do all the assignments she suggests and study and you will be fine. Personally I thought the class was kind of boring, but then again, I prefer numbers, not words.
I took her class a long time ago at UCF a few months before she got her PhD. She is a great instructor and very helpful. Her dissertation is just as interesting as her class, so if you can get a copy I recommend you read it, she starting working on it as an undergrad so it's very thorough. She knows a lot about Russia and the fall of communism/rise
Professor Oliver is every educated and well-rounded. There's no extra credit, but her lessons are very organized and easy to follow.
Her test are so hard. I was taking 5 classes when I took her. Spent 75% of my time doing on this class, however , the result do no show my efforts. She will drop your GPA, Doesn't reply to emails, useless, I will never take her again, nor recommand her to anyone. trust me : if you want to drop your GPA,then take her.
I was reading the comments about her,I came to the conclusion that Ms. Oliver is probabaly writing them. I agree with the previous comment, her test are so hard, she will drop your GPA,and by the way only her opinion that matters. I took her 2 semesters ago, she does a lot of talking about current events, while we are supposed to lern economics.
Hard class. Did not like the textbook which is basically where she gets her test questions from. Professor Oliver is friendly and wants you to do well, but the class is just sooo hard. Quizzes are hard (C's are good in her mind) and tests are equally difficult.
Professor Oliver is a nice person. She lackes the method to communicate with her students.A test is not supposed to discourage them since most students in her class will get a B or c.test are so hard as if she wants to tell the world you CANNOT GET AN A IN MY CLASS.Current events is a waste of time,30 mn is spent on events not the subject of econ
Professor Oliver is a nice teacher, but her class is very hard!! gives a take home test that you'll be lucky to get a C on, she give very little extra credit, and by extra credit i mean, 7 points for a 5 page paper. first 30 mins of class talk about current events and uses the rest of the class to read off the board. nice lady, but dont recommend!!
I agree. Test and quizzes are ridiculously hard. They are all application based. She talks, doesn't teach. Lecture notes help, but you have to spend a lot of time studying, and maybe get a C. Would not recommend. Economics is a hard subject and Oliver doesn't help to make it any easier.
Ms. Oliver is a GREAT teacher!!!! This class was not only educating, but entertaining. Test are usually essay's straight from notes or basic common sense, gives you xtra time to turn in late work. Bought the book but wasn't even needed. Take this class its fun and you'll learn a lot too.
i took the summer term B with her, the class flew by I got a B in her class, the tests are not hard, you just have to read and study the vocabulary! DO THE EXTRA CREDIT! the 5 page paper worth 10 points was not hard at all. the quizes were not hard either, mostly online quizs, the inclass quiz we took she made it extra credit since the class faild
This class is awful. I took Macro at a different school and thought it was really interesting and easy. She talks about things in class that are not on the test. Tests are long and complicated. She makes up the questions to the in-class quizzes and they DO NOT make sense. Stay away from this class if you like your teachers to actually teach you.
would not recommend this professor at all. spends her class time discussing irrelevant and uninteresting subjects with mindless students. pretty much just reads from the power points and expects you to ace her tests just by reading the book. severely disorganized when it comes to tests. exams are contextually incomprehensible.
All I can Say, is if you pass her class with a (B) congrats you are genius!!!
This class is awful. She makes up the questions on the in class quizzes and most of the time you can't understand what she's asking. She'll test you on things that you NEVER talk about in class. Don't take her if you want a teacher who will actually teach you.
The instructor is extremely clear and helpful when needed. She will not let any student fall behind and is more than willing to help. If you have any questions or you are not understanding something, do not hesitate to contact her!
To be short shes sometimes on point. Always talks about irrelevant things rather than the subject. Sometimes I feel like shes changing the subject for a reason. She does not give good powerpoints because they are never on the test. You need to READ the chapters twice to pass this class. I suggest highschooler attitude be changed in this class...
Teacher is hard. Class size is large for a community college and she takes attendance meeting. Exams are really hard and quizzes are really easy. Same thing every class, lecture then a powerpoint that has nothing to do with the test questions. She lets you use your laptop and phones though. READ THE BOOK
Terrible teacher...learned more about her grandson then Economics. Very unorganized and last minute teaching style. If your looking for a good grade dont take her!
I took her for micro online, I don't think she realizes she actually still has to teach the class even though it's online.
She constantly goes off on tangents. Power points are somewhat helpful but the real key to getting an A is to study the chapters. Honestly showing up to class is a waste of time and you would be better of using that time to study, but I?m a suck up and wanted the easy attendance points. There is no class on exam days either which is nice. All quizz
you do 4 to 5 chapters at a time, you have a quiz on each chapter. usually have 2 weeks to finish the quizes then an exam on all 4 or 5. 4 exams total and about 15 quizes. questions are very hard, she tries to trick you by wording them weird. lovely lady but hard teacher.
This is by far the best teacher ever! I honestly had no intrest in macro-econ. at ALL but she really makes it easy. All of these negative comments come from lazy ass people so dont listen to them. Actually come to class, listen, take notes and you'll be fine! I <3 Bonnie Oliver(:(:
Do not take her. She is constantly ending her sentences with what, she words her quizzes so that you don't understand the question being asked and you will honestly not learn a thing in this class. Do yourself a favor and take James Chase, excellent and fun teacher. You will learn more from him about this subject than with her. Your Welcome.
I took her for MACRO and even though it was an onsite class, all of the test and quizzes were online. Sounds great except for the fact that she prides herself on trying to trick you because you get to use your book. She's often off topic and isn't always clear in answering questions. Find another professor because she's one of the worst I've had!
Teacher always attends class.Read book/section before class, highlight key ideas, the answers to quizzes are right in the book).Take the exams in groups i recommend. She tries to give you everything you need to pass the class, she's not very easy to talk to, doesnt stay on topic much in her lectures. Mainly read the book if you miss a class.
shes awesome. very friendly. the class is very easy.
TERRIBLE. I took Micro online and she had 4 conflicting dates for the SAME assignment. Online due dates contradicted the syllabus. I then took her for Macro and once again conflicting dates resulted in me missing the final exam and bringing my B to a D. She let me retake the final, but never posted updated grades and I am unable to register at UCF.
She is a excellant professor. i take her online class and its very easy and the guidelines are simple and she gives you multiple tries to get a good grade on tests
Take this course if you want to teach yourself macro economics. Spent literally 30-45min each class talking about her trips to China, Italy, and Spain. When she got to the actual material she breezed through some powerpoints. I got a B only because of some fluffy assignments that help bring your grade up. Plan on reading....a lot.
Dr Oliver is a hard professor...would not take her again; this class was so hard, and her weekly homework assignments are to much..you dont have enough time to study chapters because you to busy writing essays..and assignments. 2 to 3 assignments..4 quizez and a test every 2 weeks..online..to much
She's very nice, but her sociology class was very boring. SO easy though, I reccomend her for socio. Everything is from the book and all tests and quizzes are online. class is boring because she just babbles on and shows powerpoints that you can access on blackboard. But yeah, nice and super easy.
While the class grading structure is rather easy, Professor Oliver is not a great instructor. Those who seek to truly learn the concepts of economics should look elsewhere. She is not clear in her explanations, she feigns knowledge when questioned about certain current events, and she invests a majority of class into talking about unrelated things.
Quizzes and Tests (except for final exam) are extremely easy and can be found online. She records her lectures and posts a ton of video links to watch. If you want to really learn about economics then watch all videos and go over all content but if you are just looking for an easy grade, you won't have to. 2 written assignments and 2 current events
She will talk about her grandson and her trips to foreign countries a lot. Sometimes (rarely) these stories relate to the class, but most often they don't relate to material that appears on the tests. All her tests are online and answers are googleable... and we didn't use the book once I paid money for. (She made it seem as if it was required)
She was one of the worst professor I have had at vcc. I took her as a hybrid class, worst mistake. She NEVER discusses actual work in class, literally just takes about her life as if we care. Takes forever to respond to emails, and hardly updates your grade. I would never take her again!!!
She is a kind woman but not a good professor. Never responds to emails, even if they're time sensitive! She gives a lot of extensions. Does not teach the course work at all. The lectures do not match the tests (which are taken online). Quiz for every chapterExam every 4 chapters. I did not learn economics and have been struggling this whole time.
Does not provide helpful feedback. Takes forever to grade assignments. Always talks about her life and all the traveling she has done. Does not let students speak. When students try to speak her favorite words to use are "Let me finish."
I took Microeconomics online. She is very vague in her emails. I don't believe she fully understands how to upload assignments onto Blackboard. Out of nowhere, the class is emailing each other and her about what these new 20 assignments were that popped up that were supposedly "due" earlier. We've never even seen these assignments before.
Not organized. Provides extra credit workmultiple attempts at tests & quizzes. Slow to answer emails. TestsQuizzes do not match reading materialpresentations. Class is self-taught. Complete all your work and keep records of everything you submitand grades as you progress. Stay focused and READ READ READ - it is the key to passing her class.
I worked really hard in the class and I passed with a C. I did all of my work, showed up to most of the classes, did all of the extra credit, and even was diligent emailing the teacher about problems or questions I had. This is the C I've ever gotten. If you can take another class you should. The teacher is a tough grader and doesn't lecture well.
Course is self-learned. She contradicts her assignment's and doesnt clarify the requirements for what is assigned. Had BIG decreases in my grade because she took points off on things that were never stated problematic. Was deducted points for plagiarism, WHEN I CLEARLY CITED AND GAVE CREDIT TO MY SOURCES. teaching technique is all computer-based.
I took the online course AFA2000 and Dr. Oliver gives you your assignments and you can work on them ahead of time and she gives multiple tries on the quizzes and exams. In addition, she also gives extra credit. She does respond to emails quickly, but she does not grade written papers quickly. Do the work, you'll pass!
Took her online class. Def going to have to read, as she assigns quizzes on each chapter, with 4 tests, 2 written assignments, currents events, and 2 extra credit assignments. Tough grader, but if you follow directions you should be able to get a good grade. The assignments are spaced out, so you will have plenty of time. Overall, meh and tough.
Dr. Oliver is a nice woman but her class is sorta confusing and unclear. Don't expect to learn anything unless you read the book for fun. However, it is an easy class that is easy to pass, you just won't learn very much. I took this as a hybrid class so it was lectures and everything else online.
GOOD PROFESSOR
Not skilled at teaching the material in an understandable fashion. Half of the class time is spent discussing irrelevant topics or personal life. Even when teaching economics material, it is difficult to understand and she, herself, seems unsure of what she is teaching. Not clear about expectations or due dates and often changes them without notice
Very poor communication throughout the entire semester. Took her online section and the syllabus rarely matched up with the content on blackboard, and she mixed up many due dates which left me unsure of what day assignments were actually due. Multiple attempts at taking quizzes and tests plus extra credit, but the entire course is self taught.
Took online for Macro. All work done on "myeconlab", once you get the flow it is cake. All work can be found online. Responds to emails and makes extensions on quizzes deadlines and offers extra credit. About 4 current event papers due. I am horrible in math and got a A! Very upset that she does not do Micro online! Would definitely recommend.
Hybrid class. Tests and Quizzes are online, but impossible. Doesn't teach, all she does is talk about personal life. Don't take if you're looking for an easy grade, take another professor. Hard grader too!
Excellent teacher, i enjoyed my time in her class, unique way of teaching, course is hybrid, i learned a lot from her, shes funny at time, also very very nice, shes a tough grader but i mean you cant have everything easy. I would definitely take her class again.
Dr. Oliver went some extra distance for me. She had an excellent set of class resources. However there was a problem which was not immediately apparent. When it was discovered and brought to her attention she quickly built a set of alternate resources for me and saved my grade. Sadly took some heat over it. BTW she is very Bright!
It is a lot of work but she makes the assignments clear, works with the students, and gives multiple attempts at completing assignments. You may lose some points on some of them but it beats a zero.
Summer course is content heavy and quizzes/exams covering multiple chapters!!!
I took her at East campus for a flex term, so everything was fast paced. She does give you a lot of materials to help you succeed such as textbook outlines of chapters, youtube videos and she does give her tests on my ECONLab. As long as you read the chapter, then do the quizzes. You'll be set.
This teacher really knows her stuff, shes very inspiring she gives really good life lessons and is very truthful. She is very good at explaining economics I would definitely take her again.
I took the class online, she requires a book but i did not buy the book and i passed with a B. Test are very easy (Found answers online) and easy essay questions. Just took it for a credit and shes also very understanding.
Took online and had an easy time, passed with an A. If you do all the study questions for the quizzes you'll see that all the questions are exactly the same. SO DO THE STUDY PLAN. Also she gives extra credit. YAY EXTRA CREDIT!
Dr. Oliver was amazing! She gives lectures for every chapter and follows up with videos and power points that are also posted online. Rarely any in class work, almost everything was submitted online. All quizzes and exams are always multiple choice, with current events. Very inspirational woman! Her stories are fascinating and relate to the subject
She sometimes likes to talk about her personal life but you shouldn't mind because if she gets too off course she'll give you extra time o complete your assignments. She lectures on every chapter and if you pay attention and take notes you're good. If you take her hybrid then you're set for the semester. Open book tests and quizzes online.
I absolutely love Dr. Oliver! You write A LOT in this class. All the tests and quizzes are essays. But none of it is hard, just do the work and you will pass. She also gives a chance for extra credit. Dr. Oliver works with each student, there are second and sometimes third chances. Take them and do your work.
This class is a lot of work but it helps your grade. There are 4 unit tests, 4 chapter quizzes per unit, 4 written current event, 2 papers, and extra credit. So one bad grade won't ruin your final grade. If you do all the work and read her feedback to improve your writing you should be fine. You must be disciplined for the online class.
Dr. Oliver is for sure NOT the best online teacher I have had, but the course is nothing too intense or hard. Most of the class is through MyLab which I liked better than Blackboard. She is very specific on what she wants in writing assignments so don't expect an easy A on those. TIP: Put all the due dates in your calendar, don't procrastinate.
I really liked Professor Oliver. I took her class online and learned more than I thought I would. The videos for each assignment were not too long & pretty interesting. She also gives an extra day for each assignment to be turned in. She assigns a lot of work, but other than that the class is pretty easy. As long as you do the work, youll pass!
She taught course material up until chapter 4, then after that she basically just told personal stories and didn't teach anything. I had to spend hours studying because I didn't know any of the material, and even miss class twice to learn material because I didn't have time to learn what she should have been teaching in class. Easy A
She was very efficient for the first few lectures, explaining things very clearly and making sure everyone understood, but after a few lectures she just kind of seemed to stop caring. She did nothing but tell personal stories and with the amount of homework and difficult concepts it made it very difficult to keep my grade up. its a "Teach yourself"
This class should be an easy A but she sucks as a teacher. From the first 3 page paper she told me I did great and like everything but gave me a 92. When I asked her what was wrong she did not answer me. I passed this class with a 89.8... Really? i hated this..
Very easy class your tests are essays your are mostly writing no multiple choice EVERYTHING IS SO EASY
Class is just lectures and notes. There's a 2 page current event after every test, but it's pretty easy. Your grade in the class is basically based on quizzes and tests, and there are kinda difficult. You won't use the textbook in class but you do need to purchase it because it has a code that you need to take the quizzes and test.
Everything was fine in this class until halfway through the semester she decided to change the weight of assignments. I went from a 84 to a 77. It was out of no where and it was upsetting. Finals day came and three assignments she said were for extra credit became mandatory out of the blue. Takes forever to respond to emails.
poor professor
She gives essay after essay. Thats all youll do, short quizzes and essays. She doesnt actually teach. And she asks the SAME questions on different written assignments. Literally word for word! If you dont wanna have to write essays 25/8, DONT TAKE THIS CLASS.
Professor Oliver was extremely kind and was a very sweet person. Most of the work was online and was fairly easy. She is a very funny professor and is very available and understanding if you need help.
be prepared to right a lot of essays. My issue with this professor is during finals LITERALLY 1 day before the semester ends she sends us an assignment saying how most students didnt see the module.. But she never added it . Then she realized she messed up and wanted it to Seem like we never saw it . Doesnt really teach either
I do not recommend her online ECO2023. She makes many mistakes in terms of Canvas assignments: She made mistakes on the due dates, duplicated one quiz while missed the other completely, and despite being questioned and promised to fix, she never responded again or fixed it. She doesn't respond emails. I feel she doesn't care much about students.
She copied and pasted assignments from a previous semester, fine, but she didn't change the due date which was before our semester started! We couldn't open it and asked her to change the date so we could open them. She didn't respond. Then all a sudden, she changed the due date and now everybody is late and everybody has a 0 on these assignments.
Messes up due dates & blames it on tech but it happened 5 times in a row where I have to email her multiple times about her closing the test early and she doesn't respond, it's clear she doesn't care. Her class is completely based on the book & she never gives instructions or extra help, just assigns hw, tests from knewton & essay for chapt.
All work except papers were on Knewton Atlas. Every week had one HW and one quiz on a chapter both worth 20% of the grade. Every 3-4 chapters there would be a final exam worth half the grade and a 2 page paper that is mandatory on current events related to chapter content. Fairly easy except for the exams. Wasnt harsh on grading papers.
She assigns too much work to where you dread the class. We're three weeks in and have already done like 4 mini essays plus her other assignments. She wants almost all responses to be half a page but gives you extra time to complete assignments (with points off ofcourse). 4/10 wouldnt recommend, it's about to be a long summer
Dr. Oliver has to be the most questionable instructor I've had in all my years of existence. She will change the due dates of assignments to be due earlier or days later with absolutely no warning. She refuses to give out 100s on papers. I find her exciting and intelligent; but, the grading is just out of hand. There is no pleasing her, it seems.
Was tough but not in spite but rather to see you grow.
Professor Oliver is a good professor, there wasn't a ton of work and it was fairly easy. Everything is common knowledge just go to the lectures and listen to her.
It was disheartening trying to teach basic macroeconomics concepts to Professor Oliver since she has no grasp on this topic. Could not explain concepts in course material, that I assume she designed, or handpicked. Selected "difficult" because incompetent wasn't an option. Professor Oliver tries, but the class can be a hit or miss. Lectures are mixed - sometimes clear, sometimes rambling. Assignments and exams are challenging, but manageable with the textbook and resources like Unstuck study. Overall, an average experience.
She is helpful, and is very clear from the start. If you need help you'll get it. Sometimes the assignments are hard to do on your own, I definitely recommend having someone or a tutor to lean back on. But the class is not horribly difficult, but it's not easy.
I only liked this teacher because she doesn't use honorlock or lockdown browser, and her work is manageable and short. However, she gives like 60 slides for you to read before you start the homeworks, which is way too much. Overall if you're looking for a no honorlock teacher and a class where you learn a lot, this is for you.
