Just right for any ECON/BUSINESS major
Had him for microeconomics a year ago. Excellent teacher. Very optimistic, very friendly. A+.
Really cool teacher, kind of hard to understand because of his accent. Gives out a good amount of extra credit. I would tell everyone to take him.
He is so nice. I took his condeced class and got an A a high school student. You have to study but only the notes that he writes down. Lots of extra credit and an all around fun class. Some people have a problem with his accent.
Great teacher, very engaging, lectures are neat and very easy to follow, tests are straight-forward and pertain to material...also a very nice guy who is helpful and easy to follow (despite the accent). I am trying to take him as much as I can.
He is very enthusiastic. Take his class!! You will like his class.
Boo Su is the Gucci equivalent of an Econ Teacher!!!
He has a thick accent so don't watch his lips move, it will be like a kung foo movie. He is always talking about Gucci and being funny. Tries to keep the class attentive and fun. And succeeds.
Funny teacher makes an extra effort to explain things if you dont understand. Loves to talk about Gucci everything and always adds an s to every word.
One of my best teachers! He explains concepts very well and tests from his notes. If you study you will do very well. He will drop the lowest test score and offers extra credit. Class is always interesting and I highly recommend him.
He is a super! He has accent, but you will know what he is talking about. He is knowledgable. He knows alot of things in terms of Economics and Finance. His class is very easy to follow. He will tell you what he exactly needs. Cool dude!!
he is a really cool guy. He is not hard at all. you should be able to recieve an A in his Class if you follow your notes, you barely use your books. His tests are doable and not hard. I would definetly take his class again.
He is very knowlegable teacher, and very helpfull, but his gradings are not that fear !
Easy A, Tests are based entirely on the notes. I never even read the cover of the book let alone anything inside it. Very clear and makes sure you fully understand the subject. Gives lots of extra credit, but its not needed because the tests are so easy.
This guy is an AWESOME teacher. His notes are clear and concise, and he does a great job at explaining things. Funny, entertaining, and an all around great teacher.
i never understood what he was saying because of his accent (everyone else seemed to though). he is a great guy and he seemed like a good teacher...if i could only understand him!!
A born entertainer! Never missed a class. Keeps you on the edge of your seat, he gave us some fun groupwork assignments as well as pseudo fed meeting debates. Very cool! Be about a Gucci A+ with Dr. B.S.!
Good teacher. Entertaining. Class wasn't too hard. The tests seemed to get harder as the course went on. But he does a review before every test. All around good teacher. I'd recommend his class.
He is a great teacher! He wrote all the notes on the board before class so you knew where the lecture was going. I would take him again if I got the chance!
This guy is AWESOME i may of not got the best grade in the class but i tried my best and he still passed me. That guy is a gucci saint.
excellent teacher. very helpful. very funny. you will enjoy his class and walk away with much more info thank u think. go for it.
AWESOME teacher. SOOOOOO FUNNY. COOL guy. you have A LOT of fun while learning at the same time. he talks about "GUCCI" apples and butter a lot and it is HILLARIOUS. tests are only 30 questions each and they are pretty easy. he prepares you well for his tests. he is overall an AWESOME GUY!!!
The material was kind of confusing. The test weren't that hard. Gave you the formulas you needed and the pretests questions were on the tests as well so there were easy points. Definetly entertaining. Gonna miss his complaints about Microsoft stock, and gucci butter examples. lol.
helpul, clear, lot of extra credits. Take him if you want to pass. Gucci teacher
Very easy teacher if you just follow up with the class. He has all the notes up on the board before class so it is pretty easy to follow, but he can move pretty quick at times. His tests are easy if you just go to class everyday and study your notes. You rarely even need to open your book.He also gives out a lot of extra credit. He loovveess Gucci.
YEA BU. this guy kicks ass. easy teacher but it is kinda hard to understand what the hell he says.
Funny guy...i like him!
Boo Su is the man. Just make sure you wear your gucci shoes and you will get some gucci butters... :) Class is cool, Boo Su is cooler. Do your reading and your homework and you'll get an A. Unless you dont like gucci steels...
Dr BS is great!! Makes it damn near impossible to fail. TONS of extra credit. Puts all notes on board b4 class and is easy to follow, the tounge is a bit hard to get use to, but Ive had him for 2 classes now and it sounds totally normal. takeS economicS withS himS heS aS greatS ProfessorS
He is a very good teacher. Has many jokes. Likes to tell funny stories in class. The best part about his class is that he gives many extra credit points, so that will really help boost up your grades. He is a very good teacher! More power!
Loves Gucci! Very nice man but is hard to understand because of his accent and material is confusing. A lot of the T/F & MC test questions are worded in a wierd way. Short answer test ?s come straight off the notes. He gives extra credit and it isn't hard to get an A.
Great Teacher! No homework for 201 and as long as you pay attention to the lectures, it should be an easy B. I reccomend taking Boo Su!!!
AT FIRST I DIDNT LIKE HIM BUT HIM N HIS GUCCI SHOES GREW ON ME! IT WAS AN EASY CLASS TO PASS BUT A HARD CLASS TO GET AN A IN! HE OFFERS ALOT OF EXTRA CREDIT N U HAVE TO DO IT TO DO WELL! TESTS ARE T/F, MULT. CHOICE, AND 5 ESSAYS (HES A TOUGH GRADER!) OFFERS A BONUS TEST TO REPLACE A REGULAR TEST! BUT IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO PASS! FINAL WAS VERY HARD!
Great teacher! It is easy to get a B in his class if you pay attention and take notes and an A is possible if you just study a little before the tests. It's damn near impossible to fail because of all the extra credit he gives!
Class is very clear and straight forward. Do the extra credit and study the notes from the board and there is no reason why you shouldn't get an A. Tests mostly from lectures, so go to class.
awesome teacher! people say they cant understand him, but if u ask questions, he always clarifies. i suggest taking him for econ.
He's good teacher~ take him~! and if you want the text book e-mail me i'll give you cheaper than our bookstore..Like New~!
pretty easy class. no homework or classwork ever... the only assignments he gives are extra credit and extremely easy.. tests are realy short but hard to get a good grade on unless you really put the effort into studying
I read the comments about him here. I thought it would be an easy class but It wasnt that easy. He gave us make up test but it was harder than other test. Not that good.
The only reason his class is hard is because Economics itself is the epitome of annoying to learn. If CoC has a weakness, its the Econ department. Boo Su I truly believe is the only good Econ teacher on campus. Cruz, Templer, easy paths to a C or below, and lots of headache pained nights. Boo Su is your best chance at CoC to pass Econ. Take him.
well, a lot of people says he's super easy, but that's not true.I read those reviews and took his class but it was pretty challenging. you actually have tot study a lot and the extra credit that he offered isn't that helpful either. and, if you miss one lecture, you will get lost.
Dr. BS is a funny professor and makes econ interesting not that many professor can make a class like econ interesting. but that way he teaches made me want to learn more of it. Test are some what hard but all you need to do is really go over your notes and a least read something from the book. you should really attend his class if you want to pas
Excellent teacher. Hard to understand at times due to his accent. Make sure you attend EVERY class! Tests are somewhat difficult. If you study you will do well.
If you're going to take his class, make sure you do ALL of the extra credit... Three points will move you up one whole letter grade. tests were worth 30 points a piece. So you have to really really really study the notes and do the extra credit....seriously......
He is an AWESOME PROFESSOR! i hated econ but he makes everything so clear! I loved his course! the best part is, that he gives you a mini review the day before the test and if you study that, you should get a solid A. (well in my case it was so) i guarantee you that you will love him! oh and he sometimes side tracks about his past failed careers =(
Kind of corny but it worked for me since it made the class go by fast. You need to really understand each & every concept to do good on the tests because they're sort of tricky. Do ALL of the extra credit, it pays off. Gives really good review sessions before tests. I definitely recommend Dr. BS. "How dare you?"
Great teacher.Tests can be tricky. 3 tests worth 30 points and final worth 60. Do all extra credit. If you study you will be fine
this professor is very nice but has a very thick accent. hard to understand. tests can be pretty hard and tricky. study for the tests and do the extra credit and you'll be fine.
I love Dr. B.S.! His notes are comprehensive and easy to understand; you don't even need to read the book except for the homework problems. The tests are easy, straight from the notes, and he tells you what's going to be on each test the session before. Do all the extra credit, it really helps. Class is never boring, he's a really funny guy!
Everyone says he is easy.well, if you learn by remembering then fine he will be a breeze. But if you need to understand how everything works..this might not be the best class for you.1)he says every word in plural 2)lengthy examples and you'll get lost in them "so what is the point?" 3)test questions sometimes are tricky. No homework points just tes
Be prepared for gucci bananas.
There are 3 tests worth 30 pts each, 1 bonus test worth 30 (replaces lowest grade), and the final worth 60 - all multiple choice. Homework will only help you if you are borderline, I recommend doing them since it's easy anyway. Do the extra credit! Easy points! Study from the notes cause everything on it sums up the test. Overall great teacher.
Unless you can understand a ridiculous Korean accent dont take him. I spent half of the class trying to figure out what the hell he was saying. Lectures were really dull and dry. I spent the other half of the class looking at the clock.
I TOOK HIM FOR MICRO AND MACRO. MY FIRST SEMESTER WITH HIM I WAS TEMPTED TO DROP BECAUSE HE CAN BE HARD TO UNDERSTAND BUT I HUNG IN THERE AND ACTUALLY FOUND HIM TO BE FUNNY & ENTERTAINING. THE HOMEWORK IS EASY BUT THE TESTS CAN BE CHALLENGING JUST REALLY STUDY THE NOTES. THE DEBATES ARE EASY.
He really cares and wants to help you but his accent is thick and you don't know what he is saying sometimes. There is a total language barrier because his wording on extra credit assignment and test questions are awkward. When you ask for help, he just gets excited, and talks very fast and you get nothing out of it. Ch1 easy, but the rest is hard.
Dr. Su is a very smart guy. his class was hilarious. especially all of the "gucci" examples. the tests are kinda tricky, but if you study then u should do fine. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT! it will help you. the lectures arent as bad as i thought. the discussions are awesome. i wouldnt mind taking him for another econ class
His class wasnt all that bad. yes he is hard to understand, which is more of a reason to pay attention. Do his extra credit and you will be in good standing. His first three tests werent unreasonable, his final was tough, but it was a 5 week summer class. Be prepared for everything Gucci. He is a great prof. def not unreasonable for college level
....you think you're in good standings until you see teh final. final screws everyone over. hes a good person, but totally sucks at english and you might have a hard time understanding his heavy accent. final is WAY too hard. sometimes they dont even make sense. dont take him -_- trust me. maybe 2/30 in the class got A's. ...take at your own risk
I took his summer (5 week) macroecon 201 class. 3 midterms & a final. The tests get harder as you go. He is a very nice guy, but I thought the final was ridiculous. Pay attention in class and do the extra credits. Overall, it was pretty tough. Apparently, he's one of the easiest econ teachers...
He is a funiest frofessor I never had, He like using Gucci though the lecture. Read book, and asking unsure question, you can pass his class.
definitely a passable class if you attend, take notes, and study. you have to try to fail since there is so much extra credit. i would definitely suggest to do the extra credit, it really helps out. to get an A takes more effort, you have to study harder and take really good notes. he's hilarious and makes the class so comfortable to talk in.
I took his class during the 5 week summer session. Worst mistake of my life. Having to sit in his class for three hours a day, 3 days in a row was nothing short of torture. He is difficult to understand. Definitely do the extra credit. The final is awful,I had an A all semester, studied well, and the final destroyed my grade to a C.Stay away!!
He has a thick accent but takes advantage of it to make the class funny. Tests are straight off the notes, but he sometimes rambles a bit
He is a pretty cool teacher. Kind of hard to understand with his accent. Just pay attention and take notes. You should be fine with passing the class. If possible do as much extra credit as you can. He compares eveything to Gucci. Funny guy (or tries to be) but is very helpful. Knows his stuff
I love him!!! He is the best Econ teacher I have ever had. I have taken him for both macro and micro Econ at COC. He really is great and his humor is one of a kind. Tests are not easy though, but I recommend studying his lectures thoroughly.
Great professor, The class was online and in class. you would only have 3 tests and extra credit to help you. Great teacher
Prof. Su is HILARIOUS! I honestly tune out anytime people talk about economics. He does have a thick accent, but he makes economics quite entertaining. Do your work people! It will pay off. Do yourself a favor and stay on top of your reading, so you can ask him specific questions in class. Do the extra credit as well. :)
Such a cool teacher!I've screwed up on a majority of the tests but I still have a B because of the extra credit. The word "debate" may scare a few people but really all it takes is for you to write 1 page on a topic, say 2 sentences in front of the class, and your previous test grade gets raised by 10%. Thats it! Plus he's very funny
Professor Su is funny at times but he does have a thick accent which makes it hard to understand him at times. His exams are fair but the final is very difficult. Do the extra credit if you want to pass!!
Funny professor but tests are not easy though. Unfortunately he does not offer credit for hw, but does offer 3 extra credit points for 2 assignments.
Be sure to pay attention to the test review. he pulls all questions from there. has an accent.
Great guy but hard to understand. No need to read the book if you pay attention in class. He gets off topic often which can be boring and a waste of time. Easy class overall and you know what to expect each class and each test. I can't decide whether I want to take him for ECON 202.
He is funny, nice, and knows what to teach. I loved this class! He made many jokes and made the class going. I highly recommend to take this teacher. If you pay attention to his lecture notes and test review, I am sure that you can at LEAST get B.
Easy class if you pay attention and read the book. He says what will be on the test while reviewing for it. He goes off on random stories a lot during the lecture. He gives easy extra credit. His accent is kinds hard to understand, but you get used to it. I recommend taking his class. Oh and he uses gucci as an adjective for everything.
great professor, teaches the material very well and is pretty funny. 3 tests and 1 bonus test as well as a cumulative final. easy extra credit. overall pretty easy class. definitely taking him again for micro
Great teacher! He offers a lot of extra credit and is very helpful and clear!
AMAZING! I seriously love Su! I took him for both Econ 201 and 202 and I am so glad I did! He is awesome and entertaining! He made Econ interesting! He tells you exactly what to study for his tests, and he offers a lot of extra credit opportunities as well. Highly recommend.
Took his Honors MicroEcon class, a very good teacher. Knows exactly what he is talking about and is pretty entertaining. He does have an accent, but it's not too hard to understand. Makes the content easy to learn and also provides plenty of extra credit opportunities. Excellent professor.
professor su is awesome. fairly easy class if you pay attention. tells you everything that's going to be on each test
Fun teacher, Gucci everything. Take the class... you will understand.
Professor Su, is a good teacher I took Econ and the work was pretty easy for the most part. make sure you do the work and you will be fine. I was scared to take econ but highly relieved when I saw the workload, and I passed it so definitely a good class to take.
Easy class. Offers plenty of extra credit. Got a B in the class thanks to his extra credit. Exams are pretty easy. Just study a little bit for each exam and you'll do fine.
He is a very laid back teacher who likes to have fun while teaching economy. He does have an accent but it isn't that bad. If you walk in with a Gucci purse on the first day, he will probably give you an A (he LOVES gucci).
Gucci is what makes his world go round. Very good and easy teacher. Take Him!!! he is very nice and understanding.
Smart professor. Fair class. Hard to understand sometimes. He tells you what is on the test. But the final is hard.
GUCCI GUCCI!! AWESOME PROFESSOR THAT HELPS TO MAKE A TOUGH TOPIC UNDERSTANDABLE. BE SURE TO WRITE EVERYTHING THAT HE SAYS THE DAY OF THE TEST STUDY GUIDE BECAUSE IT IS THE TEST. I DIDN'T USE THE BOOK AND JUST PAYED ATTENTION TO WHAT HE STRESSED DURING LECTURES AND GOT AN A. WENT UP ALMOST A WHOLE LETTER GRADE JUST FROM EXTRA CREDIT. TAKE ADVANTAGE
HORRIBLE professor. I took his macroeconomics class online and it was impossible to pass. I have taken economics classes online before and loved it, but this professor makes is extremely difficult. The homework had nothing to do with the material on the test and was only worth 1/2 of a point; not even a full point and the tests were worth 50.
Online short term macro in fall. Based on $80+ access to Thinkwell video lectures (not prof's). I didn't want to pay that for a 2month course that I only took for credits. Just 4 kinda hard exams so EVERY POINT matters! Tiny xtracred but do it. I am an A student & w/o Thinkwell I passed with a B. This class is probably better to take in person imo.
Great professor and straight forward course. Take time to watch the videos in order to properly do your homework and take the quizzes, that is all you need to succeed in this class.
Professor Su is a great teacher, he has made economics my favorite subject. Participation makes it an interesting and fun class, and you learn so much. Look out for the final, but if you study and participate, you will earn an A. Great teacher, so Gucci.
His grading is a weird because homework assignments aren't counted towards your grade. Only the tests count. He goes over exactly what will be on the test so as long as you're willing to study a little bit this class is an easy a.
Professor Su is amazing. His class is a little tough, but he helps make a difficult subject understandable. He is also hilarious, he uses gucci as an adjective to describe everything. His final is the hardest test, so make sure you study. Would definitely take him again.
His class are fun. He has his own sense of humor. what I like about him is that he teaches with simple numbers which really help us with the concepts. The test are okay, the final is the hardest, however, he tells you what to expects . take advantages of the extra credits like the news reports and debits. they really helps.
Su has very difficult exams. Tests are super detailed and not much you can do about it. Google doesn't help at all. Wish i would've taken it with different professor. I studied and read and made this class a priority but still got a C. Lots of hw for an online class
He is a very hard professor to understand. Really nice guy but do not expect to get an in-depth lecture from him. HIs study guide for each test is given 15 mins before the previous class ends. VERY hard tests. His online class is way better so try and take that before you take his lecture class.
Boo Su is a great professor, I really enjoyed learning Economics through his online class. His class consists of 100 points: 3 tests, 1 final and short answer. Assignments and tests are due Saturdays or Sundays. His extra credit is homework & discussion boards. All his test questions come from Thinkwell so you must do exercises and read his notes.
Professor Su is honestly a cool guy. Offers a few extra credit opportunities and class is very straight-forward. But he is impossible to understand with his accent, tests are hard, and final was impossible. Tells you every topic that will be covered on the tests , but if you don't study you're screwed. Went into the final with an A, left with a B.
If you have to take an Econ class, take Boo Su's online classes. You use a website, Thinkwell, and if you do the notes and the practice questions on Thinkwell, then you will get an A in the class! It's kind of a lot of work, but the test pulls questions from Thinkwell. If you take the time to practice on Thinkwell, you will ace every test.
Boo Su understands not every student is excited to take Econ, makes an effort to say a few jokes and act a little silly, offers a lot of easy extra credit opportunities, and has a test review with pretty much all the answers. I recommend you audio record him on the test review and take pictures of the slides. Accent was funny and easy to understand
Professor Su is very fair, his class is difficult but if u go to the lectures and take notes u shouldn't have a problem passing. 4 tests 30 points each with a final worth 60 points, he takes your three best scores and ur final. Class is worth 240 points, he offers extra credit and this is a MUST do. All answers are in lecture, didnt do hw all year
Gucci Dr. Professor Boo Su is one of the most intelligent professors I have ever taken. He is extremely knowledgable about economics and makes difficult concepts much easier to understand than the textbook. Econ291 was a difficult class, but his lectures and extra credit opportunities make it possible to achieve an A or B with enough effort.
I really enjoyed taking Dr. Su's class. I learned a lot and he encourages feedback. Very engaging with the students. If you really want to learn about what is going on in the markets, you will learn from his class. Show up on time, participate in the extra credits and news articles, all these will help. He really wants to help his students.
Professor Su does a great job at introducing economics, his lectures are informative and interesting, Gucci will be used a lot. Tests are a large part of the grade. Homework is assigned but does not account for much of grade. He does give option for extra credit.
I really enjoyed the class. He has a slight accent, but he's still very clear and helpful in all of his lectures and responses. He offers quite a few extra credit opportunities, and I highly recommend that everyone does them. He goes over what's expected in his class as well as content in tests. On top of it all, he's funny and usually cheerful.
Do all the extra credit, you'll get a letter up on grade. Really awesome professor, Very knowledgeable and very hilarious. You will learn some real thing.
will definitely take his class again
he's obsessed with gucci!! love this professor ! he keeps material interesting by providing stories & analogies; he makes things understandable/ basic; read the chapters ahead of class because he expects you to know the material so that you can ask questions inclass. so many extra credit assignments which will boost grade largely! will take again!
He can sometimes be hard to understand but overall a good teacher. He lets you take pictures of the notes and make sure you show up to the class before test day.
Awesome teacher with no bs your entire grade for the online class is basically 3 test and a final. Very straight to the point all of the test questions come directly from thinkwell where your lectures are located. Do well on the test and you will effortlessly get an A.
Professor Su is awesome! Its a very straight forward course and you cant really BS the tests but if you study then you should have no problem. There is a lot of extra credit opportunity so DO ALL OF THEM!!!! All the extra credit matters. His lectures are pretty funny and laid back. Highly recommend taking this professor!
Taking the class is an easy A. All the test questions are based on the thinkwell program that is required. There are a lot of sections to review, but they are directly pulled from the practice problems. There are 3 tests worth 40 pts each and the final worth 70 points with a short answer that is 10 points. There are 8 points of ec.
He is a hilarious professor and assigns lots of extra credit. He tells you what will be on the test but has a heavy accent
Personally, I am not interested in economics at all, so I wouldn't pay attention to any of his lectures and had no idea what the material was about. I memorized based off the study guide and scored B's and C's on the exams. I ended up with a C in the course. He offers a lot of extra credit, SO DO THEM ALL!
Professor Su Boo has an accent, but he is mostly understandable and easy get used to accent. Almost all of the grade is tests, but there are extra credit opportunities to take advantage of. The class time before every test, he goes through the study guide. Make sure to pay close attention to study guide. He teaches subject well. I recommend.
Clear lectures, and easy exams. Makes concepts easy to remember and also provides many extra credit opportunities.
Took this class online and it was a class to work for. If you want a good grade you definitely have to do good in the tests/quizzes as well as do the bi-weekly homework and discussion thread. Also, do the work on thinkwell. Homework questions are hard if you don't understand the concepts so really study the material. Overall, not a bad class.
The exams can be difficult so make sure to study and do all the extra credit assignments. The debates seem intimidating but are actually very easy, you're only required to make an opening and closing statement. The homework is optional but I highly recommend you do all the assignments. Overall I really enjoyed the class.
Typical online class, just do your work and take the tests and you'll do fine. Test questions literally come straight from the thinkwell questions which makes tests pretty easy to get an A on, provided you put in the practice. Thinkwell videos are pretty tedious as well so I also bought the Econ201 textbook from Su's normal class and just read that
The professor gives 4 discussion post total throughout the semester, though the prompts require thorough research! He is pretty critical about what you write on the discussion posts, so be clear and try to make sense. The tests are multiple choice. Easy class overall but not easy material, I do not understand economics very much.
Great professor enough said.
Boo Su is AMAZING. He's hilarious and always makes his students involved in order to make the class more interesting. He offers so much extra credit it can literally bump your grade up a whole letter so take advantage of that. And he goes every question of the study guide before the test, so pay attention. PS he LOVES his Gucci products.
Math is not my strong suit, but he helped me along the way. He makes you laugh and will help you pass!
Easy online class. 1 Class discussion, hw assignment and exam every 4 weeks during normal semester. Very few assignments and tests. I think there was only like 220 points total or something, so every point counts. No extra credit. Tough grader in terms of hw. Exam questions based off of mostly thinkwell. Would take again
Took it online over the winter, it was a straight forward easy class 4 test including final with a short response as the essay for the final 4 homework assignments and thread discussions the tests were based on the practice question in the Thinkwell book Btw the lectures in the textbook were not helpful at all
Stupid easy online class. 1 hr of work a week lol. Grade is based off of exams, homework and discussions. I think it was 330 pts total. Exams are based off thinkwell questions (online program) and hw is mostly based on his online notes. He's a picky grader with homework, but overall, stupid easy A. You do not need the book.
This online class is a hit and miss. Some people get easy test questions while others get insane ones, my friend was the first and I was the latter. Both times when I took the test there were many questions that couldn't be found anywhere. When I took 201 I had easier test questions so I did not expect this. Keep this in mind if you want an easy A.
do all the extra credit and do not skip class. you will need the book just understand the topic a little more. he has his own power point for his lecture. he is pretty easy but it is a lot of work to get the A. i took both 201 and 202.
Professor Su. is by far one of my favorite teachers. He's so chill and laid back and the class is super stress-free. He's a really funny guy and oftentimes uses Gucci to explain his examples. Honestly, just take pictures and study the slides he puts up on test review day and you should be ok on exams. Make sure to do all of the extra credit/HW.
I have taken both online and in person classes from this teacher. He cracks a few jokes, which can ease tension, but still somehow he is a little robotic. Seems like a very rushed stiff man sometimes, idk how to explain it. Offers extra credit, but doesn't help much so study hard. Online class was pretty hard, very picky on the hw and discussion
Prof. Su was pretty funny and casual. Homework wasn't due, but he ups your grade a bit at the end if you do it. Extra credit, but I don't think it does much. Three tests and a final, all in my opinion somewhat difficult for a macro class. Book is needed for homework. If you miss class, you can always ask for the slides.
Professor Su is super boring and wastes half the class time talking about unrelated things. However, his test are super easy to pass being that he gives you all the questions to the exam to study AND he offers soooo much extra credit. Hard to not pass the class with at least a B
I took this course online. I did homework only 4 times in the semester and a test once a month. Really easy course if you can manage your time. Everything is straightforward. She's great at communicating expectations.
I took the 5week course and honestly this class was straightforward and easy as long you do the homework and discussions. The only bad thing is the long video lectures on Thinkwell which you don't have to watch. Just study the practice questions which are going to be on the exam.
During the COVID-19, we transferred to online. He was already teaching an online class so he just put us right in there with them. He did NOT help us what so ever with the transition, which made it so difficult. There were only 8 assignments all semester and 4 tests, so if you do bad on anything, your grade drops. would not recommend at all.
Note: there is no extra credit in this class. The syllabus is a little unclear on that. He's a good professor. The Thinkwell videos are great but each chapter is several hours total- plan accordingly. I learned a lot in this class. I wish there were more assignments so each test wasn't such a big part of the grade. I'll take another of his classes.
All the test questions are from the Thinkwell quizzes. Watch the lectures and you'll be fine. They are long so don't wait to the last minute, but you can skim most of the videos. If you're really good at memorizing you can honestly just memorize the Thinkwell quiz questions and answers and you'll be good on the test. Pretty straightforward class
Pf. Su covers a lot of material, hwvr, u can easily receive a gd grade bc the ch. tests r a direct reflection of the Thinkwell quizzes. Some of the Thinkwell lect. r long (tip: rvw the notes & then test yr understdg). The final essay is bsd on his lect. & writn assg. He even gvs u a cheat sht to study. *B thorough in all yr writn assg. *Grt class
First assignment: 5 paragraphs. First Discussion: 5 paragraphs w/ 2 more paragraphs in responses. Curriculum was 22 (7min+) video lectures w/ notes & exercises. Must use Proctorio for exam, no notes allowed. No real guidance, Profs Zoom office hrs no mic/no cam. Way too much time/effort required for 3 credits IMO.
I took an accelerated on line class over summer. Make sure you watch all videos and do all the quizzes. The test is based on your quizzes on Thinkwell. My best advice is to take the quizzes more than once for your test. Take them a few times to have it down. Proctorio tests so no cheating allowed. Discussions and responses required but easy.
Very easy. About 4 hw assignments, 4 discussion questions, and 3 exams and 1 final. He is super easy to reach and very helpful. Tests make up most of the grade. I recommend taking this professor
Watch the thinkwell videos and complete the quizzes and youll be fine. No stress
Took him online for Econ201. Used Thinkwell for the entire semester all test questions come straight from the practice/review questions from the Thinkwell chapters. He offers consistent office hours and is available really quickly via email. Grades everything same day! Take him he's good!
Super easy professor! All we use is Thinkwell which is where most of our test questions come from and he grades super fast!
The online class is easy and the homework load is fairly light. Just do the thinkwell and you'll be okay. However I'm convinced that the professor is a literal robot or uses an automated bot for communication. That means emails and comments. Don't pay too much attention to it, just get your easy credits.
Completely online. Buy a $65 textbook from thinkwell. That is what really does the teaching. Put the lectures on 2x and repeat the classworks and you'll do great. Very straightforward. He does not really have any extra credit but i have never needed it. I too micro and macro with him and got both A's
The whole class is on Thinkwell where you just watch videos and answer questions which then show up on his tests. Not crazy hard and there is a lot of time between assignments.
Dr. Su is a great professor caring, knowledgeable, and experienced. His class is well-organized and he responds to emails quickly. I also find him entertaining with a good sense of humor. Su is easy-going and makes students feel comfortable. He provides a good environment for learning without stress. Highly recommended.
Professor Su is possible one of the best professors I have had at COC. I took him for Macroeconomics during winter semester. Though this was a condensed class, it did not feel like a heavier workload. The week consisted of one discussion, 5 word problems, and a test. EASIEST GRADER EVER. You could literally copy and paste from Google and get 100%.
Very independent class. He assigns hw at the start of the week and you can complete it anytime before sunday midnight. Discussion posts are a pain. Class is easy.
This is my 2nd time taking his class as the first time was for ECON202. I can say, his class is amazing. Online Learning course is required. All homework and discussions are based off of real world situations, and the videos you watch online are 100% relevant in both the homework and tests. I would recommend taking any of his classes he may teach.
Professor Su was the best professor I have worked with so far! The class is very straight-forward and very easy to pass. All test questions are repeated questions from Thinkwell so please pay attention to those mini quiz questions on thinkwell! Good Luck to everyone interested in taking Professor Su's class! You will thrive!!
Great Professor. The program "think well" is very helpful and the tests and most assignments are based on the videos and exercises on the program. He is a pretty easy grader and the workload is completely doable.
He is a bad communicator. He is not understanding and I would not take him again.
BEWARE. This teacher does not teach whatsoever, quizzes and tests are impossible without outside research. You are expected to know everything going into this class. Extremely harsh grader deducting points for missing punctuation and grammar errors. STAY AWAY UNLESS YOU WANT TO FAIL.
harsh grader (the large majority of your grade is only tests and quizzes) with like 15% participation. do not take it is so much work
currently taking as a high school senior. this class is hell (5 week term is 6 assignments per week that are harshly graded) nobody gets an a
Disregard any negative reviews. Prof. Su was the best (and funny at times). His grading is clear and up front. Do the work and you'll get an easy A. If you have to take econ 201 or 202 please take him. Hw and test were easy.
Mr. Su's the BEST professor (Micros & Macros) he's courteous & sends reminders. He's flexible (don't take advantage). Practice assignments on ThinkWell and you'll pass test's with good grade. Weekly DB and 1 other assignment, all easy work. He reply's promptly. The best part is he GRADES QUICK, so you'll know where you stand along the semester.
He's a sweet person but I did not learn a single thing from him. He would assign Thinkwell chapters and lectures every week and have an assignment about it. Tests and quizzes are literally the SAME QUESTIONS on the practice questions from thinkwell. His discussion questions were so confusing. In the end, all he did was assign thinkwell chapters.
I really enjoyed the course material that was covered in this class. All of the lectures, notes and practice quizzes are found on the Thinkwell site. (1 discussion post, 1 test, and 1 homework assignment a week) Great class!
Dr. Boo Su's class is perfect. It is streamlined. The modules are Direct to the point and easy to understand. Yes, we would have to study, but one will really learn. The class lessons were very well thought. He is direct to the point but very kind, easy to talk to and responds to messages. One must be very lazy to not pass his class.
You'll Ace it.
Mr. Su is great professor. Took both ECON201 and ECON202 and do not regret it! The homework is pretty simple and as long as you do the hw, the tests are easy. Took an online class and he has lecture videos which are a bit boring, but explain most of the information. If you had to take anyone for this class, please take this professor!
I took this course during summer and it was so easy. I bought the textbook but didnt even end up using it because the assignments are easy and the tests/quizzes are on quizlet. Super easy class and free A!
Professor Su is the best, Canyons is lucky to have him. He uploaded videos explaining important concepts and is really helpful when you ask him for help. He cares about us man! Im taking his Fall 23 class right now and he always responds, helpful videos and lectures. really knows how to help his students and make sure they are doing well.
This is my second Econ class with him, pretty easy class and he's nice. If you can get him, do it!
Very kind and a great professor. I took a hybrid class, so most were online with some in-person lectures once a week. Likes to crack a joke during his lectures and is very straightforward. Video lectures are also straight forward!! Would love to take him again!
He gives assignments every two weeks. You just have to write about current events and take a test every so often. Pretty easy and pretty good lectures.
I took the 4-week winter class. Somewhat easy if you make time for this class and stay on top of your work. You're required to buy the $65 Thinkwell course, make sure to read the syllabus to find the discounted course. All the tests are based off Thinkwell. Don't be scared to take this course (winter or not), you'll do good!
he is awesome, he uploaded YouTube videos to explain the assignments and gives great advice on what to study for. Thinkwell is cool too because you can really understand the things that the lecturer is trying to teach. Boo Su is a national treasure. protect him at all cost
One of the easiest classes you can take at COC. His online class workload is nothing, take him during your winter or summer semesters to get the requirement out of the way and enjoy your break. Concepts are easy and interesting as well. Two or three assignments a week and then a chapter test.
The workload can be heavy, but with dedication and using study tools like Unstuckstudy, the class is manageable. Attend lectures, complete assignments, and you'll do well.
Very easy to get an A in the class if you turn everything in on time. You are graded on very few things since its an 8 week course. One discussion and homework every week, lectures are long and boring but you will learn a lot. All test questions are online. Missed final exam by 10 mins and he let me take it still.
I'm not sure if attendance was mandatory; I missed class a lot due to health issues, but I know he takes your good attendance into account if you're borderline on a grade. I wish I had been to all his lectures, though, because he's funny and drops gold nuggets. Most test material is from the online 'book' (lectures/practice quizzes). He's Amazing!
Keeps classes and lecture casual. Assignments very straightforward and simple. Is a fair grader.
It was so easy but do the work; I took this with two other courses in a winter session (5 weeks long) and passed with an A. The textbook is so helpful and interesting, I'm definitely going to retake him for ECON 202.
This class is relatively easy, however the online lectures are through a third party and the homework answers come directly from these lectures. Some weeks were as short as 5 hours of lectures while other weeks were upwards of 10-12 hours of lecture videos. However the quizzes are easy and there's no excuse to get a bad grade.
I love this professor! He was so caring even though I took this online. There were about three assignments a week since I took the 5 week course. They were a little heavy but doable. He wants us to succeed and is very respected by me! Assignments are not graded harshly as long as you do the work. Please take him for ECON-201 he is the GOAT!
I will never take this professor again and neither should you. I was removed from this class because I had one late exam and two absences. I have always turned my work in on time and have had good grades all through the class criteria. I was sick once which lead up to one of my absences. This teacher clearly only cares about himself.
Take him! His class is by far one of the easiest— if not the easiest class I've ever taken. Homeworks and discussions are due every month and so are the tests. Week 2: HW & Discussion due, Week 4: Test 1 is due. PLEASE submit your test and homeworks on time so you dont get dropped. He gives us lots of time to do those so there should be no excuses.
