I think this was his first semester at KSU (finance 3100), but he did good. the grade is made up from 7 tests and an optional final. as long as you review the lecture slides and the sample test questions, you should be able to get an A. 7 tests might seem overwhelming, but the lectures usually fly by and the material isn't hard.
Borhan did an amazing job teaching a difficult subject with tough material. His lectures were very informative, and his tests follow closely to what is gone over in lectures and he does an amazing job at making sure the class understands the materials and using relevant real world examples to explain tough content
The class was test-based only. 7 tests and an optional final (highest 7 test grades counted towards grade). A lot of extra credit opportunities. Attendance is not mandatory but highly recommended for you to go to class; he mentions stuff not in the powerpoint/book that will be included in the test.
Best professor! Take him if you want to learn and ace your class.
To get a good grade you just have to do the work and thats all. He cares and wants you to succeed.
Had Fin4220 with Dr.Sayedy. He quickly became my favorite professor at KSU. Very kind, cares deeply about his students. Corporate finance is challenging but Sayedy is experienced within the industry and is a talented teacher. I learned so much through this course. Dr. Saydey even helped me create a retirment plan for myself! THANK YOU DR.SAYEDY!!
Professor Sayedy is very attentive and caring, he listens to student feedback and he offers a lot of extra credit and is overall not a tough grader.
I really enjoyed Dr.Sayedy class and thought he was funny. Coporate finance is a hard class is but it's not that bad. There are ample materials to review for the exams and you have a great idea of what to expect on tests. Do the in class problems and you will be good!!
You are graded based off 4 tests and an end of semester group project. Theres no extra homework and if you attend the lectures and review the slides he posts, the tests are super easy. The group project at the end was a bit tougher but Professor Sayedy was helpful in all ways and took time to make sure you knew what to do.
He was a fantastic professor who would break down any problems you could have with that subject to help you succeed in any way possible. It can be a tough class but if you attend class and pay attention you will succeed.
Lectures were very helpful in the course. Finance was confusing in general, but he was actually there to help. He was easy to get a hold of if extra help was needed. Office hours and extra hours were clear. He really demonstrated wanting to expand understanding. Some of the course was confusing, but Professor was always down for questions.
Professor Sayedy is a very good professor. There were 7 tests and an optional final that replaced your lowest test grade. You are only graded on the best 6 tests. As far as Mr.Sayedy he is very caring and wants you to do well. He explains everything clearly and will not hesitate to help you however he can. I recommend him for any class.
Professor Borhan is an incredible teacher who strives to simplify the lives of his students while imparting the right amount of knowledge. He cares deeply about his students and his craft and is highly adaptable. However, it's important not to mistake his kindness for weakness. By working hard and attending class, you will be rewarded.
Professor Sayedy is a very easy-going professor. We are graded on tests, so those are important. Extra credit usually consists of if you come to class and participation. Study the lecture slides to help study for tests. We use Excel a lot so be prepared for that as well.
This was surprising easy for me I thought finance would be hard but he made easy. There was 7 quizzes they were online but had to take them in class always 12 questions but easy because it the exact question that on the lecture. Final is optional. And included with the extra two point he give extra credit. TAKE HIM
I can confidently say that he is an outstanding instructor. His teaching style is highly engaging, and he effectively uses Excel to enhance our learning experience. He is very approachable and always willing to help students outside of class. Whether through office hours or via email, he is committed to helping us succeed. I highly recommend him!
Very easy, tests are online and he didn't really give homework for my class
If you need to take Contemporary Economic Issues Professor Sayedy is your guy, 10/10 class I wouldn't take it any other way, he gives extra credit, he's kind and this class is not stressful at all, If you do the practice test you will pass the test, He's the best professor Ive ever had and we need more like him!
Lecture-heavy class, but the lectures are engaging and he posts the Powerpoints. Has review sessions before each test and posts practice questions for each chapter. Tests are online w/ lockdown browser so you dont have to come to class for them. On test days he hosts a class for people to come and ask questions if needed. 4 quizzes, 2 tests.
One of the greatest professors I've had. Professor Sayedy explains each lesson thoroughly and in an engaging manner. He doesn't overload his students with homework. He gives many extra credit opportunities and extra points for participation. He allows students to take quizzes/exams in person or virtually, and holds practices before every quiz/exam.
very good professor would take again, coming to the lectures was not mandatory as long as you took notes on your own time on the lectures. so many extra credit opportunities at least 15 extra points worth by the end of the semester and rounded your final grade by up to 2 points, ex 88 to 90. practice test/quiz exactly like real quiz/test too.
He's amazing. His lectures are informative and he takes time to explain, and not just read off the powerpoints. If you have questions he will answer them. He responds to emails fast and office hours are super helpful. He will round your grade if you're an active student. He wants everyone to succeed in his classes.
made class enjoyable! lots of extra credit. you have to really try to fail this class. easy A
TAKE HIM! Very easy and straightforward. There are no assignments, attendance isn't mandatory with everything posted online, he is very helpful, and test/quiz questions are all directly from the review/study powerpoints he puts out. He also gives A TON of extra credit stuff. Only downside is lockdown browser + camera but I think it's so worth it!
Very nice and helpful!! Gave lots of extra credit opportunities which makes it easy to pass the class. Offers help outside of class, no homework so textbook wasn't required and everything that is from the textbook he includes it in the powerpoint slides. Has quiz review slides which come in handy. Overall great professor.
If you are struggling on choosing an Econ professor, choose Professor Sayedy. His class is very manageable and lenient on college students as there are only 6 grades, 4 quizzes, a midterm, and a final, and his classes are lectures in which attendance is not mandatory. His tests and quizzes us lockdown browser but he provides study guides for each!
TAKE HIM!!! He's easygoing + offers lots of simple extra credit toward ur final grade. No hw, j 4 quizzes + 2 tests all w 11:59 deadlines so u dont have to take in class. Ldown browser w cam on required but the material's p easy. Review the ppts and/or attend lectures & ur good. Drops lowest quiz grade + rounds up final overall grade (ex. 88/89=A).
Great professor. Offers several extra credit opportunities and is very caring towards his students. Explains the content of the course very well and gives a lot of practice exams that translate directly to the quizzes/tests. Graded by quizzes and the midterm & final exam.
This professor is really laid back. 100% recommend
He gives plenty of extra credit and is constantly willing to help his students improve their grade. His lectures are helpful and clear which he posts the PowerPoint to D2L incase someone missed the lecture.
he was an amazing professor, I would 100% take his course again, the lectures are very easy to understand and to take notes off of. he has available office hours in case you have any questions. his quizzes are very similar to the practice quizzes he does during class as well as the practice midterms and finals. he also curves your grade at the end.
This was the BEST PROFESSOR i've ever had so far!!! His lectures are very clear and he explains the material in an easy way for you to understand. The class was so much fun and HE GIVES PLENTY OF EXTRA CREDIT! I would definitely take his class again. Also there is NO HOMEWORK. He is a very laidback and friendly professor available for office hours!
I enjoyed Dr. Sayedys' class very much. Quizzes and tests are online and to be taken anytime anywhere making it very convenient and stressless. He does not read off of a powerpoint instead he engages with the students and elaborates on key points in the chapters. I wish all my professors could teach and run their class like him.
Very highly recommended. The way he teaches is very astounding and very easy to understand. As long as you show up to his lectures and study the PowerPoints, you should have no problem passing this class.
Professor Sayedy was one of my favorite professors this semester. He had such great energy and his lectures were very thorough. There was little surprise during the course— he taught exactly what he tested on which I appreciated. The more effort/participation you put into the course, the more he rewards you for your efforts. Great course. Thanks!!
You can tell that he genuinely wants you to do well in the course and is always looking for ways to either help you or make his class and the material more accessible. Very generous with extra credit. He's responsive to feedback and requests to meet during office hours if you have troubles with something. Enjoyable class. I'd take him again.
Professor Sayedy honestly made the class very enjoyable. His lectures were engaging and he gave out a lot of extra credit for those who needed it. He listened to students for feedback on how they fared with their assessments and asked questions on improving the quizzes and tests. I would 100% recommend this professor to anyone who takes ECON 1000
He was a very nice professor. I did well in his class and received a 108 in his class by going to his lecture, doing the extra credit (he has so many opportunities for extra credit for your overall grade not for assignments), and using his many review resources (questions and practice quizzes). I would definitely take him again !!
very clear in his explanations and is very helpful aswell as receptive to feedback!
This is a super good and easy class. Attendance is not mandatory and you can easily get an A+ without hardly ever showing up to class if you just go through the practice material before the assessments. There are super helpful practice quizzes provided before each quiz/test. The class is lectures and then 4 quizzes, the midterm, and the final.
Super easy class, instructor cares about his students/ their grades. 4 extra credit assignments that are all easy and make it so easy to get an A in the class. Attendance not mandatory and one extra credit assignment is filling in a template for a retirement plan which is thoughtful and helpful outside of the class. 100% recommend taking this class
Professor Sayedy is an amazing instructor. He uses real-world examples, and you can take quizzes and exams from anywhere. All quiz and exam questions are based on the materials we cover in class, so you won't feel unprepared. He gives extra credit as well. The class is very flexible, and he genuinely cares about making sure the class succeeds.
Super easy class, lectures are simplified and he offers a lot of extra credit. His Econ class is easy to understand and I suggest going to lectures even though attendance isn't mandatory. He answers questions after class and he's pretty chill
He is definitely a great teacher. He does a great job of engaging with the class and the way he explain things makes it easier to learn.
As long as you stay on track, he makes economics very understandable when it's not that easy of a subject. Don't miss any of the quizzes and test. They're not that hard and you will get an A
If you're taking Econ 1000, take Prof Sayedy's course. Greets every class with a smile and is open to questions and feedback. Extra credit opportunities and he has office hours. No homework just tests and quizzes, so study well for those but he posts practice exams which are very similar to the real exams. Great professor, especially for freshmen.
He is a wonderful and an attentive professor! You can take your quizzes and tests anywhere since it's online. The textbook aren't mandatory to read but it could help in your understanding of the lectures. There's a lot of extra credit opportunities where you can get your grade up. I'd advice you to do all of them because it'll help in the long run.
Dr. Sayedy is an amazing professor. I ended with a 109 in his class. He gives up to 10 extra credit points that get added to your overall grade. There is no homework, you only have quizzes and tests which are lockdown browser with camera, but you can take them from home any time during the day so you dont have to show up to class. Great teacher.
He provides plenty of resources, extra credit, and support, so anyone can succeed. The workload was manageable, and the assignments were fair—perfect for those looking to earn an easy A without sacrificing learning. If you're looking for a stress-free class that's still educational, definitely sign up for a class with Professor Sayedy.
Overall a good professor. Posts all of his lectures online, and makes sure you understand them. Responds quickly to emails. He has quiz and test reviews before quizzes and tests. Many of the questions are shared and he makes sure you understand the concepts if you ask so there is no excuse not to pass. Gives a lot of extra credit. 10/10
Great professor. Gave lots of extra credit opportunities.
Very good at making everything simple to understand. My only worry was there were only quizzes and tests and no assignments. It turned out that the quizzes and tests were very easy. Lots of extra credit even randomly. I recommend showing up to class as it helps to hear him explaining things even though all the PowerPoint slides are online.
He is a really dedicated professor. His lectures are easy to comprehend, and the PowerPoint is straightforward. Participating in class is recommended because sometimes you get extra credit for answering questions. The book is not needed, but it is still a good read. Overall, I recommended taking his class.
Very good prof, willing to work with you if you have issues, constructed of tests that follow close to the study guide.
If you have the opportunity please take Professor Sayedy. He makes college so much less stressful and he is so understanding. The class is pretty lecture heavy, but the tests and quizzes are so easy. He takes feedback very seriously and wants the best for everyone. He is also great at explaining things when it seems like people don't understand.
Dr Sayedy was amazing, would recommend to anyone taking an econ class to take him. He had a lot of lectures but they all were very helpful and if you had a question he'd stop and explain the question on the board. Great guy!
Actually amazing. Class ended quick and I learned so much. Only had to do a quiz every two weeks that she gives study guides and practice for. I genuinely recommend her for anyone who's considering, especially if you're dealing with any other stressful classes, Professor Borhan was a breath of fresh air.
if you are gonna take anyone for ECON 100, TAKE HIM!! easy grader, gives you practice quizzes that are VERY similar to the actual tests and gives allot of extra credit. He also is very kind and you can tell he cares about his students. Very easy class and I would def take it again 1000 times over.
I am awful at econ, but he made this class enjoyable. He's responsive to students & asks what works best for everyone. His class consisted of PowerPoint lectures, which he posted on D2L, quizzes, and tests. He does use lockdown browser. He offered SO much extra credit. He is very passionate & caring. Plus, the class was only 10 weeks. TAKE HIM!!
The class is fairly easy if you learn the material. It's only 4 quizzes and 2 exams, and he rounds your grade. I blame myself on why I didn't have an A, but it's not hard to recover yourself with a B.
Makes difficult subjects easier to understand. Gives very clear examples and willing to answer questions and help whenever he can. Take his class.
Prof. Sayedy cares about his students and wants to see them thrive academically. All the quizzes are closed book/lockdown, but not difficult; you need to do the practice questions from the PowerPoint, and you'll do fine. There are no surprises, and the course was enjoyable, even to someone who's not a finance major.
Take him!! He's a great professor and made finance simple to understand. No homework, lots of extra credit opportunities. Definitely attend class - he is really good at explaining problems and concepts that you'll need to know for the tests :)
I really liked this professor and his teaching style! I ended with a C--I'm just not great at finance. He really tried to make the class as easy as possible. He drops your two lowest tests and even offers an optional final that can replace a test score, which was super helpful. Attendance isn't mandatory, but I definitely recommend going to class!
Great professor!!! Attendance isn't mandatory. Graded by up to 7 tests, you can drop up to 2. Extra credit is given. Lectures are helpful. Tests are like the study guides.
Great professor! Would take again. Delves into all questions with genuine enthusiasm and seems to care a lot about the subject.
Dr. Sayedy was amazing he is open to help at anytime and really cares for his students success as well as their financial understanding. If you want a Professor that teaches you real world financial problems and how to solve them this is your guy!
Take Him over anyone else!! Very fun classes, attendance optional, 5 quizzes & a project. All taken online (lockdown browser + webcam). Extra credit work is easy, also gives extra credit percentage points on top of final grade for answering questions in class! Strongly Recommend. I suck at finance & I still got a B (;
Professor Sayedy was a great professor and truly cared about his students. He always wanted to connect his lectures to real world problems that we may face. Overall grade is all tests and one group project.
Definitely recommend this class with Professor Sayedy, he truly cares for students success and is available for help! There are 4 exams and an optional final and a group project (online, lockdown browser/cam). Most exams are similar to his practice quizzes, so they are worth studying. Show up to class it's worth it!
He is a great professor and doesn't care if you miss class. You are only graded by 5 quizzes out of 7, but he offers a good amount of extra credit. He's a good lecturer and explains all of your questions well. He does a review lecture the class before the quiz, which is the most important to go to because it's almost exactly like the quiz. Amazing!
Dr. Sayedy is one of the best professors in Coles. He cares about his students and their success. He will help you in any way possible to make sure you understand the material and pass the class. There are 7 quizzes, and the two lowest grades get dropped. There are practice quizzes, and those are exactly like the quizzes. Gives extra credit too.
Dr. Sayedy is an awesome professor, but even a better person! He truly cares about his students and will help you with anything. I truly enjoyed his class. Lectures are not required but highly recommended because you can get extra credit points for participating. His tests are similar to his practice exams, so make sure you complete them.
Dr. Sayedy was a great professor overall. There were four tests with an optional 5th test, as well as a group project. Lectures are not mandatory however it is very helpful if you attend. He also provides practice tests prior to each test which are very helpful. The group project is challenging but he will assist if you ask and will grade easy.
Professor Sayedy is an amazing professor!! He grades 5 out of 7 quizzes and provides plenty of extra credit opportunities. Attendance is not required, but attending class is very helpful. The questions on the quizzes come from the lecture slides. He is very caring and is always willing to help.
He was a very caring professor. Took his time to explain everything, many extra credit opportunities. Sets you up for long-term success with his lectures by giving real-life examples.
Professor Sayedy is great for corporate finance! He makes an effort to make sure that the material he teaches can be actually applied to the real world. He does offer some extra credit, such as the retirement plan project, where he helps you create a retirement plan and really see the value of investing early on. Would highly recommend taking him!
Great Professor! His exams are very easy as long as you do the practice questions and attend lectures. There is one group project that was very difficult, but the grading was lenient. I suggest visiting him during office hours to get help for the group project. Also offers a lot of extra credit, I would highly suggest taking Professor Sayedy!
Dr. Sayedy is a great professor. He teaches well and ensures students learn and are prepared for exams. There's four tests plus an optional final to replace lowest grade, 20% on each exam. A difficult yet strong learning experience group project is the other 20%. Start it sooner than later.
I had him over the summer and overall he's a really great teacher. There were few grades, but everything was open note. There was really clear instructions on everything as well. If you're looking for a chill and easy econ class, take him!
Hes a great teacher! His lectures can be kind of boring because he reads off the slides mostly but there is incentive to actually going to class (like extra credit). He also posts all the slides he uses online so if you ever miss a class it's very easy to catch up. overall I would take this class again.
Super easy class with barely any work. You'll get an A unless you genuinely do nothing. It's just quizzes, exams, and a bit of extra credit. Simple A. Absolute W professor! I had a 90 in the class, and the extra credit boosted me to a 94.
Great professor! Your grade is based on four quizzes, midterm and final so make to sure study! He gives out a lot of extra credit! His lectures are great and they include practice questions. I recommend to attend the lectures even though attendance isn't mandatory.
The professor does require participation in class. Attendance is not mandatory, but be ready to participate if you do go to class. He is a really nice guy, and teaches well. Pay attention to due dates and you'll be fine
Professor Sayedy is amazing! He has structured lectures that make learning very easy. Class isn't mandatory, but I would recommend going to the lectures. The only graded work is quizzes, a midterm, and a final. Quizzes are directly from the lecture material, so no trick questions. He does offer extra credit! Overall great professor!
His lectures is very interesting and he gives out extra credit.
He's pretty easy if you pay attention to his lectures and even if you don't, you have access to the PowerPoints. Each PowerPoint has practice questions that are similar to the quizzes that he provides. Another thing is that he explains things really easily and he lets us do practice quizzes that are just like the ACTUAL lockdown browser quizzes.
He was a really great professor!!! There were no assignments besides 4 quizzes and 2 exams. He also explained everything in great detail, and even if you weren't in class, he posts all the material in D2L. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, he gives extra credit points if you actively participate in class.
Professor Sayedy was a great professor overall! I would recommend going to lectures because he explains the material really well. He wants you to participate as well during his lectures (which is extra credit) and his exams aren't difficult. Take him if you can!
If you pay attention youll get an A. Participation is not mandatory but it's important.
I had Dr. Sayedy for ECON1000 this semester and he was a very caring and passionate professor. When I was struggling in the beginning, he was very available outside of class and his office hours benefitted me greatly. He provides practice questions that are very similar to his exams, so I recommend paying attention and participating. He's awesome!!
He was a really great professor! He offers a lot of easy extra credit! We only had 4 quizzes, a midterm and a final exam but they were really easy because he offered practice quizzes, practice midterm and final exam which was extremely helpful. He's a very sweet guy and offered a lot of financial advice to his students. 100% recommend taking him!
Just do your work and definitely review his study guilds before test and easy A
He was a great professor! I'm good at econ but the material was very easy to understand but I also attended every class. He does a great job at explaining during lecture and easily accessible for questions. Definitely recommend you take him.
Dr. Sayedy is an amazing professor, taught very helpful and engaging lectures. As long as you show up, participate, and review the power points you'll pass. I missed a quiz and thought it was over for me, but I did the extra credit he provided and participated in class and ended up with like 15 bonus points and an A in the class. Take him!!
Dr.Sayedy is such a great professor. His lectures and test reviews are exactly like the exams. Also, his office hours sessions are really helpful. He's so kind and understanding, you should definitely take his ECON1000 course.
The textbook is not mandatory to buy because he puts everything you need in the slides. His class was super easy, no homework, only a few test. I would highly recommend going to the review sessions if your ever struggling on the test. As well as the extra credit if needed. Other than that overall a great professor!
Dr.Sayedy was great. His lectures were clear and concise, and he was great at explaining things I didn't understand. He also offered lots of extra credit opportunities which I appreciated.
My favorite professor of the semester. No homework or classwork and only grades the 4 quizzes and 2 exams. He took feedback from the class and gave wonderful extra credit opportunities. Hard to fail! Very friendly, easy to access, and no surprise quizzes. I hope to take him again in the future, wonderful class and teacher! Do the practices!!
very nice guy. in the middle of the semester he gives out a survey and he takes the criticism from it and learns from it which you dont see a lot from other teachers. I only got a B bc I slacked but this class is very easy.
I really enjoyed this class. Professor Sayedy is a great teacher and he tells you everything you need to know for the quizzes/tests. There is no homework and also opportunities for extra credit.
Absolutely amazing, one of my favorite professors I have ever had, although the class was easy, it didn't feel like you were just there for no reason, you still learned, and wanted to go, as the class is extremely interesting and helpful for life situations and understanding finances.
He was a nice teacher, and he kinda read the PowerPoint (all of them on D2L). He also explained the easiest topics the most and the hardest ones the least. He also asked us A LOT of questions for extra credit, which is good (lots of extra credit opportunities)(Sometimes uses AI during lectures). Overall, a good and helpful teacher if you need it!
Truly a good professor. Attendance not mandatory but heavily suggested. Tries his hardest to make sure everyone in the class understands criteria. No homework, grades are all quizzes but does allow for several extra credit opportunities. Had a fun and interesting financial freedom project for extra credit. All you have to do is try and you'll pass.
