This was a self-paced class.. you get to take the tests up to 3 times each..very rewarding..he is very helpful and gives great insight..I would highly recommend taking his class

Only take this guy if you want to learn Math. If you want to get an A and not know anything, take somebody else. If you need math in other courses, or plan on going forward in engineering, computers, science, physics - get in this class and do the work. If you want to waste your time, go someplace else.

Alright teacher. Loves his students and wants to make sure that everyone completely understands the material. Open to questions and doesn't mind when he's corrected. Would choose him again for further math classes.

The class was very challenging, but Prof. Nguyen wants you to pass and do well, so if you truely want to do well in the class he will help you in class, his office, or even the math lab. He does not grade homework, so it is important that you do the assignments and not blow them off. He has a hillarious sense of humor and tries to keep class fun!

Mr. Nguyen is a good teacher. I like the ways and methods of his teaching styles very simple and easy to understand. Professor Nguyen really cares about his students passing as long as they care. He has a lot on his schedule so if your not at his office during office hours don't expect any help. He's not an easy professor but realize the class isn't just for any person to pass. Bottom line is, if you don't put the time in any class then you won't pass.

Professor Nugyen is really cool. If you want to do well he will make sure you do well. Quizzes and homework are problems just like, if not EXACT problems from the homework he assigns. Do the homework over and over until you understand it, the homework isnt really overwhelming. The tests arent easy if you dont do the homework.

Boris is AWESOME! Go to his office if you need help, he's awesome with giving clues on what you need to know! He makes learning fun and if you do the homework you'll get A's on ALL the quizzes and tests. Homework is key and it's not overwhelming!

HE IS A GREAT TEACHER! He is a very helpful teacher. H.w. isn't graded but it helps you practice. Quizzes are pretty simple, tests are a lil bit harder but he prepares you enough. The only thing i wish he would do is give a test review instead of giving the concepts on the test. But he is an awesome teacher regardless!

His lectures and quizzes never matched his exam! Unless you are really good in math and understand the underlying concepts of math, you will NOT earn an A, and will barely pass the course if you study hard! I aced all quzzes, but barely passed exams even after feeling comfortable with the material. Not recommended if you do not conceptualize math!

I would recommend Boris to anyone who has a passion for math. A passing interest will probably lead to failure. He is very helpful and makes himself available as much as possible outside of class to provide help. Take advantage of his office hours because he'll give you some great practice material that is likely to appear on the tests.

He is the best math professor in Valencia after Vogel. He explains problems crystal clear, and unlike many crazy math professors, he speaks slowly and shows you how to approach problems step by step. Very organized and neat. His tests are straight from homework. Plus, he is very nice person and very respectful, and he is French ;) I got an A!

Opens his office to any student who needs extra help and also organizes time outside of class for students to meet. His tests are fair(not difficult but not easy). It would be more helpful if he focused more on homework and test problems rather than proofs because the serve no purpose on most tests. Overall he is an awesome Professor and person.

Very good professor. Extremely helpful, nice and has great sense of humor! His tests are not easy, and he does not give much time. Like we had only 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete 12-15 problems. Be ready for his tests, he may include the material from Calculus I. His quizzes are easy. The professor very easy-going. TAKE HIM BUT READY TO STUDY!

AMAZING!!! This is the definition of what a teacher should be. He cares if his students learn and will spend all of lecture going over homework questions if need be. He is hilarious and easy going. Tests are extremely fair and very similar to the homework. A bit stringent in terms of extra credit, but hey it's not really necessary if you do the hw.

Boris is definitely one of the best professors at Valencia. He definitely cares about his students and will work around with you if you have any situations. Class-wise he is very thorough with his material. You definitely should not assume that you'll be a master of the material with just his lecture. Definitely you're gonna work for your grade.

Professor Boris is great I just wish I practiced more math for his class so I can pull off an A. His test are very straight forward however, do not expect any study guides, as webassign will be your study guide which is good and bad. There were pop quizzes, then the rest are on webassign. There is no HW but key to pass do the online questions on WA

Professor Nguyen's class was made up of 4 exams, a final which replaces your lowest test grade and online quizzes which should "cushion" your grade. If you pay attention in class, study from the quizzes, couple book problems, and notes until you understand the concept... you should earn an A. He is an AMAZING teacher, really funny and French.

He is the best professor I've ever taken in my whole life. If you are committed to actually learn I highly recommend taking him. The best way to pass the class is to go to his office everyday, he will personally help you clear any difficulty you are having in calc 2.

Test are fair. Optional hwk and detailed lecture notes. Very good explainer. My only complaint is the webassign quizzes can be annoying when you type a wrong number by mistake and ur quiz grade takes a drastic dip. You'll do well if you find time to do the optional hwk. Final replaces ur lowest test, may drop quizzes to boost ur grade. Not hard.

Great Professor. You will learn a lot as long as you don't skip class . You must listen and take notes. He explains the topic very well. You should try to do homework even if it's not graded. Professor Nguyen was the best professor I've ever had in my life. A 2 and a half hour math class sounds like torture but it was always great with him! Honestly the best professor I've ever had... and I'm a student at UCF! He's very encouraging and seeks the best for all his students. He actually cares and is willing to help you if you put in the effort. Tests are hard no doubt, but it's calculus 2, almost expected.

This has to be the best professor at Valencia, no joke. If you actually ask him for help do so, he is very understanding, and willing to help no matter what. Calc 2 isn't easy, and many people will fail because they usually take Phys1 at the same time. Overall, grade heavy was on exams and quizzes online. Quizzes fairly okay, didnt relate to exams.

Professor Nguyen was an amazing professor! He is very clear in his lectures and provides great help and feedback when asked. He made the Calc. I topics easier to understand than I thought, and he really cares that all of his students do well and have their questions answered. He also handled the Coronavirus pandemic situation very well.

Out of the 9 different math Professors Ive had, Nguyen is the best! He really reignited my enjoyment of math. You will learn so much from him. He truly cares about his students and their success.

He genuinely cares about his students and teaches towards the grade; that is, he teaches exactly what he wants you to learn and explains how to get the best grade possible, and what he looks for when grading. I LOVE PROFESSOR NGUYEN, the man is a King. I definitely struggle in the class but that's on me for not spending as much time as I should have. However, he understood where I came from and gave me extensions on quizzes. Super sweet and gives really good feedback. He also responds to emails fast, which is great.

Only graded tests and quizzes. Take that how you will. Recorded lectures are great. DE is a difficult course, but if you pay attention to lectures, take notes, and do the HW as practice, you will pass.

Professor Nguyen is a very valuable professor at Valencia. He teaches math in a way that seems more "old-school" or traditional, but truly he just has a very good understanding of the real nature and spirit of academia. It is also very invigorating when he shares his knowledge, as he is well-studied and knows the field of math, as well as arts.

Professor Nguyen was an amazing professor through my time I took him for Calculus II, his lectures can seem long at times and complicated when he would go through proofs of certain formulas however, most of the sections from within the textbook are so much easier to understand after his lectures. This professor is special, and while my grade is not what I would consider my ideal, it is not indicative of the respect I have for Professor Nguyen. Attending office hours is a pleasure, and never once did I feel I had asked a wrong or silly question. He truly cares for his students, and if you show dedication and respect, he will respond in kind.

I would definitely recommend Professor Nguyen. You're graded by 4 exams (including a cumulative final) and quizzes. Retakes are provided for the first 3 exams but not the final. Exams are a bit tough but doable, he provides a lot of partial credit when grading them. This Professor really wants you to pass this class. Study well and you will pass!

Professor Nguyen is a caring and dedicated instructor. While the course can be challenging, his interactive teaching style and willingness to provide extra help make it manageable. Using resources like unstuck ai alongside the textbook proved very useful for my study prep.

Professor Nguyen is one of the kindest and most understanding professors Ive ever had. Apart from this, he does detailed lectures with tons of useful information. He responds very quickly, even when I had to pause work due to an emergency overseas. He gives credit even when you try on assignments. Would have loved to take future courses with him.

He is slow paced, but makes sure you are fully understanding the content without breaches. He will give you quizzes throughout the semester to see how you're doing and gives you amazing feedback. All of his tests are based on the quizzes that he will give, the occasional practice test that he gives, and the lectures that he posts. Do the homework, watch the important part of the lectures (where he is actually doing questions), and do the quizzes and you will be fine. Gives partial credit extremely easily on tests, so always try to think.

Traditional math class with 3 test and a final, the final replaces the lowest test grade. Great professor overall and easy to access at all hours. Does not curve but grades leniently. Recommend him 100% will take him again if I can.

Made calc 2 seems way easier than calc 1. He truly cares that you learn and will do anything to help. His test are without cheat sheets but he makes them simple enough where you dont need them at all. ( gives lots of points for even trying) He wants you to succeed more than anyone!!!
