Very interesting but absent-minded, forgot to give final exam
Dr. Ebo is hilarious! His Nigerian accent is SO COOL! He's a fun teacher who seems easy--but study! He's very accessable and willing to help. His message isn't always 100% clear. Ask questions and you'll be okay.
Ebo is a good guy. He let me take a test I came an hour late for instead of throwing it out. He puts on a very interesting class but is forgetful and loses structure in his syllabus.
His class is interesting at times, though he is very forgetful. Not a hard grader, but some of the test questions are tricky. Just go to class and pay attention and you'll do fine.
Challenging professor. He makes you think from different prospectives.
really nice guy, always ready to help. sometimes the tests are hard, but not if you study. you can also talk him into pretty much anything, like not having the final exam.
He always forgets to give tests and is constantly changing the syllabus. I had his class literally during the attack of 9/11 and he said something like, 'this is a challenging day, now lets discuss gender.' Hehe gotta love Dr. Ebo.
hes ok... not that great... very confusing..n none of hs lecturtes matter... he wants you to memorize the chapters... its impossible to pas his tests otherwise... had a hard time...
HATED this class. I really struggled. You have to know all these random dates and facts from the chapters.
It was always fun to go to class because he is such a moron. His class is pointless, i actually think i got dumber sitting in class. He doesn't even know the answer to his test questions. Cancels class alot which is a plus!

omg, what a freaking joke class, the only reason i didnt get an A was because i was sleeping the whole time
Ebo was a cool teacher. I can't remember what class I took with him, but he loves Heineken!
READ THE CHAPTERS AND GIVE HIM A BEER...ULL BE A OKAY!

I thought he was funny which made the class somewhat interesting. Otherwise, the fact that class was always cancelled made this class another plus. This class made the semester fly by!
It is a very pointless class, but it doesnt mean an easy A. His letcures have nothing to do with the quizzes, so you HAVE to read the chapters. Most of the time, he doesnt really know what hes even teaching about. But, giving him the benifit of the doubt, he is a very nice guy, funny too. And, NO final.
The class was easy, but Ebo is very unorganized.I handed in all the assignments and got an incomplete somehow. We talked about the same exact thing in every class. I didnt learn a thing.
pretty easy class. tests are mutiple choice and true and false. sooo easy. come to class. take notes and youll be fine
Mass Media Comm or Com Ethics. BORING. Doesn't know what he's talking about. Tells stories in class + chooses bizarre/disturbing case studies for class. Highlight the stupidest tidbits and worthless info in the book, they will be on the test. Don't even pay attention to his lecture, doesnt test on it. Lost two of my tests! extremely disorganized.
Dr. Bosah Ebo is an excellent teacher. He motivated his students to go ahead and do their best. He encouraged me to have confidence to express myself. I am glad I took that course. I will recommend his class to fellow peers.
He walks in the room as if he doesnt even know what class he is in or the subject that he is teaching. I couldnt even give you a hint on how to get an A, I got a B. He doesnt believe in Multiple Choice so everything is essay. Make sure you take notes during all the videos and write long reponses on the test. VERY DISORGANIZED, SAVE COPIES
Great professor, he really enlightened me on a lot of the issues that are going on around the world and i thank him for it. Not only a great professor but a great and loving guy.
Misses class all the time. Doesn't teach anything, but expects you to know everything on your own. Worst teacher ever. Unorganized. No matter how hard you try, he'll mess up your grade and give you a B.
from the "lectures," you'd assume the tests would be easy. they are not. studying is a must. that being said, he will always make time to discuss your grade and give you another chance if you need one. he was very helpful and i am going to take a class with him again.
Useless. Discussions and readings were all common sense. Lectures are long and boring. He always makes disgusting sexual remarks which can be uncomfortable at times. Not student friendly, loses papers, tests, grades. Very unorganized, never presented my paper, he always missed class, final exam had all repeated questions. This guy is a (_o_)
I LOVE EBO! He is the best Professor! The only people who have a problem with him are the ones who never participated. If you don't speak up he wont like you! The discussions are interesting he always brings up current topics in the media and the work isnt bad at all. There is only ONE project! The test are a little hard just study the book!
EBO is okay... At first i hated the man, he thought he could talk to me any way he wanted but once the semester got started he is actually a good professor. His class may be boring but make sure you take notes. You wont have any test but his exams are really hard. Make sure you participate.
just participate and raise your hand
I could not stand this class. Ebo himself is a great, intelligent, funny guy, but I found his teaching style to be maddening - the class was absurdly pointless and disgusting underchallenging. He babbles on and on and on all class and gives about 80 examples of concepts that only need one. He sure likes to talk, but he is a terrible teacher.
Dr. Ebo is the man. His class was awesome. If you participate he will love you. The midterm and the final were really easy. At the beginning he is kind of hard to understand but as the semester progresses it becomes much easier. He comes to late every class and he also cancels class a lot. I recommend this class if you are a communication major.
I took Ebo for Comm Ethics. He is a funny guy and I found his class entertaining. The only thing I disliked was his unclear grading- I got a B in his class and was unsure about why I didn't receive an A. I'm pretty sure everyone in the class got a B.
I had a great experience with Dr. Ebo. Over my career at Rider, I picked him for several classes. Participation was key for him and attendance. I enjoyed his conversational teaching.
His class can be easy if you just take notes. It talks fast but you just have to listen. His videos are very useful and will show up on his exams. Take Him
As a comm major you have to take this class... All I can say is.. good luck.. you wont learn anything.. you will sit there and wonder what is going on 100% of the time
HATE THIS CLASS!!!!!!!! Rider is useless and only ever has one selection of this corse available and with the same teacher. No hope. Just take the class and move on.
I have had Dr. Ebo for a number of classes during graduate and undergraduate school. HE IS THE BEST. Raise your hand and participate. He likes people who aren't afraid to speak their mind. He is very open to helping students and will genuinly listen. If you need help ASK. He is a very smart guy and a really wonderful person.
Class is easy as long as you do your work. He'll pass you. Such a nice guy and knowledgeable as well.
He is hard o understand because he has a very thick accent but overall he is a good professor and his class was enjoyable. His tests were very easy as long as you studied exactly what were on his powerpoints.
Funny guy, funny opinions and very knowledgeable. He expects you to read and it's essential for passing the tests.
I love him as a person. But he is very unorganized doesn't hand back assignments all that often. and lectures about the same thing over and over again. he's a great person and really understanding. he never answers emails. and he canceled class a lot. if he was more clear and organized i would take him again.
He's so sweet and helpful. Dr. Ebo encourages an advanced style of learning where the class is expected to discuss the topics and information in a round-table like atmosphere. Many students were not prepared for this or willing to participate. I prefer this style of teaching over being treated like underclassmen. Came away with great experience.
Nice guy, but lectures are painful to sit through. He often forgot what he has covered and repeats himself almost every class. Attendance was taken daily. Test questions were super random but most were found on quizlet or in text book.
Ebo is a decent professor and is interesting but you need to want to learn. His lectures at times are long and he will catch you procrastinating on your phone or laptop but if you participate and study you will do well! He definitely can tell who cares and who doesn't, this class is not an easy A but it's class you will be smarter after taking.
I like Dr. Ebo's teaching style and he appreciates class participation. He gives you readings and he expects you to be prepared for class. He's fair, approachable, loves sports, respectful and professional. There are so many great things that I liked about Dr. Ebo. I took his Gender Communications class. I would take him again.
Dr. Ebo is a great guy with a lot to offer. He is very insightful and knows what he's talking about. However, he can often be unorganized with his lectures and grading. He repeats questions on tests to "make sure you got it". Thick African accent that can sometimes be hard to understand. This class is an easy A as long as you do your work.
Great professor and be very passionate about teaching (and talking). Sometimes class is brutal but most of the time he makes class interesting. He has rules some tedious rules, and gives a lot of work. Other than that you will learn plenty from him.
Dr. Ebo is a very nice man and he gets the main points across very well. His biggest flaw is that he is very monotone but other than that he's great.
I like Dr. Ebo because he is very funny in class and keeps the class entertaining. He gives a lot of homework and expects you to be very precise in writing papers and during open discussions. He can be very strict especially with attendance, formatting with assignments, as well as technology use in his class.
He is a nice professor; always in a positive vibe everytime he comes in. Make sure to follow his instruction (paper format) or else he wont accept the paper/hell take points off. No textbook needed because hell provide s with his PowerPoint. He takes attendance each class-meeting
Impossible to get ahold of because he never answers his email. He waits till the end of the semester to grade and if you do take him make sure your assignments are turned in on time and done to perfection because he will screw you over.
Ebo once gave my entire class 3 days to write 5.5 pages about something he didn't even give a lecture on. He is so demanding about how many assignments you do in the minuscule amount of time he gives you. Make sure you have at least 36 hours of free time every week because half of your time in the semester will be work for Communication Ethics.
Dr. Ebo is very clear in his expectations from the beginning of the course. He assigns a lot of homework and expects detailed answers. There is a group project but as long as you have a good group, it is easy. All the tests are online. Attendance is strictly graded and you will not pass if you dont show up. I would take him again if I could.
I feel bad but Prof Ebo is easily the worst professor I have ever had. He hardly ever gets back to emails and feels like he doesn't care about his students. It doesn't seem like he cares about the class himself so many grammar mistakes in questions to the point where I don't know what he's asking, and many times he has given me incorrect grades too
I personally did not like his class, very poor communication especially during a pandemic when needed. He didn't grade right away, I felt that I barely learned anything.
Gave so many assignments as if this class was the only class students were taking. I had a B+ throughout the whole semester and the last project screwed me over and brought my grade down to a D. He doesn't respond to emails and simply does not care if a student is struggling. Does not give extra credit no matter the circumstances. Just beware.
Had 3 hour lecture Classes at night, he is very nice and funny. Although he is caring, he does give lots of work but it is easy. Read the text book and his notes, because his tests are heavily based on the material. He gave quizzes on the syllabus, introduction chapters, and just about anything he could get his hands on. I learned a lot though.
The tests are over 100 questions and he does not cover what you need to know for class. His lectures are extremely boring and hard to understand as well.
the worst. doesnt respond to emails. lectures are boring. gives the most work out of all my professors. just save yourself and dont take him.
He seems to believe that hes the only professor who gives homework and thus feels justified in giving huge amounts. He is most always vague and seems to lack an understanding of English grammar as he makes mistakes on true false questions that could be read either way.
he is completely inconsiderate of the lives of his students and i doubt he actually has empathy for people and his struggles. my parent died during the course and he refused to accommodate me. DO NOT TAKE HIM.
Does not account for students lives and gives excessive amounts of homework and the tests are 100+ questions.
Dr. Ebo posts ALL lectures online before the semester even starts. They might be long, and his lectures may be full of tangents, but he does not care about computers out during class, so you could really absorb the info at your own pace. The tests are all online, open note, the always take place on Friday (he cancels class on tests days). Take him.
Ebo's honestly a great professor. His quizzes and exams are long, but all of them are open note, so if you just open the PowerPoints you'll be fine. The discussion boards can be a little time consuming, but they're otherwise easy. You have to go to class though because attendance counts for your grade.
Hated this class due to attendance being required I was passing in literally everything but because of attendance my grade was bad. Its ridiculous students have lots of other things going on other then class if I miss a class why do you care your still getting paid.
There were grammatical errors making assignments and questions very confusing. Test questions were often repetitive or nonsensical. The whole course felt disjointed with no clear learning path. Many of the intros to the modules just felt like a word soup, rather than actual sentences. I had to read through the lines to know what was required.
From an online experience, I do not recommend this professor. His module quizzes and exams were not structured very well and were very easy to get mixed up on. Had a lot of questions on each exam, many of them were repeat questions. After emailing him, it would take a couple of days for him to respond back. Consider all options when registering.
He talks and talks and talks during lectures without actually saying anything useful. Most of his exams are 70+ questions with questions that are repeated or misspelled. He assigns 2-3 heavy writing assignments a week and his "feedback" consists of just telling you to write more. I would've rated him lower but he's a nice guy. Terrible emailer.
I had a family member diagnosed with cancer during the semester and I missed one assignment and he refused to let me make it up stating "refer back to the syllabus on my policy on missing assignments" He also assigns homework that takes hours to complete with multiple parts. The tests are ofter 100+ questions and many of the questions are repeated
Do not take unless absolutely necessary for your program. Assignments are very time-consuming and quizzes/tests often have mistakes that make the question confusing. However, it is not difficult to get a good grade as long as you put sufficient effort and time into the assignments.
I've never taken so many test in my life. the shortest test 13 questions the longest 197 and you have 30-90 minutes for everything and I'm not even talking about the final or midterm. We got somthing due every Monday (quiz) Wednesday (discussion) and Friday (chapter test). in long presentations that didn't help much. but he was nice in emails.
Professor Ebo is a great guy with lots of passion. His teaching style however is very lecture heavy and goes off topic often. His tests are very long and the textbook is needed to answer the questions. If you do your work and participate in class conversation, it'll be an easy A. The hardest part is powering through the copious homework.
He is one of the most disrespectful teachers I have ever had. The way he treats some students is so unbelievable sometimes. We had a presentation done for a final paper, and he pushed a student outside the room because she was coming in late during someones presentation. Do not take his class unless you are willing to risk your grade being biased.
He is very difficult and does not care much about how a students personal life might affect their ability to complete assignments. He adds too many assignments, and doesn't add it so you can see that it is due. He rambles on and on for his classes and has never finished a lecture. He does not know how to get the conversation back on track either.
Lots of homework, terrible grader, inaccessible, do NOT take a class with him, get ready to study on your own as quizzes do not reflect what you learned in class
Mr. Ebo is a very difficult person. He struggles with English grammar for starters, which really messed my grade up. He claimed a test was due at "The end of the weekend" so I figured it was due Sunday, but apparently to Ebo the end of the weekend was Friday. I emailed him about it, and he proceeded to ignore me, and refuses to meet after class.
I'll be honest the work isn't hard but it's actually an absurd amount. I wish I dropped the class when I could. Once again not because the difficult, but because the amount of assignments you have to do and the amount you have to write for basic questions is pretty irritating. He expects a full page for nearly every question he asks to be answered.
Nice guy & passionate professor but..be ready to have an outrageous amount of work. You'll have assignments due on days you don't even have class. He also doesn't always tell you when assignments or quizzes are due so you constantly have to be checking canvas. Trick questions on tests. Doesn't accept late/makeup work. Doesn't email back. Good luck.
I had to leave his class. Dr. Ebo's a nice guy, but his lectures make zero sense. He goes off topic very frequently throughout the class. He never responds to emails, he has trick questions on quizzes that could go both ways, and it's nearly impossible to get an "A" on an assignment, unless you write absurdly long answers to each assigned question.
Sometimes it's hard to understand him because of his accent, and often times he'll completely derail whatever tangent he was on just to go on a different one. There are many tests (all taken online), most have 100+ questions. A lot of the questions are true/false, and he makes some false just by adding "not" and not even changing the format of it.
The professor was awful he would not accept any late work at all and he is very rude on email. WOULD NOT TAKE AGAIN!
He gives a lot of homework which is normally very long. Also there is normally a test most Fridays which has over 100 questions. He lectures the whole class and sometimes it gets boring. For the homework, you have to give it your all and more or else its "too short". He's a nice guy and he has a thick accent so, good luck!
Professor Ebo is kind and extremely smart at what he does, however his COM 105 (Communication, Culture, and Media) was NOT a class I would take again. Every week, we'd have an online exam that averaged 105 questions, homework (that felt like busy work) with inaccurate grading policies, and lectures that were not engaging at all.
Professor Ebo is kind and passionate about what he does, however the class was not enjoyable at all. Weekly tests with about 105 questions, homework that felt like busy work, and lectures that were not engaging at all. The grading policy is very confusing, as many students didn't understand his reasoning at all even after an explanation.
Dr. Ebo's COM105 class isn't very hard in itself; however, the work is EXTREMELY tedious and time-consuming. For example, the tests are all open-note, online, and include word-for-word answers, BUT they are all about 100-200 questions long (or more). He is also a tough grader- he will rarely give 100s regardless of how amazing the work could be.
