Awful prof, doesnt really teach well and the course is already hard as can be.

Just enroll for online course. He is so rushed and when speaking about a topic away from the slides he is hard to understand (poor English skills). Watch the online lectures with prof Pilloff instead, accessible to every enrolled student regardless of section through Blackboard. The recitation is a waste of time, led my TA's who couldn't care less.

Dr. Drissi is EXTREMELY RUDE! If you ask him a question via email that he deems is "dumb" then he will respond to you in a rude manner literally like you're dumb! He feels entitled bc he is the dean. He is disrespectful. He has such a thick hard accent which makes it hard to understand. The whole finance dept is standard and taught the same way.

This class has been the biggest scam of my entire college career. Exams are 10 questions, so each question is worth a letter grade. Exams are based on multiple "test banks" with at least a hundred questions that you have to master, or you risk failing the exams. Drissi is also completely MIA from the class, relying 100% on TAs and other professors.

FNAN 303 is already hard enough, the professor do not care about students. No one lies when others say that you have to "live and breathe" the test banks they give. Exam and quiz questions come out of that, just change the variables basically. Not lenient at all, especially during a pandemic. Take this class with an easy load, trust me.

DON'T CHOOSE HIM!!! Very bad class experience, Hard A even B. I got the lowest grade in my whole UNIVERSITY life when my other classes got As. He won't help you with anything, you would feel this class only has TAs. Tests are soooooo Hard and even you spent much time doing the test banks, your test results would still be not good. This class was designed for you to focus on just it all semester as if you didn't have any other classes. Very time consuming and as a full time student it really sucks you have teach yourself because this professor did not do a lick of work! Study for this class like there's no other subject you're studying. His lectures are useless. All he says is, 'it gets harder.' Take anyone else but him.

He covers major topics in such a short time and expects us to understand them. He literally skims past everything, doesn't care whether students understand the matter or not. This class consumes all the time in practice and hardly leaves time for other subjects.

Absolute no. He, his teaching, his test banks, his quizzes, his exams, are a BIG NO. Do NOT take him. He expects you to know everything and won't even clear your doubts. So hey, if you have doubts, ask everyone else but him. Not helpful. He makes students hate the subject.

Exams are 10 questions, 10 minutes each, and 10 points each. These 100 points for all the 4 exams, will decide your grade. There are quizzes, but they aren't worth much. There is no extra credit. It's a waste to even attend lectures at this point. His accent is so heavy. He won't even clear your doubts.

Doesn't acknowledge doubts of students. Just pray you pass and do not YOLO on exams. They are what determine your grade for this class.

If I could give this guy a 0. I would. Don't even know why he bothers teaching at this point. It's not like anyone understands him. Don't take him. There is no extra credit for this class either! It's literally self study at this point.

He attempts to make the class interactive. But who would want to interact when all he makes students worrh about are the tests? The course feels like a Summer Course. Every week there is a quiz. And he takes the average of both the attempts. Every month there is a lockdown camera test which is so so so hard. Don't take him. A big NO.

The way FNAN 303 has been structured it is a plan to fail and kick out students from school of business n get money. Extremely Harsh, 9 quizes , 2 attempts are allowed doesnt take the highest attempt average grade counted, exams are extremly hard, No backtracking allowed, he keeps the hard question at first so you can waste all of your time on it.

This Professor is horrid. Even if you approach the Dean to complain about him, nothing will be done. This class is a money-making scam designed to deliberately fail students and force them to take it again because it is a core class.

Whether you study, or don't study, you will fail. Don't take him. Take Prof Hu or Pilloff instead. Drissi is just bad at teaching.

Don't make the mistake of taking him as the professor. This man is so trash at teaching. He should literally just quit teaching. After all it's the TA's running this class for him. Möbius assignments was the best tool for student to learn, but its no more, because students were asking questions and he or TA were getting tired to clear few doubts for few students. They dont care if you learn or not, only timed quiz given then bye bye no question ask n get fail!

Honest Review- Dr. Drissi is an incredibly smart man and is very skilled at his work. however, he is a terrible teacher. You're graded on only quizzes and tests. on the tests, there are 10 questions each worth 10 % of your grade. So missing even a single question can be very harsh to your grade. Do not take this professor. He's basically piggybacking off the other professors and doesn't actually teach you the material. He mocks you in lecture and he tries to make you fail during your tests by saying that you cheated. If you have to take him, don't ever go to his lectures, go to the other professors and listen to their lectures.

I don't think I've come across anyone whom I can despise to this extent. The only reason he has his jib is because the work he should be doing is done by TA's and other professors. Do NOT take him. I'm not sure why FNAN 303 is taught in this manner and to this extremity for non-finance majors at Mason. This course needs to have more assignments and be less reliant on exams to equalize the learning curve for everyone, especially in the era of COVID, which the professor didn't really put into account when teaching this course. It's terrible.

Overwhelming material, tons of questions. Load of work have made it tough also the way its structured, 90% is exam n 10% quiz that only averaged counts for the quiz not the highest so great chance of failing the course. Finance is interesting but structured n tons of questions makes feel terrible n hate the subject. Its one of the toughest Course

Doesn't teach the class and is very disrespectful to students. The TA's basically teach us and he uses videos from lectures from the past (not him). He has on the syllabus that any emergency, illness, death in the family, internet loss etc, he won't allow you to make up a test, quiz, what have you. Take another professor who is more compassionate.

He posts videos of other professors from years ago. Quizzes are given after the videos and they rarely cover what the video actually talked about. Tests are impossible without hours of tutoring. Horrendous system for a class that almost everyone, even non-fnan majors, are forced to take.

The absolute worst "professor" I have ever had the misfortune of knowing. As others have mentioned, Boubker Messouak does not teach his students and he is inherently rude when you dare reach out to him for assistance. This is my second time taking this course and will most likely be my last as I am considering dropping out of college now.

He is not a professor never met him, he doesnt reply to emails but instead says dont email me just cc me and the TA will answer. Then they dont know the answer or how to help. He doesnt care about the students or their success. His recorded lectures are very unhelpful in comparison to the difficulty of his tests. Cant believe I paid for this

All questions are pointed to the TA's who are useless. His only advice is to study the 1k question test bank problems and just figure it out yourself.

He's not a professor. He doesn't give lectures. All lessons are through the TA's. He has an exam the day after spring break so there's no TA exam review before hand. Starts new material before testing on previous material. Worst class at GMU. Do not join a the school of business because of this class.

No words can describe this course. Ok, there are lecture problem quizzes every week which it takes time to finish them but when it comes to the tests, not enough time, and the questions are super hard, unlike the quizzes and be ready to teach yourself, so GOOD LUCK !!!

Took this class twice with him (spring and summer). Failed the first time, passed with a C on the 2nd. Both times were online. The material is very hard to understand because its just watching videos. Study test bank problems for sure. Do not miss out on the homework and quizzes, you will need them for your final grade.

This professor does the literal least. He shows up to his mandatory lecture and very impatiently goes over the lecture problems. You are required to do an insane amount of work he did not create, before his class on the first day of the week. If you want help, ask a TA. He will say, "ask a TA" or refer you to his incoherent instructions.

This professor does the literal least. All of your assignments are designed by someone else and he made no effort to organize it. He will use his authority as a teacher to dodge responsibility for his lack of effort. His solution is to have many TA's tell you what random time of the week they will be covering a section with no regard to the class.

Honestly, if you told me the class I took didn't even have a teacher I wouldn't be surprised. The TAs did all of the work, led the lectures, and helped during office hours, Prof. just sat on his ass collecting the pay. Not like it matters much as the class is controlled by the department, so all sections are pretty much the same.

better off teaching yourself,1 hour tests you have one rushed attempt to do each question. There are 4 tests 10 questions each. 40 questions that make up 55% of your grade. Each test question is worth 1.375% of your grade. Then the final 25% of grade 20 questions. Thin 20% on quiz's The material is way out of scope for an entry level class.

RUUUNNN! DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS! If you have to, go into class and don't take it online because he is the only option. 5 exams weigh heavy. Fail rate is high and GMU doesn't care.The exams don't cover the material covered that week so you're learning new concepts that you will not be quizzed on until weeks later. Beware. This course is a GPA killer. A lot of lecture problem quizzes never shows and it is on UPCOMING status, but it will count on the final grade ( this is a joke because how do we do the quizzes if it not show up? ). Avoiding this professor at all cost. You will be regret.

His courses are poorly organized and he needs to do a better job to simplify the course. A lot of these reviews are true on here. This is the hardest class i've ever taken.

If you do the test bank and know how to solve questions by practicing you will pass. Exams are heavily weighted which cause of deciding the final grade.Try/do your best to keep the highest grade from the beginning (First exam). There are tons of parts of each question that connects with the rest, One minor mistake and you are done.

This professor is a nightmare!!! Doesn't care about everything including students at GMU!!!!! This course seems math heavy. If you want to pass this course, study the test blank HWs, communicate with classmates through GroupMe or Discord, and you should be fine getting at least a C or higher.

Awful professor. Try to avoid at all cost. If you do have to take him though, just make sure you stay on top of your work. If you have any questions, don't ask him as he can be unhelpful. The class itself is tough but he doesn't make it easier.

There was a 30 minute delay in our final exam this morning. We were notified several times that the exam would start at 7:30am but got nothing till 8 o'clock. Simply wasted our time there and no explanation. What a terrible course coordinator!

I was literally close of passing this course!!! I only need at least 4-5 points to pass. He never curves, gives extra credit, or gives a boost. This guy makes this class even harder and puts students behind of their academic plans. Please stay away from this professor!!!!

If you practice the Test bank that is basically what you need, the same questions come to all of the exams, but only number and names are different. If you know how to solve test bank questions you can pass this course, but still it is a lot of work and time-consuming to know 1k questions' solving method is extremely complicated, Backbreaking!

It's too much material. There's a quiz every weekend, no exceptions. 4 tests, with no breaks in material or review. I hate this class, I hate how difficult this course is, and I hate how little time you have on quizzes and tests. HOW IS THIS CLASS A THING? Everyone I know is complaining about how this class is set to fail you and even the kids with good grades are stressed. His quizzes give you 10 minutes per problem and his tests give you 5 minutes. TERRIBLE.

I know almost all business students complain about how this class is structured. It's very disorganized and makes it easier for you to get an F. It makes want to transfer out of GMU. Do yourself a favor. RUN!!

Super poor communication. He refers to TAs then the TAs don't answer or don't know the answer. He is lazy, and likes to use other people to do his job for him. This class is awful. Steer away! After many incidents in this course, I had to submit a grievance report.

speaks way too fast and refuses to explain his work. when going through problems during his lecture, he just reads off the work on the powerpoint and expects us to magically understand. asks if there are any questions, then doesn't even look up and around the room to see all of the hands up and then moves on. might as well teach yourself.

Get ready to spend your whole life for this class because this professor doesn't care if you pass or not. Lectures are outdated, TA's do all the work but do not respond, really heavy and hard exams, exam reviews that he schedules are not guaranteed (he cancels last minute), and YouTube taught me better than the lecture videos. Get ready for failure y'all when you sign up for this course with this guy. Doesn't care about his students and uses TAs to do his dang job for him. Many TAs aren't correct during the recitation sessions. This department is terrible. I would definitely recommend that you should transfer from GMU to another university to finish your degree there.

I genuinely want GMU to find a better professor. But he is so so so bad. His lectures are outdated. Literally, I would sit to study and have mental breakdowns every single time. It was a very very very hard class for me.

Please stay away from taking the class with him or you will fail the class. The lecture slides are outdated and he doesn't care about students. Quiz with only 3 questions is an hour timed but exam with 10 tricky questions has only 75 minutes. He canceled the exam review session in the last minute.

Things seem to be a little fishy, this instructor is psychologically damaging so many students with his extremely heavy loads of class materials. What is even more questionable is that besides the fact that there have been so many bad reviews and complaints against him, yet GMU is still quiet and has not taken any action. Not sure what is going on.

This guy sits there and hires TAs to do nasty work for him. Lectures are outdated and don't help you prepare for his tests if you not a finance major. TAs don't help either. I am writing this to warn anyone taking fnan 311! This professor made my semester a nightmare! He doesn't teach a lick of finance. This made hw's take hours on top of hours due to self teaching. He avoided any type of meeting I tried to set up throughout the semester. He doesn't care about his students. Only take him if he's your only option.

Whole year I did not hear my professors voice. The TA's were the only help. He is horrible he is literally getting paid to do nothing emailed him countless times ranging 3 months back no response emailed him 5 days nothing. Final exam had no questions which were in the practice test banks

Think twice before taking his course. He absolutely did not care about students who were struggling. I know several students who failed in his course. His course was so formula-based and technical as if everyone's major was finance. Stay away or he will ruin your GPA and make your life miserable. BTW, A TA explains things much better than he does.
