he is a really good teacher... i have him for Algebra and he really explains things clearly...
Teaches well, friendly, and patient
No Comments
I had him as a prof. Apparently this guy is really into Trance which is what I like about this guy.
I had Prof Tasic for both Algebra and Calculus, and I really thought he was a good prof. He does use the text a lot but most of his examples are different which is good cause then there's more to study. Anyways overall great prof, too bad he doesn't teach MTH 240, or else I woulda tried to get in his class.
He wrote the second midterm and although I did pretty bad, it was pretty fair imo. Make sure you especially write down and pay attention to his notes a week before a midterm. Very helpful professor too, and don't be afraid to ask him questions during tests. People say he uses textbook examples too much but this year he did problems from the book.
explains everything very clearly, definetloy knows his stuff.. great prof.
Lots of examples, knows his stuff, very approachable and very nice. thought he was very thorough and liked to show different stuff from whats in the text to demonstrate variety.
i don't like this teacher ...he writes the exact same thing in the book, and all e does basicly is writing on the board and reading while he's writing. i can be a proff now if thats all about it.
he doesn't know how to use a chalk properly (even though he has a chalk-holder). he screeches on the blackboard. and he likes writing ALOT. mostly material that's covered in the text. and he talks softly during lectures. and you should be quiet in his class, 'cause he did kick out an entire row of students because they were making too much noise.
Very helpful in the sense of teaching the right thing that you need to know for exams… Also very clear about what he teaches and those who talk in class should not be complaining about him kicking you out simply because you go there to learn not converse.....
HE IS A VERY GOOD PROF. GIVES REALLY HELPFUL EXAMPLE. HE DOESNT LIKE PPL TALKING IN CALSS ORELSE HE KICKS U OUT OF THE CLASS... HE WRITES TOO MUCH ON THE BOARD BUT THAT REALLY HELPFUL...
he just write on the board he never explaines
all u copy in 2 hours of lecture is notes and notes and more notes...doesnt give time for studnets to even think...expects us to learn everything very fast...
i have never done many good acts in my life, but i would like to have a go with it by advicing all my friends to avoid the dark shadows of this dangerous specy. even to prove 1+1 he needs some theory. his notes are equivalent to wasting ur page and ink.
He is the best prof for linear algebra! He does great examples, and makes sure we are all prepared for the tests.
I had prof Tasic for calc 2 and Linear algebra. I've found that if you go to lecture and do the homework, midterms are a breeze. But from my experience he makes very hard final exams where the average is a 40, usually bell-curves though :) He's not afraid to tell noisy ppl to gtfo of class which is great.
He is an amazing prof.He explains everything clearly. If you attend to his lectures, you're gonna understand everything that is in the book and therefore it's easy for you to study for the tests and final exam.
Teaches too fast
BEST MATHAMATICS DEPT PROFFESOR EVER,i have had many different teachers for math and he was the clearest, most interesting, and nicest guy once you show him your putting in the effort.
Keep up the great work Boza!
His teaching...nothing great, but his selection of music, just SMASHING!!
Awesome music. The tests are relatively straight forward. He gives sample tests before each test. The tests are exactly the same, except the numbers are different. So it's VERY EASY if you know your math. He doesn't try to trick you.
his tests are similar, bcuz he gives sample tests, in tht sense he is fine, but he really does not help you if u ask him questions or go for help, he wud rather make fun of u indirectly, soo its up to you to take him or not, i did not like him.
He is very rude if you go to his office for help. Everything else is fine but if you go to his office, make sure you control yourself because he is quite intimidating.
I hate math, but had to take it for summer. Let me tell you this guy is THE nicest and coolest math prof ever! jst do the practice tests he gives n the homework, n I guarantee a good grade. P.s. this is coming from someone who always gets below C's. P.s.s hes soooo nice =)
He is GOD! If humans were books, he must be the bible! If humans were prizes he will be the nobel prize!
great
His first midterm was easy, but don't think that the streak will continue, his second midterm was harder and the practice tests for the second midterm and exam weren't exactly the same unlike the first midterm. If you ask questions in class, he might humiliate you. He is not very approachable, I DID NOT LIKE HIM.
This professor was amazing when I took him for MTH 141. All 3 tests were almost EXACT duplicates of the practice tests he gives out days before the actual one. His notes are detailed and helpful. Only complaint is that he is sometimes rude to the students who may ask questions he deems as easy. If you do well though, he will respect you greatly.
Fair Teacher. Shows pratical examples similar on test.Overall good prof!
He uses a more theoretical approach to his teaching. This can be hard but if you do the hmwk and go to Math assistance centre or ask your classmates for help you will be fine. The first midterm is easy to get perfect but it gets progressively harder. I managed to get an A+ with him solely because his sample tests mirror his actual tests. (Bewarned
do homework
HE IS OKE FOR MTH 141, BUT FOR MTH 240 PEOPLE NEED TO STUDY A LOT.
He is a tough but fair marker. Easy to get lost during lecture, so ask a lot of questions and pay attention.
One of the best Profs I've ever had. If you want to do well, don't copy down everything he writes. They are all from the text book. Try to understand and ask a lot of questions. Do the assigned problems (MOST IMPORTANT). Don't hesitate to go to his office for extra help. Really nice and helpful prof. :)
It is sometimes easy to get lost during his lectures. If you need help definitely go find him. He is very good at explaining concepts.
Amazing professor.
everyone has their own opinion but the effort and care he puts into his lectures and students can not be compared to any other ryerson prof !
very very picky
I cannot stand him. He humiliates students and makes everyone feel like crap. He is a tough marker and a tough teacher. He's just plain rude...
Not very explanatory
This prof is just amazing. He explains the material inside out. He cares about his students. Try to concentrate on the problems he does in class. More than 75% of midterm/exam is on the stuff covered in class. Good Luck! :)
great prof very clear and fun, tells you what to expect thoroughly explains theorems and is always accomadating
He isn't exactly the friendliest guy and his tests are challenging. but he explains really well, his notes are crystal clear, he is very organized, and he gives loads of extra help. the textbook is necessary for this course though.
The man knows his stuff. A lot of people complain about failing in his class but that's silly if you think about how many hints he gives you about the upcoming tests. I had him for mth240 and he visited for mth617, very clear and concise explanations
There is no point of going to his lectures, tests are hard & challenging!!
He's a very good prof. He explains the material very well, and he gives a guideline on how to study for the midterms and final. If you go to class and do the homework you should be fine. If you need help, you can ask him, or go to the math centre. There should be no reason to fail his class, since he pretty much covers what's on the tests.
The worst prof i ever had in ryerson. Tests are hard & challenging!! I don't recommend him at all.
He teaches well.
Really great teacher and knows how to teach math. For 141 he admitted that the course is boring in general but the material is very simple after some practice. Always willing to help out during class breaks or office hours. He also has the textbook for 141 practically memorized and makes notes from there but the having the textbook would be better.
Boza is an amazing prof; he's very clear with what he wants you to study. During class, he gets to the point right away and doesn't waste time. Also, he has AMAZING music tastes.
Dr. Tasic is an excellent prof for Stats I. He clearly explains the material with useful and practical examples. During 3 hour lectures, he gives a 10 minute break after every hour, which I feel keeps the class engaged. He knows how to control the class and keep the course entertaining. And, an AMAZING taste in music. You must go for this prof
Truly knows what he is doing. Very clear with explanation if you can get passed his accent. Very helpful, posts everything up online. Very approachable. Only down side is goes to very last class with no reviews.
Best math proff in my life time!!!!
just go to the lectures and take notes, and study from the suggested homework and your notes
Really good when it comes to reading what it says on ppt slides. Terrible teacher. The way he explains and answers a student's question just confuses everyone even more because he gives a complicated and long answer that doesn't even apply. Homework questions from book don't resemble his tests and adds more questions that isn't from book or slides.
Dr. Tasic is amazing. He's extremely intelligent and very willing to help those who don't understand concepts immediately. I've had him for both QMS 102 and QMS 202 and I really adore him. You should probably download Shazam as he plays really awesome trance music before class starts and during breaks.
Pretty bad teacher. Not very difficult tests but you need to teacher yourself. He can't explain questions you ask him he just goes on and on and it confuses you even more. Just reads off the lecture slides.
All he does is read off the lecture pdf slides. Not helpful at all when it comes to answering questions because he just confuses you even more with his answer. All the homework questions in the book are much easier than the tests and examples in the lecture slides don't really prepare students for the tests or final.
Just finished my term with Dr. Boza Tasic. I am normally an B+ student but this teacher is "out to get you." In QMS 102 I got a 75% and I know I got the material in this class but on the all tests he confuses you with his wording. He just wrote on our class Blackboard that tons of students are asking him to curve the exam! DONT TAKE HIM as a Prof!
He is the worst statistics. He doesn't know what the P-value is. Shame on him!!!
Does he have statistics knowledge? We want back our tuition fee.
The people who complain about Boza are the people who are stupid and expect to be given all the answers. If you put some effort into the class, he's totally willing to help you. He's super smart and doesn't put up with nonsense.
Boza Tasic is a great professor! I would definitely recommend this professor to anyone as he really takes his time to explain concepts if you do not understand it. His lectures are clear and exams are straight forward as he puts in-class questions on them. Read the relevant material and do the practice he puts up and you will get a good grade.
He is a great prof! Really nice and takes time to explain everything, always asking if everyone understands before he moves forward. His tests were very fair and he put tough in-class examples on them sometimes. Nothing tested was a surprise at all. If you can get him as your prof- get him! I will be getting him as my prof for QMS 202
If u want to kill yourself or enjoy to stay longer in ryerson. This guy will help u to achieve your dream.
He's great! So nice if you go in to his office hours. Really willing to help you out if you aren't understanding a tough topic. The material isn't super easy but he makes everything clear.
He was a fantastic prof in my opinion, I had never taken stats in highschool but I found him to be very clear and he gave lots of examples. I did surprisingly well in his class. He's strict (don't talk while he's talking, be respectful, pay attention) but it's because he wants you to do well. Exam was good, based off of course material.
love love love boza. he hands out practices quizzes every week which resemble multiple choice questions on his midterms and final exams. very approachable. very knowledgeable. Generally, I am not a strong math student, but he took the time to go over concepts with me which helped me succeed. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM! (take my word for it)
Excellent. The content of this course isn't extremely difficult and his lecture slides are thorough and concise. He engages with students and is enthusiastic on the subject. He also gives small quizzes that resemble the tests which is a plus. He can get mixed up in what he's saying and say a wrong word but he will clarify if asked so pay attention.
Best qms teacher I've had, so clear and helpful! tests are straightforward, if you review the examples in the textbook you'll be more than fine
Professor Tasic is an incredible QMS professor. His lectures are clear and easy to understand. He gives you more than enough help to allow you to do well on tests. If by chance you need extra help, he's extremely friendly and approachable during office hours. I HIGHLY recommend him!
He's horrible, he does not explain properly what he is doing. His notes are directly copied from the textbook, and tells us we'll be fine of we do back of chapter questions (which are super easy) but the tests are totally different
Boza Tasic is overall very good professor. I really liked his powerpoints, and his attitude. Helpful, clear, and positive. Top hat questions are helpful to understand the topic and his way of testing. I do not regret staying in his class. If you have him, keep him.
Had him for QMS 102 and 202, he was great. BUT DO NOT TAKE FOR QMS 702. Gives the easiest questions in lectures and homework but tests are totally different. He expects you to know something he hasn't even taught. His notes are directly from the textbook and again very tough marking.
Absolutely horrendous! He does not explain clearly. Gives us easy lecture practice questions and textbook homework is super easy, but the tests are totally different and hard. He says he takes things from the homework which is a lie cause I do every question. Plus he's not generous with part marks. If you want a good GPA DO NOT TAKE HIM FOR QMS 702
Bad qms 702 prof. Not clear when he does examples on board and when you ask he does not answer clearly. Tests are tougher than lecture practice and homework. I studied for all the tests and quizzes and yet I'm doing horrible. Don't take him for QMS 702.
Tests are extremely tough, much harder than expected. Got a 90%+ on both quizzes, and barely passed on the two tests. Extremely long lectures, lots of writing, but can find yourself learning more from the text. Claims homework, lecture work, and practice are representations of testing. Couldn't be further from wrong. AVOID QMS702 WITH HIM
AVOID THIS PROF. He says tests will be based on lectures and homework but it is ABSOLUTELY TOUGHER AND DIFFERENT. His lectures are too long, went over the materials too fast, and seems clueless when asking him to explain something. MUST AVOID FOR QMS702.
Professor Tasic overall is a nice person however he has no idea how to teach QMS702. He bases his tests off the questions that he assigns in class and for homework however he can't explain the material itself. He was a good QMS102 prof, not QMS702. He rushed through the last chapters of the course and then mainly tested that on the final.
Boza is a nice person but he's not the best professor. His lectures are long & he hand writes his notes on the board & he only goes through the basics. Also he spent about a month and half teaching one chapter and he rushed the last 2 chapters. His final exam was very hard!! Ps this is coming from a student who goes to all the lecs & does the hwk
Made it seem fair for the first half off the course but screwed everyone over on the final. He spent over a month on basic math but then jumped through two hard chapters in two weeks and made the entire final based off of that
nice guy, bad prof. Don't recommend
Really disliked his class, and his way of teaching. SUPER boring, I fell asleep during lecture every time I went
Power points are very helpful with a lot of clear examples. He also gave easy extra assignments that are worth marks. He certainly tries his best to make sure that you understand the material and cares that you improve as a student. Appreciates feedback about his lectures.
Literally screwed over the entire class, simple as that.
quizzes were extremely easy, tests were not so bad just had to go for some extra help. Exam was absolutely impossible and nothing compared to his practise questions or lectures. He does give part marks but still final exam was impossible.
A very nice and genuine man. However, his in class questions and homework do not match the level of difficulty on the exams. Best of luck.
His lectures are so long. in addition to that, his accent does not help. Don't even try emailing him because he takes two-three weeks to reply. I'd suggest going to see him during his office hours. In regards to lectures, I had no idea what he was talking about half the time. The textbook is your best friend, I promise you that much.
Amazing professor, he is extremely thorough and his tests are a reflection of class material. Probably the best statistics/economics professor at Ryerson.
This was the worst class for Statistics I have ever been to. All he does is read off the slides, does not show how formulas are thought out, TESTS ARE TERRIBLE and his questions do not make any sense. Do not take him as your prof, this will be the worst course of the semester. Your welcome.
Weekly tests are horrendous! He only reads off the slides, you're better off staying home and attempting to make your own notes.
Boza is one of the worst profs, he teaches one thing and puts another on the test. He made every examination on a Saturday morning, even for little one hour tests... Which requires some students to commute 3 hours for an hour exam. Boza screwed everyone over on the final. He just sucks overall.
Literally the biggest waste of time, such a terrible prof. Acts like he's helping you with his practice questions but he truly is not.
Went into class thinking "oh it's just high school calculus, it'll be a breeze". Ended up getting screwed over by this prof. His final exam was impossible, literally. I passed, but barely passed. He rushed the last two chapters and then put that stuff only on the final. He's really bad at teaching QMS 702. His notes are copied from the textbook.
He's nice and tries his best to make you understand the material but his weekly quizes and the test are really hard.
He can be rude at times when you ask a simple question. In terms of lectures, he will teach you really easy things in class and do easy questions but makes his quizzes much more complicated. Didn't really enjoy the class with him as a prof so try getting someone else.
Super sweet guy, little bit of a european accent or something but still easy to understand. The course is a little bit heavy but he tries to break it down for you which is really helpful. I didn't mind him Id have him again for a prof.
Nice prof and will clearly answer any extra questions you have during class if you simply ask. That being said, he is very quick in how he teaches and I found that his style of teaching is a little heavy, especially during the end of the semester when he crammed way too much content into a couple of lectures. Take this course online if you can!!
good luck fam. this course will eat your brains out. Most people failed this course the past three years. The very few 3-6 people who get A's are just geniuses. don't listen to em.
Haha, i have been waiting to rate this guy. This guy makes the course 10X harder than it really is. He teaches at extremely fast pace in the last three classes. He puts 3 chapters in one class and continues to post homework. I studied everyday for 6 hours and still did bad. To do well, you got to be math wizard. Final was absolutely haram.
Tried my best to pass the final but there was way too much content to catch up. He teaches one thing and puts another on the tests. The final was literally 80% of the stuff he taught the class before. This guy is a joke. Borderline passed the final exam and that was probably because of the TAs. God bless them for giving me 52
He tries to teach you a lot during the lecture but spends 1/3 of the class taking up the weekly in-class quizzes. The quizzes make you think and are typically a lot harder than the homework or the questions he does in class
Usually will have one tough short answer questions on the midterms. You need to redo all the in-class quizzes that he gives to help prepare for exams. Boza is a very nice guy, gives good hints on exams as well. The course is said to be "tough," Boza tries to make it easier. He wants his students to do well. You need to go to his lectures to do well
This course is a "Brief introduction to calc". Its really easy class..
Avoid this guy if possible. U learn nothing from him
Professor Chua is the first choice for this course. This prof is out of your list.
Boza very serious in his teaching but Professor Chua is smarter. She know how to use special way to help her students. Her students got high marks in test 2 just because she let her students wrote their test after 12 noon. Her students have test questions from other students who wrote at 10:30 A.M. Professor Chua is the best, smart.
Good teaching style and engages the class. The course itself is really hard but Boza does a good job explaining concepts. Great fashion style too.
Positives: has extra office hours, responds to emails quickly and that's about it. If you have him, expect his lectures to be rushed and while his exams are based on the practice tests, he's a tough marker. If you don't follow the exact procedures he taught in class you WILL lose marks, even if you get the right answer.
It is a hard class. Boza genuinely wants his students to succeed, explains everything and tells what kind of questions will be on the tests. If you never come to class - dont complain! Quzzes are hard, however they are very similar to questions in the practice module so do that to prepare. It is challenging class, but Boza helps students.
I sat in his class and paid attention and still had no clue what he was talking about as he wasnt very clear and didnt introduce the new topics thoroughly . He does talk about stats and does do some questions but its not effective. ended up having to teach myself
By far the worst prof at Ryerson. Toughest grader ever. The content of the course is tremendously difficult and he makes it even worse with his lectures and weekly quizzes although the course doesn't cover alot of topics. I retook the course in Chang School and Got an A+ although I failed this one. Stay away from him. he's a big big no.
Very nice person, but a horrendous teacher. He does not thoroughly teach the new topics, and goes over the most basic questions in class while the ones on the test are much more difficult. I got an A- in QMS 102 and am now at a B-. Overall, he is a horrible teacher who does not prepare his students well for tests, but is a very nice person.
Worst ever. Very difficult exams, leaves you absolutely unprepared for exams, has an accent. I went to him in his office hours and said that the course was very difficult, he simply told me "you need to study" and didn't offer any help. Very very bad professor and very rude.
The course is the worst and he is even worse. His exams are set for you to fail and he doesn't offer any help. If I Study 20 hours a week, 15 was for calculus and I still failed. Good Luck fam.
Responded ur email within a day. However , most of us found out he has limited statistics knowledge. Ryerson should not assigned him to teach Statistics courses. Overall, he is a nice professor who is not able to teach statistics courses.
Nice professor. He wanted to help student but he did not have enough knowledge in qms202. Sorry to say that. He is not able to answer simple questions related to qms202 but he tried to cover up by talking something that are not related to the question. Professor Boza should not be assigned to teach qms202 course.
Very fashionable prof. Willing to help u but he is not able to answer any simple questions related to qms202 courses. A lot of students found out that he is lack of statistics knowledge. Text book us your best friend n get a private tutor. This is not a difficult course.
Very nice professor but he does not teach the topic thoroughly. I think he is lack of statistics knowledge.
He can't teach at all. Boza should be out from TRSM for the sake of students. Thank you if he can do this favor for ryerson business students.
Nice guy. Very well outfit. He likes fashion very much. BUT he can't teach at all because he is lack of statistics knowledge. Ryerson should not ask him to teach statistics courses . My tutor would like to challenge his statistics knowledge.
Very tall, fashion abd handsome professor but he is not qualified to teach statistics. A lot student aware that he is lack of statistics knowledge. I have to hire a tutor to coach me. I will recommend my tutor to professor Boza if he need statistics tutoring.
Very strict but a pretty good stats prof. Listen in the lectures and actually do the homework and you will be fine.
tough course, horrible at teaching but he's a nice guy.
One of the worst professors I've had in my 4 years at Ryerson. He sets you up for failure. He teaches calculus off a power point and the tests are 100x harder than the practice questions and midterms he gives you (not exaggerating). The questions he gives on the midterms are questions you will have never seen before in the course. He's ridiculous
Super nice guy, his tests are a little hard but nothing crazy like people make it sound like. The class expects to see identical questions from my CCN he gets the majority off of there but obviously he has to change some of them up. Feel like everyone is too hard on him. Hes really not bad at all. Also the quizzes are an easy mark to get as well.
Nice guy, not as bad as people make him out to be. Do his practice tests AND myccn quizzes/ practice questions in the topic lectures and youll be good. Also go in to see your test papers when you can during his office hours if you want to raise your grade, his TA's arent the best at marking
Don't take this guy.
Amazing Prof, very clear and concise.
Professor Boza is not a caring prof . I should enrolled in prof Nursel class who always like to help students by boostING the marks. Prof Nursel is the the greatest stat prof in ryerson.
Switch to professor Nursel right after the first class. Boza cannot teach at all as well as professor Nursel. However, professor Nursel boosted students final grade. A lot of free marks was given by here. U need to approach her for free mark. She is a very caring prof.
His tests are nothing like what he teaches us in class. Theyre more analytical thinking & are very confusing. He does teach but his tests are way too hard. I do not recommend
Boza is a tough but fair prof. He is very approachable after class and in this course is a very fair marker. I attended his office hours after both the midterms and was able to receive extra marks due to him understanding my thought process. I was not the only one to do this. Beware of Boza if you are not a fan of math.
Do not take his class! his tests are nothing like the modules and practice quizzes (only a few questions) even though i understood the course content he makes his tests extremely hard! his tests are harder than the other stats prof's tests.
Extremely difficult tests. Switch out of his class ASAP!!
Terrible. Doesnt teach well and not as approachable as others might say. Went in after tests to speak with him but he was on his laptop the whole time not paying attention. Tests are super hard, even with a tutor I didnt manage to pass, questionable right? Material on the test isnt even what you learn.... I would not recommend this prof.
his tests are not a good reflection of the learning and course material. switch out of his class ASAP!!
Does not boost marks or help you at all. Do not take this class with this prof! Youll regret, I do.
His lectures and modules are very fair and understandable however, his tests are super hard and the complete opposite of what was taught in class. Would not recommend.
probs the worst QMS202 teacher at Ryerson. drop his course if you have the chance. I passed by 0.14% & majority of the class failed by like 1% or even 0.5% and he refused to do anything about it. his lectures are probably the most boring and make no sense so honestly no difference if you go or not. if you wanna pass QMS just switch profs
Compared to QMS 102, Boza makes you WORK to pass this course. His tests are nothing like the my statlab and are much harder. He gets some questions from the bitbolide site he uses (which have super hard questions) to formulate his tests. If you can get another professor SWITCH OUT!!!!!
Boza is a nice person, a great teacher, and a brilliant man. his tests are unreasonably difficult though.
Can't control the class. Lost his mind because of people leaving after bitbolide quizzes.
Can't keep the class for the whole 3 hours. Don't leave right after the quiz or you gonna get in trouble!!!! Midterm is way harder than the lectures in class!
Yells at you when you try leaving. I was scared to use the bathroom. I held it in because I thought he was going to chase me out the door. The class wants to die of boredom during his lectures. However, if you speak to him outside of class, he's not a bad guy. He boosted me 6% on my midterm.
just overall rude to his students as he does not allow questions at anytime, he does not engage the class and does not respect them as paying students trying to achieve an education.
Petty and small man - Recommend you switch out of his class. He maybe a doctor and brilliant mathematician, but it requires different skills to be an effective instructor. Switch if you get him and do not forget to fill out the faculty/course survey!
Way to aggressive with students for trying to leave the class during lecture. I did not sit through an entire lecture once because the atmosphere was stressful to be in. The tests are fine if you did well in high school math, but if calculus and advanced functions were too hard this class will most likely be as well.
compared to the other profs he is mediocre however he has really bad anger problems and needs to realize that he doesnt need to have an attitude all the time. also mathisnt supposed to be taught in an auditiorium
He is a very nice and understanding professor. He is great at explaining concepts, and will go through a question with you. His lectures can feel very long and dry, but it's hard to expect more when going through a course like QMS110. Tests are not hard and are exactly like the review packages posted. He does get very upset if you are disrespectful
Boza was not a good teacher at all. In a class of over 500 people, he often didn't use a mic, meaning nobody could hear him. Every time someone would get up to leave throughout the 3 hour class he would run to them to shout at them, threaten to call security if they left etc., very unprofessional and distracting for the whole class.
With QMS, it's either you understand or you don't. Boza does a good job of teaching the topics but his temper is short and his patience is thin. He is a nice guy though and super kind and funny to the students that are engaged in his classes. His tests are super easy and if you attend the lectures, your grade will reflect it.
He cares a LOT about the course that sometimes he gets misunderstood quite often as being too strict. He enjoys what he does, and is always willing to help during office hours.
I have taken this course twice with Professor Tasic and while there are things I appreciate about him he does not explain the material well and is often very rude. This is the second semester for the QMS 110 course, blaming the students for being unprepared with this course is hilarious in my opinion.
He does not explain or let you leave lectures. I had to teach myself and his tests were hard
He is a very caring professor and only wants his students to do well, this is evident with the amount of time he allocates for office hours, how he would constantly ask the class if they have any questions during the lectures, and answer more questions during the lecture breaks. Practice, practice, practice and you will do well on the exams!
Knowledgeable but not everyone is meant to be a teacher. He rushes through his lectures and has no regard for our understanding of the content. Please explain to me why students consistently get more than 50% incorrect during his lecture's polls but he brushes that aside as 'you need to practice more'.
I have no understanding of all these comments saying how he is "mean" or has "hard" tests. He explains the solution of practice questions to A TEE. Even elementary mathematics such as fundamental algebra. Furthermore, his exams are literally the practice questions but slightly altered. No surprises. PS. he plays banger music during breaktime.
Professor Tasic is such a caring and kind individual that wants you to succeed but you must put in the work to show him that you care as well. I really enjoyed classes with him even amidst the pandemic!
Very caring professor, answers emails quickly and wants his students to do well. Test's are difficult though it is pretty much the same as all practice questions. He does not explain concepts so well-but QMS 110 is pretty basic math so you are okay by teaching yourself.
Overall a goof prof! He helps his students and cares about the course! He gives a lot of practice questions which are not mandatory and he is also very accessible!
QMS 110 was made intentionally harder this semester to mitigate cheating. Exams are proctored with a webcam but are open book. Boza by himself isn't a bad prof I found his lectures useful along with the MyLabs helpful. If math isn't your strongest subject I recommend taking this course in Chang School or postponing it until school reopens.
This prof seemed to be okay at first, he plays music in class and the assignments were super easy. HOWEVER, HE DOES NOT TEACH WELL. It is really easy to get distracted in his lectures because his voice is so monotone. Literally, study on your own and go to the midterm and final review seminars and you'll pass.
imo he didn't teach me very well but he was quite boring during his lectures and read off the papers of text mostly. I did most of the studying myself and his finals and midterm were SIGNIFICANTLY harder than the homework assigned due to online learning. - Not very engaging during lectures - Good personality - homework is easy marks
This professor is a loser. Doesnt care about students and answers rudely when a question is asked. Gets frustrated when students dont understand concepts he has just taught. Managed to get an A+ because I am very good at math and taught myself, didnt learn from his lectures.
Awful. Absolutely awful. Awful at explaining the easiest of course concepts, at answering questions, and at recognizing student needs. The class wouldn't get any of the questions right that he put up as a poll, but he would just disregard that and continue. His exams are 10x harder than the in-class questions. Switch out if you can, otherwise GL.
Terrible professor, has major anger issues. Unable to teach, quite often rude and disrespectful if you dont understand a concept. Exams are insanely difficult compared to the homework and in class review. He wants you to fail. Switch out asap.
Student may not like him but he's the best option over other profs. His tests & exams are fair & if you put in the work to learn the content the you will do well. Assignment was so easy he literally shows you how to do it. Can come off as condescending to students who dont do well & he replies by saying to just study and follow his instructions.
This is one of the hardest classes in first year after QMS210. Boza is the nicest prof as he replies to all of my emails. I got a A- one of the highest in the class becuase I showed up to lectures. If your not good in math and do not show up to lectures you will fail. Sorry.
great prof! He explains every little thing from basic to the hardest level with patience.
Nothing can stop him from getting to the 3hr mark. Nothing. No multiple choice either.
Like most QMS profs, unless you are willing to self-teach and spend hours watching Khan Academy and Organic Chem Tutor videos, you are not going to have a fun time. Overall, loathe his lectures but the material isn't that bad. That said, if you do wish to major in EMS, thug it out. Otherwise, just avoid.
Lectures are very heavy. Wanted a different Professor but he was the only one available.
Only went to three lectures all semester so can't really comment on his teaching. If you understand the material well enough to complete the problems he includes on the lecture slides, you'll do very well in the course. My suggestion: read the textbook, do the MyLab questions, and then try to complete the questions on the lecture slides.
He's super underrated, his lectures are very well put together and explains the concepts pretty well. I recommend you go to class and follow along with the lectures, do my lab and textbook questions. He will give you as much credit as he can on the exams, he really cares about his students and will try to help you and ask for your feedback.
He will teach simple concepts in class, and the exam will be content you have never seen before worded in a way that you will not understand what is expected of you. Not helpful at all. Switch if you have him
If you are failing the class by 1-2%, just drop out as he won't grant you the 1-2%. You get to view midterms and exams only once on a specified date set by the prof, while being monitored. There is literally no room for discussion or negotiation for 1-2%, whether that being a reassessment, weight distribution..etc. Don't bother trying.
He makes the exams so difficult for no reason, so students can fail and have to retake him. Since no one wants him as a prof anyways.
Broza is more a 3.5, I skipped most of the lectures because they are approaching being useless. His slides aren't very intuitive either. What Broza does provide is absolutely fantastic test review! He says it won't look like the test, but it is nearly identical. Despite no MC, his tests are super fair. Also music is kinda rad
I'm in SAF & he's a perfectly fine professor. Our program is typically full of smarter kids as Tasic himself said we were the smartest class he's ever taught despite QMS 230 being harder than any other course he's ever taught. Those who gave the bad reviews lack IQ and just don't pay attention in class. They have no one to blame but themselves.
I personally do not understand why Boza gets so much hate. Yes, his lectures are heavy and dull, however, it is not impossible to get above A- in QMS702 unless you cheated all the way through QMS110 and lack a foundation in Algebra. You can do well in this course if you practice enough. Not to mention that he also helps you outside lectures.
Prof.Tasic is amazing, he gave clear explanation on all the statistics concepts with examples. His lectures were easy to follow, slides were well organized. As long as you attend the lectures and do his practice questions, it's an easy A. He gave quick response on emails as well.
I got a bad mark cus i didnt put much effort in. Final and midterms are manageable. He does good test prep and answers questions if you have them and is willing to help. you're allowed cheat sheets too. all the calculator inputs can get confusing but he shows them really clearly. you rlly have to pay attention in class
Go to the lectures, ask questions, study hard. Dr. Tasic pushes you hard but sets you up with some amazing understand of the fundamentals. This course is by no means easy, so fully engage yourself in the material. His lectures are long and detailed, they are hard and by extension it makes the exam feel easier. Take this prof if you want to learn.
Professor Tasic does a very good job at explaining the materials, and is always willing to help students. He provides good resources and lecture material. I will say that the tests are a bit difficult but this course in general is a very challenging one, and it is easy to fail if you fall behind. You really need to do the homework. Good luck!
Teacher is unhelpful, exam is hell, hated the course.
Lectures were heavy and long. He always goes the full 3 hours. He provides a decent amount of resources to help with the course. Exams were difficult and you must study a lot. He is passionate about what he teaches but can sometimes come off as condescending. Probably better than most profs who teach this course but still not great.
rassclat prof
Things that he teaches in lectures vs what he actually posts on the SPSS review are entirely different. We are supposed to MEMORIZE how computing works on an app that NOBODY uses... We need to memorize all these buttons and their function to do a quiz and we can't access the app during the quiz. This class is just really disappointing.
Boza doesn't teach; he reads the slides and doesn't break down the content. If you're bad at math, don't take his class. His tests are tough, and he doesn't give you enough time to complete them. Get ready to read & teach yourself statistics.
The course is pretty understandable and if you give it an effort it won't be difficult. The lectures were very informative and he seemed passionate about what he was teaching. Also answered questions well. The tests were manageable if you know what's going on in the class, and study a little.
I had Dr. Boza Tasic during the Winter 2024 semester and his class was fairly easy. For every lecture, he had videos to go along with it except for the last two lectures so things were fairly easy to understand without paying attention during lectures. His tests and final were easy. The only complaint is that his lectures take up the full 3 hours.
the lectures are very long and heavy but they're not too bad because he posts videos with them and his explanations in the video are very in depth. Most of his test questions are very similar to the practice questions that he makes himself and posts on D2L.
Statistics is a theoretical course, but QMS230 is more on the practical side of stats. This is fine if students already have a background in stats, however the vast majority of TRSM students do not. Dr. Boza works well with what he has, but QMS230 by default sets students for failure. This entire course needs to be revamped.
He is fine I want to be fair but I believe he needs to find a way to make this class easier because I have no problems with my assignments but when it comes to tests you can't differentiate which method to apply on statistics it is very confusing, and for the assignments, it will take your time it is just too much work... good luck
Created multiple parts for mylabs completely unrelated to the midterm and final.
I'm like a few weeks in and I seriously can not, I respect the guy he is very passionate about his subject, honestly good for him but his classes are so boring I've seen people who straight up left his class halfway because it's hard. I feel like he makes everything so complicated than he has to.He does provide other stuff to help but still.
Horrible prof. If you can avoid taking him, do it at all costs. I went to all of the classes and did all the homework. It was an 8 am class. He doesn't teach the material properly. After the first mid-term, he didn't tell us the class average because 30+ people got 0. The exam was suppose to be multiple choice, but was not.
Worst math professor I've ever had. I ended up dropping the course and I'm not even bad in math. His lectures are very heavy and boring. He reads off the slides and doesn't teach. MyLab assignments are not easy too and it takes forever to finish them. Midterm was a nightmare and the questions were not even close to what we practiced on. Avoid him!
his lectures are taught in a way that makes content seem more difficult than it is. it is easier to learn it yourself. the midterms are nothing like the weekly mylabs and chapter homework, and he doesn't teach you concepts that are on the tests. unless you're into european men who like to purposely make you fail, take it with anyone else
His lecture is about how to use a calculator, which is pretty useless. The assignment and his lecture are not relevant to the exam. Extremely difficult. He should make exam according to his lecture or teach lecture better.
Horrible professor
I hate him and his class is an understatement, he doesn't make sense AT ALL. Nothing he said after the first lecture made sense, everyone I know hates him. He purposefully made the final harder to see how we would perform. and I'm not even bitter about my grade, this is just the reality. Don't take his class if you are given alternatives if not gl.
Tasic Boza is honestly a caring prof who wants his students to succeed. This is ironic as he makes the exams WAY harder and in different formats than what he shows and what's in the textbook. Unless you are EXCELLENT at calculus I would avoid this prof. LEARN EVERYTHING he teaches and more to survive this class. Midterm class avg was 40%
Hard to understand and not very friendly hard grader
Avoid him at ALL COSTS, teaches math like an english course. Nautica Malone is better at his job than Boza.
He wears the same brown turtleneck and some variation of pants everyday. He doesn't test you on what he teaches you so good luck. He is a top earning prof (230k annually) at TMU yet he doesn't know how to teach this course.
doesn't even feel like a mathematics course, little to no application of concepts just drilling it in your brain and hoping it stays
can't run a quiz properly and expects students to effectively get 11 questions, with some written response questions completed within the span of 30 minutes. quiz also happened to end early giving students no chance to look over their answers and finalize them. joke of a professor.
I just want to say that Professor Tasić is really passionate about statistics and the subject at hand. I personally really enjoy his classes and I can tell he tries his best. But today, I just completed the first quiz and being totally honest, around 50% of the questions were not in lessons and Mylabs. Did so horrendous, might drop out and kms frfr
Doesn't post videos, lectures are extremely boring and uninformative, and he barely shows you steps on how to use the calculator for questions. He teaches a math course like an English course and he's honestly been the worst math prof I've ever had. Just try to learn the material out of class since going to his class is completely useless.
As much as I wanted to blame this class on myself and not understanding the course, I couldn't. His lectures are extremely boring, tests are in the theatre (balancing laptop, 2 calculators, 2 papers, pencil with two people beside you who are touching you) and he gives a lecture before the test and gives 90 min for the test. (unorganized tests)
Yeah. I just got my midterm back, and nothing on his midterms was correlated to his problem questions and his modules. Unbelievable. Has three lecture periods, each with 67 slides, and about 10 of those slides are useful. go to his class and it's a snooze fest. He shows all these formulas and brags about how UofT doesn't use calculators. Nice guy..
This course was tough. I don't know why they made it so complicated, even though it was hard to answer the midterm quiz. I got a very bad score, so I plan to drop this course. Its frustrating second semester they give us this kind of hard course.
The midterm had nothing to do with what he taught. Lectures are a chance to take a nap from how boring they are. The midterm was extremely difficult let alone having to do it in dsq when you don't have a desk and you gotta balance your laptop with your cheat sheet, pencil, 2 calculators and your hitting elbows with the 2 people beside you.
Honestly GET OUT OF THIS CLASS WHEN YOU CAN DO THIS WITH SOMEONE ELSE. hes a nice guy but the amount of work and how bad of a prof is ridiculous. HE GAVE ME A MODULE WITH QUESTOINS of 37 questions each going from A-D WHAT EVEN IS THAT. and i had a test back in between midterms in a theatre -_-. All nice but horrible. evil. not considerate.
the worst prof I've had so far he has the most mind-numbingly boring lectures, does an entire lecture before a test and expects people to pay attention. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS
He seems like a nice prof and is very passionate about stats.I wish he took more time going through questions rather than explaining the theoretical part of the course. Its very difficult to understand the concept when only theory is being taught and really little computations. This class could be taught much better and easier. The worst course.
Professsor simply talks throughout the lecture and makes it boring!!! With 1/3 of the class full he came to me and yelled at me infront of the class for wearing/using headphones in class although multipe students were also using thier phones at the same time. Hes a joke of a professor and none of the materials match whats on the test and quizes.
This prof is beyond terrible, despite all the bad reviews and a huge portion of the students dropping the course, I don't know why they still have him as a prof, being a first-year student, it is already hard to adapt to a new environment, and having profs who make it harder for such a competitive program. DONT TAKE HIM AT ALL. SAVE YOURSELF.
if “sike” was a professor. teaches you one thing; you learn it and get confident you'll do well; then you look at the first question on the test and cry. boza is a bozo
Felt like i was in an anime. I was gaining all this aura thinking i was smart ah hell coming into this test and coming out of it. He just dropped 5 big booms on me like it was nothing. It just astonishes me how this guy is a prof and makes the class so hard for no reason (such a simple class) not hard class horib prof save ur self and run away.
He doesn't teach well
Very long lectures and hard class/content. They need to revamp this class so it is much easier and shorter. Boza is horrible at teaching, he even said it himself even though the course is almost over. Fr need to find someone like Arashi (QMS 130 goat) to teach this course. Cut down the Mylab and slides, and make the damn tests straightforward
This prof is so horrible. He makes his tests and quizzes nothing like how he teaches in class. He expects us to review everything which isn't an issue but there is no similarity at all when it comes to this class. It's gotten so bad I couldn't be bothered to show up for the last month of lectures. His class is so tiring and long for no reason.
Run from this professor if you choose happiness. The bad reviews are accurate. His lecture slides are hefty and feels like reading essays (even tho it's a stats course). 30% of the test will cover practice and homework questions, and the rest will be unfamiliar. He makes 20 slides to explain formulas just to have you use a calculator in the end.
i miss arash islami. i despise this prof.
He's absolutely horrible. Worst professor I ever had. Teaching is horrible. Lectures before tests/quizzes. Lectures are long and heavy for a math course. Tests are nothing like the lecture content. It's sad how he's still teaching this course and is the only professor who teaches it. Only class I've done bad in uni and he's clearly the reason why.
Terrible professor. Doesn't actually teach, just reads off slides that don't help. His material is useless, and the tests are completely different from what he covers. You're on your own the whole semester. If you can, PLEASE help yourself. Take this course through Chang, hopefully they can add more professors to teach QMS230. Makes 2nd sem hell.
Really tough class and not taught well at all. The prof comes off like a chill guy, but his tests are way harder than what he actually teaches, feels super unfair. Honestly wouldn't recommend this professor if there are other options. But like with anything, if you stay on top of your stuff, you should be able to pass and do fine
Boza doesn't teach well, and class morale is at an all-time low, most people I know are struggling. His tests are way harder than what's taught, and he makes no exceptions. I'd suggest finding a different prof if you can. If not, lock in, grind it out, and you might just scrape a pass.
Doesn't properly teach, lectures make no sense and only few slides are actually helpful. Tests and quizzes have barely any similarity to homework and lecture examples. Crashed out because more then half of the students dropped out.
By far, the worst teacher I've ever had. I'm not even sure if I'm passing this class. He teaches the course like an English course. The concept is hard in itself, and each of his lecture slides is 48+. Lecture slides and MyLabs are different from what's given on tests and quizzes. Need better professors for this course.
This professor is by far one of the worst ones, even worse than my GMS200 professor. His tests are nothing like the practice questions, except for the quizzes, and the practice questions are technically useless for the tests 1 and 2. His lectures and slides are also very heavy, with one lecture that has 99 SLIDES. pls switch to chang for qms230.
If you think Mahdi is bad, this guy is 10x worse. Do anything BUT take this guy's class if there's options
The lectures slides are longer then my student number. Tests and quizzes are harder than me.
I just find it so fascinating that ALL the 4-5 star reviews of this guy are during the pandemic and online classes. Trust me when I say this: if you take it with this guy IN-PERSON, you're agree with the unanimous 1/5 stars from this and last semester. This guy traumatized me for life, not gonna pass this class. Like a death sentence.
Does not post videos, has 100-slide slide decks and majority is filled with useless information. Just put the instructions for how to use the calculator and when to use it please!!!! Such a confusing course.
Probably lost 37 years off my lifespan. Studied for 4 days straight for the exam and it was barely like the practice. Recall the Thinking questions from high school? Imagine a whole exam based on that but worse. Gonna actually kms 😭
Nothing on the exam, test, or quizzes look like what we've learned. He makes it so complicated - also the time frame for quizzes and tests is so small. try to avoid
He is a really bad prof. He expects everyone to learn at his pace even though he has a doctorate. He is very bad. Try to avoid at all cost
. Should be like the guy Islami who gives clear instructions and teaches stuf that will be on the test. His 3-hour lectures were so useless as he teaches bout theory, Skipped most of his lecture. know how to use the calculator. Also this bozo is not telling us the class avg for the final, cause ik everyone sold.
Professor does NOT know how to teach at all. Will not bump you up at ALL or even help you with extra credit. Do not even bother going to his lectures because you will not learn anything. You are better off trying to learn it on your own. Professor is all over the place during assessment days and poorly organized.
Worst prof by far posts useless 100 slide powerpoints where over half are completely irrelevant. His system for tests is also completely ridiculous, as completes a full lecture prior to his tests, even though most people are more concerned with the test later. I really hope I don't to deal with a professor as horrible as this guy ever again.
Horrible prof, the course was unnecessarily difficult due to the prof + cal. Any other prof is available, go for them instead. Or take this course through Chang. Every test had completely different questions from the practice. So many people dropped out because of the prof and he would not willingly listen or help the students.
The lectures were not very helpful, course content is not relevant to the program. The test format is terrible. Questions were worded as riddles; students spent more time reading questions than answering them. The final exam was treacherous. Try not to fail so you do not have to retake cuz I would hate for anyone to have to go through that twice.
maybe passing the class is overrated
Not a helpful prof. His slides are not useful and the material he posts for practice is completely different from what's actually on the tests. The practice tests are easier than the real ones which makes it hard to prepare properly. He doesn't curve or bump marks. If you can take this course with a different professor or through Chang School.
TO ANYONE WHO HAS A SECOND OPTION: DO NOT TAKE THIS PROF. as one of the only professors who teaches this excuse of a course; he makes it unbearable. The assignments take HOURS, and most of your marks come from the tests and quizzes, which are nothing like the assignments, mind you. The final was a waste of time as it used Nothing we learn in class
Do not believe any reviews mentioning anything good about this prof. Don't make the same mistake I did and think you're built different and you'll be able to power through this course. Unless you're a psychic, you will NOT be prepared for the tests. Please save yourself from this horrible professor and his horrible lectures. It isn't worth it.
gurt: yo MI BOMBOOOCLAAATT
pick a god and start praying
This class made me question my entire life. taking this prof is the equivalent to signing yourself up for jail. What's the point of over 100 slides but only like 5 are useful. he marks tests very hard for something he didn't even teach in the first place. i'd rather kms
Boza is a nice prof but his tests are something out of a movie and his lectures are horrible. He posts practice tests and proceeds to say “they won't be similar to the midterm” IT IS TRUE. He pulls the hardest lecture example questions and HW questions for those midterms. Once the first midterm grade dropped half the class was gone. RUNNN!
If I could give zero stars, I would. Worst academic experience ever. His teaching is unclear and confusing even for top students. He never returns tests; you must chase him for review. Gives practice Qs with no steps. Prioritizes attendance over real learning. Feedback changes nothing. Avoid this professor if you value your mental health and GPA
I (personally) did so much better in prof Tasic's 230 class than QMS 130, I barely passed 130, so I was kinda scared for this class. I don't understand these ratings, but nonetheless you'll really need to lock in to do well. Long weekly homework assignments too so do it ahead of time.
Most of our class failed due to the instructor's ineffective teaching style. He has the lowest rating I have ever seen among professors and should be avoided at all costs. He is unwilling to create supplementary resources, which would help students pass. He explains concepts too quickly for students to understand, and then students get demoralised.
Take him if you hate yourself.
The only thing I have to complain about this prof is how the exams are conducted. The criteria itself was okay to understand if you put into the work you will think that you will be doing well in this class, or atleast that is what I thought. I put a lot of effort but still then I only managed to barely pass. Midterms and exams are extremely hard.
QMS 702 was very challenging, the midterms were hard and the final was the hardest exam I have ever seen. But Bosa did give good resources like the pilot test and activity questions to help students succeed. The fill in the blank style of the tests is very hard and they were not similar to the my labs at all! Bosa does explain what will be tested.
Take him if you don't like getting rewarded for your hardwork, the difficulty level of the tests is nowhere near the homework questions, its almost like a whole another course and im good at algebra btw. I have never put in this much effort in any course in my life and I still averaged 20% on the tests and failed the course miserably.
very bad lectures. comes up with only 15 to 20 slides with couple of questions already answered in the slide. explaining the contents verbally for a math heavy course. 2 tests 20% each, mylabs 22% final 38%. tests and exams are fill in the blanks with some MC questions. do not take him if you are a practical person.
