Brad is very into his classical music. He is a good teacher, and is very enthusiastic about music. I learned a lot from this class, and it was an easy course, with open note tests. As long as you are a good note taker you are almost guaranteed an A.

He is one of the best professors i have ever had. He acts like your friend rather than your professor. TAKE NOTES and the test will be a breeze! I skip alot and i still did great!

One of the best professors I have had at Delta. Definitely approaches you as a friend and is very willing to take time out to make sure you understand the material. He understands not everyone goes into the class with a musical background. I would highly recommend him if you need any music classes!

He's a super nice guy. His notes can sometimes be confusing because he goes kind of fast, but he is always willing to clarify. He doesn't act superior because he's a professor; he acts more like one of your friends. He says "groovy" a lot. He is also a wonderful guitar player.

His class was pretty easy for me because I've taken piano lessons for 12 years. All of that music stuff is hard to learn in a short amount of time if you don't have any music background so be prepaired to study. Brad is very helpful if you don't understand something. He's groovy.

Brad really knows what he is teaching. He has a goofy sense of humor, which always makes a class better. The only part I didn't like was how we had to play the keyboards at least one time a week. I have no musical talent. But if you didn't know what you were doing, he would try to help.

About as considerate and decent a teacher as you will find. A lot of homework this semester but I think it was because of switching to a new book. Highly recommend this guy!

He's an excellent instructor and his class was pretty fun and easy. I got a little perturbed at all the political discussion (it was election '04) seeing as how it was a music class and he was very biased and wasn't afraid to show it. He's a good guy, though. I'd definitely recommend him.

Brad was an awesome professor. The pervious poster complaining about his politics likely just didn't agree with him. I was in his Fall 04 class and he was not biased at all. In fact he didn't even make it clear what side he was on until after the election, and only discussed it with students interested. He also discussed it in a respectful manner.

I believe that this teacher is GREAT!!! He really is pationate about what he teaches and is very respectful to all of his students. I definately would reccomend him for a professor. If you love Guitar or want to learn...TAKE THIS CLASS!!!

Great Prof! Loves what he does & is great at it! Makes guitar fun & easy. I highly recommend this class!!! Be prepared to practice a lot, but it is not hard if you practice. He's a great person & a great teacher. I have no complaints. Makes you feel successful even when you mess up & encourages you to do your best. One of the best profs I've had!!!

He is a rediculously easy, awesome, and just straight up "cool" guy. Probably one, if not the best teacher delta has to offer. Take him, even for****s and giggles!!! You really learn how to play guitar even if you have never learned it or picked one up in your life.

Dr. DeRoche is an excellent guitar professor. He encourages you to do the best. He can teach anyone how to play the guitar and have fun with it. He made the class fun. I would take his class again if the next level is made available. If you've never played the guitar, then you should take his class. He'll show you how to play like a pro.

BRAD RULES!!! Ive played guitar for almost 20 years, so I took his class for easy credits. Boy was I wrong. I learned so much about my playing, you cant help but be a better player.Brad talks to everyone on the same level, whether you born with an axe in your hand, or have never seen a guitar before in your life. Brad DeRoche is an amazing and talented, world class guitarist in his own right as well as an amazing, patient and kind instructor. Delta College is blessed to have the opportunity to have hired such a wonderfully talented and gracious person like Brad. My recommendation is if you're looking to take guitar then take Brad's Class it is worth it.

Derouche is an awesome guy and really knows his stuff. Very easy-going, slows it down for those who don't pick up as fast, really helpful. just take care of whats expected of you, PRACTICE, and everything will go great. Really teaches you the instrument and fun little riffs. Great teacher, great dude and i recommend him, he can really tear it up

Brad is wonderful. He is very helpful and understanding. He cares about his students and wants them to excel in his class. He is fair at what he expects and with his grading. I would recomend him for guitar and any class you can take with him. He is also easy on the eyes and fun to listen to also.

He's really cool. Very relaxed and makes class really easy-going. He'll teach you how to play any song you want to know. He's amazing at playing and you will learn a lot.

DeRoche is awesome. One of the funniest teachers I've ever had. As a professor, I wouldn't change a thing. If you're interested in music, you'll love him. However, I hated the class I took. HATED IT. I couldn't care less about the material. Alot of religious crap. GREAT teacher, awful class. I definitely do recommend him if you love music.

Brad is GREAT. If you want to learn music take his class. He never looks down on you if you don't know how to do something. He will help you and makes you feel good about it. He is funny and can play any type music. He makes the class fun. If you like music at all take Brads class.

I'm in his class right now and it's so fun! He's very laid back and almost hippee like. He explains things well and if you don't understand it he'll go back through. Very talented and you can tell he truly cares about what his students get out of the class. AWESOME prof!

GREAT guitar teacher! :) he's very helpful, but in order to be good in the glass, you HAVE to practice a lot and HAVE to have your own guitar at home to practice on everyday, otherwise you'll just end up getting frustrated. Sometimes he goes very fast with things and I don't quite get them. Write stuff down, it helps :)

He's the best professor around

Brad is one of Delta's finest treasures, and the best guitar player I have ever had the honor of knowing. To be able to study with a music Ph.D. at a community college price is a rare privilege! The information Brad shares with his students helps them to improve their guitar playing long after the semester is over. Great class and great teacher!

Easy to understand, and always helpful. Is willing to stay after or show up early to make sure you feel comfortable with the instrument. Knows his stuff too, he is quite the accomplished musician both with touring experience and formal education. If I had to do it all again, it would be with Brad!

Brad is super cool. He is a great musician and knows his stuff. His little stories helped me remember each song. If you miss one class you do kinda fall behind, but it was hard not to miss since I was so interested in learning. You don't need the book, I didn't have it and still got an A, music can be found online. Save yourself the $120.

Greatest professor ever! He is a great musician and really knows is craft. Very polite and helpful. If you practice outside of class you will do well. I can't believe the patience he has because a lot of people don't practice but he still takes the time to help those people with their parts. Great guy and hilarious, you won't regret taking him.

This class was a lot of fun! I really got into what we were learning. The tests can be kinda hard but if you fill out and really study the Study Sheets (they were extra credit) and listen to the music several times you will do just fine. He made me want to come to class every week. He is very fair with grading. He really wants you to do well.

Awesome man and teacher overall. I took his music appreciation class and guitar class and loved him through it all. He's absolutely hilarious, he loves telling stories from his hard-rocker past, and he's really into coffee. At the end of the semester, we had a fancy coffee taste test and it was amazing. Overall great professor.

Brad is a cool dude. Whether you are just starting to play or are a callused-hand veteran, this is the class for you. I learned many new techniques for guitar. Not for people with online gambling addictions!!!

Brad is by far the most awesome professor I could have had to start off my freshman year in college!! He never hesitated to listen to my many questions about the topics throughout the course. He does want students to learn music and he shows that by going over topics more than once so students get the whole picture. TAKE HIM!! He is the best!!

Mr. DeRoche is hilarious. Even though you are in there for 3 hours, he makes it fun and entertaining. You show up to class, takes notes and listen to a lot of music. One of my favorite classes ever. You are graded on tests and attendance. Doesn't get better than this!

Dr. DeRoche is not only good at teaching the subject, but has a real desire to see his students learn whether or not or just a grade. he is very personable in making sure you specifically understand the subject and not just the class as a whole. Overall, he is an excellent academic who wants to see people learn and think.

I did not know how to play the guitar AT ALL when the class started, and now I can play different songs that we learned. I also know how to read music now for when I start learning songs on my own. I took Professor DeRoche's music history on rock'n roll online. I really enjoyed his class. Make sure to do every assignment early! the chapters get longer as you progress. There were 42 chapters. Small quizzes, BIG exams. Takes lots of notes and you will do just fine.

Loved his class. He is so passionate about music and the online textbook was lengthy at times but very interesting because it was all about the history of music. The quizzes were very easy! He performs a concert at delta at the end of the semester and if you attend you get extra credit. I am so glad I attended his concert because it was amazing.

Dr. DeRoche was awesome! He ended up taking over for the class I had originally signed up for, but he was very helpful and really wanted students to succeed. Because the class he had taken over for didn't have a textbook, he made do w/o one, but said he typically uses one. Awesome class and as long as you study outside of class you'll do fine.

This class was so easy. It is all through an online platform, I never even spoke to this teacher once. It was so easy.

Brad is very considerate of how you do in his class. If you have a question for him, email him and he will get back to you right away. There are 3 lessons of homework each week along with 3 quizzes, but they are very easy for the most part. The exams were kind of difficult, but if you need to study, Quizlet is a good source. LOVE BRAD!!

He is really knowledgeable and understands what he is talking about! All you have to do is listen to his lectures, which are full of interesting material if you enjoy music. We merely had to make a brief analysis of the songs we had to listen to at home. Also, a fantastic guitarist! If you attend any of his shows, you will receive extra credit!

He's cool.

He's amazing all you need is a little access code for the online class and as long as you do the assignments you pass the class. We never meet and if you have questions the professor is quick to email back.

I took this class in high school for dual enrollment and it was great. I had a background in music already, but the information in this class helped me to expand my view on different developments in music over the years. There is an option on the online book to have it read to you which was extremely helpful to me. Great professor, great subject.

This class was so easy. You use a platform called C4E Learning. Most, if not all, of the answers to everything are on Quizlet. You can cheat. It is so easy. I never even talked to the professor once. He does send out weekly emails, but they aren't even very beneficial.

Probably the easiest class you will take in college. The only assignments are little quizzes and the midterm/final exam. Most of the questions are basic knowledge. I spent about 1 hour a week, but you aren't even required to submit the quizzes until the final week. Seems like a good guy with a passion for music. Only complaint is the cost for C4E.

This class was the highlight of my school week. I learned lots of fun information in a non-stressful way online and I have so many cool facts to share about my bands I loved this class and would take it 100 times over if I could.

Dr. DeRoche is in my top 2 for best professors I've ever had so far. I got three weeks behind in his seven-week course because of jury duty and STILL caught up and got an A-. He's also super nice, and, should you need help with something, all you have to do is email him. I'm taking another course of his and I'm confident I'll pass this one, too.

Easy class, online textbook and whole different online class than D2L. Very chill professor.

Midterm and final, weekly quizes, lots of reading. But overall super easy.

I had never picked up a guitar before this class. Dr. Deroche was so kind and caring towards all of his students. I asked for extra help on multiple occasions and he met up with me before class to give me extra tips. On our last day of class, he bought everyone doughnut holes too. He is an amazing professor.
