He tells good stories and breaks down law so it is easier to understand but it still is not an easy class.

While it is a difficult class it is all about understanding when laws apply. Going to class(paying attention also) and reading the book will help you pass this class or else you'll be screwed.

I actually thought he did a really good job at teaching stats. He was MUCH better than my previous professor. And he had a decent sence of humor. He brews his own beer, how bad can he be?

The class was tough but overall he did a good job explaining concepts through his use of examples. He expected alot of his students but if you worked hard then there wasnt a problem of whether or not you would pass.

This class was extremely difficult and grades are usually not pretty. However, people taking the CPA need this professor because doing so will give you an edge on the competition. He also teaches the CPA Review, so he prepares you for the exam.

He is a quality instructor who is very willing to offer assistance. His countless references to alcohol were hilarious. An "A" is attainable if you take good notes and don't hesitate to ask for help. Be prepared to work hard.

Great class!!! Take GOOD notes and you will do awesome; get to know him...very funny and personable. Stay on top of ALEKS!!! go to tutors...especially with the long hw assignments! Work hard, and get an A! GO TO CLASS!!!!

For such a boring topic, I think he makes it pretty interesting. Very friendly and helpful. He definitely makes you work hard though. The long homework and Aleks will require some time and work.

not that hard, but a****load of work. if you spend the 900 hours on aleks and understand the long assignments you should not get worse than a b, but it is a ton of work so dont get lazy... hes nice to good students and really mean to bad ones...

He is definitely not as bad as the undergraduate students say he is. My guess is that it is the maturity level of the student that changes the perception. He is funny, and very intelligent

Business Law was one of my favorite classes. Brad made the class very entertaining. I think his poor score on here is because he has less than intelligent students in UBUS 223, who do not want to put in the effort, but would prefer to complain incessantly about the class. Grow up sophmores. Not all classes are easy.

def not as bad as people say he is. He can be mean in class, but usually towards students who have no common sense. Aleks is very time consuming but do whatever it takes to get all the points (print out all explanations for each section this will help on assesments), make sure to study long assignments prior to exams.

Its not so much that he is a hard teacher but I think the class in general is hard. He was very funny and amusing during class but could get mean when people would not listen to his directions. ALEKS takes a lot of time and effort, but from what I heard is that they are getting rid of it. Dont buy the book and print out each explanation on ALEKS

I had him for stats and advanced business law. He is a very difficult, but good instructor. If you do the work and study hard, you should be able to get at least a B in the classes. If you go into his office hours and get extra help, he will be more generous to you in the final grade. If you're lazy and work scares you, you won't like his class.

You might hate his if you are not mature and intelligent enough to understand the way he teaches and his jokes as well. One of the best teachers I ever had. If you need help go and talk to him. I don't see what the big deal about this class is. If you go to class, take decent notes, and DO THE LONG ASSIGNMENTS, you will do fine. His stories are pretty entertaining. He isn't the easiest to talk to, but if you put forth a little effort, the class isn't bad. If you can't handle this class, get out of the college of business.

Tough class. However, this is by far the class that I have gotten the most out of so far in grad school. He is a very good teacher. Those that complain just dont want to put the effort to do well in the class. If you don't want to put the effort necessary than you shouldn't be in grad school. The only knock i have is to have more time on exams

The class was alot of work and time consuming. I took it over the summer so I was able to get an A but required lots of time. He expects alot out of his students. Hard class but if you put the time in and are fairly smart you can succeed. If you do well on homework manager and the long assignment you can get Bs on his tests and still pull off an A

They don't use the ALEX program anymore, so you don't have to worry about that. Yes the class is hard, but it's not the McDonald's fault- the material is rough. He does try to trick you sometimes, but he warns you about the "tricky" problems. If you don't go to class you don't have a chance. The clickers weren't used very often.

I took the class paranoid at the comments. He's NOT THAT BAD! Take the class in the summer (it's not as bad as you think) cuz homework takes a long time. Homework manager sucks and is wrong a lot. I don't know if he's different in the summer, but he seemed nice, sometimes is funny. Email him, ask him a question, and he'll answer it well.

he's not a bad teacher at all. more than half the people that take the class are idiots which is why the class average was so low. as long as you do the homework and study, you'll be fine.

I dont know what everyone is talking about, he is a good teacher and does know what he is talking about. Its just the material is confusing at times and you have to attend class to understand it. I dont think there is a better way to explain it than how he does, just do h/w manager and the long assignments and use your remotes. The class is curved.

Not the easiest of courses, but managable. I earned a B in the class and I worked for it. Some of his stories were just that stories. Other stories were told to put the subject matter into context. By spacing out on these I could see where one can run afoul of the course. This class is not fluff and niether is UBUS 223. Take them serious.

McDonald isn't a bad professor by any means and is very easy to talk to but this class isn't exactly easy. Go to the lectures or you'll be lost. There's some fluff to the grades (HW manager, regression proj.) but the tests are no joke; take them seriously. The book is easy to read and will usually be the best way to understand a concept. This class is so easy. I've never rated anyone on here, but I had to rate this guy because of all of these horrible comments. Don't believe them. I kid you not, these kids are so stupid it pains me. If they think it's hard, it's literally because they are extremely stupid.

If you can add or multiply and have half a brain this isn't hard. I have to go with the last guy. Most of the people here don't deserve to be in college.

Not as hard as people claim. He gives lots of useless anecdotes not necessarily making the subject matter easier to understand but gives some occasional humor. If you have the ability to comprehend and apply the equations it is easy.

This class is extremely difficult. Do every assignment to get as many points as you can. Get help if you need it. Professor McDonald isn't as intimidating as he seems if you talk to him. I met with him for help a couple times and he was really nice. TAKE THIS CLASS SERIOUSLY!!! Its hard but not impossible.

The most aggravating thing about him: it takes forever for him to get grades back. While he is the only teacher for this very large class, it takes him 3 weeks-1 month to get grades back on projects. If he doesn't have the ability to grade these assignments, he shouldn't assign them. If you don't know how you've done, it is hard to study for exams.

This class is not that bad. Trust me, there are worse lectures in the business dept. Just pay attention and study! Brad keeps the class interesting with alcohol jokes. Go to class and dont try and take it at a c.c. This is a better education, your hurting yourself

Amazing teacher. Told great stories that helped you remember the material. I loved this class. I learned more from him than I did in many of my other business classes. He makes you work, but you actually learn the material. GREAT PROFESSOR!!!!

If you thought it was hard or too much work...then you probably should not be in college. We're here to learn, right? If it was easy, everyone would do it. I'm happy there are those of you complaining and whining, in an interview I'll be the one who can actually talk about what I learned in class and not just reference the grade I received.

This class is great! very easy and fun, brad is an awsome teacher, very funny and very enthusiastic, easy blowoff class, dont stress about it, tests, quizes and hw are short and simple, all in all take this class! You will love it!

Actually enjoyed his class and his teaching. Had to work for even the C I got. Tests are hard, have to study hours to do average. Took this class at a dif college and got a A. Lori the recitation teacher made things more clear than Brad. Better off taking this at a community college instead.

Probably one of the funniest instructors I've ever had. He made every class interesting and I looked forward to every class. You have to be extremely thorough with your writing to do well on the writing assignments and the exams are very in-depth and require a lot of studying, but an A isn't impossible (he curves the exams, which helps).

This class was difficult and so was the topic, but definitely worth it. Passed with a 94 on the first try. He helps if you ask for it and has tons of ways to explain everything. He was always really funny, too. Tough tests and homework, but if you put in the work, no problem. I loved McDonald.

UBUS 223 is not an "easy" course. Subject matter,IMO, demands such magnitude of rigor. Statistics is arguably the most important subject for a B.of Science degree.100% on all HW, Quizes, other assignments is a must,its is possible.Exams; 1st Hard, 2nd Mediocre(Understanding this exam's subject matter is crucial), 3rd Easiest, Final=Insane.Curves.

I found him to be rather funny at times. It was a basic stats class, so making it interesting can be difficult. He was easy to get a hold of outside of class, and willing to work with students. The course is straightforward if you attend class and do the outside work it should be an easy A or B.

Prof. McDonald was very helpful with the material by breaking it down to layman's terms. The only gripes: having to take the online quiz prior to going over the material in class and sometimes the symbols don't match between him and the book. Overall, I would take his class again just make sure to study, do the homework, and attend the class.

Statistics is a very challenging area to study. I found that reading the materials and doing the online quiz/homework were the most helpful ways to learn. Prof. McDonald's notes were always exactly what he wanted you to know and tested you on. Study the written assignments, they will indicate how you perform on the tests. I enjoyed this prof.

He posts outlines to his lectures online. His lectures are full of good examples. His test are a little difficult. He makes you do essays on cases he makes up and grades like we are lawyers. He is also very unorganized and grades everything himself. the turn around for papers and tests are about 3 weeks minimum.

McDonald was a tough grader. He treated us as if we were graduate law students. However, if you go in for his office hours for help on the assignments, he will help you and give you all the info you need to get the highest grade possible on the assignment. DO THE HOMEWORK. He curved it at the end and it ended up saying my grade. Study for tests

I think that so many people this class and teacher sucks because they're so used to blow-off classes. Brad is a tough teacher and I studied hardcore, but I learned a TON in his class. It was my favorite class that semester.

I had McDonald as an instructor for business law back in the mid 90s. This is a topic that requires thinking and not a 'blowoff.' Brad is a good guy teaching a topic that requires some effort. Get value for your time and $$$ invested. Take the class, do it the right way and come away with the knowledge you should for a college level course!
