Alot of fun, great teacher, very clear and teaches in a easy to follow way.
Very good teacher. He has a lot of patience for people. He is very approachable and helpful.
He's a great professor. Always willing to help.
He is very helpful, and he always knows what he is doing.
Gives great notes, but makes his tests too long.
Gr8 in lab. He was able to make women in their 40s for their 1st chemistry understand it! I learned more in his lab than in diff teacher lecture. I didn't have Chem in high school & got a B! (I should've studied more :P) A+++
Great Professor and great man
He's very, very approachable and gives full attention to the student, wont let go of student til the student fully understands the topic. Available all the time and always have a positive attitude, always with a big smile on !!!!
by far the best teacher i had at lccc. very helpful& approachable. gets class interested in topic, is very enthusiastic about teaching. if u don't understand chem take brad-he's awesome. can be tough-wants u to know ur stuff-if u take brad u'll know ur stuff and u will be well prepared for future chem classes. trust me-he's the best! awesome person
Great guy, easy to get along with. Is willing to help with any problem you might have. Also, can get him off track easily if you start talking about video games

He is a great teacher. He will always be there to help you, but he expects alot from his students.
The best teacher i had here so far. Explains everything very well. Very willing to help you out if you have a problem. I took AP chem II in high school and didn't understand it all, and now i understand much much more. Great in lab also. Funny guy and easy to get along with. Definitly a science geek, and i mean that in a great way, cause i'm one!
Brad is AWESOME! the best teacher i've ever had. I've interacted with him alot outside of class, and he's just an all-around fun person! you will never regret taking a class with him! and i get to take another one with him this semester! :)
Brad is a great at teaching and very helpful. Super friendly as well.
Seriously a GREAT professor! Funny and down to earth. Teaches well and explains concepts in great detail. Always willing to help. Tests are not easy but if you follow along and keep up with the material they aren't too bad. I definately would highly recommend taking him to any student.
Brad is easily one of the best teachers I have ever had, and the first one I've ever bothered to rate. He makes chemistry interesting. He's always willing to help students who don't understand a concept. He engages his class and allows his students to learn through participation. He's funny. While his class is not easy by any means, it is worth it.
Brad is a hard, thorough professor who genuinely loves teaching chemistry. It is impossible not to catch his mania with chemistry, even if (like me) you are not scientifically-oriented.
I had Brad for lab and he was awesome! Very enthusiastic, loves chemistry, and loves teaching it! He really wants his students to know the material and succeed. Always willing to help, very nice guy. I wish I would have had him for lecture but he usually only teaches CHE 106 Lab, but you should take him if you have the chance :)
brad is the man!!!!!!!!!!!take him trust me you'll benefit alot.
Very enthusiastic and excited about the material, which makes some of the more dry sections easier to stay engaged with. Relies a bit too heavily on memorization for exams, making the grade based more on ability to commit dozens of formulas to memory instead of conceptual knowledge. Make sure you're very confident in algebra, or you'll get killed.
Brad makes chemistry fun an relevant with usful and funny examples. He is very nice and energetic, so try not to get annoied if you have him at 8am. There is not a lot of required memorized information besides the things that get stuck in your head from examples and homework. Tests are tough, but if you study you should do fine. Watch SIGFIGS!
Energetic & bubbly w/ a lovable sense of humor. So friendly & fun that chem-haters get sucked in.High demands but easy grade cuz he teaches so well it FEELS easy.If you only have him for Lab OR Lec you pass BOTH cuz he makes time to clarify what the other instr didn?t.Stays late, comes early, reviews 10 times if you ask.You WILL laugh & STILL LEARN!
Hands down the best teacher at LCCC! I dare someone to prove me wrong. Provides transparent explanations of topics and allows students to become fully engaged with his style of visual and auditory learning. Not to mention he will have your back outside and inside of class as long as you show him your potential. Highly recommend. A++
He is the best professor I ever had. He makes chemistry so easy to understand, and he doesn't mind to humiliate himself doing stupid stuff to make you understand the material. He is really energetic and silly fun. Taking his class was a life changing experience and he convinced me of how fun and intresting chemistry could be
Do NOT take his summer session. He has only taught CHE 111 in five weeks ONCE and only taught CHE 112 in five weeks ONCE as well. He overloads you with a near impossible amount of mandatory online homework to the point where you don't have time to do anything else because it takes 15-20 hours a week (outside of class) to finish it!
Outstanding teacher! Very helpful in office hours. Course is only as hard as the material, but he explains it well and his enthusiasm keeps you interested. tests are fair, but you do need to study and pay attention. Easy to talk to, won't make you feel dumb. breaks the material down to make it understandable, but be ready to memorize some material.
Keep hard work.he will notice it surely. show up everyday. do ur hw and lab.u will get atleast a B
A fair teacher and easy to understand. Doesn't stand for cheating of any kind. Just make sure you get him for lab as well as class. The tests cover both, and if you don't learn it in lab, you won't get it right on the test.
THE BEST CHEMISTRY PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD. HE EXPLAINS THINGS SO YOU UNDERSTAND THEM AND HE GOES OUT OF HIS WAY TO HELP IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS HE DOESN'T RESPOND TO HIS EMAILS OR PHONE CALLS.
Best prof I ever had. Made learning fun. Took his summer course (i.e. 4 hours of lecture twice a week) and I loved going to class. Make sure you get him for both lecture and lab.
This guy makes me want to do well in his class! hes so relatable and just an extremely kind person. His classic diet coke and candy bar make him all the more lovable.
Great proffesor, knows what he is talking about and helps you if you ask. Explains thing clearly and makes it relatibal to you.
The best chemistry professor I ever had. This guy definitely knows what he is talking about. I transferred from a small private college where the professor there did squat. Having Brad was truly amazing. He took interest in the students and made you want to learn the material. As long as you do the homework and show up to lecture you will do fine.
Chemistry itself is challenging but Brad will help you actually learn it. He is very helpful. If you do your mastering chemistry homework, show up to class and put forth some effort you will do just fine. Brad is fair on all tests and labs. If your taking chemistry make sure its with Brad!!
Brad is an amazing professor and I love his classes! He's extremely helpful and his class is always entertaining. I recommend him to everyone!
Brad is easily one of the best instructors I've had. He's kind and fair, and absolutely devoted to helping students learn. He made a summer course entertaining and very worthwhile. He's the kind of guy you'd want to go to a pool party with. I wouldn't mind if he taught all of my classes.
I took the same class at a relatively small liberal arts college, the difference in lab procedure has been 180*. Brad teaches truly practical and applicable lab procedure, which has had influence on my lab procedure in general. He goes out of his way to set a high standard, which will stay with me in my professional life.
He doesn't return lab reports and quizzes. It's hard to tell if he grades them, or just looks them over. It's a shame because he's an amazing teacher. If he returned everything that is turned in he'd be 10x better. If you want to be graded accurately, take another teacher.
Brad is by far the best professor I have ever had. He made this class very understandable and useful for the field I plan to go into. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and I hope my upcoming professors are half as good as he is. I was really nervous going into this class but his lectures and labs went together very well making it easier
Arguably one of the best Professors I've ever had. Did not stress out/work more than I had to b/c of his unique way of teaching. I normally do not have to work hard for a B, but I knew this being taught in just 5 weeks would be somewhat of a challenge. It was thanks to Professor Prutzman's way of teaching that I felt comfortable taking this class.
Brad is an amazing professor. His lectures make the subject matter much more comprehensive, making the whole class a lot more manageable. This is the first professor I've had where I felt like I couldn't just skip class and read the book, because he made things a lot clearer, and even has little stories and things to help you remember things well.
Brad made chemistry a LOT easier for me. I am so glad that I took him for this class. By far one of the best teachers I've ever had. He is also a great person and easy to talk to. I really recommend him!
Good professor, Helpful, nice, funny, makes class go bye fast, Also gives help when needed. Mastering Chemistry is useful. He gives breaks even though sometimes we need and don't need them. Tests are average tests. He gives multi-Choice which is good and gives easy questions and hard questions. Need to study but do not need to stay up every night..
Brad is a great teacher. His lectures are way better than any other professor I've taken at LCCC, clarity wise and entertaining. Be prepared to take notes, he does not use power-point. His tests are medium to difficult. Make sure to show work or logic for any question, especially multiple choice for any partial credit. Very fair grader.
I took Brad for Physiological Chem for the 10 week summer course and I would suggest him to anyone who needs to take a chem class at LCCC. He makes the material VERY understandable and he's just a really awesome dude. Tests are very straight forward-tells you everything in lecture that you need to know for the exam
Dr. Prutzman was by far the best professor I have every had (even after 5 years of schooling at Temple U.) He is very easy to understand and breaks down Chemistry in a way that is really easy to comprehend. With that being said, his exams are challenging and studying is absolutely necessary. But how are you going to learn if you don't work, right?!
He is an interesting and fun professor to have but I would never take him again. He explained things in too much detail, confusing me and my friend. He could have simplified the lessons so much to get his point across but he did not. He goes off on tangents and expects too much of students.
Excellent prof. Explains concepts clearly and concisely, gives you step-by-step instructions to solve problems, and tells you exactly what you need to know for exams. Sets high expectations for students, but gives them the skills to meet them. Approachable, kind, entertaining, and really cares for his students. Makes a tough subject doable.
I took Brad's chem course over the summer and he is by far the best teacher I've ever had. He is extremely detailed on what he expects you to know and what you'll be tested on. He has a lot of fun with the material and makes the course go by really quickly. I would ABSOLUTELY take him again if I needed to take another chemistry course.
I had him as my chemistry instructor for Chem 111, or Gen Chem 1, and I have to say he is the absolute best teacher i have ever had, whether it be in college or in high school. He is passionate about teaching and gives great lectures. He makes it clear what he expects from us, which can sometimes be a lot. Brad is a great instructor.
Hands down the greatest professor I've ever had. He's very understanding, he makes is lectures interesting. His test are hard but if you study you'll pass.
Simply in two words, Freaking awesome! super energetic and loves his job. He really makes you wanting to become a teacher after going to his lectures. Super intellegent and knows the material. Eventhou I am going through both of general chemistry classes over the summer, but I still learning the material since he knows how to teach it well.
LOVED Brad! I was so scared to take Chemistry but he explains things so logically. He is very animated and loves his work, he's a little silly and distracted at times. I really appreciated the elementary-level explanations because chemistry is HARD! His tests aren't made to trick you. Would love to take again.
Great professor and willing to help if you need it. Really cares about his students. Super fun lectures. His exams can be challenging but they prepare you to be successful in Chemistry. Highly recommend.
Gives amazing lectures and cares about his students. If youre a student who likes to know their grade right away, you wont know until the end of the semester. Youll know an estimate but grades are never posted online. Doesnt respond to emails often and sometimes explains in too much detail. Youll live in the tutoring center if you take him.
I had Professor Prutzman for General Chem I and II. It was an honor to have his as my lecture and lab professor for two semesters in a row. He taught me my foundation of chemistry. He is an extremely fair professor. . If you attend every lecture, pay attention, and study the lecture material, you will do well. He cares and puts heart into lectures.
Brad is an excellent professor and his lectures are fun and engaging. He even convinced me to switch to a chem-tech major. He explains complicated topics very well and makes them a lot easier to understand. The class was tough but he made it a lot better. He is possibly the best professor I have had and I would highly recommend him.
Brad was the best professor I have ever had. He loves his job and conveys the message clearly. He made Physiological Chemistry seem easy. If you grasp what he teaches, and similarly practice more you shall pass. No pop up quizzes. I would highly recommend him to others.
Brad cares about you individually. You are not a #. He MAKES TIME for you. I've met with him many times to discuss future schools and what track to take. He loves his job and is so passionate. One of the best humans I've ever met. With that said, if you miss more than three classes, you fail. Show up+Do the workPassing grade. Lab is 40% of grade
For a 5 week course definitely challenging. He cares though. Even if you struggle you'll find that he'll try to do everything to help you.
Brad is the most amazing professor I have ever been blessed with having for 2 chemistry courses back to back and with many more to come! He inspired me to pick up the chem tech major and explore my love for chemistry further. If you put in effort and participate, he will respect you and will help you with anything if you ask, even if its not chem!
literally the best professor ever. had him for chem 1 in the spring and chem 2 in the fall and he was amazing... just show up to class/lab, do your hw, and study from the textbook and youll be on the road to an A. also, does he not talk/act exactly like antoni from queer eye???
I had Brad for CHE 111 & 112 lecture/lab over the summer. He made chemistry as relatable, and understandable, than I could possibly hope for. Lecture is laid out logically and he has great methodology for describing many processes. He is only tough in terms of expecting you to put forth full effort. Also go to tutoring, Dave is so helpful!
Ive had Brad for Chem111 Lecture AND Lab for about 2 months now and I think he's a solid professor. He seems so into what he's doing and he really goes all out to explain things in his lectures and include the class in solving equations and such. He is also type funny and likes to tell short side stories. His work is challenging but he explains wel
Easily one of the best professors I've ever had. Makes Chemistry fun although it can be challenging at times. Excellent!
Brad is by far my favorite professor. He is insanely talented and has much to offer in the realm of chemistry. I hated chemistry in high school (I took honors chem and AP chem) but his class completely changed that. If you have the chance, take his class. However, you must study if you want to do well on exams because they are hard but that's it.
Brad is a great professor. His tests are very difficult so make sure to study ahead of time. His lectures are very engaging and his way of taking notes is very helpful. If you have him for lab, I am pretty sure he does not even look at them. He never hands them back, that is my only complaint. He claims he is not allowed to, which is not true.
First off: This online chem class was extremely difficult b/c it was a 5-week Chem course. However, he's unbelievably great at explaining material. Beware: you WILL get more homework the day before the exams and it WILL be time consuming. My biggest advice-- do practice problems after each lecture. Don't fall behind, you'll never catch up in time
Brad is passionate about what he teaches, but has little patience for questions. He also claims to know everything about 4 year universities. I took this class over the summer, but attend a 4-yr normally. He doesn't give out review sheets because he claims a 4-yr will laugh at you if you ask, but that is not even close to true. Slightly irritating.
Brad is a great teacher who really tries to help you understand the coursework. He makes everything feel easy to do, even the hard content. His labs are also fun and he strives to help you. However, be aware of the first test. It will be insanely difficult so he can make a point about how you need to be ready for future classes.1 Makeup test given.
Don't even waste your time with this guy. He is so cocky and thinks he knows everything. He gets off topic in lectures and he thinks everyone taking his class is a health care major which is NOT true, I'm a criminal justice and I need two sciences so that's why I'm taking this. He is so far behind than our lab class. So nothing is in sync.
Hard class since its online. Felt like lectures were very vague.
has given many backhanded comments about nurses. has messed up teaching problems correctly on numerous occasions. too intimidating to ask question in front of the class because he will embarrass you. Sarcastic and doesn't help the class when the lowest exam was an 18 and the highest was only an 82. very behind with the pace of a different lab prof.
Put aside insults, condescending af, inflexibility, love of humiliation, his inability to see the impact of the pandemic: I'd say he's a fair-at-best teacher. If possible, steer clear. I was only 2% from a B, but his tests are very difficult. He touted a 50% national failure rate at the start of the class. Important info is skipped but on tests
(1) I do not think I have ever met a professor this disrespectful. His #1 hobby is to embarrass his students. I have seen him full on SCREAM at people if they get anything wrong during labs. I was very shocked when he showed this behavior and was speechless. In all respect (what I have left for him) he should be fired or re-evaluate himself.
(2)(continued) I am to this day in shock I passed the class with a B. I can not judge him by his teaching style because I have seen worse, but I can by his character. I had no idea he has treated anyone else this way, until I read a review here and decided to share what I have seen in my class.
I would not want to have this professor again, his is very full of himself, acts like we already know what hes talking about for the first time, hes very rude and made some snarky remarks towards nurses. Overall, hes not a nice professor and honestly makes it hard to ask simple questions because ive seen him full on call out students.
Interesting, but lectures did not do good job of indicating what would be on tests. Not enough time given for tests either. Did not work through enough examples in class. Feedback isn't given on homework or labs, so you really don't get much insight into how you're mastering material until you pass or bomb a test. Really stressful, honestly!
Very hard on his students and expects a lot from them. He isn't the most patient or understanding Professor. He overworks students by making long assignments due within a short period of time. Not sure if it's just for this semester, but he mentioned that we would be doing four semesters worth of Chemistry in one semester. Would never take again.
He does not help students and seems to have an enjoyment in embarrassing his students and making them feel bad for not understanding what we're doing right away. He gives you little time to prepare for things but claims that a week is PLENTY of time however he fails to understand everyone learns different plus with this pandemic it's hard to learn.
Brad is a good professor but you will have to work for your grade in his class. He isnt like every other professor where you do what you want but he lectures so good. He explains things soo well. I loved his lecture!
Professor Prutzman while not an "easy" or "laid back" professor is someone who gets you to actually learn the material. Zoom lectures make it hard to understand and remember the material but the way he teaches allows for it to be easier. Assigns homework but not too much and you get a week to do it. Tests are fairly straight forward.
He's honestly the best professor I've ever had. He's great at explaining topics for his students to understand. Although he does ask questions to the class, he never leaves anyone out and makes sure to ask every student at least one question to make sure we understand. Overall, I highly recommend him. He made learning complex concepts seem easy!
During Covid I have found it hard to learn online however, Professor Prutzman has made it a lot easier. The cameras being on and he asks every student questions to make sure they understand what he is teaching. As long as you take good notes, show up, read your book, and ask questions when you are confused you will definitely do great in his class!
Nothing but good things to say about Professor Prutzman. He may not be as laidback as other professors, especially through zoom, but he knows how to make someone enjoy what they're learning while still making you work for it. I have never had a professor as caring, yet firm, as he is. He makes learning so enjoyable and WANTS to see you succeed!
(2) He says he has no compassion for students falling behind, basically. And he gets mad if you do not want to show yourself on screen. I understand the reasoning, but he seems to not understand the students' reasoning. A couple students could not connect due to WiFi, and he was harsh about it, saying it's not his problem and they need to fix it.
(3) About the WiFi, even if you show up a few minutes late, he gives a shallow apology saying "Sorry, but you're still late. Glad you're here though!". And you are automatically kicked if you miss 7 days of class, even if you show up late. Not everyone has great WiFi, or could afford it, sorry Brad. We also get HW on stuff we never learned in time
Professor Prutzman is an amazing professor for the fact that he explains the material well in a fun and comprehensible way. While face to face is a much easier atmosphere to learn in, he still manages to interact with his students to be sure everyone is capable to pass. I faced a difficult year/semester and he is so caring and accommodating.
This professor does not care about you or your studies. He has a terrible habit of humiliating and belittling students whenever they're lost and have a question.
I took his Chem II class at Del Val because everyone said how much they loved him. I found him to be a very disrespectful professor. He constantly forgot to put homework assignments up (a problem when class is once a week) and expects you to understand chem as well as he does. Constantly talked about how he's an amazing professor... he's not.
He raves about how he's a great teacher and I've gotten nothing but below 50% on all of his tests. He won't explain the homework because he "doesn't have time". I took this class at Delval and he's only there once a week so getting him to help you is impossible. He makes you feel as though you're stupid if you don't understand a topic. Awful.
Great lecture. Expectations for this class were made known on day 1-no surprises in the grading scheme. Homework accounts for 20% of the final grade. Show up for class! Read the book! If help is needed, there's a great chem tutor. I highly recommend brad as an instructor. Also gives partial points on math portion of exams!
I took chem lab with Brad. At the end of the semester, and after being in other lab classes, I know there's no safer instructor. I saw some dangerous things people were doing in other labs and am very glad I was taught by someone who cares to enforce safety practices. Lab has pre- and post- lab report, experiments are explained at start of class.
Professor was super easy going and makes the class fun but he blows through the material super quick. I had a super hard time trying to catch up with the work and all his notes are handwritten for every lecture which made it difficult to review the teacher's notes. I would recommend reading the textbook as he teaches.
Be aware that you will not know your grade the entire semester. Dr Prutzman likes to grade everything during finals week and does not answer emails or attend his own office hours, so you'll have no clue what your grade looks like until final grades are due. Good luck.
He's not a bad guy except for the fact that he doesn't care to fail his students. If you don't know the material you're classified as dumb. He has quizzes in each lab so be prepared for each meeting time. He doesn't' grade until the last minute so I'd find another professor if you like to know your grades. Good luck
Professor Brad Prutzman was a very harsh grader and professor. He lacks compassion for his students and does not hesitate to belittle you. He will not hesitate to fail you.
I love Brad, he didn't force me to write this review at all lol. Despite what other students think he is very fair and he does give extra credit to the good students if you know what I mean ;). I recommend him definitely a 10/10, especially when he's coaching you alone ;).
Brad lacks compassion, he is rude and likes to brag ALL THE TIME. He NEVER grades on time. Worst ever.
He genuinely does care about you, and wants you to succeed. As long as you try your hardest and show up consistently he will help you in whatever way he can!
Brad is a great professor with an engaging teaching style. The class is fast paced and you will be expected to memorize a lot, often with little time before an exam. However, if are a STEM student who wants to be made to thinks in ways you haven't before and be given a completely new perspective on science, take Brad's class, it's worth it.
Do NOT take Brad. He doesn't grade on time, lazy professor. Brags all the time.
I'm an old student of Brad's, but I haven't had another prof like him since. He sparked my love for chemistry and genuinely wanted me to succeed. I took him for gen chem 1&2, and analytical 1. Very lively, his workload is tough but not unreasonable. He doesn't set you up to fail. I wish I could take more of his classes again!
Professor Brad was by far the best professor I have had for any class. He's very easy to reach out to anytime you needed. If you had a question, he would take you through step by step. He was a very easy grader and gave you points where you deserved them. Gotta love his 30-second vacations. Make sure you take brad in lecture AND lab, it's worth it.
Brad is the best chemistry professor I have ever met. I can always sit in his lectures for hours without being bored. I wish there were more classes with him so I could take them. Thank you, Brad, because you make me love chemistry more.
English isn't my first language. I was taking Analytical Chemistry with Brad. He always tried his best to help me understand everything he was teaching. Science class requires lots of science jargon and good writing. He always encouraged me, saying I could do it - and I did! Thanks, Brad, for helping me and making me love chemistry even more.
I really enjoyed this class. The professor is passionate about the subject and provides clear expectations. It's lecture-heavy, but great for note-takers. Attending class and taking the professor's instructions literally is key to success. I also had him for Chem II, and it was a similar experience. He wants you to do your best.
I do not recommend this prof. 3 exams throughout the semester plus a cumulative exam at the end. Make sure you are taking notes because he "absolutely can't go back to his past notes if you missed anything" Be ready to memorize a bunch of material that you will need to take all exams. He will go out of his way to belittle you. -_- OKAY OKAY OKAY!!
Brad is an engaging professor who challenges you to think differently about chemistry. Attend class, study with unstuck AI, and you'll find the fast pace is worth it for a fresh perspective.
Brad was just all around a bad professor. proceeded to tell everyone if you took an online class it wasnt going to transfer to a four year college and you basically didnt take those classes. He also had a lack of “life happens” and told us no matter what happens you better be to class at 6 on the dot or your absent no matter what! Do not take him.
While Professor Brad is knowledgeable, his frequent tangents, boasting about his PhD, and unprofessional remarks about colleagues detracted from learning. Responses to student questions were often dismissive. Publicly addressing reviews and inconsistent policies created discomfort. A respectful, clear approach would improve the class experience.
one thing is he would never reply back to emails, so its going to be difficult getting a hold of him outside of class
I had Brad twice once for Chem I and Chem II. His tests are HARD and wording on questions is always confusing. I never got higher than a 70 on a test even after studying for hours. But, he lectures well, answers questions, helped outside of class, and loves chemistry. He is also a pretty blunt so respect him and be on time, he doesnt mess around.
So I studied as much as I possibly could and still failed the exams. Thank god for my lab grade. I thought that because he teaches multiple concepts at the same time, if that makes sense. I wouldn't take him again, but I have. He's a great guy, really is, but I had to start new anxiety medications to control my eye twitch.
Absolutely the worst professor I've had. No empathy, always pressuring students, and constantly saying we'll fail. He's strict, discouraging, and creates a toxic class environment. If you want to actually learn and not be stressed 24/7, avoid him at all costs.
Tough class but fair. The professor is strict about deadlines and participation, but the expectations are clear and grading is consistent. The material is challenging, but if you keep up with the homework and labs, you can do well.
Would constantly compare our class (DelVal) to his classes at Lehigh. He was constantly over complicating lessons. Student instruction the day before class had to reteach every lesson because he refuses to go over things from the lesson. Once told me he rather increase student suicide in favor of classes year round. Class celebrated when he's sick.
