very bad teacher, considering its a 102 class it should be easy but its not.

I took the TV class. You cannot write a good enough essay for this man. He is very smart but if you want to take a TV course you better really need to take it otherwise take another class. He really does not care about his students at all.
an inconsiderate man who is oblivious to the demands of the students
I took the TV class and failed it. I swear this guy isn't easy to please when it comes to the essays.
what a egocentric bigot!
If you understood proper grammar you would know egocentric should be preceeded with "an." You obviously do not know Professor Reynolds-he is great!
i took TV class.no follow-up. he doesn't care student at all.
Does not care about students. Very borish.
does not explain things well...goes off topic...he does not lecture very well...mostly plugs in his trips too much
Took the "online" version of the class. It was not online at all, it was pure independent study. He grades fairly easy, as long as you do the work and take the midterm and final you are good to go. Knows his stuff, easy to get a hold of. School wouldn't buy my books back though.
ALL THIS GUY TALKS ABOUT IS HOW THE BOOKS THAT YOU NEED FOR THE CLASS, HE WROTE. THEY ARE TERRIBLE, HE ALSO TRIES TO GET PEOPLE TO SIGN UP FOR HIS STUPID CRUISES VACATIONS. DO NOT TAKE THIS GUY
Maybe you guys should check out His rating on Cal State Northridge's rating. He is a great teacher. I guess just some people aren't made to learn.
I took him at CSUN and he wasn't too bad, but his tests are super hard. You don't even need to show up but unfortuately he takes role. I got a B after i studied my butt off.
One of the best History teachers I ever took. He is a lot of fun and tells great stories. I really enjoyed his laid back teaching style (but you must do the work). His class is a lot of fun.
The professor is never available. He is extremely egotistical, you better not dare call him anything but doctor. He doesn't move, and yet assigns a lot of homework. Busy work does not make a class hard, just boring.
What an ego! Talk about tenure, you will see the living proof of what it can do. I took this class online, which was more of an Independent study than anything else. He is extremely condescending and yet, doesn´t prepare his lessons. He sells you that hedious book, which consists merely of his personal notes. What a tour salesman. Frightening!
I took his tv course, if you memorize the questions in the book you'll be fine. Just make sure your essays are extremely well planned and detailed, thats where he gets you!
THIS CLASS IS HORRIBLE. HE IS ONE OF THE WORST TEACHERS I HAVE HAD A COC. ALL HE TALKS ABOUT ARE HIS STUPID TRIPS. I TOOK IT ON TV AND HE CANCELLED THE REVIEW SESSION SO THAT HE COULD TAKE A LONGER VACATION. DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER!!!

Worst history teacher I ever had. I went on one of his trips. He doesn’t explain the assignments clearly. Most of the students were confused. When someone asked him for help he seemed mad and agitated. He doesn’t care about he’s students and he makes that very clear. His class was a waist of time.
I've been on two of his trips and I'm going on a thrid in Jan and have taken all the classes he offers. The multiple choice are for real. For the TV class, don't bother watching the boring UCLA dude just really read the text. Email is the best form of contact. Study all the essays. If you take it in summer, he's way more relaxed.
The guy is an airhead, I tried to reschedule tests with him and he constantly forgets. Also when he graded my papers I couldn't read anything he wrote. Not very helpful at all!
He seems okay at first, but when grading VERY critical and harsh. Gets agitated at things that he shouldn't (little things.... and things that he does not fully understand). He's very abrupt. I would recommend taking a different teacher if possible.

He misrecorded my test grade and gave me an 'F' when I earned an 'A'. I am being forced to fight for the grade that I earned. Keep all original copies of your work and tests in case you, too, are forced to correct his blunders.
STRAIGHT UP-NO JOKE-JERK!!!! WORST TEACHER AT COC! HIS PH.D MUST STAND FOR PLAIN HIGHSCHOOL DIPLOMA. DOESNT KNOW ANYTHING, AND BY FAR THE MOST UNFAIR GRADER!! DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!!!!! YOU WILL REGRET IT!
Please note that Reynolds teaches at CSUN and i think the person prior to this message who denounces him must be a moron because Reynolds is not only brilliant he's so easy! He can't stand slackers but he is really easy (especially in summer and winter classes). I've gotten As in all his classes. It's way easy dude I dont know what ur talking about
To the comment below - You must have taken one of his cruises.
He is an arrogant ass.
To the person below, I know exactly what you are talking about. Please fight it.... I am fighting a wrong grade being submitted for myself. DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER.... if you have a choice.
(Online) I'm not sure how his lecture classes are but his online class is extremely easy. Theres only 2 tests no final. either choose 2 essays (1 =50% of grade and lower one 30%) or 1 essay = 50% and 1 MC =30%. MC comes straight from his book meaning questions and answers already in there. not too time consuming and very easy to get a B.
gives you ALL the questions for the test ON THE FIRST DAY. Anyone that complains didn't study because he gives you all the questions day one. Multiples come right out of practice test in book & essay q's on syllabus. JUST STUDY MORONS!!
What can one say about Dr. Reynolds? Except for the fact that he is infactuated with himself. His ego is bigger than ... I cannot name that large of an object. The subject is easy, the questions to his tests are on the back of his book of personal notes that he makes you buy. I wonder why anyone published that crap. He is unberably arrogant.
He is horrible. I took his online class and he is very unorganized. He is not one bit helpful and had me re submit my papers to him via email many times becuase he somehow lost them. Do not take this class!!!
His classes are too easy, not even High School level. Just prepare three outlines for the essay questions (doesn't require too much effort), review the multiple choice questions in the book, and do the articles/projects. Anyone who fails this class is not meant for independent study. I will take as many courses as I can as they are sooo easy.
Easy A if you read the textbook, study the questions, plan your essays and do the outside assignments and news articles. No lectures, so you do need self-discipline so that you're ready for the 2 exams. My favorite kind of teacher.
Are you kidding. How did he become a teacher. He doesnt help you what so ever, his tests are a joke and his essays, well thats just crazy. As someone has said before, he lost my emails with my essays, I had to send them multiple times! I cannot believe he is a teacher! A bad one at that. He so obsessive about writing Dr. Reynolds, on everything!
I had Reynolds for his CTV course, and let me tell you...if you didn't study, you would fail. The only part of the grade involved your midterm and final. But don't study too much..in the handout for the class, he tell you to study 3 essay topics, but during the actual test, he lets you choose which one you wanna write about. When I encounterd hi
I took history 112 online it was super easy just make sure you spread out the papers you have to do. I spent a week 1/2 doing them everynight because I procrastinated. If you do the papers spread out across the semester it will be super easy and I recommend the class.
I took this class during the winter intersession. You would think that during a month long semester, the instructor would cut down the assignments. Not so! You are expected to do the same amount of work as you would during the full 17 week semester-in 4 weeks! I did all the assignments, and still got a D in the class. What a waste!
Took an online summer class. Between projects, essays and articles-I've never written so much before in my life!! Very rough when grading essays. It better be well structured! Final was a cinch-he gives all the answers. Mistakingly gave me a B, and had to re-email all of my work cause he deleted it. Seemed apprehensive to admit he made a mistake.
Online class took up all of my time. Thank god I was not working at the time or I would have NEVER completed all assignments. Very picky on essays (can't use ANYTHING but textbook), but everything else you can get credit on as long as you turn it in on time.
I took this class online and it was so extremely confusing. He has no blackboard and you are responsible for interpreting his elusive and disorderly syllabus. I love learning about history so it was even more frustrating for me when I learned that I was to basically teach myself from the book. I just would have liked more involvement from him.
HE WAS THE WORST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD. HIS SYLLABUS IS VERY CONFUSING AND HIS CLASS POORLY ORGANIZED. I HAD A MEDICAL REASON TO WITHDRAW FROM THE CLASS AND HE WOULD NOT APPROVE IT. HE LOST ALL MY PAPERS THAT I SUBMITTED BECAUSE HE SITS ON A BOAT WITH HIS BLACKBERRY. I HAD TO TAKE A FAIL FOR THE CLASS AND ITS MY MAJOR. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!!!!
Take the TV course if you want to avoid Reynolds's annoying 10 projects and 10 current events super-duper busy work and if you can cope with indy study. Memorize the Multi choice questions, they're straight from his outline book. You have to STUDY for the essay questions because you can't BS your way through a midterm and final. Lots of classmates dropped like flies at midterm. If you're good at writing essays, you'll make it.
I took his online winter class which was an extremely easy class and an easy A. Unfortunately, I hardly learned anything and really disliked his negative, egotistic attitude. It's as if I was doing him a disservice to take his course. Although I enjoyed the easy A, I couldn't help but think I got cheated out of an education.
I took his online class and while it is alot of writing, he seems to be very helpful in reguards of critiquing essays. procrastination not recomended or you will spend days on the computer typing up essays! textbook is in otline form
I took his online class, and he assigns 23 papers in a one month span. Very difficult to complete. I do not recommend taking his class, ever. Very difficult on grading essays.
I took his class (online) over summer. Its not a very hard class there is a total of 20 assignments one midterm and one final(which you do at home). If your going to procrastinate and whine then don't take his class, half of those assignments are 2 paragraph news articles and the other half are 2 page critiques. do the work get the A. its simple
Took online course over Fall semester. 4 essays, 10 news articles, and 10 history projects. A LOT OF WRITING, but by end of it I was a pro at writing 5 page essays. Good material covered. You need to not procrastinate and put effort into your work for the A.
I took online. I thought many assignments he gave us were busy work because i didn't actually learn anything from them. I mainly just learned from the 4 essays he assigned. If you procrastinate, DO NOT TAKE! It was too easy to not do any work until a week before 10 assignments were due. And it seemed like an inconvenience to him when I emailed him
easy class. not too much effort and got a B. hes not too clear and his book is more like an outline. work is easy, is a bit hard when grading papers. overall good teacher.
Its an online class - dont expect much. There is lots of work required but its easy. If u want an A on essays, submit your outline for feedback before starting your essay - u cant go wrong there. This is truly a class for the very very independent individual - you are on your own! If u finish the work, you should get an A.
by far the worst online class dont take it
Poor class to take online during winter session. I forgot to attach first 5 projects (my fault) but he wouldn't accept them for the second 5 projects and it dramatically effected my grade. No indication on why i only got a B on my last essay. Book is just a big lecture outline. Do not take this class if you are interested in learning history.
Dr. Reynolds- what a nice professor. Got an A!
I feel this professor was not very helpful. He was not very clear, and for an online teacher he needs to be a little nicer.
I am a 4.0 student who took this class online for the summer. I completed all of the work and submitted it early, however, he returned all of my work back to me and told me it was unacceptable because of some rules he shared w/ me in the e-mail that were NOT IN THE ONLINE SYLLABUS ANYWHERE. I had to redo all of my work. WORST TEACHER EVER!
Beware of his online classes. Gives no feedback and little to no instruction. He is very liberal in his viewpoints, any paper that you turn in to the contrary will get you an F or a Zero stating it is "not directly related"
dr reynolds is awesome!
Possibly the worst teacher I have had here. If you can take a 100pt test in 45min go for it. Even though its online it's a hard class. He doesn't make anything clear, just has you get the book and read it all. Waste of time and i love history.
Online class is very VERY easy: ten history projects, ten news articles and a website critique. With the tests, all you have to do is memorize the multiple choice answers that he provides in the book. Essay exams are easy as well, but don't expect an A on those. He also responded quickly to emails which was a plus.
He's great, just do work absolutely before deadline, no flexibility, does not care for excuses.Essays/tests directly from his book. follow his instructions, you will be just fine.
The projects were clearly laid out and easy to turn in early. If you turn them in early he can tell you if they are not accepted so you can re-do them. The timed tests are hard but come from the exact questions at the end of the chapters. The essay tests require the use of ALL material about the subject that's in the book. Good online class.
I took his US history class online, in the summer of 2009. There was a lot of work (projects, articles, tests, and essays) however it was somewhat easy. Beware, he probably does his whole class through his blackberry, so keep all the work he approves and make sure he approves them. Also, his syllabus is VERY ambiguous, make sure you ask questions!
he is easy if you do the work he assigns. all the questions are taken straight from the book. he is not hard.
horrible and rude professor. who seriously teaches a class via their blackberry?
Horrible teacher. Shouldn't be considered a teacher. 5 week online class- same curriculum as regular on campus class, same amount of useless projects. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!! Does not care about students.
Easiest class I have ever taken. I'm an AP student and people always tell me college is harder than AP classes. Hard to believe with classes like this. I barely had to work. I ended the class with a 97% and I BSed all of the homework. Easy A!
He's a useless old man who does nothing but try to fail students. his teaching methods are ridiculous. He should not teach anywhere ever.
A complete jerk***. This professor is the worst> I took an online summer class and turned everything in, on time. The final is 30% of the class, and i needed an A to pass the class with that grade. At first he graded my test as an "A" than two hours later he changed his mind and graded as a "B" omfg! extremely unprofessional. I hate that guy.
Teacher is not understanding in any way nor flexiable. He failed me just because I copied a few line form a site onlie to put on my essay and I did all the project plus the articles. Now I have to retake the class.
This professor is a complete jerk. The website you use is so hard to understand, and he doesnt ever tell you what your grade is, unless you ask him. His stupid articles and projects are useless and a waste of time. Everything is worth so much that you are screwed if you fail one thing. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!!! FIND A DIFFERENT TEACHER!!
History major. I got an F in his class. When I applied to graduate school I had to explain why I failed such a simple history class since it showed up on my records. I had straight A's otherwise. If you read this DOCTOR Reynolds, you need to clean up your act. I see you're still at your bull. Would have taken action against him if I had the time.
I took 241 Am. Hist. since 1865, at CSUN with him. Fantastic! His outline book is one of the greatest teaching tools and the essays requested are not a surprise. Just read and write. His historical knowledge is terrific, I wish my other history teachers were as knowledgeable!
I was terrified to take this teacher after these ratings, but it really wasn't a hard class. 10 Articles (1 paragraph each) 10 projects that he gives you exact templates to follow such as analyze historical photo, and 3 MC/Essay tests. Very helpful teacher and replies quickly. Easy as long as you read the book.
Has a very unclear and poorly worded syllabus. Will say that any work is "irrelevant" just because he disagrees with a political aspect of it (even if that work is DIRECTLY CITED from his textbook). Was very disrespectful towards a combat veteran in the class. If he insults you, contact the school immediatly, they are aware of this ongoing problem
Entertaining to listen to, but self-revealing to be an over-privileged, pretentious know-it-all. Written assignments are excessive (21 required - 30% of the grade), essays are difficult, tests cover material not discussed in class. A's are possible, but require a TON of effort - considering the fact that it's a 100-level JC course.
Tried to hard to make the material interesting but it just became a tedious chore. If you can't write a mind blowing essay don't expect a high grade.
WORST TEACHER EVER. His website is so confusing, and his assignments don't make sense. And btw he is the Department Chair so don't bother address the issues with the school!
This guy is the worst teacher ever! I had his online history class and i did all the work, all 10 projects, all 10 articles, passed his SLO test, did 2 of the essay tests and 2 of the multiple choice tests. Since i missed one essay test and one multiple choice test he failed me even though i had an A for everything else. Do not take this guy!
I took his online class over summer. It was a lot of writing, and more time consuming than expected. Go thru his website thoroughly on the 1st day, read everything posted. He tells you exactly what he wants, but he writes in the narrative form so if you skim, you'll miss something. Use the book, cite correctly...spew out the book and you get an A.
Ok so I took his summer 2011 online history 111 class and It was Super easy. All you HAVE to do is ALL the work. If you don't you WILL fail. I would take him for another class because I actually learned something in this class. Don't take it If Your lazy. There's a lot of reading but it college what do you expect.
Professor Reynolds spells it all out for you. He tells you what will be on the test. There's no excuse for ANYONE to get an A in his class. He's a great teacher and a helpful man.
Papers can be a challenge but tests are easy and there are a lot of easy ways to earn class points. If you do the work an A is no problem.
Professor Reynolds runs a community college class like an advanced history class at Harvard. He runs his tests through some other site that isnt blackboard and the site totally blows. It hardly works correctly yet the professor insists that it does. Many have confirmed the suck of his test site.
I took his online class and it was great! it is a lot of work, but is very doable, you just need to make sure you have a copy of his textbook or else the class will be impossible. If you do all the work and follow all of his directions you will definitely get an A!
I just recently signed up for his 112 class online and found his syllabus to be unclear and misleading about what exactly he wanted. The work load was way too high for a GE history class, I am taking 10 units this summer and did not have the time for that.
i took History 111 online during summer. The syllabus was unorganized and hard to follow. the whole class had so much work and was very hard. he was mean and rude and not helpful at all. not willing to work with you to accomadate you at all. i got good grades on all the papers and other assignments but still received a C in the class DO NOT TAKE!!!
I took his online class and he was a smartass when I him a question. I have never met him but I can assure you that I will never take his class again. He doesn't reply to emails either. This class was very difficult because it's a strictly online class and he doesn't clarify things. Do not take his class!!!!!!!
Took his class online for intersession. Class was pretty easy you have to do articles and projects. There are three tests which the questions are at the end of each chapter covered. Didnt need the other patriots book at all so don't buy it. Do the work and you'll do fine.
DO NOT TAKE HIS ONLINE CLASS!! There are 3 exams, all the questions are found in his textbook. He expects you to do 10 article reviews and 10 history projects. and 2 SLO quizzes. Plus a review of a website. Dont forget to do that or else he will drop your grade down by one letter. Dont try to take his class in 5 weeks. So overrated
DONOTTAKEONLINECLASS!!!requires 10 articles&projects website review&quiz weekly. Will not accept your work, will say it had no relation to the topic then accept it later the same day then next turn in date say he never received it!! text required is no help!Timed tests 100 question in 60mins! Computer Freezes Too Bad!! Do Not Recommend!!
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!! He was extremely vague, and not helpful. When my internet connection failed during a quiz he did not allow me to retake the test, and it caused me to fail. I would not want to meet him in person, and I strongly advise taking a different professor's class.
The class requires a bit of work, but is easy. Do the work, study the questions at the end of the chapters in his book and the tests will be easy. You get out what you put in.
The online version of history 112 was a very easy class. He is super organized and let's you know what is expected from you up front. His instructions for all the assignments are very clear. The class takes a little bit of time to research and complete the assignments, but if you do the work its really easy.
Its true he wont accept your work saying that "it isn't topic related" even if you explain to him why you thought it was! he runs his class on a separate site which makes working ten times harder and he doesn't care about his students at all! DONT TAKE HIS CLASS! He's the worst teacher I've ever come across! unhelpful and I didn't learn squat!
It was an easy class; there was a lot of busy work, but he let us know what was due and when before the class started. The exams are easy and most of them are the exact same questions at the end of each chapter. So get the textbook and it will help with the exams. My time was spent researching articles and projects that "covered a major topic."
this class is a waste of time and he is dumb as rocks. he is proof that just because you have a doctorate, it does NOT mean you are smart. if you want to learn something take another teacher. he is late to return emails, he is vague and plain rude at times.
He is vague, unhelpful, and seemingly uninterested in his students. The course isn't too terrible because it is a 5 week Winter Intersession, but I would strongly recommend searching for a different professor. It is dull and monotonous most of the time, and the professor is hard to satisfy in terms of research for assignment content.
He does not care about his students. Rejects assignments when they relate to the topics they are supposed to. Is extremely rude, unhelpful, and vague in his descriptions. There's also very little chance that he reads the assignments, as he has responded and rejected assignments within 1 minute of being sent. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS
First of all, yes he is a harsh grader & he will reject assignments that do not correlate to history even if they do. Thing is, you must make sure you pay attention. This class is rigorous, (duh its 5 weeks). But if you work hard, keep on top of assignments, you'll get a good grade. I did (:
5wk online = easy, but LOT of work. He's clear and emails back quick. 95% of test questions are from the mult choice in the book - make flashcards! Google the rest at test time. Forget the Patriots book unless you love to read history (it's actually a good read). Save time/stress by the doing projects BEFORE class starts - Google his syllabus.
Listen, you need to be a responsible student to take his class. His test come straight out of his textbook, he only has simple assignments turned in once a week and there is clarity. Some of my projects and articles were rejected but because I did everything else and studied, I got a B in the class. You need to be an adult to take this class.
Took this 8wk online course over the summer. Lots of work but not difficult. Time management is the key. Test questions literally come straight out of review q's in the textbook, don't even need to read the rest of it. Get things done early though because he might reject your work and you'll have to redo it.
Worse professor ever he tends to reject a lot of work that has to do with the subject, extremely rude. I wouldn't recommend this online class to anyone you have to do articles that relate to his time period and currently publish during your class duration plus those articles are hard to find. Do not take this class.
I never had an issue with him rejecting any of my news articles. In fact, I missed 1 and he emailed me prior to the course ending that if I had it in could email it to him for credit. I took it during the summer and the assignments were manageable. I would definitely take him again.
I'm a straight AB student in all my classes. This prof is the most difficult that I have had the displeasure of dealing with. Don't ask him questions about the syllabus because apparently it makes perfect sense. He doesn't grade assignments based on a 0-100 point basis but will fail you based off opinion and for missing the smallest of things.
Reynolds was an okay teacher if you look on quiz let, all of the tests are on there which will help you greatly. His online class isn't too mad if you look up the answers on quiz let just type in his name and they should come up!
Took the class online and it was no problem; I don't know what all the complaints are about. Be sure to stay within the parameters for projects and articles. Also be sure to review the chapter questions prior to taking the tests. It is timed; you will not be able to look up every answer on the spot.
He's a great teacher but a tough grader. You need to listen to everything he says and you should be fine.
He was not helpful and gave lots of busy work as if we need more work!
Worst teacher ever! offers no help when asked just says to reread the syllabus which is confusing as heck. I get As and Bs and can usually deal with a challenging teacher. What he does is not teaching. He seems like a very lazy teacher, I have never had a teacher try not to help! He even requires his own textbook, seems like he only cares about $
All information is on his weebly website and if you have questions just email to ask him. He sometimes takes a while to respond but just do your work and he will let you know if it is accepted or not. Super easy if you do all your work and turn it in on time. Get the textbook he writes. Section of multiple choice are all the test Q and As.
Absolutely no assistance. Did not answer any question I emailed to him. Did not accept more than half of my assignments and I have yet to understand or learn why since he has not emailed me back.
I took Professor Reynolds both history classes he offered online during this past summer. The syllabus that is found on his website is clear cut; however, you must be on top of assignments or else you will drown in a last minute time crunch. Yes, he will reject some things, but you will see what he expects as the class goes on. Thanks Professor :)
I enjoyed him. Just stay on top of your assignments. I received a B, but if I did was on top of things I would have received an A. He was very helpful and always responded to my emails. Thanks Prof.
Fairly easy course but he is extremely unreasonable with article sources and criteria. He makes the course miserable and his textbook has various spelling errors.
I have no idea why people are complaining on here, he tells you straight forward what he wants and he had it all scheduled out for you. turn your work in on time and not worry about it. if you can follow directions his class is simple and he is a good teacher
This was a tough class, but its history, so there are many ways to find the answers yourself. Reynolds has high expectations for his students, but once you figure out the types of things he wants in your assignments, you're pretty good for the rest of them. He isn't the most clear but he does respond to emails quickly. All work is submitted emails
This teacher is a huge D0uche. This guys has a superiority complex and will make sure you know he's above you. He'll make you do a bunch of work then will tll you that he won't accept it. His syllabus does not explain the material of the course clearly and this makes it incredibly hard to do anything pertaining to this class.
Assigns 2 projects a week and 2 article reviews a week. First test was 100 questions long and he only gave us 60 minutes to complete it. super hard.
Do not recommend him. Took the class over the summer and it was a waste of time. Had 2 projects and 2 articles due every week. He never accepted the articles because they were "current events" or not related to the time period. Also, he only gave us 60 minutes to complete a 100 question test. Seriously ruined my GPA.
Yes, there are 2 projects and 2 news articles due every week. Yes, there are 100-question tests that need to be done in 60 minutes. However, once I figured out what Reynolds wanted, the class became much easier afterwards. He responds to emails quickly, his tests are directly out of his textbook. It's not that bad; just do the work on time.
Took the class online my sophomore year of high school over the summer. Requires effort, but worth it in the end when you get the GPA boost from a college course. If you buy his textbook, it has all the TEST ANSWERS. There is NO WAY you should not be able to receive an A in this class. He is very helpful via email. SO GLAD that I took this class.
I took HIST 112 over the summer with Professor Reynolds. The projects and article writing weren't difficult, I just had to apply myself when doing them. What Professor Reynolds expects from your articles and projects is that you're actually engaged in the history you're writing about. Expect to be challenged. This is college, right?
His syllabus is ver confusing and what he asks from you as well. So I emailed him and asked him for help and he told me to READ THE SYLLABUS AGAIN! like seriously? there are two articles and two projects each week and its very very VERY confusing and HARD! he also wrote the book for history and all the test question are coming from there, so thats+
Absolutely awesome. Clear, direct, and structures the class so you can do well. I have no idea what other people had a problem with, but unless you are a moron the class is totally do-able. Syllabus is clear, but you must read it carefully not skim over it. He answered my questions quickly and was always helpful. I would take him again.
He seems to enjoy making the class impossible and watching students struggle. Why do people who don't like students choose teaching as a career????
Lots of reading for this class. All you have to study is the multiple choice at the end of each chapter because he uses the exact questions. Not a difficult class if you know this but when you slightly mess up a project he will not accept. Not a good teacher.
There were 2 AOW's a week with 2 projects a week that he provided examples of but they included book reviews, historical movie reviews, and some other stuff. He has his own written textbook so he uses the tests from there (3 in total) for the test online. You were to read a lot and pretty much teach yourself. Everything turned in through email.
Really hard especially online. A lot of lectures on the blackboard and a lot of reading. Quizzes and tests based off of 2 books so you really need to study.
I don't like him. Grades harshly and articles are time consuming and hard. He also returned my article multiple times giving me the same feedback but never accepted them. It was really hard looking for articles. DONT CHOOSE HIM. I GOT a C.
I think he was a very decent teacher and I dont understand the negative reviews. If you have him online, it is a piece of cake as long as you understand what hes looking for (everything is on his syllabus). The five week course is easier than most normal high school course bc of how straightforward it is. 95% of MC questions are in his textbook.
This was a very easy online class and is a very easy A. Some people may complain about the articles. The articles were not difficult; all you had to do was go to CNN or another major news outlet and check the politics section (something was always there). The tests were easy and the majority of the questions came from his textbook. I recommend.
The articles can be time consuming. The online class is just repetition of writing a few paragraphs about either news articles or reviewing things like photos for projects. The tests are straight out of the quizzes at the end of each section. Did I learn anything about U.S. history? No. Was this class easy? You just have to stay on top the work.
States clearly what he wants -- just study the questions at the end of his book's chapters. Yes, the "assignments" are tedious but compared to the other online history classes the workload is minimal. Manage your time: do the assignments early so that you don't feel burdened on Friday. Took this for high school credit and it was so worth it.
Idk what everyone is complaining about because its a pretty straight forward class! Yes you have to do work, but honestly its not that crazy. 4 assignments per week & 3 multiple choice exams that are the chapter questions from his book! Just study and do the work! He is very responsive also so you ask questions if you need help!
do NOT waste your time taking this class. Prof wrote his own textbook with the test answers so that students who take the class are forced to spend over $100 to pass. This man is a fraud and wont accept work that doesn't reach his standard of excellence. This class has been nothing but stress and anger over the 5 week period. DO NOT TAKE IT
For an online class it was very unorganized. Great professor, the topics and discussions were very interesting but there was multiple assignments due on the same day without clear direction. There was instructions on how to do them but way too messy and all over the place to understand what he was trying to say. Wouldn't take it again honestly.
Very frustrating when it comes to turning in articles. He would deny almost every article I turned because it doesn't fit his super strict criteria. He would not take my article just because it said "published 2 days ago" and not A REAL DATE. He said that he couldn't "verify what 2 days refers to." Overall, he's super picky and annoying.
This was the hardest online class and I am a history major. Not because of the subject but because his online class is unorganized and loaded with work that he doesn't teach. He gives a prompt and you figure it out yourself. Doesn't respond back quickly and if he does, no enthusiasm and short. There are large amounts of work to do everyday.
His short term class was easy tbh. He is not very helpful and contradicted himself a couple of times. Hes not very clear or helpful when you ask him questions. It was partially my fault for getting an F. He failed to provide updated grade on his online class.
The online class wasn't awful. LOTS of busy work, you had two long articles and 2 projects due weeky. It was just time consuming. But the tests are easy. 95% of the MC questions are out of his textbook which I just rented on Chegg. If you just do the work you will be fine (tip: write the MCs on a google doc, easier to find during the test, easy A)
The class itself is easy to get an A if you spend the entire first day of the week on doing his assignments because he leaves very specific feedback. And his system is very flawed so don't expect for him to be reasonable with you. Plus whenever you email him for clarifications he makes his responses very confusing and he always has a bad tone.
This teacher was as helpful as a rock. He did not teach, grade, or give valuable advice. The most extensive response to my emails was criticisms for "it should be fine". He also scams the kids by advising you to buy his textbook that he wrote. In actuality, I did not use that textbook once. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!
He was literally a glorified teaching assistant. He didn't even teach, all he did was assign you 2 projects and 2 articles to do every week and I could swear he didn't even read them. It would take forever for an assignment to be accepted bc he would send irrelevant follow up questions most of the time and took at least 48 hours to respond.
My man B. Rad has a way with words. He is an established author and shares his work w/ the class. The way he describes the context surrounding the Cold War is nothing less than an artistic masterpiece. I originally thought of history as "lame" and "uncool" like the moronic child that I used to be. B. Rad changed me. Will take 112 many more times.
Dropped his class 2 weeks in due to the difficulty of working with him. He expects you to email papers and articles to him directly instead of submitting on canvas which makes its harder to keep track of. He also expects 2 reports and 2 projects every Friday. Hard to get ahold of. Gave me a hard time, requires expensive book he wrote.
Has a lot of reading and homework assignments. Mainly current event articles that relate to history which weren't too bad. I hated the projects. I took a short term class and thought the workload wasn't reasonable. Everything is turned in through email instead of canvas. Multiple choice exams were easy as long as you did the reading.
Not only do you need to do 2 projects/articles every friday, but you need to email them to turn in. Unless he replies to you specifically saying its good it doesnt matter. I turned in my project 3 days early, he didnt reply back until after the due date saying it wasnt correct and that i now receive a 0 since i now couldnt fix it in time to turn in
Horrible.
Professor Reynolds makes you purchase his $100 usd textbook from the coc book store. You can not find the newest edition anywhere else online and is required to study for and pass tests. He also is vague on his directions, but leaves his grading as "if it is done incorrectly ill send it back for you to re-do. He is only in it for our money!
The most frustrating class I have ever taken. First of he does not use canvas for assignments everything is sent through email. He is an absolute nightmare, he will keep saying your articles does not relate to "the class material/ timeline" when you literaly take the prompt directly from the textbook that he forces us to buy. test 100 for 60mins...
When the projects were first due, I wanted to discuss the grade he gave me (A movie review) an F because I first saw the movie in an English class in high school. Saying that I was plagiarizing my project, even though it was for the book, not the movie. I should be using my education for new info, not old work. Felt so insulted! Not recommend!!!
He isn't terrible, but he is picky with assignments and he often confuses me, his directions tend to be vague and he can be untruthful in his own rules, such as claiming to always respond to emails within 48 hours when he sometimes does not.
first class I have ever dropped. not only were assignment instructions confusing, but feedback was vague and hard to answer/understand what was wanted. canvas was strictly ONLY used for assignment instructions and had to submit everything by email. because of this I had no idea what my grade was. dropped the class for the sake of my sanity. 0/10.
I took this professor over a 5-week summer class. This professor is infuriatingly complex. All of the assignments are required to be submitted via email, and many of the instructions are either contradictory, confusing, or tedious. This professor is not worth your time or stress.
no matter how badly u need to finish this class, put it off to next semester, b rad is actually garbage and i spend like 3x as much time than my friends who take this class with a diff professor
This teacher is all or nothing. If he doesn't think your work is thorough enough you get zero credit for effort. Try to get a different teacher!
This guy has a particular desire to make his class as difficult to understand as possible. The instructions are all over the place, and submitting assignments by email is a violation of the geneva convention of 1949. The assignments aren't that bad, but submitting them and understanding what grade you have is kinda tough. I don't recommend at all.
This class was a rollercoaster - confusing assignments, vague feedback, and an unresponsive professor. Luckily, I found Unstuck ai to be a huge help with study prep, along with the free textbook.
The worst professor I've ever had. Unclear instructions, horrible grading, and typos are just the tip of the iceberg. Very confusing on what he wants and has the audacity to not grade assignments till the end of the semester and call it "karma" for failing me. Never had issues with any other classes except this one. Who let this guy be a professor?
He refuses to use the Canvas progress system so you won't know what your grade is until after the final exam. He requires all assignments to be emailed to him and he will nitpick about specific dates, minor infractions and require you to re-submit your work resulting in a late penalty. His interaction with the class is nearly non-existent.
