Made me love English. Such a sweet guy and tries so hard to make everyone understand and succeed in his class. Lots of essays, but made super easy thanks to his great instruction. The kind of professor you can go back to and talk about anything with. Such a great guy so glad I took English with him!!

Great teacher. Attended his class everyday, did all the essay's and in-class work and got a B. We only had 6 essay's (Last 3 counted most) Overall very satisfied with him. VERY HELPFUL!! Direct, clear, and not a boring class. Take him!

The best professor I have taken so far at Pierce! He is very helpful and his class entertaining. A down to earth English teacher who relates to his class. Let me start with this: he is so handsome that it makes you write better paper automatically! Why aren't all teachers like that?! All is true what others say- clear, fun but you still have to work. Gives great directions and helpful feedback. The topics are always relevant! Take him!

Prof Saenz is one of the best English professors at Pierce. He makes the course easy and fun. You have to read the stories that he assigns because you will be quizzed on them, but the stories are about 5 to 10 pages long. He doesn't grade too harshly on the essays but you do have to spend a good amount of time on them. Take him he's awesome :)

He's pretty cool. He likes to talk a lot. He a hard grader when it comes to film adaptation essays. Overall, he's a good instructor.

Jesus, he's a great professor.. but a majority of his lectures are so fricken boring.. I want to leave the class and go home but he won't stop teaching the floor because 70% of his students are asleep..

I love Mr. Saenz! I have to say though he is really handsome which made me distracted by his attractiveness sometimes. I took him for English 28 and got an A but it did take a good amount of effort. I definitely recommend him if you take English 28, 101, or 102.

He is not one of those English teachers who comes to class and talks about whatever comes to his mind about the topics discussed (nor will he read the book to you). There is A LOT of reading that you have to do at home and class is all analyzation of it. 3 in class essays and 2 take homes. He's picky on certain things and others not so much.

i took hin this winter and hes very clear on what he'll gade on and is there for students, defenitly recomended and one bonus is that the reading material isnt boring! plus he may be older but my gawd i swear i wanted to jump his bones! thank fully i sat by the back and near a door incase i did something stupid. to bad he was off limits :

He is one of my favorite professors at Pierce college. I've taken him for English 21. 28, and 101. He assigns a lot of paragraph short essay assignments, no tests. His lectures are very amusing and relatable. His assignment directions are always very clear and understandable. He returns emails quickly and is a very reasonable grader.

He is a great professor. This class is no easy A. He grades really hard on the essays, so you need to spend a lot of time on them. He also gives good and detailed essay feedback. You will have a great time in his class. If you're not good at English and want to get an easy A, this is not the one. He also assigns reading, but it isn't boring at all.

I finished his 101 class this semester with a B. I have become a better essay writer thanks to him! He was truly the best professor I ever had. Too bad he most likely isn't teaching 102 next Fall, otherwise I'd take him again. This class is not easy, but he is pretty clear on how to write an essay. I highly recommend him! There is a lot of reading and analyzing in his 102 class. He assigned 6 essays and the last 3 were counted more toward the end. He grades really tough on the essays but he is extremely helpful if you go to his office hours. I took him for 102 and got a B. This class is not an easy A by any means. Also not to mention but he's so gorgeous!

Brad is an amazing professor!! Although he's a tough grader, he's very clear with his grading and how he wants his assignments turned in. He has a great sense of humor and is very pro-student! Don't hesitate to talk to him for help, he's very easy to talk to and approach! Would take again! :)

Professor Saenz is a very kind and insightful professor. He enjoys teaching and his lectures were wonderful. The difference between him and other English professors is that you will truly enjoy working in his class.

AWESOME PROF!! Took his 102 class this winter and not being an English or Literature fan he made a boring class so fun. He jokes, laughs with you, and empathizes with the pain of being a student and writing essays. Super clear on exactly how to go about the assignments and picks interesting material. Fair grader. Wish I had him for 101. TAKE HIM!!

This guy is really straight-forward and easy to pass if you do his work. He's very funny, sensible and respects all his students. He gives you great input on your assignments and will overall make you like English as a medium

Brad is a wonderful professor. I took him for ENG28 during the fall and later for 101 over winter. 101 was obviously the harder class but despite it being taught over a 5wk course, I learned so much! Great lectures and lots of help.. He's pro-student and offers some extra credit throughout semester. Tough grader but you get what you give!

I honestly believe he is the best English teacher I've ever had in my life. I never gotten a professor who actually guides you step-by-step and thoroughly how to write an A worthy essay. He will sit with you and discuss how you can improve your draft essay before you turn it in. Take this class and you'll be thankful!!

This professor is amazing! He really helped me improve my essay writing skills when I went to his office hours. This is class is not easy but definitely worth taking him. Not that much homework assigned but grades really hard on the essays. Go to his office hours and he'll tell you what to take out of your essay, etc.

Prof. Saenz was a great professor. We only had a total of five papers throughout the semester, not that much homework either. His class isn't very easy to get an A, but pretty easy to get a B. He devotes time in his office to help you on your essay if you're struggling. I wish I could he had a 102 class for Fall, but he doesn't. :(

I took Prof Saenz for this summer session A. Saenz is very helpful to everyone in the class. When he explains an assignment it sounds harder than it really is. His class is not an easy A, but its not extremely difficult. Just Challenging.

Professor Saenz makes the class fun! He is not an easy grader, but he does provide a lot of feedback and makes himself available during office hours to help students. I really feel my writing and critical thinking have improved as a result of taking his class.

He is a great professor! I took him for Eng 28 and 101. I like his personality, he makes the class laugh and always tries to make the class interesting. He cares about his students and you can always go to his office hours for help. Also, The book is mandatory. As long as you try your best on the essays, you should be able to get a good grade.

Very nice professor. Gives good feedback on essays, there is a novel on which he quizzes you. There were only five essays (at home) and one in class final essay. He was indeed one of the best English teachers I have had. Other than that he is in his office is also available via email, and will help you out on whatever you may need help on.

Hes a really good teacher. Show up for class, do the work and you will pass with a B+ no problem. He doesn't assign a "ton" of work, but there is some. He gives really good feedback on assignments and hes very straight forward when it comes to grading.

awesome teacher I learned a lot from him and he prepares you and teaches you techniques that you can use a lot in the future and other classes. Hes a tough grader but If you go to his office hours he will work with you to improve your essay you have to work hard to get an A but he makes class funny and interesting.

Pretty easy A if you're well prepared in English. He makes everything super simple and untangles our complicated minds. If you struggle in English, he helps you out a lot & is easily accessible outside class. He's pretty funny too, all the essays are actually pretty fun to write. His approach shows that he's on your side and wants you to pass.

Professor Saenz has a love and passion for teaching. His class challenged my writing, and definitely helped me grow in English. If you're looking for a class just for an easy pass I would suggest a different professor, but if you're looking to learn more and to strengthen your writing you will definitely enjoy his class.

Professor Saenz is an amazing professor. I highly recommend him for anyone who is choosing a teacher for an English class . He explains the homework and essays and how to get a good grade on them. You should be able to pass if you listen to his lectures.

Grades on five essays and a few classwork assignments. Great teacher, has great lectures and understands students and their struggles more than any other instructor at Pierce. Willing to help on essays and provides great feedback on all assignments. Even takes his time to walk you through the first four or so essays.

He is very kind -gives students second chances -gives extra credit opportunities -doesn't believe in in-class essays (all essays and papers including the midterm and the final are take home) -is patient -explains the material clearly with many resources -repeats concepts over time to be certain everyone understands the material.

Lot's of discussions as a class, which is very helpful. Great professor, you can tell he really loves what he does. He thoroughly explains assignments, guides the class through the writing process of essays, and tells you what you need to do to get an A on the essay. I had an great time in this class!

Professor Saenz is the best English teacher or even just teacher in general. He cares about his students so much, hes the advisor for the Student Rights and Resources Organization. If you want someone who has a clear grading structure, gives great feedback, and breaks writing any essay down into an easy to replicate formula, you NEED this class.

ABSOLUTELY the best English professor I have ever taken. He's extremely funny and is so fun to take. I've been taken two of his classes and have love each one. Doesn't have any tests only a few quizzes that are extremely easy. Doesn't assign daily homework either only a few homework assignments (also easy). Overall, highly recommend his classes.

He is easy going, organized, and hilarious. He puts no length requirement in his essays but he does not want you to do bear minimum and wants you to be thorough. Most of his essays are free choice topics and there is not too much reading. He types up his lectures on word and uploads them on canvas. His class was a lot of fun overall.

He really cares about his students and it shows. Took him for both 101 and 103 and I would take him for more classes if it was my major. He is really all about teaching and he does everything he can to help you learn and get a good grade.

Best professor for eng102. 3 essays each worth 25% of total grade final is worth 10% and quizzes/hw worth 15%. He really does care and try to help you succeed. Helped me become a better writer and very clear on what he expects from the paper. Reading material pretty much all online or on canvas. Chill professor, doesnt judge ur paper for your ideas

Seriously a great professor, his course was so interesting and exactly what I would want to do if I were a professor. My only complaint was how tiny his course was. I did take a shorter class but the course work was so low that my grade was heavily impacted. I still recommend but take note of this. Also he got promoted half way in the course.

He does his 8-week courses perfectly, they're never too much and the readings are always interesting. His feedback is amazing and his rubrics are always clear. Very cool professor, amazing for English 101 and 102.

I don't know what to say to describe him. He is the BEST without a doubt. He is patient, calm, caring, helper English teacher. I promise you will not regret taking his course. It will be so much fun and even if you go wrong with something for your assignments, he will always help you and give you the opportunity to fix your works and re-grade it.

Saenz is S+ TIER. Believe all of the other reviews. 100% recommend. Chillest Eng prof ever. All assignments are credit/no credit; impossible to fail unless you don't try at all. Pure learning. You actually learn to write essays in a low stakes environment. His Canvas page is unique. Its based on video games (souls, mario, zelda, resident evil).

Perhaps the best professor I have ever taken. Cuts to the chase, is on heavy no-nonsense, teaches you English but doesn't overwhelm you on the workload at all. That's what college is missing I feel like, teachers that actually know how to teach without overworking you. Professor Saenz has taught me so much about English while not overworking me.
