One of the best teachers I have ever had at PCC. Very clear and good in making things simple to the students. Kind of hard in grading, but still if you really try working thoughtfully in your essays you will probably get an A.

Good Professor, with a fairly open mind about things. Covers basic english content....essays so on in the 1A class. You will learn a great deal more, as hes does his best to incorporate interesting topics to hold your attention. Funny guy also!!!

This teacher is pretty cool. English isn't my subject, but I got a B in his class. I only went to English 1000x class like....5 times out of 16 weeks. He's a pretty funny guy. For anyone who doesn't like reading..take this teacher. No reading in his clas

Not a lot of reading. Keeps the class interseting by writing and talking about pop culture. Didn't grade too hard but you have to keep to the EXACT format of writing he teaches you or you will pay for it in your grade. Keep good notes.

At first thought he was too harsh on grading but then you get used to it. Have to use his formats but does keep class interesting with Pop Culture topics.

Brad is way cool!Hardly any reading, and the lectures aren't boring,but there are 6 essays.He shows EXACTLY how to write them though,he is very clear.Just show up to class,talk alot,be noticed.He seems to enjoy students ideas and always really listens to what everyone has to say.Kinda cute too!

To be honest the class is below my level (I'm not being arrogant, the school won't accept my AP credit to clear my prerequisite), but he's really a great teacher for people who need to take this class. Besides if you don't like his teaching he's still way way way way HOTTTTTTTTT!

Brad is genuinely interested in teaching and is good at it. He makes it fun with his sarcastic humor and goofy (but cute) personality. Other profs should take lessons from him on teaching style.

Yeah he's cute, not my type... kinda scrawny. But appearance shouldn't be the issue right? He's very clear about what he looks for in your writing. Discussion very stimulating. Make sure and turn in work that has been proofread.

He's an easy grader if you just develop your essay and follow his essay format. That's all. Discussions on pop culture are a plus. Just put some effort and it'll pay off in your final grade.

Very good at teaching english. He breaks everything down for you and isn't cheap with printouts. He keeps class interesting and is very fair in his assignments and grading.

Excellent teacher. I enjoyed his class. He gives positive feedback on your papers. It was alot of writing but I learned quite a bit. It was a fun class. I also liked the fact that while discussing argumentation and it got political, he stayed neutral. Excellent job, Brad!!

Saenz is the best English prof in PCC. He teaches u how to make a paper, gives u helpful comments on ur paper, he even proofreads some part of ur essay if u email it to him EARLY! Just make the paper like he teaches u, and u'll be fine.There is very little reading assignment. Take him, highly recommended!!!

He is good at teaching how to write, but he is a hard grader. Take him if you want to learn how to wright, I bet it will benefit you for the rest of your college life.

He is a great teacher! Very interesting I don't take night classes usually but he kept me awake. Not boring writting assignments and grades fairly. English is not my best subject but I got the grade I deserved. So do ur best and u will do well.

Beware: Same bad student with a grudge keeps leaving negative feedback. Grow up and move on with your life. While you're at it, look up the rater guidelines. You're ruining the purpose of the site.

Clas interesting and fun but people drop because it's sumer..don't take unless your ready to write.

I was a little unsure at first, seem to be a hard grader, but once you understand how he grades, it's easy. Maybe to many essays, but not that hard. Just pay attention and don't miss!!!!!!

The writing assignments are interesting and instructions are usually clear. Sometimes class is too much discusion (participation is part of grtade.) Recommended.

His a great professor very clear and very helpful. The class is not easy, he challenges you to think diffrently. For those students who wrote the nasty stuff... you probably didn't try hard enought to pass. You're grade is a reflection of you not the professor. I had an awful professor last semester and got an A.

Easy!! He gives a guideline for everything. All you have to do is follow it and get a high grade. Everything is hand fed to you, it's ridiculous. All the materials is discussed in class, you have to be sleeping or absent to fail. All you need is an opinion and his worksheets to get an A.

My favorite teacher so far at PCC. We had the most interesting discussions, which was because the class participated. He is not the easiest teacher but he will definately help you become a better writer.

He's great. I am so glad I didn't read these other comments before I took his class, as I probably would've missed out on an awesome teacher. He's young, cool and super smart. He absolutely cares about his students and wants to see them progress. The only thing he doesn't have time for are lazy people who don't put forth effort.

If you work hard in his class, you will do well. He is more than willing to help, and will read your essays ahead of time and give you feedback on what needs to be changed before you turn it in. Also, he is really really cute. :)

A great teacher. Their is barly any homework. You write all your essays in class. Very easy to get a B in the class but very had to get an A. No essay is over 5 pages so they are all short.

Mr. Saenz, is a great teacher. Not to mention he is HOT. He knows how to have fun with his class. Be prepared to work. He will not let you slack off. You must earn your grade. He teaches the material well and thoroughly. I've had AP eng teachers who were much harder than him in hs. People who complain about him now will think differently once they see how challenging English can be after transferring to a university.

Class consists of in class essays, two research papers, and quizes. Some discussions and group work, and some lecture. Balances well. Great teacher, funny and very approachable. Walks you through the essays, but still leaves room to be creative. Very nice, very easy, GREAT CLASS.

You must pay attention in his class. If you do you will learn and have fun. He is dynamic and charming, but mostly very commited to teaching and truly cares about the subject. He is a perfectionist, but don't let it frustrate you-instead use it to help set the bar higher for yourself.

A fun teacher who had a well balanced syllabus. Had guidelines for what to write but still left room for students to be creative. Great class!

When I took his class in spring 04 Mr. Saenz had a very effective approach to teaching the elements of a successful essay, allowing us to make mistakes then correcting us to set us on the right path. What more can you ask for? He always corrected our papers with helpful comments on where we went wrong and gave vivid examples in class. He Cares.

Just do the essays and you'll do fine. Prof. Saenz teaches what you need to know in order to write great essays for non-English classes. he has a good sense of humor and gave enjoyable lectures.

I took his class back in 2003 and after 4 years in college he still remains my favorite teacher. Very inspiring. I got an A.

His lectures are somewhat long and not at all interesting. He encourages participation from the class but when you give your opinion he seem to always find something wrong with your analysis. The reading material was horrible and boring. He was just ok, would never consider him for another english class.

Alright, going to love or hate the class,because of how the teacher acts. Every class always seemed like a group discussion all the time(KEY POINT).If you like to participate then go with it if you rather not the class will annoy you and you will dislike it.Readings are tedious. Everything based on essays. Essay prompts weren't great. For 1B- yes.

Mr. Saenz is by far the best professor that I have had. The assignments were a breeze and he gave helpful feed back when necessary. I took English 1A and English 1B with Mr. Saenz and I got B. He is also very gorgeous :)

He's a really good instructor, easy assignments but you still learn a lot. He gives helpful feedback on papers so you know what to work on and I always found his lectures really entertaining. Plus it doesn't hurt that he's a total hottie...

Saenz is a great teacher. Assignments consists of reading several literary works and writing 5 essays. Essays may be challenging, but he explains everything you need in your paper for a good grade. Also, he leaves detailed feedback on your papers telling you how you can improve your writing. The best part is that he's very nice and laid back.

Professor Saenz is a good teacher. If you do your work, there shouldnt be any problems. I recommend taking his class.

Hes a pretty decent teacher, he could be a bit unclear sometimes, make sure to ask questions, I did learn a few things here and there. He does leave constructive criticism and is a tough grader, but it's for your own benefit...and He's quite adorable and geeky!

He is very serious about the organization of essays and your analysis. He is pretty funny. If you can write decent essays, take his class. You can get an A if you actually spend more than an hour writing the essays.

i took his class during the summer time and it was non-stop. lots of reading and writing but it is a english class. UR grade will go down if u summarize too much so watch out.

Best English professor I have taken so far at PCC. If you're good at essays this will be an easy A. If you struggle you'll have to work a bit for an A, but he is very helpful. He proofreads as is very clear on exactly what he wants per essay. Take him, you won't regret it.

Great teacher. Very kind and helpful. Grades papers very generously, or lightly I should say. Specific assignment instructions quite vague most of the time; so ask questions. Great choices in literature and "theme." Very great teaching method. Stimulating and thorough. Do your reading and writing and you should at least get a C or B.

Saenz is really easy going and funny and a good essay grader. The grading is mostly leniant but you still have to proofread and meet ALL essay requirements for an 'A', which aren't hard anyways. Longest essay was 5 pages. If you're looking for a class with a lighter load take this one.

essays are everything in this class, the grading system is not complicated so you always know where you stand. he usually tells you exactly what he expects so you can do well on the papers. definitely take this prof

Challenging course, essay writing is pretty much the whole bag on the grade, but you can REALLY help yourself by doing well on the homework and participating in the class verbally, even a little bit every day. He is by far the best Eng1B instructor, take summer class- short & easy version of difficult class due to all the writing required

Great great teacher. I really enjoyed his class. The in-class essays were okay because he would give you the prompt the day before, so you can brainstorm and write an outline. Just do your essays well, and you will definitely get a good grade :)

He lays out the work in a concise manner and as long as you attend, participate, and put effort into your essays, you'll definitely pass. Funny and great personality! Great analytical discussions on the literary work. The class was interesting, the reading material was enjoyable, and he is an awesome lecturer.

Great teacher. Took him for Eng 100. Easy discussions on current events. Very possible to get an A in class if you do all the readings and participate in class discussions. Essays were on great topics.

He's chill. Very straight forward. Tells you what he's looking for. There are 3 in-class essays and 2 papers. Reading quizzes can be bad if you don't read. Prepare ahead of time for in-class essays. Easy breezy. I recommend.

One of the best professors I have ever had. He makes every lecture interesting, and makes students feel comfortable enough to share thoughts during discussions. Extremely clear guidelines, and very interesting texts. If you are not majoring in English you might consider taking this class. As long as you follow his guidelines you will pass.

Extremely clear on what he wants written in essays, as long as you follow what he asks for easy pass. And make sure you actually read books he gives quizzes. Participation in class is mandatory.

I actually took him at Pierce this semester, but he wasn't listed under professors there. I really enjoyed his class! He's pretty animated when he speaks and makes boring subjects interesting and amusing with dumb jokes and his overall personality. It was an easy class, and he explains everything well, too. Good teacher!

He is the GREATEST professor ever. By far my most favorite professor at pcc. He makes the class enjoyable, and is friendly with his students. He is not stuck up like the rest of the English department. TRUST ME he is the best!! when he turns back your essay he writes a page worth of comments about how you can improve. TAKE HIM. Take his class! A smart and fun teacher makes class time interesting and enjoyable. Easy to communicate with. If you put your effort and listen to what he says you'll pass. 2 research papers (5+pages) 3 in class papers and lots of reading and quizzes. Attendance a must. Best teacher at PCC so far!

Best English professor I've ever taken, bar none. You will learn in his class, he tries to get everyone involved, and will explain things to every last detail. The only way you can not pass this class is if you are a real lazy person and don't like to read at all. This isn't an easy A, it's a class that asks for your effort.

He's super helpful. Actually very straightforward. Tells the class what he expects and provides examples. A few in-class essays, a few take home essays, weekly reading quizzes. You know, school work. Ha. He's super chill, so take him.

Really cool teacher, took him for Intro to Science Fiction at COC. Nerdy and awesome, loves sci-fic and Batman. You'll do fine if you do the reading assignments, he gives a lot of reading quizzes on them. You can tell he's really into what he's teaching and a nerd at heart, which is what you want with a Sci-fic course. It was a lot of fun

Professor Saenz is definitely one of the best teachers at Pierce College. He is very interesting (which is rare at Pierce), and he knows how to relate and lecture to students. He grades fair and helps you with your writing, and the topics are interesting as well. Grades are based on essays, with beginning ones worth less than the end. Great class!

Brad is amazing, super helpful, HILARIOUS, soooo down to earth and really cares about you! He's hands down one of the best Professors I've ever experienced yet! His classes are so interesting and fun - I never missed his class b/c I always had a great time there! VERY GOOD VIBES!
