good teacher. he gives you all the notes! he works out on the field, so he has first hand experience with this stuff. very interesting.

By far is one of the greatest teachers on campus. Will help you with any questions by going out of his way to set aside time for you. Class based on 10 quizes and 4 tests, with old quiz questions comprising half of the mid terms. Great class!

Great teacher, funny, very smart. Sometimes his vocab is a little hard to undrstand. No actual homework, just quizzes and tests which are all easy if you went to lectures.

I liked this class: the professor is nice & sometimes funny, although sometimes boring 2. The quizzes/tests r easy, all multiple choice & the final is 75% same questions as on quizzes. A good class to take, very interesting & cool.

An easy 'A' just have to be there everyday, you will not only get an A but be entertained. Quizzes and exams are the easiest, all based on previous quizzes!!! Recommend you take Lab at the same time/.

Honestly, I think he is boring. The material is interesting but he is not a very good lecturer. Although he is always very excited and enthusiastic, his teaching abilities aren't that great.

i am not a science person and am getting an a in his class. use the website and ask someone who has already taken the class for their old exams and quizzes b/c it's a lot of repeat!

EXCELLENT TEACHER. His website has all his lectures and notes, so you dont even have to attend class. He's very nice and funny. FREE HISTORY MUSEUM TICKETS!!! good guy.

Dr. Hollingsworth... kinda cooky, really likes animals, has a pet snail- get the quizes and tests from year before and you will pass-if you want an A study those and the taxons of animals, helps if he does switch things up.

I suppose that everyone who rated him, rated him before the final. I had a 95% all semester, but because of the final got a 88% in class. Beware, u think u had an easy A, then u get screwed.

HIs passion for the material is refreshing, and the class is interesting. He has a class website, and allows you to keep old quiz forms to study from. Good professor, good class.

Has a good sense of humor for a science teacher. First midterm is really hard but everything after that is cake. His website is really helpful, gives you a plethora of study aids

An awesome guy that likes to throw in jokes about college students. Don't be nervous about quizzes, take them and save them to study off for the exams and final and you will do great. Stick around after the quizzes because he will give the people that stay extra credit. Lectures are on powerpoint, so if you miss a day you can catch up. GreatClass

Ok, easy class! The hardest part are the quizzes and those aren't even hard. Awesome teacher, easy...might be scary the first week or two, but for an easy grade, take this!

Good professor, glad he's teaching next semester. He's hot.

Don't buy the book. Study the lecture slides. Some of the questions on the quiz/exams are only from the video and comments he makes in class.

You definitly need to buy the book. There were many questions on tests that came from the book. This class is VERY interesting and I loved it! Need to put work into it though. Great class, wish i could take it again!

Do not purchase the book if you plan on attending lecture. I didn't buy the book, I hate science and I got a B+ just because I sat there and watched his powerpoints (which he posts on blackboard). Can get boring, but attending class is worth it, plus thats when he tells you about extra credit.

His class is really really really boring. I promise you will almost fall asleep. There are 6 quizzes which are moderately difficult and 3 Tests. He posts the lectures on Blackboard, if you go over them before the quizzes and tests you should be fine.

Hollingsworth is one of the best teachers I've had at state. He is really clear about what is on the tests. All you have to do is show up to class and he tells you everything you need to know. A lot of memorization but if you put the time in, it's an easy A. Plus he gives lots of easy extra credit opportunities.

GO TO LECTURES!! it will be easy if you do. i got an A and didnt read a thing out of the book. PRINT OUT THE POWERPOINT SLIDES AND TAKE NOTES ON THEM IN CLASS!!! <<best advice ever. then just study them well before the quizzes and you'll be fine. he prepares you completely for the tests!!! just make sure you pay attention to his lectures!

Great class. Easy, lots of videos and pictures. Lectures can get a little long. Use class website and keep your quizes and midterms to study and you'll be alright.

Glad to have taken this course as it boosted my GPA a little. Quizzes come from the slides (which are posted online) and the majority of tests come from quizzes. Words like Ctenophora and Nematocytes seem intimidating, but he makes terms clear.

He provides WAY more information than needed to understand material and pass the test. His website is excellent, his study guides are superb, and if you email him with a question he will get back to you quickly and try to find you in the next class to ensure he answered it in a way you understand. DEFINATELY take his course!!

Easiest class to get an A. I got a 98 in the class and never really had to try hard at all. Just go to class and following along with the notes and you too will receive an A.

This class is not hard. Honestly if you absolutely do not want to take biology and you despise the subject than just take this class. There are a lot of long terms/words to remember but trust me they are easy to learn in the end and differentiate. Also, take the lab for this class as well. It is so easy. The questions and test are common sense ?'s.

LOVED THIS CLASS!!! Hollingsworth is the best teacher at state!!! super entertaining and intelligent never missed a class because it was so interesting and fun TAKE THIS CLASS!!! I RECOMEND IT TO EVERYONE!!!

He has one if not THE most clearest English I've EVER HEARD from a Professor at State. All American; no slang at all. Which really makes a difference when you try to listen in a full lecture class of more than 200 students. Course really not that bad. Just pay attention in class, look over the slides/notes and you'll be just fine. =)

If you love or even have the slightest interest in animals, you'll like this class. Every lecture there's always something interesting to learn. There are also videos to watch. =) yay! Go over previous exams to help you out with tests. It really helps. Hollingsworth really knows his stuff! Believe it or not, he believes we evolved from fishes!

So, Bio is boring. And he is a little boring. Except when he talks about animals having sex. The class is easy if you memorize his lectures for the quiz. DONT GET THE BOOK!! just read the lectures. oh and go to class because he offers extra credit quizzes that boosted my grade 8% to an A. Overall i would take this class.

Great teacher. DON'T BUY THE TEXTBOOK. Quizzes are given through bb, are open note and open book, and you have as much time as you want to take them. Gives you the first 10 answers on the test and other questions on the tests are straight from the quizzes. Don't need to go to class because he posts all the lectures online.

Such an easy class. I had no interest in this class before taking it but I actually learned a lot of interesting stuff. Don't buy the textbook. Just study his powerpoint slides and you should get a good grade.

He's very passionate about animals. Very informative class, imho. Class isnt mandatory, but you might miss out of some extra credit points and the stuff he discusses in class comes up in tests.

I really enjoyed this class. ALOT. It wasnt hard, but it wasnt super super easy. Readings are just supplemental. By going to class, taking notes, printing out the slides of the lectures, and practicing the study guides, youll get a good grade. This class is great. I would Recommend it to anyone.

He literally wants to help everyone to get higher than a B in his class. He is extremely helpful. I'm so glad I got him for Bio 100. One of the easiest and nicest professors on campus :) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Class is pretty easy, textbook is not mandatory but it helps. Professor is really clear and helpful on what will be on the exams. Study the study guides/sample exams/quizzes and it should be easy to get an A.

Amazing!Took him my first year of college. You can get the book it helps, but not crucial to passing the class. Very clear but somewhat monotone. For final he will take 5 ?'s from the 3 previous exams and the rest of the final will be the current chapters covered.quizzes are online & you get 2 chances. Wonderful prof. !
