Really great professor. He's really easy to understand and no suprises in his tests at all. He really wants to help the students and will make every effort to work around your schedule for office hours. All his classes have a midterm, a final, and one paper - that's it. He's pretty funny too and cracks a lot of jokes in class.

One of my favorite teachers. He's got a good sense of humor. A great presense. Extremely eloquent and unbelievably intelligent, sometimes a bit over my head, but a very generous grader. He keeps his presentations extremely up to date and he's very well-versed in current events all around the world.

I absolutely adore this man. He really doesn't teach to the book, rather he gives you a current perspective to what's going on in the world today relative to the subjects of the book. Can be a little strange to get used to, but then you'll realize how practical it is. I would recommend him to anyone, and I want to marry the man!

Professor McGuinn is incredible. He is definitely someone who has been there, done that, and he knows everything...I swear he works for the CIA or something. His lectures focus a lot on current events, so if that's your thing, this is the class for you. His lecture can been a bit unstructured, but his study guides help. He's an easy grader.

Take him if you already have a background knowlege of his class...i didnt and had to learn extra since he lectures assuming we know the history of the place. other than that hes a great guy and i also suspect he works for the CIA. lol

He had us do a report on a topic of our choosing and this really helped me understand the subject matter. He is understanding and easy to contact via email. Great professor, very articulate and charming. It seems like he knows everything there is to know on Israel and the Middle East. His lectures have interesting material but can get boring after an hour or so. Not only do I think he works for the USA, i think he's secretly Batman. He is Bruce Wayne with salt and pepper hair. Professor McGuinn is definately one of the best professors I have ever had in my life! He is one of the few who strives to be close to his students, listen to them and comprehend. This is a challenging class. It requires a paper (about 30 pages). But still it is worth it. He helps a lot with writing the paper!!!

EXCELLENT!!! Teacher knows everything about everything about everything about politics, and what seems to be going on currently in the world. Only does two essays and a test at the end. I recommend him to anyone and everyone. Extremely helpful with essays. Class not mandatory. Classes can get kind of long. But it is worth it in the end.

McGuinn is the most influential professor I've ever encountered. I have taken 3 courses with him and I am registered for a 4th. Incredibly elegant speaker with a ridiculously vast vocabulary. Infinite knowledge on the Middle East. Extremely approachable. Exhibits great concern for students. So much more can be learned from him beyond the syllabus.

He is the best professor in all departments, in all schools, ever. Period. Helps you with EVERYTHING you need, always reachable through e-mail, office hours, etc. If you need help with an essay, talk to him and he will guide you, recommend you readings, etc. Class is very interesting, knows the subject like the back of his hand. The lectures were a little boring, but professor Mcguinn is very knowledgeable about whatever subject that he teaches. He is a very charismatic professor and extremely passionate about International Relations. His lectures can be tedious but if you do the readings, you will be golden. (tip: know the articles and examples for each topic for the test to get an A) Overall, a good professor if you like lecture halls and are committed to reading.

Good teacher and generally liked by his students. I personally found his lectures to be a little dry and somewhat tedious so I stopped showing up to class until our papers were due. If you email himshow up to his office hours, he's ready to help and he's actually pretty cool to talk to.

You really learn a lot in his courses. I have taken two of McGuinn's classes and would take more. The only issue is that if you're taking a course of his with no text book, you really have to stay on top of yourself when it comes to the readings and note takings because he doesn't provide a study guide for exams.

McGuinn is a god. If you can write a couple papers decently well, then it will be easy for you. He barely takes attendance, but I went to class just to hear his eloquent voice talk. For the final, if you just take notes on the political ideologists that he praises, then you will be fine. So magical.

I've done a year-long study abroad program for Political Science at the London School of Economics which has some the most highly accredited professors in the world. However, none of them come close to UM's Professor Mcguinn. He is the most eloquent, well spoken professor I've ever taken. His language pulls you into the subject. Highly recommended!

class consists of two approx 9 page essays and a final. he asks for you to send the essay as you write it, and he gives feedback. he wants you to get an A. he rarely takes attendance but if you go and take notes, then you are basically guaranteed a good grade. he is very knowledgeable and caring. i keep taking his classes

Really caring teacher, you have to write an 8-10 page paper for this class, but he lets you send drafts to him beforehand and gives really clear feedback. His tests are easy as long as you do the readings from the book (which I consider very necessary for this course). Attendance is 10% of the grade but honestly, it's just a sign-in sheet.

Graded by a paper, mid-term, and final. Incredibly knowledgeable professor. He talks and chooses his words eloquently, which make him fascinating to listen to but hard sometimes to get his message for notetaking. Lectures tend to be on the tiring side, but in part that's because of the thought it takes to listen to him than material.

Very caring guy. Was going through a lot this semester and he is very considerate. His lectures helped me develop a new refined way of thinking in Foreign Policy. Yes lectures can be difficult it's US Relations with Middle East. It's a topic most do not understand or master completely in one semester. But you will write better, clear instructions.

Took him for POL203 and now taking his 392 int. terrorism course. Dr. McGuinn is definitely the best of the best, and listening to his lectures is like listening to someone tell a fantastic story. Meeting with him before the papers and submitting a draft, then using his comments basically guarantees you an A. It's 2 papers and 1 final. This was my third class I've taken with Dr. McGuinn! He is so knowledgable and his lectures are very interesting. Although there aren't many grades, he is always willing to read drafts of your essay, and his feedback helps a lot! His exams aren't difficult in the slightest as long as you've gone to class and paid attention.

He's incredibly understanding. I've turned in a few assignments late and he was lenient with me. He graded my work based on its quality, basically. I got a B+, but if I was on time with some of my work, I would've gotten an A. The lectures were informative and the structure of the class was amazing.

Nothing I say can truly express how amazing Dr. McGuinn really is. I took six classes with him. His lectures can be a bit boring but attendance is not necessary if you can do good research for the papers. He is always happy to meet and give feedback on your draft to ensure you get a perfect paper grade. Take as many classes of his as you can.

Lectures are fascinating, papers are fun to write since you pick the topic, and McGuinn gives the most thoughtful, detailed feedback which is super helpful when writing your papers (only 3 of them too!) the absolute best.

Professor McGuinn is the best. He handles difficult issues relating to terrorism and international relations with care. He really reads your papers and gives in depth feedback. He also offers unlimited feedback on rough drafts. At times, his lectures aren't super engaging, but if you listen you'll learn lots. Couldn't recommend him more.

Bradford is an exceptional professor, he is very fair and understanding of his students. If you're not into writing papers, this class might not be for you since he mainly assigns writing assignments and there are about 2-3 major writing assignments that make up your entire grade.
