Brad is an exceptional professor. His class is mandatory for MAC students, but you will enjoy it thoroughly.

Great professor who makes lectures engaging and unique Harsh grader on assignments and is almost impossible to get full points on assignments. Midterm was easy and take home.

He is a good professor overall but we read a lot of philosophical text that weren't really directly related to business. All of the accounting info was rushed in class w/ more focus on the readings. Must know the readings front to back for the exam & midterm. the texts are interesting but he's a tricky grader & knows it. beware! ALWAYS PICK FALSE!

Professor Hendricks was incredibly caring, accessible outside of class, and made such a genuine effort to make sure students had as many opportunities to succeed as possible. The class is mainly reading-based, but the midterm was fairly easy. He is a great person and made tough concepts easy to understand!

Great for BUSI 100. Would not say it is easy considering it is only 1.5 credits but certainly not hard. A lot of group work and the midterm was take home and open note. Very likeable guy with interesting lectures. Allowed a one page cheat sheet on the final.

Hendricks is great! Very genuine and caring guy. Beware, the class is focused on the content of the readings and less on solving business problems. To do well you must 100% know the readings. Decent amt of work for 1.5 credits, but mostly valuable information. Hendricks is amazing but I think the tests should be less reading heavy.

I totally loved his personality (he is a swiftie!!!). BUT the entire class is basically these readings (think plato, carnegie, freidman) and you will NOT pass if you do not know these readings. I wish the tests were less reading based, but it wasn't too much work. You are allowed a full 8x11 cheat sheet on the final exam.

This class has a lot of reading for an Intro to Business class, however, his lectures are enjoyable. He is a good person and wants you to succeed.

Mr. Hendricks is such a nice person, he really cares about students. The class is focused on philosophical readings and applying them to business, so be sure to read them and takes good notes on them. We do discuss the readings in class, where he highlights the main points of the text. Overall, he is such a great person and super accessible.

Professor Hendricks is a very nice man and his lectures were enjoyable due to his personality. This class replaced accounting as the B-school prerequisite. I would have much rather taken accounting instead of this. The class was very reading heavy with arbitrarily graded assignments that failed to spark any interest in the business world in me.

Overall good class but make sure you stay on top of the readings and pay attention during lectures. He tends to ask super specific questions on exams like which philosopher said which quote, what videos were played during lectures, and even personal questions about himself. Definitely a lot more work for only 1.5 credit hours but it's doable.

Prof Hendricks is wonderful. The class is daunting solely because of its 8am classes, but his wonderful humor and passion for explaining Business make attending the lectures all worth it. Dr. Hendricks cares about every student both inside and outside the lecture, and does a wonderful job making the coursework both interesting, fun and relevant.

Fave prof I've ever had - puts in effort to get to know students and makes class enjoyable. Made me realize I want to major in BUSI. Could not sing enough praises. Midterm was take-home and final had a cheat sheet (40% of the questions were repeats from other places). Not difficult to do well if you listen/study. He adds spunk to the class.

Professor Hendricks made a potentially dreadful 8 AM class into one I actually enjoyed going to. His personality, mixed with decently interesting class content made for an enjoyable class. Knowing the course readings is essential to doing well on the mid-term and final exam.

Professor Hendricks was by far the most caring professor I had (in a lecture setting). He made it clear and obvious he cared about the students in his class; he even learned names of students. The grading was clear, concise, and fair. But make sure you show up to class, some material on the exam is only accessible if you attend lecture.

Dr. Hendricks is one of the nicest people I have ever met. He cares a lot about his students and it is a very easy intro class. MAKE SURE TO DO THE READINGS. The midterm was an open note and the final was quite simple.

He was a very fun instructor to have, especially as a Freshman. Sometimes his grading was weird but overall he is a great teacher, and makes BUSI100 a fun class, even when my section was at 8 AM.

Brad Hendricks is the best instructor I've ever had! His lectures are engaging, and he memorizes everyone's names. He is available during office hours and via email and is very understanding of students' life circumstances. Make sure to do all the readings and attend lectures (if you don't, make sure to watch Panopto), and you'll do well in class!

Brad is extremely laid-back and nice to students, but I have many complaints about the class. Felt very slow and assignments seem like busy work. Brad's a great guy and the work isn't hard, just a class you have to get through. Wish there were more opportunities to increase my grade - only a handful of assignments + group project + final.

Prof Hendricks is a great professor! He is very down-to-earth and easy to talk to. He tries to get to know everyone in his class despite its large sizes. The group projects were annoying, and the readings sucked. But you learn a great bit about business, and he's a great guy! Business was just not for me lol.

So glad I took this class - it taught me I do NOT want to pursue Business. However, Brad was GREAT! It's a huge lecture, but Brad learned students' names, is personable, and very accessible. I did well on assignments and exams and never missed a class, but got an A- due to attendance, which was frustrating. You have to do the readings to do well.

Brad is great, BUSI100 is a class and that's really all I have to say about it. Brad does a good job of making the subjects fairly interesting and is also a very engaging lecturer and very kind, caring, and funny. Though I doubt this review matters considering he's the only option to take this class.

Dr. Hendrick's class was great and made me love business even more. Max ten pages of reading each week, so not hard at all. Did a good job of making an intro level business class at 8 am interesting.

Professor Brad is the best! His lectures are always engaging, the readings are short and crucial to understanding various business practices. He is passionate about what he teaches and is easy to meet with outside of class. Don't miss the lectures and participate often!

Hendricks is just an overall great guy who clearly cares about his students and the material that he is delivering. Assessments on material are light and rare, and the material is pretty accessible. Thankful to have had him this semester.

While Professor Hendricks could be rather bland and boring at times, he was a very genuine person who cares for students. The assignments in BUSI 100 were not too difficult although the grading was quite strict. Definitely be sure to do the readings each week and take notes when needed. But not a very tough class and the curve was generous.

Professor Hendricks is a caring guy who wants each student to do their best, but this is a challenging course. You have to know the pre-class readings inside/out, and pay attention in class and take notes, as the final will incorporate everything into the class. Hard work, but not impossible, and a fun class to be in.

Incredible professor for a boring topic selection. Mainly philosophy based, he makes the class wildly interesting. Makes himself very available outside of class and genuinely cares to get to know the students. The grading is a little vague but he does his best to give everyone good grades.

Brad is a great teacher. He chose readings that were surprisingly engaging. The exam questions were kind of ridiculous, so take diligent notes in class and the readings, but if you do that, you should be fine. He covers many topics at a very high level but keeps it interesting and clearly cares about the work.

Lectures: Really good lecturer shows a lot of clips from documentaries and films. Keeps them really interesting and class is always enjoyable. Brad was amazing, one of the best professors I have ever had! His lectures are engaging and connect course material to the real world. The readings can be tedious at times, but they don't take too long, and the assignments are relatively short. If you take diligent notes and complete your work on time, you'll do just fine!

Dr. Hendricks is the GOAT. Made me convinced I wanted to keep studying business and apply to Kenan-Flagler, such a caring and funny guy. So sad he is not teaching BUSI100 again!

Professor Henricks is not only an amazing professor, but an inspiring person. He is so knowledgeable about the world of business and life itself. Despite what Adam Smith says, Professor H does not act in self-interest! Highly recommend it, and even if you can't take his class try and get a Zoom call with him to talk about your endeavors!

Such an inspiring professor who really cares about his students! This class is probably one of the easiest you can take at UNC. As long as you take decent notes on the readings, you'll be fine!

He's him...he makes a big lecture feel like a small class. His lectures are fun and informative, but don't fall into the trap of skipping class because he will sneak questions in the final about lectures. Due to curves you never actually know your great but he's a great teacher, assigns interesting readings and projects, and not too difficult.

Easy and Nice

Hendricks is a great professor who strives to get each student even in a class size of 100+. The homework is mostly weekly readings but they are very important as they make up most of the midterm and final. Attendance not required, but important as there are exam questions about lectures. Also, have a group project that's a significant portion.

Professor Hendrick's lectures were always enjoyable and the homework was only a few readings, though some were tedious. A large portion of your grade consists of group work. The midterm and final are easy so long as you have done all the readings and reviewed the poll every where questions. He does allow for a cheat sheet on the midterm and final.

Professor Hendricks was by far the best professor I have had at UNC. He really cares about his students and teaches content that makes you think. The readings were very interesting and applicable to real life. Would love to take another class with him.

Professor Hendricks is a great teacher with a passion for his work. He really cares about his students and wants them to succeed. The class is pretty difficult for an intro-level class but I learned a great deal. Take this class if you are interested in a business degree.

Professor Hendricks is overall a great professor. His lectures are unique and engaging. I would 100% recommend him. He lets you have a sheet of notes on exams and a large portion of your grade is taken up by the assignments so definitely try hard to do well on those. I have learned a lot from him, not all of it related to business.

For anyone who gets into KF midway through the semester, your class emails will go to your KF email. I missed many of professor's emails that way... Check the customer analysis for market games & go to office hours (Hendricks is a great connection). Take notes on EVERYTHING. Dr. Henricks writes exam questions based on all class content and reading.

The best professor you could want for Busi 100. Interesting lecturer, clearly cares about students, and always willing to help outside of class. My one piece of advice is to take time with the reading quizzes-- they're definitely doable but I didn't put much effort into them at first, which hurt my grade.

Good teacher. You're left to figure out market games pretty much on your own, but other than that he makes the class pretty easy. Go back through and watch the lecture recordings and redo readings before the tests, makes it pretty easy. Hendricks does an awesome job at memorizing everybody's names, first professor I have ever seen do that.

Overall class was not too bad. Lectures were okay overall. Beware that market games is very confusing with little instruction and makes up a large portion of your grade. Overall not too bad, not great class though.

Really enjoyed his course last year. Great guy, my group kind of sold me in market games though.

Good teacher, make sure you pay attention to small details

Most caring professor at UNC; he will remember who you are by just one interaction. You don't necessarily have to do the readings, just make sure you get the general synopsis of each one. Meanwhile, the minor details he talks about in class are important. Market games is a little strange, but manageable if you read ALL of the instructions.

Amazing Stories, Amazing Class, and Amazing Person. Make sure you participate in class a couple of times and go to office hours. It isn't stated in his syllabus but you have to put in effort to get a 10/10 on participation. It isn't as simple as attending class and doing all the assignments. As for the tests and assignments they were all easy.

I think I am the only one who thinks this class is hard. As an international student, I had a hard time reading all those philosophy articles. Please try your best for each homework, especially for the market game, which was way more complicated than imagined.

One of the best lecturers i've had! Love the class, missed an A by .3 points but he curves around 2 points. He doesn't say it but you have to raise your hand a few times during the semester and then go to his office hours to get full participation. Also don't mess up on the readings, always get 3/3 on those bc they directly impact final grade.

Professor Hendricks is amazing! Really made an impact on me for my first semester at college. Very caring and such a great class to learn from. Lots of group projects, and pay attention to each canvas assignment. Poll Everywheres are important. Very caring teaching assistants. Definitely need to put in effort to get a good grade in this class.

Professor Hendricks is a really good and organized teacher whose lectures (once a week) were informative. The assignments and exams weren't straightforward, as you would have to do the readings really in depth to get full credit for understanding.

I got a lot of important knowledge from many philosophers in this course. It takes a lot of work to get a good grade. Raise your hand and participate. Polls are worth grade points. Go to TA office hours for market games advice!!! My biggest mistake was not utilizing the TAs for help. His lectures are a little slow-paced for me.

Getting an A was difficult so be sure to fully understand the readings and market games. The math/accounting was easy once you get used to it. In a 300 person lecture hall, your participation is partly graded on how much you talk, which I found annoying. Some reading questions on the tests were worded very ambiguously. Hendricks is one of the best professors I've had at UNC. He is passionate and clearly cares about knowing his students. Engage in lectures and do the readings - you'll get so much more out of the class. The group portion of the course was pretty hard since we had little help on the simulation. Overall, loved this class, just not the Market Games.

Dr. Hendricks is a stellar professor. He really knows what he is talking about, and his integration of the readings and course content is seamless. Made me admire business as a discipline and consider it as a major. Market games can be unpredictable. If you do the readings and study, you will be fine in the class. Curve is typically helpful.

super caring, super knowledgeable. i would say the issues i had with grading were mostly because the b-school grades pretty harshly and isn't super lenient with little mistakes (real just annoying)

Brad is so wholesome, and his class is simple - do readings/hws, help your group in Market Games, perform on tests. The class is designed to be test-heavy (one bad exam will be difficult to come back from), though you get to bring a cheat sheet and he tells you the problem types ahead of time. One midterm, one final, with a +2% final grade curve.

Brad is an amazing professor and cares deeply for his students. The class is based around lecture and a semester long group project. You can request people in your group. 2 absences are allowed. Weekly homework assignments make up most of your grade as well as the midterm and final (multiple choice). There are readings for each class.

Professor Henricks is a very engaging lecturer who cares about his students and the material he's teaching. This course touches on a lot of business topics to help students understand if they're interested in business. The market games was also a really good addition as it taught students to collaborate and engage with a real product.

LOVE this guy he is so freaking cool. HAVE to do the readings every week and study hard for the exams and youre fine. If you need this class for b-school pre-req take it with Brad for sure. Keep in mind market games are really hard so cushion your grade. He gives you all the tools you need to succeed though and is inspirational.

Prof. Hendricks is a great lecturer and integrates readings into classes amazingly. Anything mentioned in class is free game for the midterm, so GO TO CLASS. Grading is done by TAs and is sometimes pretty unclear imo. I hated market games. BUSI100 is much harder than a 1.5 credit class should be. TA office hours were very helpful.

Prof. Hendricks is cool, but the TAs are awful. They grade your assignments like you have their mothers held hostage or something. The majority of your grade is from homework, which is impossible to get a 100% on. The exams are easy if you read, but overall wayyy too much work for BUSI 100.

Professor Hendricks is one of the best lecturers I have ever had. He clearly cares for his students and is very clear about how the class, curve, and overall grading works. The TAs are also fair with grading but not the most helpful feedback wise. The exams are tough and market games grades are largely reliant on getting a good group though.

Good lecturer and a nice guy, but difficult to reach when 800 students are vying for his attention. The content of the class isn't difficult, but has some very annoying ways to lose points on assignments (tricky half-true questions). In general, not difficult to get a good grade with some effort.

Prof Hendricks is a great guy and a great professor. He does a good job of making everyone feel comfortable and making sure the wide array of BUSI 100 topics do not feel overwhelming. Not a hard class if you read and give it the attention it deserves.

Lots of readings, you don't have to do them immediately, but they will come up on midterm and final. Lot of group work, sucks when you get stuck with a bad group. Bad class but good professor.

Really nice guy cares about students despite the large size of his lectures

Professor Hendricks is an amazing person, I love his lectures and his outlook on life. He emphasizes there's more to life than just work. That being said, I absolute HATE market games since I got such a bad group, and that really tanks your grade even though they cap it at 60%. Lots of readings, but overall easy class (esp if you get a good group).

Hendricks is a great guy and super caring of his students! Didn't know what I was expecting coming into this class but this wasn't it. Lots of readings, the math are easy, market game was horrible. I failed 2/3 rounds. Exams were easy. I'm sure I'll enjoy his teaching more if it were another class, just didn't like BUSI100 as a course.

This class was fairly easy. The midterms and tests had some tricks, so its easy to misread and mess up. But, 1/2 of it are just repeated questions from quizlets. One thing that is tricky is the Market games, ..... I got A's on every single assignment and exams and still got an A- b/c we hit mercy (60s)... participation matters (average was an 80%)

Ok class, inspiring professor. GO TO OFFICE HOURS FOR HELP. My biggest issue was market games until I went to the TAs for their tips. They grade fairly and provide their own advice. Overall, not bad just be sure to stay on top of your work

definitely not a walk in the park, you need to really do well on market games. do not get a bad group. hard to get professors attention, so you should try to get close with TAs who imo are way more helpful

Was a lot of work for a 1.5 credit class but Hendricks made sure it was worth your while. I learned so much from this class and can take away a lot of valuable material and mindset.

Prof Hendricks is a fantastic teacher. The tests are not bad if you read and take notes in class. To do well in Market Games, check the math behind the year's targets to make sure it is mathematically possible to hit the goals, and analyze Year 1 results to see what patterns separated top teams from bottom teams and which factors influenced that.

In short, Professor Hendricks is great. The class is lecture heavy, but broken up in topic and format enough for it to still be interesting. He is great at communicating, with detailed emails to the class and quick responses in individual correspondence. Rely on the TAs for help on assignments and Market Games.
