This guy is freaking awesome. He is very young so he understands us and he's very down to earth as well as comedic. I liked how our essays were spaced out and we were allowed to write about anything as long as we followed the format. Your class plays a big part in making it fun so participate in class and you will get more out of it.

had em for enc1101. great teacher learned more in his class than any other english class in highschool and middleschool. actually taught me how to write a decent essay. Study for the quizzes for easy points. When you screw up on the essay he'll make sure you know how to do it right.

This teacher is the sh*t! He is really really really cool. He grades the papers kind of harsh, but allows you one free re-write. His topics that you write about are pretty easy and there's only 5 papers and journals. Will talk about anything!

This guy is the****!!!!! Take his class. Just make sure you show up and do the work. His classes are fun too so it's not really that bad.

Down to earth funny prof, zooba zooba! He will get u laughing and involved with the class. Alot of people complain he is tuff on grading but if you just do exactly what he tells you, you will get an A. Use tons of quotes to back your arguments up in your papers and you'll be fine, make sure u tie the quotes into the paper not just drop them in

awesome teacher. makes class fun, open discussions about everything we read. great guy really laid back. easy quizzes on readings. not that hard on grading essays...but there is a lot of writing. you have to know what you're doing. if you're a good writer take him.

If you want to learn how to right Great papers for those other classes this it the professor to take. His grading is a little tuff, but he'll teach how to get A's. I took him for both Eng 1 & 2 he the coolest and classes are fun!

Good teacher. He is hard an grading but fair. Do what he asks for and you will have no problem. If you need help, he will more than happy to explain. Highly recommend for those who hate english. he will make it interesting.

He is a very good professor, but be prepared to work. He does give a quiz everyday on the readings, but he wants people to understand what is being discussed. A very open discussion class. Great Teacher

Make sure you keep up with the journals! And also he tends to get off the subject alot and somehow the discussion of sex comes up. But it was an enjoyable class, greatly reccomended!

Awesome teacher. took him for ENC1102 and AML2010. makes boring stories fun by relating it to real life. no major tests but he does give readings and randomly quizzes you on them. he tends to be strict on grading essays, but if you know what you are doing you should be fine. highly recommended.

Honestly, one of the best teachers I've ever had. He's so interesting to talk to--- a little weird at times (ZOOBA!) But, the most fun class i've had by far. His wisdom and character is the best and probably the funniest guy i've ever met. You will definitely become a better thinker, writer, and DEBATER!

Brad is the bomb.com! He makes boring literature fun to learn about and helps you relate to the stories with current events. He has a great sense of humor that makes you want to come to his class as well as his excessive use of the word 'Zooba'. Take his class and you won't regret it, promise!

He gave very good lectures but there was a lot of work. Essays, journals, and at least two hours of mandatory reading between every class. You are tested on reading material every class. I would not take his class again!

Prof. Brad Johnson gives great lectures. I learned a lot with him, and appreciated his effort to bring the best out of his students. It's for sure not a class for procrastinators. I loved all the readings and class discussions. People that complain about his techniques should rethink about their desire to go to a university after community college!

LOVED HIM. Yes you do have do most of the reading b.c he gives a quiz once a week and you do have to know how to write more or less properly but its not the end of the world. He is great at explaining the texts and always gets the class involved. Great prof. Honestly one of my favorite profs to date. Take him, he will make american lit interesting.

Good teacher but make sure you stay on top of things. I recommend taking your book and reading the assignments on the beach or somewhere enjoyable between classes. He is hilarious if you like his type of humor!

Professor Johnson is awesome!!! That class was very interesting throughout, and even the boring part we made interesting! He does give a lot of reading assignments, but as long are you read you'll do fine! He really opens you eyes and broadens your perspective on life! =]

Great prof. I love how people write on here, "you have to do most of the readings." Christ their going to get a wake up call if they transfer to a University. And yes correct grammer is important to go with your bs fluff. For the record I got an A in the class and I didn't study night and day.

Best Professor I ever had. He is a really nice person that relates to his students. He gaves students feedback, and promotes critical thinking. I really liked the fact that he is always challenging our intellects with follow up questions to our responses in class discussions. He prepared me for really hard Lit classes at FAU.

great professor.. very fun class. makes you think and look at things from a different perspective. some say he is a harsh grader but he gives you what you deserve and is not the type of professor to give out free A's. I reccommend this class to anyone interested in literature and such.. if you're looking for an easy A, go somewhere else.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this class and highly recommend students to choose this course and this instructor in particular. The class was an open forum. Dialog was encouraged. Do the work and you'll pass.

Such a great professor. He is so funny and very smart! People say he is a harsh grader but I don't believe he is. You get what you give in this class. If you put in the effort it shows. I took three of his classes and they were all a lot of fun!

Harsh grader on essay-you must work hard to achieve A. I got an A, but I worked very hard to do so. Extreme amount of postings req for online class-discussions all week long. Not difficult, but very time consuming. He grades on quantity, content,responses, & # threads. Good thing-he lets you have an opinion & allows unique analysis of thought.

Passionate, witty, really stimulates your thinking. For those of you seeking a challenge with a great teacher that will broaden your horizons, this is the guy. Reasonable grader, as long as you don't write like an imbecile.

Awesome professor. Really cool and chill but still teaches with clarity. Some of his quizzes were a bit unfair but they are only worth 10% of your grade so it's barely a factor. Not a hard grader, but still work hard on his essays.

I took his Creative Writing class online. It was interesting and fun. He is very helpful and gives excellent feedback to your work. I recommend him to anyone. The only way you can fail this class is by NOT DOING ANYTHING. If you fail this class, it is your own fault.

Amazing teacher who tries to get the whole class involved and thinking about the topics and discussions. He loves to debate and express his opinion but is polite and always lets someone counter with there own. The class work is not hard at all, essay mistakes can be check at the English lab for free and the longest reading is 30 pages.

VERY VERY DIFFICULT GRADER! Almost impossible..... Lets put it this way I have a 3.9 GPA went to the writing lab twice they approved of my work said it was great, I get my paper back with no grammar or punctuation error's and good thesis and body I received a B on my essay... The quizzes are almost impossible as well very very detailed questions.

I really enjoyed taking Professor Johnson's class and I got an "A". He's well versed and conjures interesting discussions. He's extremely clear about what he expects of you and will always accept work early to review it with his commentary. There was a bit of writing involved in this class, but that's to be expected. Overall recommended!

Byfar one of my most inspirational teachers. He mentions sex a lot throughout his teachings, but he makes extremely valid points about things. His teachings aren't just about Am. Lit. but it's about life. Truly one of my favorite teachers I've ever had. Tough grader, but is extremely fair with things. Absolutely loved his class, would reccomend.

I took the summer online AML2020 lit class. Professor Bradley was amazing and the schedule was great. He really allowed us to give our views on plays, stories and poems we read. I highly recommend taking his class, it was awesome.

AMAZING PROFESSOR!! You cannot go wrong here. If you participate in class, read your assignments, and actually try on your essay assignments, it is not rocket science. He is very helpful and makes class fun and interesting. Great sense of humor!

If you are looking to slide by through college don't take this class. If you actually want to learn and experience a great class this is your guy, if you work hard and participate you will get a good grade. By far best class I have taken in pbcc. This class is more about learning how to think than to write, learning how to argue.

Haha the funniest and best professor I ever had!!! He is soo cool. He knows how to make the most boring stories interesting. Not one lecture was ever boring!!! He gives really good extra credit points... Not too bad of a grader... I would take another class with him in a heart beat!

If you actually care about being enriched when it comes to English and literature then this is your professor. I found him to be intelligent, witty, and interesting, his class was great. By far one of the best professors PBSC has to offer. If you want an a dull, easy English class, look somewhere else.

Professor Johnson is a great teacher but he is really tough. Getting an "A" from him on assignments is really hard, contrary to what a lot of comments here say. I took Creative Writing online and loved the lesson plan, just wish he gave more feedback, especially on the final portfolio assignment that got zero comments from him. Highly recommended.

Now this guy is what you call THE MAN! He is so awesome, definitely one of the most intelligent and insightful human beings I have ever come across. I hated when class was over, that's how much I enjoyed it. He has inspired me so much that now I have switched my major over to English. BEST PROFESSOR EVER! He's got a great sense of humor as well.

He is very clear. I took the online class. Basically, you have to read what he assigns each week, and then write 4x250 words on it. Its actually really not hard if you do it throughout the week. Procrastinate on it, it will take forever. Good luck!

He is THE BEST professor ever. He talks about random topics, and it's always an interesting debate. But let me warn you, THERE IS NOT WINNING A DEBATE WITH HIM. Yes he is biased in his arguments, but there has not been ONE class that I was bored in. VERY easy class. He's helpful when you ask.

Very good teacher. Sometimes, he seems imposing his points of view in class. However, as a teacher, he does a good job, engages interesting conversations. If you study and do the papers and the quizzes, you will get an A.

An absolutely amazing proffesor. He keeps you entertained and still gets you thinking. This class opened up my eyes to alot of things I would have never given thought to. I would most definitely take a class with him again.

Took for comp 1 do the journals !!! He makes mistakes in his quizzes and gives you extra credit requires 3 papers and is a easy grader! Most if the time we would just watch videos in class

He uses real world examples to apply older texts. Lectures go off on tangents because of this. Tries to present alternative arguments for the sake of broadening perspective rather than winning the argument. Quizzes detail based, not meaningsymbolism based. Participation important. Passionate about material. Journals are personal, essays difficult.

Mr Johnson is the truth! His class was filled with very interesting topics and ideas that force you to think. We had 12 Journal assignments and 4 essays. All are very easy. There were a few quizzes, about once a week. The in class discussions are great! If you want to take your writing and thinking to the next level, then take Brad Johnson.

Good Professor. I'm not a big fan of literature but I enjoyed his class & the discussions with my classmates. I think there was fair amount of reading & classwork for an online course. Follow the syllabus, do your required discussions, posts, & 2 essays (on time) and you'll pass! I would recommend him & take his class again.

The best teacher! He's amazing and I would for sure take it again if I could. Explains everything with details and make you think throughout the semester with good subjects. Very friendly with the class, which gives the class a really relax area.

Amazing professor. Really interacts with the classroom and the classes end up being intellectual discussions. He can expand your mind if you let him. Read for the class and come prepared for silly five question basic quizzes and you'll be okay. Eight journals, two essays in the whole class. You'll enjoy it.

Decent amount of reading to be done with discussions due every week. Pretty easy and straightforward class if work is submitted on time and by the guidelines.

He tries to act crazy, but that's just to get your attention. He's actually really chill. Don't be afraid to argue with his viewpoints, he actually appreciates free thinkers! A lot of discussion of race and gender, some thought it was off topic. The most engaging class I've taken so far, and the open dialogue helps you make friends. TAKE THIS CLASS

This professor is Amazing!!! He is so funny, you will never be bored in his class. Every class is usually just a conversation between the class and him. All of the issues brought up in class are very interesting. He will broaden your perspective on a lot of things. The paper topics are pretty interesting too. I would definitely take him again!!!

He's awesome, such a nice guy. I took both his classes. One online and the other honors. So easy. Going to class is better. He loves participation and input and he is so friendly. He's super caring and all you have to do is listen in class and the quizzes are pretty easy and the tests are the same as the quizzes. Not much work besides that!

fun class. make sure you do the reading, the quizzes will add up. super easy class to pass. DO the journals as you read! take notes cause it'll help you on your journal! hes weird but somehow slightly attractive

You have to have lots of inspiration and participate in discussion in order to pass this class. The professor gives excellent feedback in regards to our own fictional ideas. I would recommend this class to those who wish critic on their work. It gives you an idea on how people would react to your work.

Very subjective class, Prof Johnson gives constructive feedback and if you simply do the work which is not very difficult, you will do well. Would recommend this class.

He's hilarious, and he give great feedback so i definitely recommend him, you will have the time of your life in that class and you'll learn so much more.

He is amazing, no hard work at all. He is funny and makes the class interesting. Be ready to go in class 10 mins late bc he will always be late but if he is extra late (15 mins) hell give you a free quiz grade! If you dont like talking, dont take him because he like to discuss a lot of topics

AMAZING PROFESSOR!! I developed a crush on Prof Johnson solely because he is a genius. I loved attending his class, he really pushes you to analyze works and think deeper. Prof Johnson truly made me develop a passion for literature as a whole. Although I did not finish with an A, I did pass and learned HEAPS along the way. Loves participation!!

Professor is one of a kind. Fashionably late to Every class. At least 15 mins late so don't run a red light trying to speed to class. Gives out Pop quizzes when he feels like it but most of the time he'll just give you a 100%. Participate & Don't plagiarize. Don't play yourself. 2 Essays and 8 journals due for this class. Fairly easy. Tough grader

Professor Johnson is easily the best professors I have ever had. Each one of his lectures is packed with information about literature, art and life itself. He is also very socially aware. As a married straight white male, he often appears genuinely apologetic about American history and its brutal nature towards minorities. Hidden gem of PBSC.

He's a great teacher. He makes his students laugh a lot. He will always have a discussion about the readings and he will make you write journals which should be an easy A because it's your opinion. Don't skip class, only if you have a real excuse because he will ask for proof to see if your excuse matches the note. He is really helpful and nice.

Professor Bradley was is by far my favorite professor. His lectures are intriguing and it was always a pleasure going to class. Not to mention, he's really amusing and smart which really got my mind thinking. His essay topics are conterversial and I loved writing them. Finished off with an A! Would take him again without even thinking twice.

MY FAVORITE PROF. BY FAR!! In my opinion he is a tough grader on essays, but he gives you feedback to earn a better grade. Prof. Johnson is hilarious, and he keeps the class fun. He speaks about different topics that makes his students think. We had to do many journals (about 12) that were due at the end of the class term.

Professor Johnson is one of my favorite professors. His lectures go from humorous to mind blowing in minutes. We had to write two essays and and 4-6 journals, which we had all semester to do. He gives good feedback on the essay. Have had him for online and in class. Also do the readings for the quizzes as he suggests.

Mr. Johnson is seriously one of the best professors I've ever had. I've always been a class skipper but he always made me want to be there! He will challenge all thoughts; all the time! my only regret was not doing the work he assigned when he assigned it. Because everything is due at the end of the semester, its easy to fall behind by being lazy!

amazing professor! assignments are based on present world events instead of boring assignments from the textbook. he can be a tough grader & he also does journals and pop quizzes from the articles he assigns for you to read. other than that just show up and pay attention and youll definitely pass !

The online class entails a lot of writing, but I'm pretty sure as long as you show you actually read the material he will give you a 100 on every discussion. Easy A. Discussions 50% of grade, two essays worth 25% each. Essays require research and are challenging. I took this online, but he seems like a really good prof i wish id taken him in person

Can I just say how much I love this professor. All discussions are on current events, he tries to be reliable as possible. Essay's are pretty easy, he uses class time to correct essay.

Professor Johnson was overall reasonable when it came to grading. The weekly discussions (just do them correctly and youll get 100s). There were 8 total discussions that were 1000 words each total. These became tedious after a while but they were not hard. His essays were very lengthy and required A LOT of research. Did them both in 2 days.

This class was great! Each week you have to write four discussion post (1000 words in total). The required poems/ short stories were interesting. There were two 1500 word research essays that weren't too hard.

Took online AML2020, it is an okay class. You have to write 1000+ words every week and have two 1500+ word essays to write. Things are due on certain days or you will not get credit. If you are not good about submitting work on time or not able to dedicate enough time to reading the stories and doing weekly posts you wont pass!!

Professor Johnson was AMAZING!! He makes the class super interesting and clear. There are 4 essays to be done and honestly it is good if you have some background in writing. It is an easy class if you attend and pay attention on his tips.

Basically, if you do the assignments each week you'll pass. He's not too strict on grading and he grades quickly. If you don't mind reading, I'd recommend it as an easy class.

BEWARE there are no posted due dates so you can easily get 0s on assignments without realizing. I missed some assignments because I had no idea that they were due but I submitted them anyway and he gave me almost full credit. grading is based on 13 discussion posts and 2 essays. Put in the work and you will definitely pass. NOT a difficult class

I am a highschool student and took this class. Very simple if you get your work done and show improvements throughout the year. Definitely recommend.

I was initially hesitant to take this professor because of the reviews, but I ended up really enjoying the class—especially the reading and analysis. It's a straightforward course with no unnecessary homework, just the reading assignments. As long as you follow his directions, you'll do well.

Such a great professor!! The lectures are very interesting, and attendance is not mandatory at all. There were 16 discussions, so one every week, and 3 essays gives great feedback with clear instructions of what he wants
