new teacher...lectures are clear and interesting. very helpful with any questions you have.exams are pretty easy;scantron and short answer.lab projects are not too bad they're actually pretty fun. he's easy to talk to. i recommend his class.

EVERYTHING on the tests is straight from the book, and the book is an easy read. Plus he's a really nice guy and very intelligent. Has lots of real life examples to add to the lecture.

I love Brad McAuliff. He's a great teacher because he really gives the material life with his lectures. He's also a total sweetheart and really wants his students to learn.

He is truly an amazing teacher. The material is very interesting. Read the material before you come to class and you will get an A. Brad really makes this stuff extra interesting. This was a really wonderful class and I highly recommend him.

This class is interesting, it makes sense, and it isn't boring. Our Lab class rarely met (We wrote four 3-5 page papers instead). He is great and he remembers what it was like to be in classes, so he knows to keep you interested in the material! (Bonus: you can use an old edition of the text!)

The class is really interesting and you learn alot. Chapter quiz on the definitions and exams are on the lecture notes, he does everything power point. The labs have alot of writting for a 1 unit class.

Brad is an awesome teacher. Not only does he hold fair expectations of his students and give clear assignments and grades, he is always available to students who need help- whether it is in his class or another. I took his class three years ago and he is still willing to give of his time to help me out and write letters of rec etc. Definately try to take a class with him if you are in the Psyc department.

Brad is an amazing guy. I loved his class, you learn about soo many cool experiments that took place back in the day. The tests were kinda hard..you just have to study a lot to pass. He is very understanding and is always willing to talk to you about anything. Another cool thing is tha all semester you go to lab 3 times and thats it!!

Professor McAuliff is one of the best teachers I have had at CSUN. Keeps you interested the entire time. Great Power Point lectures. If you come to class and study his power point lectures, you will get an A. The lab is a full APA research paper, which is way too much work for a 1 unit class, but he is worth taking anyway.

Never thought I would ever say it, but I actually looked forward to going to his 8 AM class - I loved him! He teaches in a simple enough manner and is very engaging. Tests are straight from the studyguide (buy the supplement) and there are lots of extra credit opportunities. I learned so much from his class. Take him; you won't regret it.

i took this class over the summer and it was great! however, if your interested in learning the details for future research not recommended. otherwise, this professor rocks! he gives extra credit, and pop quizzes. but if your in class everyday , do the reading and homework, you should do fine!

I did not think I would enjoy social psychology when I first stepped into his class, I took it mainly to fulfill a requirement, but after just a couple of days I realized the topic is amazing and he just made it even better.. Awesome teacher that I would recommend taking!

Take this class! Mcaullif will give you really good examples that are impossible to forget during test time. The class, to me, seemed mostly memorization. If you memorize your notes, and read the sections he covers in class in the textbook, you'll get an A. He gives study guides + extra credit and gives slides so you can follow his lecture.

If you like Social Psych then this is your class. He gives 3 exams and a paper. He's funny and seem a bit unapproachable when you first meet him, but he's a cool guy. He's understanding, but his exams can be hard. Especially the first one.

Very easy class if you do the readings (interesting topics) and take notes in class. He is very funny and totally understands his students. The three exams (not cumulative) are a piece of cake. There is one personal application paper which is not dreadful to write. Plenty of extra credit. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!!

He is a cool teacher and uses power point slides which is good. He does make class entertaining with his little stories..But I will say the test quetions can be a little confusing. The subject matter is easier than how it's presented on the exams. I took him for summer. So 3 exams and one paper worth 20%. He was alright.

Attendance & reading the book are both mandatory- DO NOT rely on just the power points! And definitely do not miss the essay at the end of the semester- it saved my grade. He doesn't curve, and the questions on the tests are tricky (and I read the book and never missed a lecture). Very entertaining guy, but the class is a little hard.

Really great professor. His lectures are great. He doesn't move too fast. He goes over the concepts in multiple ways and gives really good, relevant examples of what he's teaching. His class seems so easy because of his great teaching, not because the material is so easy. Huge 200+ class so it was a little impersonal, that's all I can complain.

Let me start off by saying, he is a very motivated professor, keeps you awake even at eight in the morning. Lectures are quite interesting. NEGATIVE about this professor is, his tests are confusing to the limit. You can read the lecture notes and the book, but the lecture notes are WAY more easier to understand than the test questions.

He is one of the best professors I've taken at CSUN! 3 exams and 3 freebies on each exam, and a personal application paper. He even offers extra credit. Take him, you won't regret it!

Take him, very passionate about what he teaches. You have three tests plus a final which you can skip three questions without penalty and a personal application paper and tons of extra credit. I had him for a large lecture class, so it was very impersonal with over 200 students... However, if you talk to him after class, he will carefully listen to you and try his best to help you. Maculiff is an ok teacher. He does lack empathy and sympathy for his students. I will say you will learn if you come to class. His exams are examples of the concepts so it is not straight forwarding testing. I have had him for 345 and 321, and in 321 he is more strict and gives more work. But take him for 321 if you want to pass

Professor is quick at responding to emails even with a busy schedule. Easy to talk to and approach too. Class is a little challenging to get used to, definitely study for midterms to do well.

He is a solid prof. His personal stories are hilarious, not afraid to lose his dignity. Straight up lectures through PowerPoint when he's not sharing stories. Easy material. Kind of drags at 8am class and expects full discussion participants even though the class is half asleep. Can't go wrong taking him.

McAuliff is down-to-earth and straightforward in his lectures. The first half of the class is basically review of PSY320 and then a group project where you run a study and write a paper on it. He helps you with every step, though. He gave about 3-4 tests and a few pop quizzes, but they were easy. I would take him again.

Professor McAuliff made my 8 AM interesting through his stories. He tends to go off-topic at times but he is sure to go back to the course material. If you attend class and take notes, you should be fine.

I thought he would be funnier but I was disappointed. I don't recommend his online course he is way better in person and i'm not just saying that because his Botox is on point. In person he is more charismatic, charming and energetic. When we transitioned to an online course due to COVID19 it seemed like he stopped caring.

I loved him, even though it was online. I would've loved to take him in person. He is a very great lecturer, even though the class subject isn't my fav and I lagged on it till my very last semester. 2 exams, biweekly video lectures with a quiz + hw, and lots of EC. If you could save him for in person, I would. Great class for a first year IMO.

Dr. McAuliff's lectures are very useful and although the class was online, somehow he managed to keep me very well interested and engaged in his class. He is a great professor! The lectures are interactive which are worth points, fun & easy homework, a small quiz after the lecture, 4 exams, and a two-page essay. Take his class, you will enjoy it!

BEST TEACHER I TOOK THIS SEMESTER AS A PSYCH MAJOR! No actual zoom attendance, he posts the lectures to watch and take a mini quiz during the lecture and then homework on the book website which you have to purchase online for like $70 to also access the homework! I wish he had more psych classes I need, absolute gem! Take notes during the lecture!

I really enjoyed the content of this class, especially the way that Professor McAuliff presented his lectures. He is very competent in his field and explains everything so thoroughly. The assigned homework is fairly easy and the exams are reasonable. Overall, he is a GREAT professor!

Prof McAuliff is great! His assignments are due every 2 weeks and they consist of his lecture videos, homework assignments and quizzes. He has 3 exams which are similar to the quiz format. He makes sure to highlight specific ideas or studies that will be brought up on the exam.

Prof McAuliff is amazing! You get work every 2 weeks which is super easy. Setting an hour and a half aside every 2 weeks for this class is worth it.

I only have good things to say. Clearly passionate about the subject. Interesting lectures. Expensive online textbook but worth it to have it all online. Always there for office hours and I liked that he brought humor into his lectures. Really interesting subject. I enjoyed the course and having him as my professor.

He uses McGraw-Hill Connect for HW, quizzes, and exams which will cost you $75. He posts lectures on canvas which are 1 hour long and mandatory to watch - you can't skip them and you will be asked 5 easy questions about lecture. 1 short HW and 1 short quiz each week. 3 total exams proctored but not with camera. 1 easy summary paper. Easy class.

I had this wonderful professor so long ago, I'm now a doctor (physician). The one person I remember best from CSUN is Brad. He is the most genuine, caring, authentic teacher and person you'll meet. I was so lucky to have him. I learned more than any other classes yet I did so without stressing. You're lucky if you have a chance to take his class.

Hi, I like the professor because all assignments were easy. He records his lectures only for video lecture assignment that is every week and there were 6 questions during the video where the answers were right on the slides. Grades easily. Definitely would take him again.

Take HIM! He's such an amazing professor, although his class was fully online he gives you about a week and half to complete his assignments. Watch lectures and do the homework's each week and you'll pass with an easy A. At the end of the semester you have a paper due but its on the material you learned over the course. Amazing professor!

One recorded lecture (6 questions in it, open-ended/multiple choice), 1 quiz (6 questions), and 1 homework (12-15 questions) every 2 weeks. 3 exams(uses proctorio, but no need to turn on your camera), 1 final. Overall an easy class and if you're looking to just get the grade then take him. You have exams, lectures that you must watch and answer a few questions. A final paper is due at the end. Not a bad class at all but I was very bored while watching the lectures, maybe because it was online and I would lose focus but I found it to be very boring.

Professor McAuliff is a fantastic professor! Took PSY 345 last summer and found his lectures to be fun, informative, and even though it was all online, his personality and passion comes through. Easy assignments, not too much workload, he's an easy grader and very communicative. Highly recommend!

His class is by far one of the most easiest courses I've ever taken. This class with him is definitely for you if you want a very flexible schedule! It's just homework, quiz, and lecture videos and they don't take long to do, it's all just reading/listening and answering questions.

No bad things to say about this professor, theres online quizzes, homework and whatnot. It's all in Smartbook, it's a class you CANNOT fail in, and only one paper about what you learned and your personal ideas and how it's relevant to your life. He responds quickly, and just overall amazing. I definitely recommend taking him.
