He makes his class entertaining. You have to have good memorization skills because you have to memorize potential essay questions that are going to be on his tests. He is a fair grader

He gives you every question he will ever ask you when you buy your book. He'll add three or four questions to separate the class a little, but basically just memorize the questions and you will breeze through with an A.

Great professor, part comedian/part professor. If you fall asleep he wont bother you. Tests are essays format. Questions given before the tests. Just have to memorize them and right essay before hand. Damn i wish all classes were like this.

Very easy class and extremely easy teacher! Knows everything about history! Class is kind of boring, and he takes attendance everyday and counts it as part of your grade. Tests are very easy! Easy class to take!!

Wonderful class!!! I've always hated history, but he made it enjoyable and easy to remember. Class was very easy. As long as you look over the questions he gives you, there should be no problem getting 'A's on the tests.

He sells his notes, so you don't need to buy the book. The tests are easy to study for b/c they're in his notes, but he expects waaay too much writing and remembering simple details on the essay tests.

The class is not very hard if you study. If you are not great at writing essays it can be challenging. He gives the essay and multiple choice questions before hand, so if you study those it shouldnt be too hard. Good professor.

GREAT TEACHER! Very entertaining to sit through the lecture and very comedic. Made class very fun to go to even though it was just lecture. Grades quite strict on essays but is fair. Willing to compromise if you mess up on one essay test.

reynolds is a funny guy... and i learned a lot from his lectures. you really don't have to go to class. tests are straight forward, he even gives you the EXACT questions before the test! Essays are a pain, 50% of final grade.

He is a smart guy, knows his stuff. The tests are pretty straight forward just study your book. He does take random attendance so be careful and u will be fine. Got a B in class and I rarely studied.

Wow, a great teacher! It doesn't get much easier than this class, plus, he's an interesting teacher. The book has all the questions and answers you'll need for the midterm and final. He also gives u the essay questions. Such an easy class, but also a great guy.

This class might be tough for those who dont like writing essays because 70% of the grade is 2 essays, but his lecture is extremely interesting. He's the best professor I could ever meet in my life. you never get bored in his class.

THIS IS THE ONLY TEACHER TO TAKE FOR HISTORY. HE WILL KEEP YOU TOTALLY ENTERTAINED! HE IS SO EASY GOING AND FUNNY. THE MULTIPLE CHOICE PART OF THE TEST IS WAY EASY, BUT YOU BETTER BE VERY VERY DETAILED ON HIS ESSAYS. HE IS PICKY ABOUT DETAIL. BUT, OVERALL GREAT CLASS!!

I like the way he has organized his class. You really don't need to worry about this class until exams are near. He gaves multiple choice questions and answers in his book that you can study for the multiple choice test b/c they have the same exact answers. Basically, study real well on your essay.

Class is straight-forward, and he's a cool guy, but "if you're an A student" you should take the whole time to write the essays - which are worth most of your grade. So if you don't like writing essays and don't like history, choose someone else.

Funny guy and very easy. He is intelligent and has great sense of humor. I had good time attending in his classes and even better time writing the tests. He gives the answers all u need is to study the answers and u served an A to yourself.

Reynolds is the ish!! I love this guy. The multiple tests are easy because the answers are in the book. The essay tests are relatively easy if you take a LOT of notes (if mostly fill up the blue book you're sure to get an A). I even hated history but after taking his class I loved it.

This guy is amazing. The lectures were the best I've had so far and probably ever. He perfectly outlines history in a matter of 50 minutes. The guy is funny and will tell you lots of funny funny stories that relate to history. Definately take the class, it's easy and enjoyable and Prof Reynolds just makes it even better.

Reynolds is the best History professor I have ever had in my life! His tests are easy considering that he gives the answers for the multiple choice ones in his lecture book. Buy the lecture book because that is all you need. I hated History until I took his class. No one I have talked 2 has said something bad about Reynolds.

He makes history interesting by putting it into perception. Takes attendence but it's not that bad cause class isn't very boring. ONLY GET HIS TEXT WITH HIS LECTURE NOTES. You won't even use the other text and it'll just be a waste of money. He has 2 essays and 3 multiple choice, but the multiple choice are straight out of his text. Good class

very easy.... gives 3 multiple choice tests 10 percent each.. all u have to do it memorize the answers from the book./.. then theres 2 essay test... 30 percent each .. just read about it and you'll do fine.. the only bad thing is attendance you'll never know when he'll take attendance so just try to show up all the time..

This class is very interesting and I like Professor Reynolds because he's very easy to teach history. You can find all the answers in his lecture book that will be on the midterms and finals. The essays are a little hard, you just have to study hard and memorize the essays.

The lectures are very interesting, very clear, and the book for the class is an outline of everything he lectures about. He really makes the subject interesting, and the tests are extremely easy. Take him if you want to breeze by and learn something at the same time.

Very laid back, funny, knowlegeable guy. DEFINITELY take Reynolds, you won't regret it. The multiple choice tests are so easy, I could take them with my eyes closed. Don't buy the textbook, just the outlines. Essays are challenging but there are only 2; just study and it'll be fine. I got an easy A.

while hes a nice guy and super easy just know hes TAs are the ones you need to be friendly with. they grade everything and he just double checks. steve batham is one of the TAs. don't get me wrong though, reynolds is awesome too just an FYI. easy A though either way. he does randomly take role-likes ppl to come to lecture, its fun though. hes chill

he's a simple teacher, however GO TO CLASS, and study for the essay exams they are the biggest part of ur grade because the multiple choice come right out of the book. i got a C for poor attendance and ok essay. so anyone can pass.

HILARIOUS Prof. Great stories, clear lectures. MC exams are super easy as long as you memorize the MC quizzes from his lecture book (so don't buy textbook). On the essay exams, study for the 1 question that'll most likely appear on exam day to the max (that's how I studied). Random attendance checking. 2 midterms, 1 final. Got an A in the class.

I love his class, I would take it again if I could. Anyway his class consists of multiple choice tests and 2 blue book assignments. Which are ALL in the book!!! only buy the purple one because the other one you dont need at all. plus, he's really really HOT!

be forewarned, an A is nearly impossible. he's okay i didn't particularly care for him. in fact, i really didn't like him at all. make sure the TAs like you because reynolds doesn't give a damn about you.

Take it from someone who has recently taken him. Although u c a lot of happy faces, he is NOT the teacher u want. Yea sure, his M.C. tests are easy, & u can prepare for the essay part of the 3 midterms & final that he gives, but on top of that, u have 10 hist projects & 10 newspaper article projects to do. His lectures are BORING, he's not worth it

Kind of boring, but he only checks the attendance of the people who are constantly gone...he is always gone and he sends a grad student to teach so you can leave...newspaper and history projects are lame, but tests are easy...if you take him, take him early in the morning because he wont bother you that much...

Professor Reynolds is a wonderful teacher. He practically gives you the test but you will more than likely find yourself going to his lectures because they are so interesting. History was boring until I took his course. I enjoy how he teaches. He teaches history as if it were a soap opera. He's a great guy, funny too.

Always late to class He showed up late to an essay test, when asked what was wrong he said I missed writing anything about 1944. Essay was about WWII. When I brought up the lack of time because he was late, he said I should have outlined it or soemthing! All he does is talk about his trips, never in his office hours, avoid this man and his trips!!

I am always worried about history because I usually don't like it but I recommend this teacher to anyone. His lectures are awesome, if you don't finish an essay exam - he lets you just outline the points you were planning on making. Plus, he practically gives you the tests before hand. Only takes role sometimes. way interesting. take this professor

AN AMAZING TEACHER! Professor Reynolds not only knows history but he will make it interesting! the only history class that i didn't fall asleep in. If you go to class (attendance is mandatory) and take notes then you will be fine. ps if you fail this class or get anything less than a b, you're not meant to be in college.

Excellent prof. Very clear and makes history very interesting. The multiple choice questions are exactly from the study guide book, 3 story books to read (borrow them from the library instead of buying). The essay portion of test is a bit hard, must be very detailed.

Here's the deal never takes attendance and his test come straight from the book, WHICH HE GIVES THE ANSWERS TOO. but a lot of busy work assigns a lot of projects that he just check for completion. Easy A if you do all the busy work. Tests are a free A

Awesome teacher. He made history really interesting. He is funny and easy to listen to. I bought the book and never opened it once. You only need the book he wrote with the outlines in it. All of the multiple choice questions are taken directly from his book.

Cool Class. He made history sound like gossip, which made it fun. His class is like a huge story. I liked it. All the test Q&As are in his outline book, which is the only book you need. He tells you all the assignments at the begging n you hav all semester to do them. Just do the work & don't expect him to care your problems.

3 MC from the book he wrote...word by word...just memorize(30%). 2 Essay(60%)...gives you 5 questions to study and you pick one of 3 on the test...gives questions first day of class. 10% attendance..takes it randomly. I'm a history major and got a B. You figure out how I manage that ;-) P.S. - He is the best teacher you can take for GE - U.S. HIST

He's so passionate about what he teaches and it's amazing how he recalls everything off the top of his head. He doesn't bring anything with him to class when he lectures. His MC tests are really easy cause it's all memorization. His essays are a little harder, but you get the questions word for word. all you've gotta do is study.

He loves and knows what he is doing. WOW this professor is a great GPA booster. MEMORIZE the answers to mult choice exams in the book and u have an A. The essay questions are already given too! NONE of the exams are cummulative. BEST teacher ever. and you actually remember things he talks about. Pretty funny guy too.

This is the easiest history class ever. All you do is use ONE book for everything. Dont bother buying the actual textbook, just buy the paperback one that he wrote. It's all in outline form. Tests are taken DIRECTLY from the book, just memorize the multiple choice. Essays can be tricky but that also comes down to memorization. SUPER EASY!GREAT NAPS

He makes history interesting. Only buy the red book with his class outlines. It has all his lectures and the answers to the questions he uses on multiple choice exams. He's a pretty tough grader on essay tests, but you get 2 chances and he takes the higher of the 2 grades. 3 book reports.

He's a pretty cool guy, won't hesitate to teach history without biases. Threw candy at the class during Halloween haha. Multiple Choice is a joke, study the back of the outline book. Essays are just a lot of memorization, and he kinda tough on the essay grading, so study the essays well!

Great teacher, you only need to by one book which is the book with his lecture notes. He takes role three times in the semester. Multiple choice tests straight from the back of the chapters, essay questions are given ahead of time. Just study the essays and memorize the multiple choice and you will earn an A.

The professor really knows what he is talking about when he lectures but the lectures and classes he has, remains completely useless when taking exams. He is also very unaccomodating regarding learning disablities, etc.

His syllabus claims that his "optional" study guide book is not required for an "A," but this is an utter lie. You may memorize the official textbook and his class lectures, but none of that material is in the exams; unless you boost his book sales and buy the "optional" book he authored, you will be lucky to eke out a "C." I was a 4.0 student.

Do not buy the "required" book instead buy his lecture notes! For the 100 Q's test it comes exactly from the sample questions from the book! Need to study for the essay test. Overall if you study you should get an A!

His "required" book? Yeah..don't waste your $ like I did. Mult. choice ?s come directly from his "optional" book. I didn't have it for the first test and got a D even tho I know my history! After I got it I got As. Interesting lecturer but make sure you buy the book and study INTENSIVELY for essays.Don't buy the "required" book-never used it once!!

This class is so boring. He even did not use any ppt at all. Keep talking and taliking, and he seems know a lot of history happenings, but it killing students at 8AM class. You'd better take the other one if you have any chances!

made history really fun. don't buy the required book. buy the book that HE WROTE. it's full of ALL his lectures and has the ANSWERS to the mult choice tests. he's a bit picky on the essay portion of tests but gives you all the prompts before hand. let's you skip a test/essay if you did well on the first. says he doesn't curve. final is worth 50%.

He's an awesome teacher! I never really liked history until I took his class! Just buy the book he wrote, highlight the events he talks about as he lectures and study them and you'll for sure get an A, the lowest a B in his class. All professors should be like him.

Awesome guy! I don't like history at all but he made it easier to do well in the class! Just study the essays and the multiple choice in the back of the review book. ONLY BUY THE REVIEW BOOK! It's all you really need to get A's on your multiple choice tests :D Big class but he occasionally does call role.

This class was stupid. He doesn't base your grade on your test scores, but rather on attendance. Absolutely ridiculous, what kind of teacher fails a student based upon attendance? That doesnt prove what i learned at all, cause i still did good on tests. Good thing he's not coming back to teach, or so i heard.

Excellent professor. For an 8AM history class, I looked forward to it a lot because he made the lectures really interesting. He gives a lot of extra credit and basically gives out the questions to his tests and essays in his optional textbook. It's a shame that CSUN decided to let him go.

Professor Reynolds is the greatest professor that I have had thus far at CSUN. He reaches out to all students, especially those who have no particular interest in history, and makes the class extremely enjoyable for them. He uses no visuals whatsoever yet manages to hold the attention of, and devote all of his time towards helping, every student.

Prof. Reynolds is an awesome dude. He makes his classes incredibly interesting definitely if you consider the fact that they were purely lecture. Definitely get his outline book. EVERY SINGLE QUESTION FOR HIS TESTS ARE IN THAT BOOK!!! Definitely attend class because he takes role randomly. The only difficult part was the essays but you only have 2.

I took this class online and it was very unclear what he wanted. He refuses to meet during his office hours because it is an "online" class. So I have many unanswered questios. There are no online lectures, videos, ANYTHING. I am teaching myself. I do not recommend.

He doesn't use power points or even notes, just writes down topics on the board and tells us everything about them. 3 multiple choice tests, the questions come DIRECTLY from his lecture note textbook. 2 easy essays. Offers A LOT of extra credit. VERY knowledgeable about history. Definitely recommended

Clear and interesting read his outline book and other class book. Interesting not painful to take like other History courses at CSUN. Be prepared to write on the questions for test and you will PASS. His lectures were totally interesting and helpful :) totally loved the structure of this class. HE KNOWS HIST STUFF!

You have to do all the studying on your own he provides no actual structure to the class. mandatory project every week and on several occasions he has rejected them without even reading them, i know this because when i confronted him about one he immediately changed his mind and approved it. i don not recommend this professor

Total boss right here. He doesn't help much during class but thats okay because it is still interesting. You basically got 3 essay exams and 3 multiple choice exams. STUDY THE BOOK is the key to success in this class. Its not bad at all! Good class to take.

Read the syllabus carefully and FOLLOW IT. Study 2-3/5 questions(try not to aim for the easiest on the final). All questions on mult. choice exams are in his book. He doesn't help during class because he covers a lot of info, so take good notes. Attendance isn't mandatory, but he does randomly do roll check, and you miss info if you're not there.

Very enjoyable class! Textbook is easy to read and questions in textbook comprise the bulk of his tests. Read the text: Ace the test. Assignments should be submitted early because it is tough to get used to the way he wants his work to be turned in. Once you get in the swing of things, it is a very smooth class and fun at times. Take it!

Took this class last semester on saturday, what a joke. This guy shows up three days during the semester, once for the first day, midterm, and final. Other than that he sent his buddy from CoC to lecture us for three hours with no visual aid, just him standing and talking for three interminable hours. Avoid at all costs, he doesn't care at all.

Easy pass. 3 test - mc + essay. 1 essay optional. mc questions found in optional book. only have to study hard for in class essays, but he tells you the essay questions in syllabus. No surprises. Makes history fun even if you don't like. Sub teaches a lot cuz hes head of department. Sub is just as cool - majored in pop culture history.

He's super easy. If you buy his book you already have the answers to the multiple choice on both midterms and final. And he has two essay's which are worth most of your grade, but he gives you the essay questions in the beginning of the semester. Just need to study for the essay. He likes detail. Take him!

What made me SUPER annoyed about Reynold's class is that I aced all of his exams, both essay and multiple choice. Only thing is attendance is mandatory and he lowers your grade after more than 3 absences. I took the Saturday class and couldn't attend a few times so he gave me a B- in the end. Buy his optional book! Helps more than the other book!

I had this class for 3 hours once a week. I believe he showed up for lecture only 3 times all semester, which is too bad because his lectures were great. TA did almost every lecture and was only OK. easy class but I wish the professor actually showed up. Buy his book and you should get a good grade without much effort.

E-mailed him so he could help me get the minutes that I had a right to, he said NO! said i would have passed since I had only completed 5 questions in 20 m

I am currently taking this class. His grades are straight from his optional book. Don't bother buying the "needed" textbook. He's never there. Has subs. Offers a lot of extra credit. Attendance does matter. If you're willing to sit through a boring but pretty easy upper division history class, DO IT !

Took him for History 371. Hardly ever showed up and had a sub for probably 70% of the time, which is a shame bc he is a great lecturer unlike the sub. Hardest part is the essay tests bc he wants very specific answers for. MC is a guarantee A if you use his book.

I am currently taking this class online, and it's a pain. The reading assignments that are needed in order to pass tests are extremely long which makes it almost impossible to retain. Also, the assignments that a due weekly are rejected multiple times throughout the class, because it is a "current event and not an article."

He's a really straight forward guy. Randomly takes attendance, but attendance does matter. Get the textbook! He gives 2-3 exams; the multiple choice questions are word for word from the text, and the essay prompts/questions are given before-hand so you have a lot of time to study and know what to expect. Overall pretty easy class.

I took Professor Reynolds for History 111 and 112. In 111 I only got a B because I didn't do so well on the first test (60s)... after that I knew what to expect and I got an A on all the other tests. When I took him during 112, I did the homework and took the tests. Easiest A I ever got. MAKE SURE TO TURN HOMEWORK IN EARLY...

He was awesome. If you buy the optional book he wrote most of the questions on the multiple choice test are on there and if you just study for the essay tests you should be good to go. Get the optional book only. MC questions are all in there. The essay questions are given to you in the syllabus. Pretty straightforward instructions. He will deduct grade for nonattendance. That's how I ended up with an A-. Overall, go to class study for 2 essays and 3 MC tests and the class is a breeze. Great lectures. Definitely recommended!

He is a well respected professor, he knows the material. Only purchase his optional book, which costs about $100 and study the same exact Multiple choice questions from the book that will be on the tests. Only 3 MC tests and 2 graded in class essays in which he will provide 5 prompts before hand. Recommended course.

His class is fairly decent. 2 test & the final. Attendance is important, he randomly calls roll. The test has the EXACT same questions as the workbook, no trick questions. ONLY buy the work book and you'll get an A+ in the multiple choice. The essay part is easy as long as you prepare for it.

I had him for a once a week class and he missed at least 6 days out of the 16 week semester. He would give us the test cover (example) chapter 1-11 and we would have onlygone through chapter 1-9. So he would cover the chapters after the test. I got an A on midterms but final was 35% of grade. He makes us buy his book in order to get an A

He said this will be his last semester teaching. Need to study 3 out of 5 essay questions to guarantee answer to 1 of 3 questions given during exam. Midterm & final essay exam each worth 30%. 3 MC's 10% each. 10% attendance. Took the 3hr sat class, all meetings are lectures & 3 test days. The professor busy so substitute most of the time.

I did not like this class because you had 3 tests and 3 essay exams. The essay exams are tough because he gives you 5 prompts but only 3 will be on the test and you have to memorize the essay and he is a tough grader. Only buy one of the books, the one that HE wrote has the same multiple choice questions as the test. He takes role randomly.

This is an easy class if you buy his book, it has all the answers. However, the essay part of the test is horrible. He is a very tough grader with the essays. I got perfect scores on all three multiple choice tests but the essay on the Final I got a D and one C on another essay. It was ridiculous. BECAUSE of the essay grades I got a C+ in the class

Tough grader for sure. He is not merciful when it comes to late work, and he doesn't give enough time to complete all the assignments. Many miscommunications through emails that he blamed me for. Maybe take this class alone and not with other classes, as it will take up all of you're time. I do not recommend taking history with him.
